A novel Ru(II) complex possessing two sequentially linked viologen units, Ru-V(1)-V(2)(6+), was synthesized and characterized. Upon excitation of the Ru(II) unit (lambda(exc) = 532 nm, fwhm approximately 10 ns), a long-lived charge-separated (CS) state is observed (tau = 1.7 micros) by transient absorption spectroscopy. Unlike Ru(bpy)(3)(2+), which cleaves DNA upon photolysis through the formation of reactive oxygen species, such as (1)O(2) and O(2)(-), the photocleavage of plasmid DNA by Ru-V(1)-V(2)(6+) is observed both in air and under N(2) atmosphere (lambda(irr) > 395 nm).  相似文献

The physical and photophysical properties of a series of monometallic, [Ru(bpy)(2)(dmb)](2+), [Ru(bpy)(2)(BPY)](2+), [Ru(bpy)(Obpy)](2+) and [Ru(bpy)(2)(Obpy)](2+), and bimetallic, [{Ru(bpy)(2)}(2)(BPY)](4+) and [{Ru(bpy)(2)}(2)(Obpy)](4+), complexes are examined, where bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine, dmb is 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine, BPY is 1,2-bis(4-methyl-2,2'-bipyridin-4'-yl)ethane, and Obpy is 1,2-bis(2,2'-bipyridin-6-yl)ethane. The complexes display metal-to-ligand charge transfer transitions in the 450 nm region, intraligand pi --> pi transitions at energies greater than 300 nm, a reversible oxidation of the ruthenium(II) center in the 1.25-1.40 V vs SSCE region, a series of three reductions associated with each coordinated ligand commencing at -1.3 V and ending at approximately -1.9 V, and emission from a (3)MLCT state having energy maxima between 598 and 610 nm. The Ru(III)/Ru(II) oxidation of the two bimetallic complexes is a single, two one-electron process. Relative to [Ru(bpy)(2)(BPY)](2+), the Ru(III)/Ru(II) potential for [Ru(bpy)(2)(Obpy)](2+) increases from 1.24 to 1.35 V, the room temperature emission lifetime decreases from 740 to 3 ns, and the emission quantum yield decreases from 0.078 to 0.000 23. Similarly, relative to [{Ru(bpy)(2)}(2)(BPY)](4+), the Ru(III)/Ru(II) potential for [{Ru(bpy)(2)}(2)(Obpy)](4+) increases from 1.28 to 1.32 V, the room temperature emission lifetime decreases from 770 to 3 ns, and the room temperature emission quantum yield decreases from 0.079 to 0.000 26. Emission lifetimes measured in 4:1 ethanol:methanol were temperature dependent over 90-360 K. In the fluid environment, emission lifetimes display a biexponential energy dependence ranging from 100 to 241 cm(-)(1) for the first energy of activation and 2300-4300 cm(-)(1) for the second one. The smaller energy is attributed to changes in the local matrix of the chromophores and the larger energy of activation to population of a higher energy dd state. Explanations for the variations in physical properties are based on molecular mechanics calculations which reveal that the Ru-N bond distance increases from 2.05 ? (from Ru(II) to bpy and BPY) to 2.08 ? (from Ru(II) to Obpy) and that the metal-to-metal distance increases from approximately 7.5 ? for [{Ru(bpy)(2)}(2)(Obpy)](4+) to approximately 14 ? for [{Ru(bpy)(2)}(2)(BPY)](4+).  相似文献

Twelve complexes 1-12 of general category [M(ligand)(anion)(x)(water)(y)], where ligand = N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(2-hydroxypropyl/ethyl)ethylenediamine (HPEN/HEEN), anion = anions of picric acid (PIC), 3,5-dinitrobenzoic acid (DNB), 2,4-dinitrophenol (DNP), and o-nitrobenzoic acid (ONB), M = Ca(2+), Sr(2+), Ba(2+), or Na(+), x = 1 and 2, and y = 0-4, were synthesized. All of these complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, (1)H and (13)C NMR, and thermal studies. X-ray crystal studies of these complexes 1-12, [Ca(HPEN)(H(2)O)(2)](PIC)(2).H(2)O (1), [Ca(HEEN)(PIC)](PIC) (2), Ba(HPEN)(PIC)(2) (3), [Na(HPEN)(PIC)](2) (4), Ca(HPEN)(H(2)O)(2)](DNB)(2).H(2)O (5),Ca(HEEN)(H(2)O)](DNB)(2).H(2)O (6), [Sr(HPEN)(H(2)O)(3)](DNB)(2) (7), [Ba(HPEN)(H(2)O)(2)](DNB)(2).H(2)O](2) (8), [[Ba(HEEN)(H(2)O)(2)](ONB)(2)](2) (9), [[Sr(HPEN)(H(2)O)(2)](DNP)(2)](2) (10), [[Ba(HPEN)(H(2)O)(2)](DNP)(2)](2) (11), and [Ca(HEEN)(DNP)](DNP) (H(2)O) (12), have been carried out at room temperature. Factors which influence the stability and the type of complex formed have been recognized as H-bonding interactions, presence/absence of solvent, nature of the anion, and nature of the cation. Both the ligands coordinate the metal ion through all the six available donor atoms. The complexes 1 and 5-11 have water molecules in the coordination sphere, and their crystal structures show that water is playing a dual character. It coordinates to the metal ion on one hand and strongly hydrogen bonds to the anion on the other. These strong hydrogen bonds stabilize the anion and decrease the cation-anion interactions by many times to an extent that the anions are completely excluded out of the coordination sphere and produce totally charge-separated complexes. In the absence of water molecules as in 2 and 3 the number of hydrogen bonds is reduced considerably. In both the complexes the anions case interact more strongly with the metal ion to give rise to a partially charge-separated 2 or tightly ion-paired 3 complex. High charge density Ca(2+) forms only monomeric complexes. It has more affinity toward stronger nucleophiles such as DNP and PIC with which it gives partially charge-separated eight-coordinated complexes. But with relatively weaker nucleophile like DNB, water replaces the anion and produces a seven coordinated totally charge-separated complex. Sr(2+) with lesser charge/radius ratio forms only charge-separated monomeric as well as dimeric complexes. Higher coordination number of Sr(2+) is achieved with coordinated water molecules which may be bridging or nonbridging in nature. All charge-separated complexes of the largest Ba(2+) are dimeric with bridging water molecules. Only one monomeric ion-paired complex was obtained with Ba(PIC)(2). Na(+) forms a unique dinuclear cryptand-like complex with HPEN behaving as a heptadentate chelating-cum-bridging ligand.  相似文献

The Ru(2)(III,II) mixed-valent state is strongly stabilized in [(bpy)(2)Ru(mu-bttz)Ru(bpy)(2)](5+) (3(5+), bttz = 3,6-bis(2-thienyl)-1,2,4,5-tetrazine, as evident from lowered oxidation potentials and isolability, a strongly increased comproportionation constant K(c) = 10(16.6), and a high-energy intervalence charge transfer band at 10100 cm(-1). Curiously, no such effects were observed for the diosmium(III,II) analogue, whereas the related systems [(bpy)(2)M(mu-bmptz)M(bpy)(2)](5+), bmptz = 3,6-bis(4-methyl-2-pyridyl)-1,2,4,5-tetrazine, exhibit conventional behavior, i.e., a slightly higher K(c) value of the Os(2)(III,II) analogue. EPR signals were observed at 4 K for 3(5+) but not for the other mixed-valent species, and high-frequency (285 GHz) EPR was employed to study the diruthenium(II) radical complexes 2(3+) and 3(3+).  相似文献

Three heterotetranuclear complexes, [{Ru(II)(bpy)(2)(L(n))}(3)Mn(II)](8+) (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine, n = 2, 4, 6), in which a Mn(II)-tris-bipyridine-like centre is covalently linked to three Ru(II)-tris-bipyridine-like moieties using bridging bis-bipyridine L(n) ligands, have been synthesised and characterised. The electrochemical, photophysical and photochemical properties of these complexes have been investigated in CH(3)CN. The cyclic voltammograms of the three complexes exhibit two successive very close one-electron metal-centred oxidation processes in the positive potential region. The first, which is irreversible, corresponds to the Mn(II)/Mn(III) redox system (E(pa) approximately 0.82 V vs Ag/Ag(+) 0.01 M in CH(3)CN-0.1 M Bu(4)NClO(4)), whereas the second which is, reversible, is associated with the Ru(II)/Ru(III) redox couple (E(1/2) approximately 0.91 V). In the negative potential region, three successive reversible four electron systems are observed, corresponding to ligand-based reduction processes. The three stable dimeric oxidized forms of the complexes, [Mn(2)(III,IV)O(2){Ru(II)(bpy)(2)(L(n))}(4)](11+), [Mn(2)(IV,IV)O(2){Ru(II)(bpy)(2)(L(n))}(4)](12+) and [Mn(2)(IV,IV)O(2){Ru(III)(bpy)(2)(L(n))}(4)](16+) are obtained in fairly good yields by sequential electrolyses after consumption of respectively 1.5, 0.5 and 3 electrons per molecule of initial tetranuclear complexes. The formation of the di-micro-oxo binuclear complexes are the result of the instability of the {[Ru(II)(bpy)(2)(L(n))](3)Mn(III)}(9+) species, which react with residual water, via a disproportionation reaction and the release of one ligand, [Ru(II)(bpy)(2)(L(n))](2+). A quantitative yield can be obtained for these reactions if the electrochemical oxidations are performed in the presence of an added external base like 2,6-dimethylpyridine. Photophysical properties of these compounds have been investigated showing that the luminescence of the Ru(II)-tris-bipyridine-like moieties is little affected by the presence of manganese within the tetranuclear complexes. A slight quenching of the excited states of the ruthenium moieties, which occurs by an intramolecular process, has been observed. Measurements made at low concentration (<1 x 10(-5) M) indicate that some decoordination of Mn(2+) arises in 1a-c. These measurements allow the calculation of the association constants for these complexes. Finally, photoinduced oxidation of the tetranuclear complexes has been performed by continuous photolysis experiments in the presence of a large excess of a diazonium salt, acting as a sacrificial oxidant. The three successive oxidation processes, Mn(II)--> Mn(III)Mn(IV), Mn(III)Mn(IV)--> Mn(IV)Mn(IV) and Ru(II)--> Ru(III) are thus obtained, the addition of 2,6-dimethylpyridine in the medium giving an essentially quantitative yield for the two first photo-induced oxidation steps as found for electrochemical oxidation.  相似文献

Tris-(2, 2'-bipyridyl)ruthenium(II) complex, Ru(bpy)(3)(2+), was immobilized on the Dowex-50 W cationic ion-exchange resin. The chemiluminescent characteristics of Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) in solution and in resin form were compared by using batch and flow injection methods. A strong chemiluminescence was observed during the reaction of Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) both in solution and in resin with KMnO(4) or Ce(SO(4))(2) under acidic or basic conditions. The Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) immobilized resin is stable, which can be used at least for 6 months when it reacts with the dilute KMnO(4) solution. Based on this property, Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) immobilized in the resin phase was developed as a flow-through chemiluminescent sensor that could be used to determine oxalate, sulfite and ethanol chemically or electronically with Ru(bpy)(3)(3+) generation on the surface of resin. The limits of detection were 1 x 10(-6) M for oxalate, 0.5% (v/v) for ethanol and 1 x 10(-7) M for sulfite. The method has been successfully applied to determine sulfite in sugar.  相似文献

Electrochemiluminescence (ECL) of Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) using metabolites of catecholamines: homovanillic acid (HVA) and vanillylmandelic acid (VMA) as co-reactants were investigated in aqueous solution for the first time. When HVA and VMA were co-existent in the buffer solution containing Ru(bpy)(3)(2+), ECL peaks were observed at a potential corresponding to the oxidation of Ru(bpy)(3)(2+), and the ECL intensity was increased noticeably when the concentrations of HVA and VMA were at lower levels. The linear calibration range was from 8.0 × 10(-5) to 1.0 × 10(-9) M for HVA and VMA. The detection limit (S/N = 3) of HVA and VMA was 4.0 × 10(-10) M. The formation of the excited state Ru(bpy)(3)(2+*) was confirmed to result from the reaction between Ru(bpy)(3)(3+) and the intermediates of HVA or VMA radicals. Moreover, it was found that the ECL intensity was quenched significantly when the concentrations of HVA and VMA were relatively higher. The mechanism of self-quenching processes involved in the Ru(bpy)(3)(2+)-HVA and -VMA ECL systems are proposed in this study.  相似文献

K(+)-exchanged, Ru(bpy)(3)(2+)-encapsulating zeolite-Y [K(+)-Ru(bpy)(3)(2+)Y] and N-[3-(dicyclohexylmethyl)oxypropyl-N'-methyl-4,4'-bipyridinium [DCH-MV(2+)] were prepared, and visible light-induced electron transfer from the zeolite-encapsulated Ru(II) complex to the size-excluded viologen was studied in acetonitrile. Addition of a series of crown ethers (CEs) into the heterogeneous solution leads to over a 10-fold increase in the yield of DCH-MV(*)(+), where the yield linearly increases as the formation constant of CE with K(+) [K(f)(K(+))(CE)] increases. The following two sequential events are attributed to be responsible for the above novel phenomenon. First, K(+) ions are liberated from the zeolite to solution during interfacial electron transfer from the photoexcited Ru(II) complexes to DCH-MV(2+). Second, the liberated K(+) ions form strong host-guest complexes with the added CE molecules, which leads to retardation of the reverse flow of the cations, hence the charge-balancing electrons, from the solution to the zeolite. Surprisingly, the yield of DCH-MV(*)(+) reaches more than approximately 50 times the amount of Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) situated in the outermost supercages, despite the absence of electron relay in the zeolite. This is attributed to photosensitized electron pumping from the zeolite framework to viologen by the outermost Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) ions. In support of the above conclusion, Ru(bpy)(3)(3+) does not accumulate in the zeolite host while DCH-MV(*)(+) accumulates in the supernatant solution. Consistent with the above, the independently prepared hexafluorophosphate salt of Ru(bpy)(3)(3+) is reduced to Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) in acetonitrile upon contact with Ru(bpy)(3)(2+)-free M(+)Y (M(+) = Li(+), Na(+), K(+), Rb(+), and Cs(+)), where the yield increases as the donor strength of the framework oxygen increases. Although small, thermal electron transfer also takes place from the zeolite framework to DCH-MV(2+), where the yield increases upon increasing the donor strength of the framework, concentration of DCH-MV(2+), temperature, and K(f)(K(+))(CE) (when K(+)Y is the zeolite host). The photoyield is always higher than the thermal yield by 4-30 times, confirming that the zeolite-encapsulated Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) serves as the photosensitized electron pump.  相似文献

The reaction between Ru(bpy)(2)Cl(2) (bpy=2,2'-bipyridine) and di-2-pyridylketone-p-nitrophenylhydrazone (dpknph) in refluxing ethanol gave [Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2) in good yield. Optical measurements on [Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2) in non-aqueous media revealed the presence of two interlocked electronic states due to conformational changes associated with the hydrazone moiety of [Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2). The equilibrium distribution of the high-energy beta-conformation associated with the high-energy electronic state and the low-energy alpha-conformation associated with the low-energy electronic state is solvent and solute dependent controlled by the solvent-solute and solute-solute interactions. The interplay between the alpha- and beta-conformations of [Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2) allowed calculations of the extinction coefficients of electronic states by forcing the equilibrium to shift to one conformation using chemical stimuli. Extinction coefficients of 56000+/-2000 and 48500+/-2000 M(-1) cm(-1) were calculated in DMSO for the beta- and alpha-conformations of [Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2), respectively, using excess HgCl(2) in DMSO. Thermo-optical measurements on [Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2) in DMSO confirmed the interconversion between the alpha- and beta-conformations of [Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2) and gave changes in enthalpy (DeltaH(?)) of -35.5+/-4.0 and 13.0+/-0.5 kJ mol(-1), entropy (DeltaS(?)) of -126.9+/-20 and 45.2+/-4.5 kJ mol(-1), and free energy (DeltaG(?)) of 2.31+/-0.2 and -0.48+/-0.2 kJ mol(-1) in the absence and presence of NaBH(4) at 295 K. The high values for the extinction coefficients and low values and sensitivity of the activation parameters for the interconversion between the alpha- and beta-conformations of [Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2) in DMSO to solution composition allowed for the use of this system ([Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2) and surrounding solvent or solute molecules) as a spectrophotometric sensor for a variety of chemical stimuli that include metal ions. Group 12 metal ions in concentrations as low as 1.00x10(-8) M can be detected and determined using [Ru(bpy)(2)(dpknph)]Cl(2) in DMSO in the presence and absence of NaBH(4).  相似文献

The PF6- salt of the dinuclear [(bpy)2Ru(1)Os(bpy)2]4+ complex, where 1 is a phenylacetylene macrocycle which incorporates two 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) chelating units in opposite sites of its shape-persistent structure, was prepared. In acetonitrile solution, the Ru- and Os-based units display their characteristic absorption spectra and electrochemical properties as in the parent homodinuclear compounds. The luminescence spectrum, however, shows that the emission band of the Ru(II) unit is almost completely quenched with concomitant sensitization of the emission of the Os(II) unit. Electronic energy transfer from the Ru(II) to the Os(II) unit takes place by two distinct processes (k(en) = 2.0x10(8) and 2.2x10(7) s(-1) at 298 K). Oxidation of the Os(II) unit of [(bpy)2Ru(1)Os(bpy)2]4+ by Ce(IV) or nitric acid leads quantitatively to the [(bpy)2Ru(II)(1)Os(III)(bpy)2]5+ complex which exhibits a bpy-to-Os(III) charge-transfer band at 720 nm (epsilon(max) = 250 M(-1) cm(-1)). Light excitation of the Ru(II) unit of [(bpy)2Ru(II)(1)Os(III)(bpy)2]5+ is followed by electron transfer from the Ru(II) to the Os(III) unit (k(el,f) = 1.6x10(8) and 2.7x10(7) s(-1)), resulting in the transient formation of the [(bpy)2Ru(III)(1)Os(II)(bpy)2]5+ complex. The latter species relaxes to the [(bpy)2Ru(II)(1)Os(III)(bpy)2]5+ one by back electron transfer (k(el,b) = 9.1x10(7) and 1.2x10(7) s(-1)). The biexponential decays of the [(bpy)2*Ru(II)(1)Os(II)(bpy)2]4+, [(bpy)2*Ru(II)(1)Os(III)(bpy)2]5+, and [(bpy)2Ru(III)(1)Os(II)(bpy)2]5+ species are related to the presence of two conformers, as expected because of the steric hindrance between hydrogen atoms of the pyridine and phenyl rings. Comparison of the results obtained with those previously reported for other Ru-Os polypyridine complexes shows that the macrocyclic ligand 1 is a relatively poor conducting bridge.  相似文献

The electron transfer series of complexes [V((t)bpy)(3)](z) (z = 3+, 2+, 0, 1-) has been synthesized and spectroscopically characterized with the exception of the monocationic species. Magnetic susceptibility measurements (4-290 K) establish an S = 1 ground state for [V((t)bpy)(3)](3+), S = (3)/(2) for [V((t)bpy)(3)](2+), S = (1)/(2) for [V((t)bpy)(3)], and an S = 0 ground state for [V((t)bpy)(3)](1-). The electrochemistry of this series recorded in tetrahydrofuran solution exhibits four reversible one-electron transfer steps. Electronic absorption, X-band electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), and V K-edge X-ray absorption (XAS) spectra were recorded. All complexes have been studied computationally with density functional theory (DFT) using the B3LYP functional. It is unequivocally shown that the electronic structure of complexes is best described as [V(III)((t)bpy(0))(3)](3+), [V(II)((t)bpy(0))(3)](2+), [V(II)((t)bpy(?))(2)((t)bpy(0))](0), and [V(II)((t)bpy(?))(3)](1-), where ((t)bpy(0)) represents the neutral form of the ligand and ((t)bpy(?))(1-) is the one-electron reduced mononanionic radical form. In the neutral and monoanionic members, containing two and three ((t)bpy(?))(1-) ligands, respectively, the ligand spins are strongly antiferromagnetically coupled to the spins of the central V(II) ion (d(3); S = (3)/(2)) affording the observed ground states given above.  相似文献

It was found that stannous chloride (SnCl(2)), as a popular inorganic reducing reagent, could obviously enhance the electrochemiluminescence (ECL) of tris(2,2'-bipyridyl) ruthenium(II) (Ru(bpy)(3)(2+)) in aqueous solution. Some factors affecting the ECL reactions between Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) and Sn(2+), including pH, concentrations of coreactant, and electrode materials, were investigated by comparison with a classic ECL coreactant tripropylamine (TPA). The Ru(bpy)(3)(2+)-Sn(2+) ECL coreactant system produces stronger and more stable ECL signals, can keep its excellent ECL activity over a wider pH range and has more choices in using electrode materials than the Ru(bpy)(3)(2+)-TPA ECL coreactant system. The ECL mechanism of the Ru(bpy)(3)(2+)-Sn(2+) coreactant system was also studied in detail.  相似文献

Photoinduced electron transfer in two molecular triads comprised of a triarylamine donor, a d(6) metal diimine photosensitizer, and a 9,10-anthraquinone acceptor was investigated with particular focus on the influence of hydrogen-bonding solvents on the electron transfer kinetics. Photoexcitation of the ruthenium(II) and osmium(II) sensitizers of these triads leads to charge-separated states containing an oxidized triarylamine unit and a reduced anthraquinone moiety. The kinetics for formation of these charge-separated states were explored by using femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy. Strong hydrogen bond donors such as hexafluoroisopropanol or trifluoroethanol cause a thermodynamic and kinetic stabilization of these charge-separated states that is attributed to hydrogen bonding between alcoholic solvent and reduced anthraquinone. In the ruthenium triad this effect leads to a lengthening of the lifetime of the charge-separated state from ~750 ns in dichloromethane to ~3000 ns in hexafluoroisopropanol while in the osmium triad the respective lifetime increases from ~50 to ~2000 ns between the same two solvents. In both triads the lifetime of the charge-separated state correlates with the hydrogen bond donor strength of the solvent but not with the solvent dielectric constant. These findings are relevant in the greater context of solar energy conversion in which one is interested in storing light energy in charge-separated states that are as long-lived as possible. Furthermore they are relevant for understanding proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET) reactivity of electronically excited states at a fundamental level because changes in hydrogen-bonding strength accompanying changes in redox states may be regarded as an attenuated form of PCET.  相似文献

The first direct ion exchange of a luminescent metal complex into an alpha-zirconium phosphate framework has been accomplished. A hydrated form of alpha-ZrP, with an expanded 10.3 A interlayer distance, has been used for the intercalation of Ru(bpy)(3)(2+), resulting in further expansion to 15.2 A. The Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) luminescence band is slightly blue-shifted. High Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) loadings lead to luminescence self-quenching.  相似文献

A heterobimetallic ruthenium(II)-copper(II) complex-based luminescent chemosensor, [Ru(bpy)(2)(bpy-DPA)Cu](4+) (bpy: 2,2'-bipyridine; bpy-DAP: 4-methyl-4'-[N,N-bis(2-picolyl)amino-methylene]-2,2'-bipydine), has been designed and synthesized for the highly selective and sensitive recognition and detection of sulfide anions in 100% aqueous solutions. Owing to the high affinity of sulfide to Cu(II), the non-luminescent chemosensor can specifically and rapidly react with sulfide to yield the corresponding ruthenium(II) complex, [Ru(bpy)(2)(bpy-DPA)](2+), accompanied by the remarkable luminescence enhancement. The dose-dependent luminescence enhancement of the sensor shows a good linearity with a detection limit of 20.7 nM for sulfide anions. The novel luminescence sensor has a widely available pH range from 4.5 to 10 and an excellent response selectivity to sulfide only even in the presence of various other anions. Based on this chemosensor, a rapid, selective and sensitive luminescence method for the detection of sulfide anions in wastewater samples was established. The coefficient variations (CVs) of the method are less than 3.1%, and the recoveries are in the range of 90.9-108.5%.  相似文献

The synthetic approach, electrochemical behavior, and optical absorption and emission properties are reported of the Pt-bipyridine-acetylide/Ru-bipyridine complex [(dbbpy)Pt{(ebpy)Ru(bpy) 2} 2] (4+), PtRu 2, the Pt-bipyridine-acetylide/Os-bipyridine analogue, PtOs 2, and the Pt/Ru/Os complex [(dbbpy)Pt(ebpy) 2Ru(bpy) 2Os(bpy) 2] (4+), PtRuOs; ebpy is 5-ethynylbpy, dbbpy is 4,4'-ditertiobutylbpy, and bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine. These triads are investigated in acetonitrile solvent by comparing their electrochemical and spectroscopic properties with those of the mononuclear species [(dbbpy)Pt(ebpy) 2], Pt, [Ru(ebpy)(bpy) 2] (2+), Ru, and [Os(ebpy)(bpy) 2] (2+), Os. Results of X-ray analysis of Pt are reported, which show the planar arrangement of this unit that features two free bpy sites. The absorption spectra of the triads and the mononuclear species show that light at 452 or 376 nm can be employed to observe luminescence spectra of these complexes; for the observation of emission lifetimes, nanoled sources at 465 and 373 nm are employed. With lambda exc = 452 (and 465) nm, one selectively produces Ru --> bpy/ebpy CT (RuLCT) or Os --> bpy/ebpy CT states (OsLCT); MLCT is a metal-to-ligand charge-transfer. With lambda exc = 376 (and 373) nm, one populates Pt --> dbbpy CT and intraligand charge transfer (ILCT, involving the ebpy fragment) levels, in addition to Ru(II)- or Os(II)-centered excited states, in aliquots that are estimated from comparison of the absorption features of the components. Upon excitation with light at 376 (and 373) nm, the optical studies of PtRu 2, PtOs 2, and PtRuOs reveal full quenching of the Pt-based emission and occurrence of efficient photoinduced energy transfer, leading to exclusive MLCT emission from the ruthenium and osmium centers. In particular, PtRuOs is found to exhibit a Ru- and Os-based dual luminescence, whose intensities ratio is consistent with a Pt --> Os intramolecular energy transfer step being 3-6 times faster than the Pt --> Ru one.  相似文献

Ligand-localized electron trapping at sensitized semiconductor interfaces   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Nanocrystalline (anatase), mesoporous TiO2 thin films were derivatized with [Ru(bpy)2(deebq)](PF6)2 or [Os(bpy)2(deebq)](PF6)2, where bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine and deebq is 4,4'-diethylester-2,2'-biquinoline. Both compounds bind to the nanocrystalline TiO2 films with typical limiting surface coverages of 7 (+/-2) x 10-8 mol/cm2. Electrochemical measurements show that the first reduction of these compounds (-0.60 V vs SCE) occurs prior to TiO2 reduction. Steady-state illumination in the presence of the sacrificial electron donor triethylamine leads to the appearance of the reduced compound, MII(deebq-)(bpy)2+/TiO2. Neither the photoluminescent excited states or the reduced forms of these compounds inject electrons efficiently into TiO2. Transient absorption measurements after a approximately 10-ns laser pulse, reveal greater than 80% MLCT excited states and a smaller fraction of extremely long-lived charge-separated state intermediates assigned to equal concentrations of MII(deebq-)(bpy)2+/TiO2 and MIII(deebq)(bpy)23+/TiO2. The results are consistent with a mechanism of ultrafast electron injection followed by ligand-localized trapping on a second compound. The quantum yield for formation of the charge-separated states (phiCSS) is excitation wavelength dependent. With 417 nm excitation, phiCSS(417) = 0.14 +/- 0.03, and this decreases with 532.5 nm excitation, phiCSS(532.5) = 0.08 +/- 0.03, and 683 nm excitation for M = Os, phiCSS(683) = 0.05 +/- 0.01. Electron transfer to yield ground-state products, MII(deebq-)(bpy)2+/TiO2 + MIII(deebq)(bpy)23+/TiO2 --> 2 MII(deebq)(bpy)22+/TiO2, occurs with a driving force of 2.05 eV for Ru/TiO2 and 1.64 eV for Os/TiO2. The dynamics of this process were quantified on a millisecond time scale and were found to follow second-order kinetics. The intermediates are sufficiently long-lived that continued pulsed excitation at 10 Hz leads to high concentrations and the formation of transient images on the semiconductor surface that are easily observed by the naked eye.  相似文献

The bichromophoric system Ru-Ru(C)-PI ([(bpy)3Ru-Ph-Ru(dpb)(Metpy-PI)][PF6]3, where bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine, Hdpb is 1,3-di(2-pyridyl)-benzene, Metpy is 4'-methyl-2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine and PI is pyromellitimide) containing two Ru(II) polypyridyl chromophores with a N6 and a N5C ligand set, respectively, was synthesized and characterized. Its photophysical properties were investigated and compared to those of the monochromophoric cyclometalated complexes Ru(C)-PI ([Ru(dpb)(Metpy-PI)][PF6]), Ru(C)-phi-PI ([Ru(dpb)(ttpy-PI)][PF6], ttpy is 4'-p-tolyl-2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine), Ru(C)-phi ([Ru(dpb)(ttpy)][PF6]), and Ru(C) ([Ru(dpb)(Metpy)][PF6]). Excitation of the Ru(C) unit in the dyads leads to oxidative quenching, forming the Ru(C)(III)-phi-PI*- and Ru(C)(III)-Pl.- charge-separated (CS) states with k(f)(ET) = 7.7 x 10(7) s(-1) (CH3CN, 298 K) in the tolyl-linked Ru(C)-phi-PI and k(f)(ET) = 4.4 x 10(9) s(-1) (CH2Cl2, 298 K) in the methylene-linked Ru(C)-PI. In the Ru-Ru(C)-PI triad, excitation of the Ru(C) chromophore leads to dynamics similar to those in the Ru(C)-PI dyad, generating the Ru(II)-Ru(C)(III)-PI*- CS state, whereas excitation of the Ru unit results in an initial energy transfer (k(EnT) = 4.7 x 10(11) s(-1)) to the cyclometalated Ru(C) unit. Subsequent electron transfer to the PI acceptor results in the formation of the same Ru(II)-Ru(C)(III)-PI*- CS state with k(f)(ET) = 5.6 x 10(9) s(-1) that undergoes rapid recombination with k(b)(ET) = 1 x 10(10) s(-1) (CH2Cl2, 298 K). The fate of the Ru(II)-Ru(C)(III)-PI*- CS state upon a second photoexcitation was studied by pump-pump-probe experiments in an attempt to detect the fully charge-separated Ru(III)-Ru(C)(II)-PI*- state.  相似文献

Novel complexes 1 and 2 based on N-heterocyclic carbenes, which are analogous to Ru(bpy)(3)(2+) and Ru(terpy)(2)(2+), respectively, were synthesized. The complex, which is analogous to Ru(terpy)(2)(2+), exhibited promising photoluminescence properties with a long lifetime of 820 ns in acetonitrile and 3100 ns in water at room temperature, respectively. In addition, ab initio calculations were carried out.  相似文献

The DNA-binding properties of Ru(bpy)2(eilatin)(2+) have been investigated to determine if the sterically expansive eilatin ligand confers specificity for destabilized single-base mismatches in DNA. Competitive DNA photocleavage experiments employing a sequence-neutral metallointercalator, Rh(bpy)2(phi)(3+) (phi = 9,10-phenanthrenequinonediimine), and a mismatch-specific metalloinsertor, Rh(bpy)2(chrysi)(3+) (chrysi = chrysene-5,6-quinonediimine), reveal that the eilatin complex binds to a CC mismatched site with an apparent binding constant of 2.2(2) x 10(6) M(-1). Nonetheless, the selectivity in binding mismatched DNA is not high: competitive titrations with Rh(bpy)2(phi)(3+) show that the complex binds also to well-matched B-form sites. Thus, Ru(bpy)2(eilatin)(2+), despite containing the extremely expansive eilatin ligand, displays lower selectivity for the mismatch than does Rh(bpy)2(chrysi)(3+), a metalloinsertor containing the smaller, though still bulky, chrysene-5,6-quinonediimine ligand. In summary, the size and shape of the eilatin ligand allow stacking with both well-matched and mismatched DNA.  相似文献
