The problem is considered of constructing a semi-infinite axisymmetric body with minimum drag in subsonic flow of an ideal gas. The problem of mass transfer between an isolated bubble and the continuous phase in a pseudofluidized layer is considered, when the rising velocity of the bubble exceeds the pseudofluidization rate. In this case the bubble with the surrounding region, a so-called two-phase system, is surrounded by a surface current impermeable to the liquid [1–3], and the problem reduces to determining the concentration field and the total flow on the material surface. The equilibrium problem for an elastic body containing a crack on the interface between two media is considered. It is proved that there exist invariant (independent of the integration surface) integrals in this problem. The existence of invariant integrals is also established in the problem of a contact between an elastic body and a rigid stamp. Nonlinear boundary conditions of mutual non-penetration are prescribed on the contact boundaries. A study is made of the nonlinear problem of the flow without separation of a perfect weightless liquid past a plate near the free surface. This problem was first posed by Gurevich [1]. At present, there are only a general solution to the problem [2–4] and some numerical calculations [5], which have been made under definite restrictions and are inadequate for detailed information about the interaction between the free surface and the plate. In the present paper, a complete investigation of the problem is given.
