Transition metal oxide (TMO) anode materials in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) usually suffer from serious volume expansion leading to the pulverization of structures, further giving rise to lower specific capacity and worse cycling stability. Herein, by introducing polyoxometalate (POM) clusters into TMOs and precisely controlling the amount of POMs, the MnZnCuOx-phosphomolybdic acid hybrid sub-1 nm nanosheets (MZC-PMA HSNSs) anode is successfully fabricated, where the special electron rich structure of POMs is conducive to accelerating the migration of lithium ions on the anode to obtain higher specific capacity, and the non-covalent interactions between POMs and TMOs make the HSNSs possess excellent structural and chemical stability, thus exhibiting outstanding electrochemical performance in LIBs, achieving a high reversible capacity (1157 mAh g−1 at 100 mA g−1) and an admirable long-term cycling stability at low and high current densities.  相似文献

Solid-state electrolytes (SSEs) with high ionic conductivity and superior stability are considered to be a key technology for the safe operation of solid-state lithium batteries. However, current SSEs are incapable of meeting the requirements for practical solid-state lithium batteries. Here we report a general strategy for achieving high-performance SSEs by engineering polymers of intrinsic microporosity (PIMs). Taking advantage of the interconnected ion pathways generated from the ionizable groups, high ionic conductivity (1.06×10−3 S cm−1 at 25 °C) is achieved for the PIMs-based SSEs. The mechanically strong (50.0 MPa) and non-flammable SSEs combine the two superiorities of outstanding Li+ conductivity and electrochemical stability, which can restrain the dendrite growth and prevent Li symmetric batteries from short-circuiting even after more than 2200 h cycling. Benefiting from the rational design of SSEs, PIMs-based SSEs Li-metal batteries can achieve good cycling performance and superior feasibility in a series of withstand abuse tests including bending, cutting, and penetration. Moreover, the PIMs-based SSEs endow high specific capacity (11307 mAh g−1) and long-term discharge/charge stability (247 cycles) for solid-state Li−O2 batteries. The PIMs-based SSEs present a powerful strategy for enabling safe operation of high-energy solid-state batteries.  相似文献

Solid-state electrolytes (SSEs) are capable of inhibiting the growth of lithium dendrites, demonstrating great potential in next-generation lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). However, poor room temperature ionic conductivity and the unstable interface between SSEs and the electrode block their large-scale applications in LIBs. Composite solid-state electrolytes (CSSEs) formed by mixing different ionic conductors lead to better performance than single SSEs, especially in terms of ionic conductivity and interfacial stability. Herein, we have systematically reviewed recent developments and investigations of CSSEs including inorganic composite and organic–inorganic composite materials, in order to provide a better understanding of designing CSSEs. The comparison of different types of CSSEs relative to their parental materials is deeply discussed in the context of ionic conductivity and interfacial design. Then, the proposed ion transfer pathways and models of lithium dendrite growth in composites are outlined to inspire future development of CSSEs.

We reported proton-conducting membranes with novel microstructure based on partially phosphorylated poly(vinyl alcohol) (P-PVA) and polyethylene glycol (PEG) grafted silica (PEG-SiO2) particles. The PEG-SiO2 particles were synthesized through acid catalyzed hydrolysis and condensation reactions. The membranes were characterized for their mechanical, structural, morphological, and electrical properties by employing tensile test, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), impedance analyzer, respectively. In these membranes, P-PVA acts as the proton source and PEG act as the proton solvent. The PEG-riched phases in the hybrid membrane form continuous ionic conducting pathways and subsequently give high ionic conductivity. The results suggest that the obtained membrane shows good thermal stability, excellent mechanical property and high ionic conductivity, and the low-cost hybrid membrane can be a promising candidate for intermediate temperature fuel cell systems.  相似文献

To promote the development of solid‐state batteries, polymer‐, oxide‐, and sulfide‐based solid‐state electrolytes (SSEs) have been extensively investigated. However, the disadvantages of these SSEs, such as high‐temperature sintering of oxides, air instability of sulfides, and narrow electrochemical windows of polymers electrolytes, significantly hinder their practical application. Therefore, developing SSEs that have a high ionic conductivity (>10?3 S cm?1), good air stability, wide electrochemical window, excellent electrode interface stability, low‐cost mass production is required. Herein we report a halide Li+ superionic conductor, Li3InCl6, that can be synthesized in water. Most importantly, the as‐synthesized Li3InCl6 shows a high ionic conductivity of 2.04×10?3 S cm?1 at 25 °C. Furthermore, the ionic conductivity can be recovered after dissolution in water. Combined with a LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 cathode, the solid‐state Li battery shows good cycling stability.  相似文献

SnS2–graphene nanocomposites are synthesized by a hydrothermal method, and their application as anodes of lithium-ion batteries has been investigated. SnS2 nanosheets are uniformly coating on the surface of graphene. SnS2–graphene nanocomposites exhibit high cyclability and capacity. The reversible capacity is 766 mAh/g at 0.2C rate and maintains at 570 mAh/g after 30 cycles. Such a high performance can be attributed to high electron and Li-ion conductivity, large surface area, good mechanical flexibility of graphene nanosheets and the synergetic effect between graphene and SnS2 nanostructures. The present results indicate that SnS2–graphene nanocomposites have potential applications in lithium-ion battery anodes.  相似文献

Volume expansion and poor conductivity are two major obstacles that hinder the pursuit of the lithium-ion batteries with long cycling life and high power density. Herein, we highlight a misfit compound PbNbS3 with a soft/rigid superlattice structure, confirmed by scanning tunneling microscopy and electrochemical characterization, as a promising anode material for high performance lithium-ion batteries with optimized capacity, stability, and conductivity. The soft PbS sublayers primarily react with lithium, endowing capacity and preventing decomposition of the superlattice structure, while the rigid NbS2 sublayers support the skeleton and enhance the migration of electrons and lithium ions, as a result leading to a specific capacity of 710 mAh g−1 at 100 mA g−1, which is 1.6 times of NbS2 and 3.9 times of PbS. Our finding reveals the competitive strategy of soft/rigid structure in lithium-ion batteries and broadens the horizons of single-phase anode material design.  相似文献

In this work we report for the first time about the use of protic ionic liquids (PILs) as electrolyte for lithium-ion batteries. The electrolyte 1 M LiTFSI in Et3NHTFSI displays a conductivity comparable to that of aprotic ionic liquids, and electrochemical stability window large enough to allow the realization of LIBs containing LFP as cathode and LTO as anode. The use of this PIL as electrolyte in LIBs allows the realization of devices able to deliver good capacity and promising cycling stability.  相似文献

A facile and electrostatically driven approach has been developed to prepare bicontinuous polymer nanocomposites that is based on the polyoxometalate (POM) macroion induced phase transition of PS-b-P2VP from an initial lamellar phase to a stable bicontinuous phase. The multi-charged POMs can electrostatically cross-link P2VP blocks and give rise to bicontinuous phases in which the POM hybrid conductive domains occupy a large volume fraction of more than 50 %. Furthermore, the POMs can give rise to high proton conductivity and serve as nanoenhancers, endowing the bicontinuous nanocomposites with a conductivity of 0.1 mS cm−1 and a Young's modulus of 7.4 GPa at room temperature; these values are greater than those of pristine PS-b-P2VP by two orders of magnitude and a factor of 1.8, respectively. This approach can provide a new concept based on electrostatic control to design functional bicontinuous polymer materials.  相似文献

Copper sulfides (CuxS) are widely used as the promising electrode materials for secondary batteries because of the rich abundance, low cost, excellent capacity (~337/560 mA h/g for Cu2S/CuS) as well as favorable electrical conductivity (10?3 S/cm). Moreover, nanostructure designing and compounding with other conductive materials can enhance the electrochemical performance of CuxS. In this review, the up-to-date progress in the synthesis method as well as the application for secondary batteries (lithium-ion batteries, lithium-sulfur batteries, sodium-ion batteries, magnesium-ion batteries, and so on) of CuxS and their relevant composites have been discussed detailly. In the end, the challenges, feasible strategies, and application prospects for the CuxS are also summarized.  相似文献

The continuous development of solid-state electrolytes(SSEs) has stimulated immense progress in the development of all-solid-state batteries(ASSBs). Particularly, garnet-typed SSEs in formula of Li7La3Zr2O12(LLZO) are under intensive investigation to exploit their advantage in high lithium ions conductivity(>1 mS/cm), wide electrochemical window(>5 V), and good chemical electrochemical stability for lithium, which are critical factors to ensure a stable, and high performance ASSBs. This review will focus on the challenges related to LLZOs-based electrolyte, and update the recent developments in structural design of LLZOs, which are discussed in three major sections:(i) crystal structure and the lithium-ion transport mechanism of LLZO; (ii) single-site and multi-site doping of Li sites, La sites and Zr sites to enhance Li ions conductivity(LIC) and stability of LLZO; (iii) interface strategies between electrodes and LLZO to decrease interface area-specific resistance(ASR).  相似文献

The growing energy demand with the widespread use of smart portable electronics, as well as an exponential increase in demand for smart batteries for electric vehicles, entails the development of efficient portable batteries with high energy density and safe power storage systems. Li-ion batteries arguably have superior energy density to all other traditional batteries. Developing mechanically robust solid-state electrolytes (SSEs) for lithium-ion conduction for an efficient portable energy storage unit is vital to empower this technology and overcome the safety constraints of liquid electrolytes. Herein, we report the formation of self-assembled organic nanosheets (SONs) utilizing positional isomers of small organic molecules (AM-2 and AM-3) for use as SSEs for lithium-ion conduction. Solvent-assisted exfoliation of the bulk powder yielded SONs having near-atomic thickness (∼4.5 nm) with lateral dimensions in the micrometer range. In contrast, self-assembly in the DMF/water solvent system produced a distinct flower-like morphology. Thermodynamic parameters, crystallinity, elemental composition, and nature of H-bonding for two positional isomers are established through various spectroscopic and microscopic studies. The efficiency of the lithium-ion conducting properties is correlated with factors like nanostructure morphology, ionic scaffold, and locus of the functional group responsible for forming the directional channel through H-bonding in the positional isomer. Amongst the three different morphologies studied, SONs display higher ion conductivity. In between the cationic and zwitterionic forms of the monomer, integration of the cationic scaffold in the SON framework led to higher conductivity. Amongst the two positional isomers, the meta-substituted carboxyl group forms a more rigid directional channel through H-bonding to favor ionic mobility and accounts for the highest ion conductivity of 3.42 × 10−4 S cm−1 with a lithium-ion transference number of 0.49 at room temperature. Presumably, this is the first demonstration that signifies the importance of the cationic scaffold, positional isomers, and nanostructure morphologies in improving ionic conductivity. The ion-conducting properties of such SONs having a guanidinium-core may have significance for other interdisciplinary energy-related applications.

Self-assembled organic nanosheets (SONs) having a near-atomic thickness (∼4.5 nm) are obtained through exfoliation. Among two positional isomers of the guanidinium-core analogue used for SONs, one shows greatly improved Li+ ion conductivity.  相似文献

Herein, we report the synthesis and characterization of a new class of hybrid Wells–Dawson polyoxometalate (POM) containing a diphosphoryl group (P2O6X) of the general formula [P2W17O57(P2O6X)]6− (X=O, NH, or CR1R2). Modifying the bridging unit X was found to impact the redox potentials of the POM. The ease with which a range of α-functionalized diphosphonic acids (X=CR1R2) can be prepared provides possibilities to access diverse functionalized hybrid POMs. Compared to existing phosphonate hybrid Wells–Dawson POMs, diphosphoryl-substituted POMs offer a wider tunable redox window and enhanced hydrolytic stability. This study provides a basis for the rational design and synthesis of next-generation hybrid Wells–Dawson POMs.  相似文献

Recently, it has become very important to develop cost-effective anode materials for the large-scale use of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). Polyoxometalates (POMs) have been considered as one of the most promising alternatives for LIB electrodes owing to their reversible multi-electron-transfer capacity. Herein, Keggin-type [PMo12O40]3− (donated as PMo12) clusters are anchored onto a 3D microporous carbon framework derived from ZIF-8 through electrostatic interactions. The PMo12 clusters can be immobilized steadily and uniformly on the carbon framework, which provides enhanced electrical conductivity and high stability. Compared with PMo12 itself, the as-prepared novel 3D Carbon-PMo12 composite displays a significantly improved Li-ion storage performance as an LIB anode, with excellent reversible specific capacity and rate capacity, as well as high cycling performance (discharge capacity of 985 mA h g−1 after 200 cycles), which are superior to other POM-based anode materials reported so far. The high performance of the Carbon-PMo12 composite can be attributed to the 3D conductive network with fast electron transport, high ratio of pseudocapacitive contribution, and evenly distributed PMo12 clusters with reversible 24-electron transfer capacity. This work offers a facile way to explore novel LIB anodes consisting of electroactive molecule clusters.  相似文献

Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have been the most commonly used batteries in the portable electronics market for many years. Polypyrrole (PPy) was now investigated as a conducting addition agent to enhance the cathode and anode materials performance in LIBs. Actual development in the synthesis and modification of the most promising cathode materials, LiFePO4, is described in this mini-review. The main aim of this mini-review is to highlight the effect of PPy based conducting polymer films on the electrochemical efficiency of LiFePO4 based cathode materials for LIBs summarizing our own research. Influence of the polyethylene glycol (PEG) additive in the PPy coating layer was evaluated. The improved electrochemical performance can be attributed to the enhanced electronic conductivity, higher solubility of ions originating from the electrolyte, higher movability of dissolved Li+ ions, and improved structural flexibility resulting from the incorporation of the PPy or PPy/PEG conducting polymer layer. The stabilizing effect of PEG in PPy was reflected in lowered cross-linking and reduced structural defects and, in consequence, in higher specific capacity of PPy/PEG-LiFePO4 cathodes compared to that of PPy-LiFePO4 cathodes and bare LiFePO4 cathodes.  相似文献

Polyoxymethylene (POM)/multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) nanocomposites were prepared through a simple solution‐evaporation method assisted by ultrasonic irradiation. To enhance the dispersion of MWNTs in POM, MWNTs were chemically functionalized with PEG‐substituted amine (MWNT‐g‐PEG), which exhibited strong affinity with POM due to their similar molecular structure. The thermal conductivity and the mechanical properties of the composites were investigated, which showed that the thermal conductive properties of POM were improved remarkably in the presence of MWNTs, whereas reduced by using MWNT‐g‐PEG due to the heat transport barrier of the grafted‐PEG‐substituted amine chain. A nonlinear increase of the thermal conductivity was observed with increasing MWNTs content, and the Maxwell‐Eucken model and the Agari model were used for theoretical evaluation. The relatively high effective length factor of the composite predicted with mixture equation indicated that there were few entangles of MWNTs for the samples of MWNT‐g‐PEG in the composites. The mechanical strength of the composites can be improved remarkably by using suitable content of such functionalized MWNTs, and with the increase of the aliphatic chain length of PEG‐substituted amine, the toughness of the composites can be enhanced. Transmission electron microscope result indicated that MWNT‐g‐PEG exhibited strong affinity with POM and a good dispersion of MWNTs was achieved in POM matrix. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Recently, the process by which energy is transferred from photoexcited semiconductor nanocrystals, called quantum dots (QDs), to other semiconductors has attracted much attention and has potential application in solar energy conversion (i.e., QD‐sensitized solar cells). Sensitization of wide band gap polyoxometalates (POMs) to visible light by using CuInS2 QDs dispersed in an organic solution is demonstrated herein. Photoluminescence quenching and lifetime studies revealed efficient electron transfer from the CuInS2 QDs to POMs, such as SiW12O40 and W10O32, that were hybridized with a cationic surfactant. CuInS2 QDs function as an antenna that absorbs visible light and supplies electrons to the POMs to enable certain photocatalytic reactions, including noble‐metal‐ion reduction. The photoenergy storage capabilities of the QD‐POM system, in which electrons photogenerated in QDs by visible‐light excitation are trapped and accommodated by POMs to form reduced POM, are also demonstrated. Electrons stored in the POM can be later discharged through reductive reactions, such as oxygen reduction, in the dark.  相似文献

Two novel polyoxometalate(POM)-templated coordination polymers: [Cu2(phnz)3][M6O19] (M = Mo for 1, W for 2; phnz = phenazine), have been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by routine physical methods and single crystal X-ray diffraction. In the compounds, Lindqvist POMs as templates induce the [Cu2(phnz)3] complexes to 2D hexagonal metal-organic framework (MOF), which represents 63 topologies of dimensions ca. 13.515 × 13.515 × 13.515 Å. Furthermore, the 2D sheets are held together by Lindqvist POMs into 3D supramolecular networks with 1D channel, and Lindqvist POMs site in the channels. The successful syntheses and isolation of two compounds provide a novel example of the utility of POM clusters as templates for self-assembly extended framework with cavities.  相似文献
