Given a sequence x of points in the unit interval, we associate with it a virtual permutation w=w(x) (that is, a sequence w of permutationsw n such that for all n=1,2,..., wn−1=w′n is obtained from wn by removing the last element n from its cycle). We introduce a detailed version of the well-known stick breaking process generating a random sequence x. It is proved that the associated random virtual permutation w(x) has a Ewens distribution. Up to subsets of zero measure, the space of virtual permutations is identified with the cube [0, 1]. Bibliography: 8 titles. Neumaier and Seidel (1988) generalized the concept of spherical designs and defined Euclidean designs in ℝ n . For an integer t, a finite subset X of ℝ n given together with a weight function w is a Euclidean t-design if holds for any polynomial f(x) of deg(f)≤ t, where {S i , 1≤ ip} is the set of all the concentric spheres centered at the origin that intersect with X, X i = XS i , and w:X→ ℝ> 0. (The case of XS n−1 with w≡ 1 on X corresponds to a spherical t-design.) In this paper we study antipodal Euclidean (2e+1)-designs. We give some new examples of antipodal Euclidean tight 5-designs. We also give the classification of all antipodal Euclidean tight 3-designs, the classification of antipodal Euclidean tight 5-designs supported by 2 concentric spheres.  相似文献

We study the irrational factor function I(n) introduced by Atanassov and defined by , where is the prime factorization of n. We show that the sequence {G(n)/n} n≧1, where G(n) = Π ν=1 n I(ν)1/n , is convergent; this answers a question of Panaitopol. We also establish asymptotic formulas for averages of the function I(n). This paper concerns the maximum value and the set of maximum points of a random version of Takagi’s continuous, nowhere differentiable function. Let F(x):=∑ n=1 ε n ϕ(2 n−1 x), xR, where ɛ 1, ɛ 2, ... are independent, identically distributed random variables taking values in {−1, 1}, and ϕ is the “tent map” defined by ϕ(x) = 2 dist (x, Z). Let p:= P (ɛ 1 = 1), M:= max {F(x): xR}, and := {x ∈ [0, 1): F(x) = M}. An explicit expression for M is given in terms of the sequence {ɛ n }, and it is shown that the probability distribution μ of M is purely atomic if p < , and is singular continuous if p ≧ . In the latter case, the Hausdorff dimension and the multifractal spectrum of μ are determined. It is shown further that the set is finite almost surely if p < , and is topologically equivalent to a Cantor set almost surely if p ≧ . The distribution of the cardinality of is determined in the first case, and the almost-sure Hausdorff dimension of is shown to be (2p − 1)/2p in the second case. This paper deals with a viscosity iteration method, in a real Hilbert space , for minimizing a convex function over the fixed point set of , a mapping in the class of demicontractive operators, including the classes of quasi-nonexpansive and strictly pseudocontractive operators. In this paper, we show that if the sum ∑r=1 Ψ(r) diverges, then the set of points (x, z, w) ∈ ℝ × ℂ × ℚp satisfying the inequalities , and for infinitely many integer polynomials P has full measure. With a special choice of parameters v i and λ i , i = 1, 2, 3, we can obtain all the theorems in the metric theory of transcendental numbers which were known in the real, complex, or p-adic fields separately.  相似文献
