Products of Toeplitz Operators on the Bergman Space

In 1962 Brown and Halmos gave simple conditions for the product of two Toeplitz operators on Hardy space to be equal to a Toeplitz operator. Recently, Ahern and Cucković showed that a similar result holds for Toeplitz operators with bounded harmonic symbols on Bergman space. For general symbols, the situation is much more complicated. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for the product to be a Toeplitz operator (Theorem 6.1), an explicit formula for the symbol of the product in certain cases (Theorem 6.4), and then show that almost anything can happen (Theorem 6.7).     

Commuting Toeplitz Operators on the Pluriharmonic Bergman Space

We prove that two Toeplitz operators acting on the pluriharmonic Bergman space with radial symbol and pluriharmonic symbol respectively commute only in an obvious case.     

Hyponormal Toeplitz Operators on the Weighted Bergman Space

Consider j = f +[`(g)]\varphi = f + \overline {g}, where f and g are polynomials, and let T_jT_{\varphi} be the Toeplitz operators with the symbol j\varphi. It is known that if T_jT_{\varphi} is hyponormal then |f￠(z)|² 3 |g￠(z)|²|f'(z)|^{2} \geq |g'(z)|^{2} on the unit circle in the complex plane. In this paper, we show that it is also a necessary and sufficient condition under certain assumptions. Furthermore, we present some necessary conditions for the hyponormality of T_jT_{\varphi} on the weighted Bergman space, which generalize the results of I. S. Hwang and J. Lee.

Also, we show that a Toeplitz operator with an analytic or co-analytic monomial symbol commutes with another Toeplitz operator only in the trivial case.

Products of Toeplitz Operators on a Vector Valued Bergman Space

We give a necessary and a sufficient condition for the boundedness of the Toeplitz product T _F T _G* on the vector valued Bergman space L_a²(\mathbbCⁿ){L_a^2(\mathbb{C}^n)}, where F and G are matrix symbols with scalar valued Bergman space entries. The results generalize those in the scalar valued Bergman space case [13]. We also characterize boundedness and invertibility of Toeplitz products T _F T _G* in terms of the Berezin transform, generalizing results found by Zheng and Stroethoff for the scalar valued Bergman space [17].     

Algebraic Properties of Toeplitz Operators with Radial Symbols on the Bergman Space of the Unit Ball

In this paper, we discuss some algebraic properties of Toeplitz operators with radial symbols on the Bergman space of the unit ball in . We first determine when the product of two Toeplitz operators with radial symbols is a Toeplitz operator. Next, we investigate the zero-product problem for several Toeplitz operators with radial symbols. Also, the corresponding commuting problem of Toeplitz operators whose symbols are of the form is studied, where and φ is a radial function. Commutants of Analytic Toeplitz Operators on the Harmonic Bergman Space

We study the commuting problem for Toeplitz operators on the harmonic Bergman space of the unit disk. We show that an analytic Toeplitz operator and a co-analytic Toeplitz operator with certain noncyclicity hypothesis can commute only when one of their symbols is constant. We also obtain analogous results for semi-commutants.
