Intrinsic Josephson junctions in misaligned Tl2Ba2CaCu2O8 thin film were fabricated on LaAlO3 substrate. The temperature dependence of the critical current is investigated around liquid nitrogen temperature. In the current voltage characteristic, large voltage jump and lack of resistive branch are observed, which shows good consistency with the intrinsic Josephson junctions. By analyzing the large gap voltage in the curve, great suppression of the energy gap is found. Through discussing the temperature dependence of the gap voltage in liquid nitrogen temperature, it is shown that this phenomenon can be caused by the non-equilibrium quasiparticle injection. The temperature influence on the excess current also confirms the non-equilibrium effect.  相似文献

The voltage-biased current-voltage (IV) characteristics of intrinsic Josephson junctions (IJJs), which are fabricated with misaligned high temperature superconducting Tl2Ba2CaCu2O8 (Tl-2212) thin film, are investigated experimentally. Three characteristic regions in the IV curve are observed at 47 K. In the low voltage part, the current firstly increases and then decreases slowly with increasing the biased voltage, which is shown as a bump. In the next region, the current slightly increases with increasing the biased voltage until a sudden decrease of the current appears. Thereafter, branch structure forms with increasing the voltage on the IV characteristic. The influence of the self-heating on the IV characteristics is investigated and the temperature dependence of the IV characteristics is measured to explore these characteristics in detail.  相似文献

Current-voltage characteristics of the surface intrinsic Josephson junctions under a magnetic field parallel to CuO_2 planes have been studied experimentally. Fiske steps in such a junction have been observed. The Swihart velocity for the junction is found to be 7.2×10^5m/s, which corresponds to the velocity mode of a single junction.  相似文献

Modulated electronic state due to the layered crystal structures brings about moderate anisotropy of superconductivity in the iron-based superconductors and thus Abrikosov vortices are expected in the mixed state. However, based on the angular and temperature dependent transport measurements in iron-based superconductor Ca$_{10}$(Pt$_3$As$_8$)((Fe$_{0.9}$Pt$_{0.1}$)$_2$As$_2$)$_5$ with $T_{\rm c} \simeq 12$ K, we find clear evidences of a crossover from Abrikosov vortices to Josephson vortices at a crossover temperature $T^{\star} \simeq 7 $ K, when the applied magnetic field is parallel to the superconducting FeAs layers, i.e., the angle between the magnetic field and the FeAs layers $\theta = 0^\circ$. This crossover to Josephson vortices is demonstrated by an abnormal decrease (increase) of the critical current (flux-flow resistance) below $T^{\star}$, in contrast to the increase (decrease) of the critical current (flux-flow resistance) above $T^{\star}$ expected for Abrikosov vortices. Furthermore, when $\theta$ is larger than $0.5^\circ$, the flux-flow resistance and critical current have no anomalous behaviors across $T^{\star}$. These anomalous behaviors can be understood in terms of the distinct transition from the well-pinned Abrikosov vortices to the weakly-pinned Josephson vortices upon cooling, when the coherent length perpendicular to the FeAs layers $\xi_\bot$ becomes shorter than half of the interlayer distance $d/2$. These experimental findings indicate the existence of intrinsic Josephson junctions below $T^{\star}$ and thus quasi-two-dimensional superconductivity in Ca$_{10}$(Pt$_3$As$_8$)((Fe$_{0.9}$Pt$_{0.1}$)$_2$As$_2$)$_5$, similar to those in the cuprate superconductors.  相似文献

We present the design of a superconducting flux qubit with a large loop inductance. The large loop inductance is desirable for coupling between qubits. The loop is configured into a gradiometer form that could reduce the interference from environmental magnetic noise. A combined Josephson junction, i.e., a DC-SQUID is used to replace the small Josephson junction in the usual 3-JJ (Josephaon junction) flux qubit, leading to a tunable energy gap by using an independent external flux line. We perform numerical calculations to investigate the dependence of the energy gap on qubit parameters such as junction capacitance, critical current, loop inductance, and the ratio of junction energy between small and large junctions in the flux qubit. We suggest a range of values for the parameters.

This paper theoretically studies Josephson spin current through triplet superconductor/ferromagnet/triplet superconductor junctions. At the ferromagnet/superconductor interfaces, the ferromagnetic scattering potential gives rise to coupling between the Andreev bound states and lifts their spin degeneracy. These spin-split Andreev states carry the Josephson spin current through the junctions. The generated spin supercurrent can be controlled by the magnetization of a ferromagnetic thin layer and bias voltage across the junctions.  相似文献

This paper solves a self-consistent equation for the d-wave superconducting gap and the effective exchange field in the mean-field approximation, and studies the Zeeman effects on the d-wave superconducting gap and thermodynamic potential. The Josephson currents in the d-wave superconductor(S)/insulating layer(I)/d-wave S junctions are calculated as a function of the temperature, exchange field, and insulating barrier strength under a Zeeman magnetic field on the two d-wave Ss. It is found that the Josephson critical currents in d-wave S/d-wave S junction to a great extent depend on the relative orientation of the effective exchange field of the two S electrodes, and the crystal orientation of the d-wave S. The exchange field under certain conditions can enhance the Josephson critical current in a d-wave S/I/d-wave S junction.  相似文献

This paper deals with dynamical behaviours in an array composed of two resistive-capacitive-inductive-shunted (RCL-shunted) Josephson junctions (RCLSJJs) and a shunted resistor. Numerical simulations show that periodic, chaotic and hyperchaotic states can coexist in this array. Moreover, a scheme for controlling hyperchaos in this array is presented by adjusting the external bias current. Numerical results confirm that this scheme can be effectively used to control hyperchaotic states in this array into stable periodic states, and different stable periodic states with different period numbers can be obtained by appropriately choosing the intensity of the external bias current.  相似文献

Double-barrier highly asymmetric Nb–Al oxide–Al–Nb oxide–Nb structures with reproducible characteristics were fabricated. The heterocontacts with the middle Al layer thickness ranging from 4 to 6 nm exhibited a well-defined d.c. Josephson supercurrent Ic at 4.2 K and characteristic voltages Vc=IcRN (RN is the normal resistance, Vc defines the response time of the junction) from 0.3 to 0.4 mV. Two prominent features in the quasiparticle current–voltage curves have been observed: a so-called ‘knee' in the energy-gap region and an additional (to the linear voltage dependence) current at higher biases. They are discussed within a simple Landauer–Büttiker scattering approach to the phase-coherent quasiparticle transport in a quasiballistic S–I1–N–I2–S heterostructure with an extremely great difference between the barrier transparencies.  相似文献

Electromagnetic transport measurements were combined with high-resolution electron microscopy observations to study the relation between structure and local critical currents in YBa2Cu3O7–x (YBCO) Josephson junctions. The spatial variation of the critical current J(x) along the length of the boundary for interface engineered Josephson junctions and bicrystal grain boundary Josephson junctions was determined using a phase retrieval algorithm. The current distribution solutions were found to be highly uniform along the length of interface engineered junctions in contrast to solutions for grain boundary junctions. The latter showed significant spatial oscillations in the critical current as well as areas along the boundary that carried no current. Microstructural evaluation of interface engineered junctions fabricated using identical processing parameters to the junctions used for transport measurements suggest that the uniform current distribution is controlled by a highly uniform barrier layer formed between the superconducting electrodes. Microstructural evaluation of grain boundary junctions similar to the junctions used for transport measurements show considerable variations of the grain boundary structure within a single junction.  相似文献

Full gap closing is a prerequisite for hosting Majorana zero modes in Josephson junctions on the surface of topological insulators.Previously,we have observed direct experimental evidence of gap closing in Josephson junctions constructed on Bi_2Te_3 surface. In this paper we report further investigations on the position dependence of gap closing as a function of magnetic flux in single Josephson junctions constructed on Bi_2Te_3 surface.  相似文献

We investigate the Andreev tunneling and Josephson current in graphene irradiated with high-frequency linearly polarized light. The corresponding stroboscopic dynamics can be solved using Floquet mechanism which results in an effective stationary theory to the problem exhibiting an anisotropic Dirac spectrum and modified pseudospin-momentum locking. When applied to an irradiated normal graphene - superconductor (NS) interface, such analysis reveal Andreev reflection (AR) to become an oscillatory function of the optical strength. Specifically we find that, by varying the polarization direction we can both suppress AR considerably or cause the Andreev transport to remain maximum at sub-gap excitation energies even in the presence of Fermi level mismatch. Furthermore, we study the optical effect on the Andreev bound states (ABS) within a short normal-graphene sheet, sandwiched between two s-wave superconductors. It shows redistribution of the low energy regime in the ABS spectrum, which in turn, has major effect in shaping the Josephson super-current. Subjected to efficient tuning, such current can be sufficiently altered even at the charge neutrality point. Our observations provide useful feedback in regulating the quantum transport in Dirac-like systems, achieved via controlled off-resonant optical irradiation on them.  相似文献

A superconductor-topological insulator-superconductor (S/TI/S) junction having normal region at angle θ is studied theoretically to investigate the junction angle dependency of the Andreev reflection and the formation of the Andreev bound states in the step and planar S/TI/S structures. It is found that the Andreev reflection becomes θ dependent only in the presence of the potential barrier at the TI/S interface. In particular, the step and planar TI/S junction have totally different conductive behavior with bias voltage and potential barrier in the regime of retro and specular Andreev reflection. Interestingly, we find that the elliptical cross section of Dirac cone, an important feature of topological insulator with step surface defect, affects the Fabry-Perot resonance of the Andreev reflection induced Andreev bound states (which become Majorana zero energy states at low chemical potential) in the step S/TI/S structure. Unlike the usual planar S/TI/S structures, we find these ellipticity affected Andreev bound states lead to non-monotonic Josephson super-current in the step S/TI/S structure whose non-monotonicity can be controlled with the use of the potential barrier, which may find applications in nanoelectronics.  相似文献

We report on IV characteristics for in situ formed Nb/Au/(1 1 0)YBa2Cu3O7−δ (YBCO) Josephson junction, where the homoepitaxial (1 1 0)YBCO film shows ultra-smooth surface morphology. The field dependence of critical supercurrent Ic shows anisotropic large junction behavior with normal Fraunhofer patterns expected from BCS model of dx2y2 wave superconductors. This strongly suggests that the Nb/Au/(1 1 0)YBCO junctions cannot be regarded as atomic scaled corner junctions, in contrast with (0 0 1)/(1 1 0)YBCO grain boundary junctions to show “π-junction” with a pronounced dip near zero fields in field modulation of Ic.  相似文献

This paper shows that the Josephson coupling energy and the zero-point energy have indelible rules on the superfluid density and the superconductivity in the high-Tc cuprates. This paper also shows that the values of Tc at underdoped and overdoped regions are determined by the damage conditions of the phase coherence in the classical and the quantum XY-models, respectively.  相似文献

Extended Josephson junction driven by dc bias current is studied numerically. Two types of solutions, symmetrical and asymmetrical, are found. The current–voltage characteristic (IVC) is calculated. The symmetrical solutions form main hysteretic IVC and asymmetrical ones create an additional branch. Depending on the bias current value periodic, quasiperiodic and chaotic modes of the junction motion was observed. Dynamics of the junction affected by thermal fluctuations was analyzed. Stability of different states of the junction is discussed.  相似文献

We propose a new approach of smearing origins of a zero-bias conductance peak (ZBCP) in high-Tc superconductor tunnel junctions through the analysis based on the circuit theory for a d-wave pairing symmetry. The circuit theory has been recently developed from conventional superconductors to unconventional superconductors. The ZBCP frequently appears in line shapes for this theory, in which the total resistance was constructed by taking account of the effects between a d-wave superconductor and a diffusive normal metal (DN) at a junction interface, including the midgap Andreev resonant states (MARS), the coherent Andreev reflection (CAR) and the proximity effect. Therefore, we have analyzed experimental spectra with the ZBCP of Ag-SiO-Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ (Bi-2212) planar tunnel junctions for the {110}-oriented direction by using a simplified formula of the circuit theory for d-wave superconductors. The fitting results reveal that the spectral features of the ZBCP are well explained by the circuit theory not only excluding the Dynes's broadening factor but also considering only the MARS and the DN resistance. Thus, the ZBCP behaviors are understood to be consistent with those of recent studies on the circuit theory extended to the systems containing d-wave superconductor tunnel junctions.  相似文献
