The minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model (MSSM) predicts the existence of new charged and neutral Higgs bosons. The pair creation of these new particles at the multi-TeV e + e compact linear collider (CLIC), followed by decays into standard model particles, were simulated along with the corresponding background. High-energy beam-beam effects such as ISR, beamstrahlung and hadronic background were included. We have investigated the possibility of using the ratio between the number of events found in various decay channels to determine the MSSM parameter tan β and we have derived the corresponding statistical error from the uncertainties on the measured cross-sections and Higgs boson masses.   相似文献

During the twelve years of operation of thee + e collider LEP, the associated collaborations, ALEPH, DELPHI, L3 and OPAL, have extensively searched for Higgs bosons over a broad range of masses. We present the final results from LEP for the standard model Higgs boson which are obtained from a statistical combination of the data from the four experiments. We also present preliminary combined results for neutral Higgs bosons in the minimal supersymmetric model (MSSM) where the Higgs sector is assumed to be CP invariant. Finally, we discuss an alternative MSSM scenario including CP violation in the Higgs sector.  相似文献

Large higher-order corrections enter the Higgs boson sector of the MSSM via Higgs-boson self-energies. Their effects have to be taken into account for the correct treatment of loop-corrected Higgs-boson mass eigenstates as external (on-shell) or internal particles in Feynman diagrams. We review how the loop corrections, including momentum dependence and imaginary contributions, are correctly taken into account for external (on-shell) Higgs boson and how effective couplings can be derived. The procedures are implemented in the code FeynHiggs2.4.   相似文献

Recent theoretical developments concerning Higgs production at the large hadron collider are reviewed, both in the standard model and in the MSSM. Emphasis is put on the inclusive and exclusive cross-sections for gluon fusion, as well as on the associated production with bottom quarks.  相似文献

We explore the possibility of distinguishing the SM-like MSSM Higgs boson from the SM Higgs boson via Higgs boson pair production at future muon collider. We study the behavior of the production cross-section in SM and MSSM with Higgs boson mass for various MSSM parameters tan β and m A . We observe that at fixed CM energy, in the SM, the total cross-section increases with the increase in Higgs boson mass whereas this trend is reversed for the MSSM. The changes that occur for the MSSM in comparison to the SM predictions are quantified in terms of the relative percentage deviation in cross-section. The observed deviations in cross-section for different choices of Higgs boson masses suggest that the measurements of the cross-section could possibly distinguish the SM-like MSSM Higgs boson from the SM Higgs boson.   相似文献

To explain the anomalously large decay rate of Σ+→ p+μ+μ- , it was proposed that a new mechanism where a light CP-odd pseudoscalar boson of mA10 = 214.3 MeV makes a crucial contribution. Later, some authors have studied the transition π0→e+e- and Υ→γA10 in terms of the same mechanism and their result indicates that with the suggested mass one cannot fit the data. This discrepancy might be caused by experimental error of Σ+→p+μ+μ- because there were only a few events. Whether the mechanism is a reasonable one motivates us to investigate the transitions π0→e+e-; η(η′) →μ+μ- ; ηc→μ+μ- ;ηb→τ+τ- within the same framework. It is noted that for π0→e+e-, the standard model (SM) prediction is smaller than the data, whereas the experimental central value of η→μ+μ- is also above the SM prediction. It means that there should be extra contributions from other mechanisms and the contribution of A10 may be a possible one. Theoretically calculating the branching ratios of the concerned modes, we would check if we can obtain a universal mass for A10 which reconcile the theoretical predictions and data for all the modes. Unfortunately, we find that it is impossible to have such a mass with the same coupling |ge|. Therefore we conclude that the phenomenology does not favor such a light A10 , even though a small window is still open.  相似文献

The next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model(NMSSM)more naturally accommodates a Higgs boson with a mass of approximately 125 Ge V than the minimal supersymmetric standard model(MSSM).In this work,we assume that the next-to-lightest CP-even Higgs boson h2 is the SM-like Higgs boson h,whereas the lightest CP-even Higgs boson h_(1)is dominantly singlet-like.We discuss the h_1h_1,h_2h_2,and h_1h_(2)pair production processes via gluon-gluon fusion at the LHC for an collision energy of 14 Te V,and we consider the cases in which one Higgsboson decays to bˉb and the other decays toγγorτ~+τ~-.We find that, for m_(h1) 62 GeV,the cross section of the gg→h_1h_(1)process is relatively large and maximally reaches 5400 fb,and the production rate of the h_1h_1→bˉbτ~+τ~-final state can reach 1500 fb,which make the detection of this final state possible for future searches of an integrated luminosity of 300 and 3000 fb~(-1).This is mainly due to the contributions from the resonant production process pp→h_2→h_1h_(1)and the relatively large branching ratio of h_1→bb and h_1→τ~+τ~-.The cross sections of the pp→h_2h_2and pp→h_1h_2 production processes maximally reach 28 fb and 133 fb,respectively.  相似文献

The principal physics motivation of the LHC experiments is to search for the Higgs boson and to probe the physics of TeV energy scale. Potential of discovery for Higgs bosons in various scenarios beyond standard model have been estimated for both CMS and ATLAS experiments through detailed detector simulations. Main results from the recently published studies of CMS collaboration are only included in this write-up. on behalf of the ATLAS and CMS Collaborations  相似文献

We outline several improvements to the experimental analyses carried out at Tevatron (Run 2) or simulated in view of the large hadron collider (LHC) that could increase the scope of CDF/D0 and ATLAS/CMS in detecting charged Higgs bosons.  相似文献

I briefly review the Higgs sector in the standard model (SM) and its minimal aupersymmetric extension, the MSSM. After summarizing the properties of the Higgs bosons and the present experimental constraints, I will discuss the prospects for discovering these particle at the upgraded Tevatron, the large hadron collider (LHC) and a high-energye + e linear collider. The possibility of studying the properties of the Higgs particles will be then summarized.  相似文献

A wide class of Higgs sectors is investigated in supersymmetric standard models. When the lightest Higgs boson (h  ) looks the standard model one, the mass (mhmh) and the triple Higgs boson coupling (the hhh   coupling) are evaluated at the one-loop level in each model. While mhmh is at most 120–130 GeV in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), that in models with an additional neutral singlet or triplet fields can be much larger. The hhh coupling can also be sensitive to the models: while in the MSSM the deviation from the standard model prediction is not significant, that can be 30–60% in some models such as the MSSM with the additional singlet or with extra doublets and charged singlets. These models are motivated by specific physics problems like the μ-problem, the neutrino mass, the scalar dark matter and so on. Therefore, when h   is found at the CERN Large Hadron Collider, we can classify supersymmetric models by measuring mhmh and the hhh coupling accurately at future collider experiments.  相似文献

The latest unsuccessful Higgs searches at LEP have pushed its mass well into the domain where significant signals can be expected from the LHC experiments. The most sensitive LHC Higgs signatures are reviewed and the discovery year is estimated as a function of the Higgs mass. Finally, we give some ideas about: ‘What might be known about the production and decays of a SM Higgs boson’ after 10 years of LHC?  相似文献

In the parameter space allowed by the electroweak precision measurement data, we consider the contributions of the new particles predicted by the littlest Higgs model to the Higgs boson associated production with top quark pair in the future high energy linear e+e- collider (ILC). We find that the contributions mainly come from the new gauge bosons ZH and BH. For reasonable values of the free parameters, the absolute value of the relative correction parameter δσ/σSM can be significanly large, which might be observed in the future ILC experiment with √{S}=800 GeV.  相似文献

The large hadron collider (LHC) and its detectors, ATLAS and CMS, are being built to study TeV scale physics, and to fully understand the electroweak symmetry breaking mechanism. The Monte-Carlo simulation results for the standard model and minimal super symmetric standard model Higgs boson searches and parameter measurements are discussed. Emphasis is placed on recent investigations of Higgs produced in association with top quarks and in vector boson fusion channels. These results indicate that Higgs sector can be explored in many channels within a couple of years of LHC operation, i.e.,L = 30 fb−1. Complete coverage including measurements of Higgs parameters can be carried out with full LHC program.  相似文献

In this talk I discuss some aspects of CP violation (CPV) in supersymmetry (SUSY) as well as in the Higgs sector. Further, I discuss ways in which these may be probed at hadronic colliders. In particular I will point out the ways in which studies in the sector at the Tevatron may be used to provide information on this and how the search can be extended to the LHC. I will then follow this by a discussion of the CP mixing induced in the Higgs sector due to the above-mentioned CPV in the soft SUSY breaking parameters and its effects on the Higgs phenomenology at the LHC. I would then point out some interesting aspects of the phenomenology of a moderately light charged Higgs boson, consistent with the LEP constraints, in this scenario. Decay of such a charged Higgs boson would also allow a probe of a light (≲50 GeV), CP-violating (CPV) Higgs boson. Such a light neutral Higgs boson might have escaped detection at LEP and could also be missed at the LHC in the usual search channels.  相似文献

We investigated the neutral Higgs boson pair production at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in the SM with four families. We found that the gluon-gluon fusion mode is the most dominant one in producing neutral Higgs boson pair at the LHC, and it can be used to probe the trilinear Higgs coupling. If the heavy quarks of the fourth generation really exist within the SM, they can manifest their effect on the cross section of the Higgs pair production process at the LHC. Our numerical results show that there will be 2×104 neutral Higgs boson pair production events per year if the next generation heavy quarks really exist, while there will be only 2×103 events produced per year if there are only three families in the SM.  相似文献

In this talk I discuss a few selected topics in Higgs phenomenology at the LHC. After some brief remarks on the standard model Higgs I turn to more novel possibilities, discussing a heavy Higgs scenario, a light Higgs scenario and a no Higgs scenario. In the case of the light Higgs, I discuss briefly the physics opportunities afforded if it becomes possible to detect low angle scattered protons at the LHC.  相似文献

The experiments at the large hadron collider (LHC) will probe for Higgs boson in the mass range between the lower bound on the Higgs mass set by the experiments at the large electron positron collider (LEP) and the unitarity bound (∼1 TeV). Strategies are being developed to look for signatures of Higgs boson and measure its properties. In this paper results from full detector simulation-based studies on Higgs discovery from both ATLAS and CMS experiments at the LHC will be presented. Results of simulation studies on Higgs coupling measurement at LHC will be discussed. on behalf of the CMS and the ATLAS Collaborations  相似文献
