A novel and facile approach has been developed to synthesize thin films of magnetite (Fe(3)O(4)) with epitaxial needle-like columnar grains on titanium nitride (TiN) buffered substrate using DC magnetron reactive sputtering. TiN buffer layer was first sputtered onto a substrate at 550 °C as a preferable substrate for growth following sputtering of epitaxial crystalline Fe(3)O(4) at 300 °C. The as-synthesized epitaxial Fe(3)O(4) was extensively characterized. The electrocatalytic activity of the epitaxial Fe(3)O(4) thin-film sensor against hydrogen peroxide (H(2)O(2)) reduction was rapid with a response time less than 5 s. The sensor also exhibited an acceptable stability, a satisfying sensitivity of 432.2 μA mM(-1) cm(-2), good specificity to the substrate, a dynamic working range of up to 0.7 mM and a low detection limit of 1.0 μM. The sensor performance correlated well (R(2)=0.996) with results obtained using a commercial HPLC-UV device. The sensor performance was robust and accurate in measuring H(2)O(2) in some complex matrices. The advantages of relative simplicity and ease of mass production make the epitaxial Fe(3)O(4) thin film promising candidate for use in sensing applications.  相似文献

A robust optical composite thin film dissolved oxygen sensor was fabricated by ionically trapping the dye ruthenium(II) tris(4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline) dichloride in a blended fluoropolymer matrix consisting of Nafion® and Aflas®. Strong phosphorescence, which was strongly quenched by dissolved oxygen (DO), was observed when the sensor was immersed in water. The sensor was robust, optically transparent, with good mechanical properties. Fast response, of a few seconds, coupled with sensitivity of about 0.1 mg L−1 (DO) over the range 0-30 mg L−1 and resistance to leaching, were also exhibited by this system. The Stern-Volmer (SV) plot exhibited slight downward turning at all oxygen concentrations. A linear plot was obtained when the SV equation was modified to account for the varying sensitivity of dye molecules in the matrix to the quencher. Good long term stability was observed.  相似文献

Spin coated films of Co-Polyaniline nanocomposite are evaluated for their transmission properties using He-Ne laser for humidity sensing. The thickness (17-29 microm) of the films is varied by multiple deposition of Co-Polyaniline nanocomposite on a glass substrate. The samples exhibit typically two to three regions in their sensitivity curve when tested in the relative humidity (RH) range of 20-95%. The sensitivity ranges from 0.1 mV/%RH to 12.26 mV/%RH for lower to higher thickness. The sensors show quick response of 8s (20-95%RH), and a recovery time of 1 min (95-20%RH) with good repeatability, reproducibility and low hysteresis effect. The sensitivity of the sensor increases with humidity and thickness. Material characterization is done by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron micrograph (SEM) and Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy (FTIR).  相似文献

The interfacial interaction strength and transition properties in a reverse selective thin film nanocomposite system, silica-poly[(trimethylsilyl)propyne] (SiO(x)-PTMSP), are investigated locally by heated tip atomic force microscopy. SiO(x)-PTMSP has recently been introduced as a new class of reverse selective membrane materials with extraordinarily high permeability and selectivity (reverse selectivity). Here, we examine the thermal transition properties of the polymer matrix and the debonding strength between PTMSP and silica. Transitions at 330 degrees C were identified as degradation processes. Criteria for debonding were found to include polymer viscoelastic responses, particle size, embedding depth, scan speed, and frequency of impact. Probe-particle impact forces revealed a debonding energy of 2.6 J/m(2) and an impact force transition that occurs 30 degrees C below the degradation temperature in the neat polymer, confirming the presence of enhanced polymer mobility at the SiO(x)-PTMSP interface.  相似文献

A highly sensitive galvanic cell oxygen sensor was successfully developed for determining parts per billion of oxygen in high purity gases such as nitrogen, argon, etc. The response of this improved sensor was proportional in the range of oxygen concentrations from 10.0 ppm to the detection limit. The response speed in this study was improved to within 90 sec for a 90% response. The detection limit was tentatively found to be less than 0.4 ppb corresponding to S N = 2 .  相似文献

Fabrication of multicomponent nanocomposites as electrode-modified materials is an effective strategy to design highly active electrochemical sensors. Here, we present a facile strategy to fabricate the palladium phthalocyanine-multiwalled carbon nanotube (PdPc-MWCNTs) nanocomposite for the sensitive detection of rutin. Results showed that the prepared nanocomposites exhibited excellent electrocatalytic activity toward rutin due to the synergetic effects of PdPc and MWCNTs (excellent electric conductivity and catalytic activity) and the homogeneous dispersibility of Nafion. Under the optimized conditions, the developed sensor exhibited a linear response range from 0.10 to 51 μM for rutin with a low detectable limit of 75 nM and a fast response less than 3.0 s. The proposed method might offer a possibility for electrochemical analysis of rutin in Chinese medical analysis or serum monitoring owing to its low cost, simplicity, high sensitivity, good stability, and few interferences against common coexisting ions in real samples.  相似文献

The dye Erythrosine B (which gives room-temperature phosphorescence, RTF) has been covalently bound to a silica-based amino-functionalized exchanger. The resulting material turned out to be extremely useful as a luminescent probe for oxygen. The photochemical properties and the analytical performance of the RTF probe have been studied by use of a gas flow-injection analysis system, which incorporates a convenient exponential dilution chamber for gas sample introduction. The possible origin of the non-linear Stern-Volmer quenching response observed is thoroughly discussed in terms of the quenching and lifetimes. The proposed sensing material is particularly suitable for measuring oxygen in gas mixtures at extremely low concentrations. The detection limit attained was 0.00006% (0.6 ppm) of oxygen in dry argon (making the system one of the more sensitive optosensors for oxygen published so far). A typical precision of ± 0.2%, at the 0.025% oxygen level, was achieved. Response times were less than 2 s for full signal change and no hysteresis effects were noticed. A possible mechanism for the observed oxygen RTF quenching in the new sensing material is proposed.  相似文献

A new metal cation probe bearing a central Ir(III) element and 1-aza-15-crown-5-ether substituted pyridyl pyrazolate as the chelate was synthesized. The octahedral molecular structure of was confirmed using single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. Subsequent photophysical study showed yellow-green emission at approximately 560 nm in both fluid solution and solid state at room temperature. Remarkable differentiation in spectral properties upon metal cation (e.g. Ca2+) complexation makes complex a highly sensitive phosphorescence probe.  相似文献

A homemade instrument for the measurement of oxygen concentration in aqueous solutions measures the decay rate of the phosphorescence of a Pd-porphyrin complex (phosphor) dissolved in the solution, which is flashed every 0.1 s with 630 nm light. The concentration of O2 is a linear function of the decay rate. The instrument is used to study the reaction of dithionite (S2O42-) with O2 at 25 degrees C and 37 degrees C. It is found that the ratio of dithionite to oxygen consumed in the reaction is 1.2 +/- 0.2 at 25 degrees C and 1.7 +/- 0.1 at 37 degrees C, suggesting a temperature-dependent stoichiometry. At both temperatures, the initial rate of O2 consumption, -d[O2]/dt, is found to be 1/2 order in S2O42- and first order in O2. This finding is consistent with a previously proposed mechanism: S2O42- <--> 2SO2- comes to a rapid equilibrium, and SO2- reacts with O2 in the rate-determining step.  相似文献

Using interfacial polymerization (IP) of m-phenylenediamine aqueous solution containing polyoxovanadate nanoclusters (POV) and trimesoyl chloride (TMC) in organic solution, we fabricated a novel polyamide (PA)- polyoxovanadate nanocluster (POV) nanocomposite membranes (PA-POV TFN). The chemical structures and morphologies of the synthesized membranes were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, atomic force microscope (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and water contact angle measurements. Experimental results showed that the performances of PA-POV TFN membranes are remarkably dependent on POV incorporation in the membranes, which could be controlled by using different amounts of POV particles. Moreover, the PA-POV TFN membranes illustrated outstanding antibacterial properties against Gram-negative E. coli. On the other hand, the incorporation of various amounts of POV in the membranes improved the membrane separation performances (water flux and salt rejection) as well as the antibacterial activity in FO process as compared to the original thin-film composite (TFC) polyamide membrane.  相似文献

Atomistic simulations employing dynamic charge transfer between atoms are used to investigate ultra-thin oxide growth on Al(100) metal substrates in the presence of an ac electric field. In the range of 1-10 GHz frequencies, the enhancement in oxidation kinetics by ~12% over natural oxidation can be explained by the Cabrera-Mott mechanism. At field frequencies approaching 0.1-1 THz, however, we observe a dramatic lowering of the kinetics of oxygen incorporation by ~35% compared to the maximum oxidation achieved, which results in oxygen non-stoichiometry near the oxide-gas interface (O/Al ≈ 1.0). This is attributed to oxygen desorption from the oxide surface. These results suggest a general strategy to tune oxygen concentration at oxide surfaces using ac electric fields that could be of interest in diverse fields related to surface chemistry and applications such as tunnel barriers, thin dielectrics and oxide interfaces.  相似文献

In this work, a very sensitive and simple electrochemical sensor for chlorophenols (CPs) based on a nanocomposite of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and ZnSe quantum dots (ZnSe–CTAB) through electrostatic self-assembly technology was built for the first time. The composite of ZnSe–CTAB introduced a favorable access for the electron transfer and gave superior electrocatalytic activity for the oxidation of CPs than ZnSe QDs and CTAB alone. Differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) was used for the quantitative determination of the CPs including 2-chlorophenol (2-CP), 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP) and pentachlorophenol (PCP). Under the optimum conditions, the peak currents of the CPs were proportional to their concentrations in the range from 0.02 to 10.0 μM for 2-CP, 0.006 to 9.0 μM for 2,4-DCP, and 0.06 to 8.0 for PCP. The detection limits were 0.008 μM for 2-CP, 0.002 μM for 2,4-DCP, and 0.01 μM for PCP, respectively. The method was successfully applied for the determination of CPs in waste water with satisfactory recoveries. This ZnSe–CTAB electrode system provides operational access to design environment-friendly CPs sensors.  相似文献

A sensitive and stable electrochemical sensor was developed by modification of carbon paste electrode with ZrO2/graphene/chitosan nanocomposite. The modified sensor served as a potential electrocatalytic platform for dopamine. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy studies indicated reduction of charge transfer resistance at the modified electrode surface thereby facilitating the electron transfer process which resulted in higher current response to dopamine. The electrochemical behavior of dopamine at the modified electrode was studied using cyclic and square wave voltammetry. The maximum current response for the electro-oxidation of dopamine was observed at pH 7.4 and the process was realized to be diffusion controlled. The modified sensor demonstrated linearity in the range 1000–5000 nM, with high sensitivity (22 nA/nM), detection limit of 11.3 nM and selectivity for dopamine in the presence of ascorbic and uric acid which are found to co-exist with dopamine in physiological media. The method was employed for quantification of dopamine in a pharmaceutical formulation.  相似文献

Novel photochromic nanocomposite thin film containing phosphotungstic acid entrapped in polyacrylamide was prepared using ultrasound technique. TEM image revealed that the polyoxometalates nanoparticles with narrow size distribution were finely dispersed in polymer matrix. IR spectra showed that the Keggin geometry of polyoxometalates was still preserved inside the composite film and strong Coulombic interaction was built between heteropolyoxometalates and polyacrylamide via hydrogen bond. It was found that the thermal stability of the hybrid film was lower than that of pure polymer but the film was stable enough for photochromic application from the TG-DTA curves. The transparent film changed from colorless to blue under UV irradiation and showed reversible photochromism. The bleaching process occurred when the film was in contact with air or O2 in the dark. The photoreduced process was in accordance with radical mechanism.  相似文献

A new surface-initiated polymerization based on pasting the initiator on a sensor chip surface was applied to prepare a malachite green (MG) imprinted ultrathin film on a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor. First, the initiator (2,2-azoisobutyronitrile) was pasted on the gold surface using polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The initiator-covered gold chip was then soaked in a pre-polymerization solution prepared by dissolving methacrylic acid (functional monomer), ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (cross-linker), and MG (template) in DMSO in a weighing bottle. Finally, the weighing bottle was placed in a vacuum oven and thermal-initiated polymerization was conducted at 60 °C for 16 h. This method was simple and time-saving compared with the commonly used surface-initiated polymerization. More importantly, the molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) film prepared using this method was much thicker than that of commonly used methods; the adsorption quantity was also much larger. The MIP modified SPR sensor showed high sensitivity and selectivity as well as good stability in detecting MG. The results suggest that the ultrathin MIP film prepared using the new method in this study is suitable to serve as the recognition element of the SPR sensor.  相似文献

In this study, a sensitive optical waveguide (OWG) sensor for the detection and identification of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) was reported. The sensing membrane is constructed by immobilization of peroxopolytungsten acid (PTA) thin film over a single-mode potassium ion (K+) exchanged glass OWG by spin-coating method. A laser beam was coupled into and out of the glass optical waveguide using prism couplers, and dry air functioned as a carrier gas. The sensor was tested for various volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and it showed higher response to the chlorobenzene gas compared to other VOCs. Therefore, we used the OWG sensor to detect chlorobenzene gas as a typical example of VOCs. The sensor exhibits a linear response to chlorobenzene gas in the range of 0.4-1000 ppm with rapid response and good reversibility. The constructed sensor is easy to fabricate and it has some unique qualities which can be characterized as inexpensive, sensitive, and reusable.  相似文献

A nanocomposite of polyaniline/reduced graphene oxide (PANI-rGO) was synthesized using a hydrothermal method. The product was characterized by FT-IR, Raman spectra, XRD, SEM and TEM. Then the hybrid material of PANI-rGO and Nafion (PANI-rGO-NF) was prepared and used to modify glassy carbon electrode for the trace determination of dopamine (DA) employing differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). It was found that the hybrid material showed good catalytic activity toward the oxidation of DA, and no response to ascorbic acid (AA) and uric acid (UA) was observed, suggesting a high selectivity of the sensor toward DA. The peak currents were linearly correlated with the concentration of DA in the range from 0.05 μmol/L to 60.0 μmol/L (R=0.996) and 60.0 μmol/L to 180.0 μmol/L (R=0.996) with a detection limit of 0.024 μmol/L (S/N=3). The modified electrode also exhibited excellent repeatability and stability.  相似文献

Fluorescence-active chemosensors (L1-L4), comprising a rhodamine scaffold and a pseudo azacrown cation-binding subunit, have been proposed and characterized as a fluorescent chemosensor for Hg(2+). An on-off type fluorescent enhancement was observed by the formation of the ring-opened amide form of the rhodamine moiety, which was induced by the interactions between Hg(2+) and the chemosensor. Upon the addition of Hg(2+), an overall emission change of 350-fold was observed, and the selectivity was calculated to be 300 times higher than Cu(2+) for receptors L2-L4. A polymeric thin film can be obtained by doping poly(methyl methacrylate) or PMMA with chemosensor L2. Such a thin film sensor can be used to detect Hg(2+) with high sensitivity and can be recovered using diluted NaOH.  相似文献

The oxygen vacancy in WO(3) has previously been implicated in the electrochromism mechanism in this material. Previous theoretical calculations on the oxygen vacancy in WO(3) have not considered the full range of crystal structures adopted by the material. Here we report studies of the oxygen vacancy in seven crystal phases. The use of a very accurate tungsten plane-wave pseudopotential means that a byproduct of this study is a more detailed and complete picture of undefected WO(3) than previously available. Electronic structures of the crystal phases in both undefected and defected systems have been calculated and are discussed. The band gap in WO(3) is dependent upon bonding-antibonding interactions, these being dependent upon overlap in each direction. The effect of an oxygen vacancy is dependent upon the availability of both Op and Wd electrons, this being different for the various phases. A variety of behavior is predicted, which may be explained in terms of O2p-W5d mixing, including the formation of long W-W dimer bonds. It is found that the nature of a polaron in this material is dependent upon both the crystal structure and distribution of oxygen vacancies.  相似文献
