Let be a hyperelliptic curve over an algebraically closed field of characteristic O and G a group of automorphisms of that contains the canonical involution of . We describe the group-theoretical structure of G by means of the arithmetical structure of the morphism G.  相似文献

Singular integral equations with Cauchy kernel and piecewise-continuous matrix coefficients on open and closed smooth curves are replaced by integral equations with smooth kernels of the form(t–)[(t–) 2n 2 (t) 2]–1,0, wheren(t), t , is a continuous field of unit vectors non-tangential to . we give necessary and sufficient conditions under which the approximating equations have unique solutions and these solutions converge to the solution of the original equation. For the scalar case and the spaceL 2() these conditions coincide with the strong ellipticity of the given equation.This work was fulfilled during the first author's visit to the Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics, Berlin in October 1993.  相似文献

Summary In this paper we consider the problem of holomorphic continuation and removal of singularities of the CR functions given on K, where is a generic manifold with nondegenerate Levi form and K is a meromorphically p-convex compactum. We get some conditions on , relative to p-convexity and q-concavity, under which every integrable CR function given on K extends holomorphically in some domain \K, where is a wedge domain with edge . Our Results are local.Authors had a support of Russian Fund of Fundamental Investigations (grant 93-011-258).  相似文献

Let D be a region with rectifiable Jordan boundary , and let z=f(x, y) be a minimal surface defined over D. This paper establishes that: 1) function z=f(x, y) almost everywhere on has finite or infinite angular boundary values; 2) if region D is the exterior of a circle then, almost everywhere on boundary , function z=f(x, y) can be continued by continuity.Translated from Matematicheskie Zametki, Vol. 21, No. 4, pp. 551–556, April, 1977.  相似文献

Consider a closed subgroup of the automorphism group of a homogeneous treeT, and assume that acts transitively on the vertex set. Suppose that is a probability measure on which has continuous density with respect to Haar measure and whose support is compact open and generates as a closed semigroup. It is shown that the Martin boundary of with respect to the random walk with law coincides with the space of ends ofT. This extends known results for free groups and applies, for example, to the affine group over a non archimedean local field.  相似文献

This paper gives a proof of a conjecture of W.-C. Hsiang for the negativeK-theory of integral grouprings , when the group is a subgroup of a uniform lattice in a Lie group. The authors' earlier paper reduced this result to the very special cases where either is finite or is virtually infinite cyclic. The finite case was done much earlier by Carter extending results of Bass and Murthy. The major work of the present paper consists of proving the conjecture when is virtually infinite cyclic.Both authors were supported in part by the National Science Foundation.  相似文献

The 2×2 system of integral equations corresponding to the biharmonic single layer potential in 2 is known to be strongly elliptic. It is also known to be positive definite on a space of functions orthogonal to polynomials of degree one. We study the question of its unique solvability without this orthogonality condition. To each curve , we associate a 4×4 matrixB such that this problem for the family of all curves obtained from by scale transformations is equivalent to the eigenvalue problem forB . We present numerical approximations for this eigenvalue problem for several classes of curves.  相似文献

Let be a locally compact second countable group, F a local field of characteristic zero and G an F-almost-simple F-algebraic group. In this paper we study the space X(,G) of Zariski-dense representations : G = G(F) using the natural morphism of cohomological functors * : H*(G, ·) H*(, ·) (where H denotes the continuous cohomology).First let F be a p-adic field. We completely describe the relations between the geometry and the cohomology of G : using geometric properties of the Bruhat-Tits building of G we construct natural cocycles for any irreducible cohomological representation of G. We then adapt these results to the case where the field F is archimedean.Using these cocycles we obtain a simple cohomological characterization of representations with bounded image.Our main result is then the construction, using the previous cocycles and dynamical properties at infinity of , of cohomological invariants (called volumes) on the space X(,G). These volumes describe how the image () goes to infinity in G. They have coefficients in the natural universal infinite-dimensional representation L(, )$\mathbb{C}$ of .In the case where is a cocompact lattice of SO(n, 1) or SU(n, 1), we use these volumes to produce new non-trivial numerical invariants on X(,G), which refine previously known invariants.

Let be a graph and G be a 2-arc transitive automorphism group of . For a vertex x let G(x)(x) denote the permutation group induced by the stabilizer G(x) of x in G on the set (x) of vertices adjacent to x in . Then is said to be a locally projective graph of type (n,q) if G(x)(x) contains PSLn(q) as a normal subgroup in its natural doubly transitive action. Suppose that is a locally projective graph of type (n,q), for some n 3, whose girth (that is, the length of a shortest cycle) is 5 and suppose that G(x) acts faithfully on (x). (The case of unfaithful action was completely settled earlier.) We show that under these conditions either n=4, q=2, has 506 vertices and , and contains the Wells graph on 32 vertices as a subgraph. In the latter case if, for a given n, at least one graph satisfying the conditions exists then there is a universal graph W(n) of which all other graphs for this n are quotients. The graph W(3) satisfies the conditions and has 220 vertices.  相似文献

We associate to any length function L on a group a space of rapidly decreasing functions on (in the l 2 sense), denoted by H L (). When H L () is contained in the reduced C*-algebra C r * () of (), then it is a dense *-subalgebra of C r * () and we prove a theorem of A. Connes which asserts that under this hypothesis H L () has the same K-theory as C r * (). We introduce another space of rapidly decreasing functions on (in the l 1 sense), denoted by H L 1, (), which is always a dense *-subalgebra of the Banach algebra l 1(), and we show that H L 1, () has the same K-theory as l 1().  相似文献

We construct an infinite family{ n}n=5 of finite connected graphs n that are multiple extensions of the well-known extended grid discovered in [1] (which is isomorphic to 5). The graphs n are locally n–1 forn > 5, and have the following property: the automorphism groupG(n) of n permutes transitively the maximal cliques of n (which aren-cliques) and the stabilizer of somen-clique of n inG(n) induces n on the vertices of. Furthermore we show that the clique complexes of the graphs n are simply connected.  相似文献

Let PSL(2,) be a torsion free function group. We discuss some aspects of the asymptotic relation between the geometry of the hyperbolic manifold H3/ and the geometry of the boundary of its convex core. This leads to a characterization of Fuchsian function groups by dynamical invariants.

In this paper, we investigate the action of the -cohomology of the compact dual of a compact Shimura Variety S() on the -cohomology of S()> under a cup product. We use this to split the cohomology of S() into a direct sum of (not necessarily irreducible) -Hodge structures. As an application, we prove that for the class of arithmetic subgroups of the unitary groups U(p,q) arising from Hermitian forms over CM fields, the Mumford–Tate groups associated to certain holomorphic cohomology classes on S() are Abelian. As another application, we show that all classes of Hodge type (1,1) in H2 of unitary four-folds associated to the group U(2,2) are algebraic.  相似文献

The first lp-cohomology group of a hyperbolic groupe induces on the boundary of equivalence relations which are invariant by quasi-isometries. We study these equivalence relations in case of some amalgamated products =A * c B.  相似文献

Let G be a finite permutation group on a set with no fixed points in and let m and k be integers with 0 < m < k. For a finite subset of the movement of is defined as move() = maxgG| g \ |. Suppose further that G is not a 2-group and that p is the least odd prime dividing |G| and move() m for all k-element subsets of . Then either || k + m or k (7m – 5) / 2, || (9m – 3)/2. Moreover when || > k + m, then move() m for every subset of .  相似文献

The Perkel graph is a distance-regular graph of order 57, degree 6 and diameter 3, with intersection array (6, 5, 2; 1, 1, 3). We describe a computer assisted proof that every graph with this intersection array is isomorphic to the Perkel graph. The computer proof relies heavily on the fact that the minimal idempotents for , and their submatrices, are positive semidefinite.To minimize the risk of computer errors we have used two different methods to establish the same theorem and as an added precaution large parts of the corresponding programs were written by different authors.The first method generates plausible subgraphs induced by all vertices at distance 3 from a fixed vertex of and then tries to extend each of the generated graphs to a full graph with the given intersection array.The second method generates possible neighborhoods for a pentagon in . It turns out that every such pentagon can be extended to a Petersen graph in . We then prove mathematically that there is, up to isomorphism, only a single graph with this property.  相似文献

An undirected graph of valencyd and girth is called a (d, )-cage if its automorphism group acts transitively on the set of alls-paths in ands(+1)/2. We discuss an elementary construction of two known families of cages which allows us to prove easily some facts about their automorphism groups. We give, for example, a new proof of the fact that the automorphism group ofSp 4(2 n ) contains elements which are not induced by Sp 4(2 n ).  相似文献

Let be a distance regular graph with diameterd, and d () the set of vertices at distanced from. is said to be thin if the induced subgraph on d () is a union of cliques for every vertex. We show that the diameterd is bounded above by a function depending only onk d, which is the cardinality of d (), if is not thin. We also investigate thin distance regular graphs witha d 0.  相似文献
