Continuous wave laser time-averaged type holographic interferometry has long been used for the analysis of structural vibrations. The exposure time is usually much larger than the vibration period. The brightest interference fringe corresponds with the nodal region, i.e. that portion of the surface that remains stationary during exposure. The application of the technique is, however, like all continuous wave laser holography, limited to structures that can be observed in a vibration free environment.The output of a ruby laser oscillator in use at Marchwood Engineering Laboratories (MEL) consists of a random series of spikes contained in an envelope of about 800 μ. The coherence length of the output is greater than 1 m. Use of this output allows the production of time-averaged holograms in unstable environments. Due to the random nature of the output, the fringes are not readily quantifiable but show the characteristic bright zero-order fringe of continuous wave time-averaged holography.  相似文献

The autocorrelation of a modulated coherent light source is used as a probe pulse in a time-domain interferometry scheme. With respect to conventional techniques, higher flexibility in selecting the shape of the probe pulse can be achieved by simply acting on the modulation parameters. The complex amplitude of short pulses propagating through a generic optical device can be directly measured, with no need for fast sampling and time synchronization. The potentialities of the technique are shown by reporting measurements of amplitude distortion, group delay, and frequency chirp of optical pulses transmitted through integrated ring resonators.  相似文献

A new technique (to our knowledge), for the measurement of residual wedge angle (RWA) of high optical quality transparent nearly parallel plate (PP), using a quasi-monochromatic light source, is presented. Advantages and drawbacks of the technique and the results obtained for a PP, using a filtered white light source, is discussed. A slightly modified optical setup for accurate determination of RWA, using phase shifting interferometry (PSI), has been described. Results obtained, applying PSI, for a validation experiment and for the determination of RWA of a quasi-PP is presented. The PSI based technique does not suffer from any measurement ambiguities due to limitation in effective beam aperture. Hence the technique is suitable for high accuracy measurement of RWA of PP. In both the optical setups, presented in this paper, the respective interfering beams travel the same optical circuit and are thus subject to same perturbation in optical path, due to external mechanical vibration, which finally cancels out. Thus the measurements are much less affected by external vibrations. Since the respective interfering beams undergo identical reflections and transmissions, the visibility or contrast of the interference fringes is very good.  相似文献

Pulsed digital holographic interferometry has been used to investigate the plume and the shock wave generated in the ablation process of a Q-switched Nd-YAG (λ=1064 nm and pulse duration=12 ns) laser pulse on a polycrystalline boron nitride (PCBN) target under atmospheric air pressure. A special setup based on two synchronised wavelengths from the same laser for simultaneous processing and measurement has been used. Digital holograms were recorded for different time delays using collimated laser light (λ=532 nm) passed through the volume along the target. Numerical data of the integrated refractive index field were calculated and presented as phase maps showing the propagation of the shock wave and the plume generated by the process. Radon inversion has been used to estimate the 3D refractive index fields measured from the projections assuming rotational symmetry. The shock wave density has been calculated using the point explosion model and the shock wave condition equation and its behaviour with time at different power densities ranging from 1.4 to 9.1 GW/cm2 is presented. Shock front densities have been calculated from the reconstructed refractive index fields using the Gladstone–Dale equation. A comparison of the shock front density calculated from the reconstructed data and that calculated using the point explosion model at different time delays has been done. The comparison shows quite good agreement between the model and the experimental data. Finally the reconstructed refractive index field has been used to estimate the electron number density distribution within the laser-induced plasma. The electron number density behaviour with distance from the target at different power densities and its behaviour with time are shown. The electron number densities are found to be in the order of 1018 cm?3 and decay at a rate of 3×1015 electrons/cm3 ns.  相似文献

Based on representing parameters of the pulsed signals by discrete and continuous Markov processes, we synthesize adaptive algorithms and devices for joint nonlinear filtering of parameters of the pulsed correlated signals, whose operation does not require knowledge of a priori statistical data about the filtered process during reception. Quasi-energies are calculated for a system containing two nondegenerate electronic terms interacting with a one-dimensional harmonic oscillator. The energetic structure of such model of a molecule is shown to have quasi-intersections connected with the appearance of new adiabatic surfaces in a strong light field. In the vicinity of a quasi-intersection sharp changes of a molecular wave function, dipole moment and inversion take place.  相似文献

针对准单色近平行光束X射线背光成像诊断需求,提出了一种用球面弯晶进行X射线衍射选单从而获取准直光束的新方案.在神光Ⅱ装置上,设计了基于球面弯晶X射线衍射选单准直光束系统,完成了该系统的安装、调试和实验应用,获得了准单色(10~(-3)△λ/λ10~(-2))、小发散角(2 mrad)和大辐照匀斑(直径φ500 m)的X射线光源.同时基于衍射光学和球面镜成像理论,研究了不同布拉格角对球面弯晶X射线衍射光束发散角及其像散差的影响.结果表明,布拉格角会影响球面弯晶X射线衍射光束的发散角.用控制布拉格角范围的方法有望获得发散角优于1 mrad的近平行光束X射线光源.这种准单色、极小发散度和均匀角分布的X射线光源可应用于高分辨X射线成像诊断.  相似文献

提出一种涡流脉冲多普勒信号的计算机仿真方法,产生了各种给定条件下的仿真涡流多普勒信号。对这些仿真信号进行短时傅里叶分析,求出相应的最大频率、平均频率和频谱宽度等曲线。通过研究这些曲线得到的频谱参数和仿真时给定的采样容积位置、采样容积大小、涡流中心间距、无涡流血流速度、涡流最大旋转速度之间的联系,找出利用脉冲多普勒技术检测涡流的敏感参数。  相似文献

We demonstrate that dual-channel spectral interferometry in conjunction with a well-characterized reference pulse can be used to time resolve the polarization state of extremely weak ultrashort coherent signals from linear-and nonlinear-optical experiments by measuring the intensity and the phase of two orthogonal polarization components. A model of a pulsed signal in the form of a superposition of elementary nonstationary signals is considered. The parameters of such a superposition are chosen so that signal amplitude A(t) strongly varies with time. For such a signal, the analytic expression for the Gabor transform (GT) and continuous wavelet transform (CWT) using the mother Morlet wavelet are analyzed. A criterion is proposed for the matched behaviors of GT and CWT with signal amplitude A(t). The advantages of the CWT adaptively selecting the window size over the GT whose explicit form depends on the window size are demonstrated. The proposed method can be used for analysis of many transient stages of time-dependent signals in various branches of physics.  相似文献

Four-wave coherent mixing models for two quasi-monochromatic pumping fields and pulses of a two-component Stokes field with an elliptic polarization and a duration on the order of the period of oscillations have been derived for a two-level medium with a forbidden dipole transition. It is shown that, under the unidirectional wave propagation conditions and in the absence of depletion of pumping, the system of Maxwell-Bloch equations can be reduced to a new completely integrable system of equations. Nonsoliton radiation dynamics of generation of Stokes field pulses is studied in the framework of the integrable reduction of this model. The apparatus for the inverse problem algorithm corresponding to the solvable problem is developed. An approximate asymptotic expression for the leading front of the pulse packet being generated is obtained for various initial and boundary conditions. The application of these results for describing parametric processes involving various types of waves is discussed.  相似文献

The formulae for the momentum of quasi-monochromatic wave packets of transverse and longitudinal waves in a plasma without a magnetic field are derived including the terms of the second order in the amplitude of the electromagnetic field. The well-known increase of the momentum of the transverse wave penetrating into the plasma is given by the momentum (transported with the group velocity of the wave) of the averaged motion of the plasma. Pulsed digital holographic interferometry has been used to study the effect of the laser spot diameter on the shock wave generated in the ablation process of an Nd:YAG laser pulse on a Zn target under atmospheric pressure. For different laser spot diameters and time delays, the propagation of the expanding vapour and of the shock wave were recorded by intensity maps calculated using the recorded digital holograms. From the latter, the phase maps, the refractive index and the density field can be derived. A model was developed that approaches the density distribution, in particular the ellipsoidal expansion characteristics. The induced shock wave has an ellipsoid shape that approaches a sphere for decreasing spot diameter. The ellipsoidal shock waves have almost the same centre offset towards the laser beam and the same aspect ratio for different time steps. The model facilitates the derivation of the particle velocity field. The method provides valuable quantitative results that are discussed, in particular in comparison with the simpler point source explosion theory.  相似文献

Pulsed digital holographic interferometry has been used to compare the laser ablation process of a Q-switched Nd-YAG laser pulse (wavelength 1064 nm, pulse duration 12 ns) on two different metals (Zn and Ti) under atmospheric air pressure. Digital holograms were recorded for different time delays using collimated laser light (532 nm) passed through the volume along the target. Numerical data of the integrated refractive index field were calculated and presented as phase maps. Intensity maps were calculated from the recorded digital holograms and are used to calculate the attenuation of the probing laser beam by the ablated plume. The different structures of the plume, namely streaks normal to the surface for Zn in contrast to absorbing regions for Ti, indicates that different mechanisms of laser ablation could happen for different metals for the same laser settings and surrounding gas. At a laser fluence of 5 J/cm2, phase explosion appears to be the ablation mechanism in case of Zn, while for Ti normal vaporization seems to be the dominant mechanism.  相似文献

The influence of the skin effect on single and triple (spin echo) gamma detected pulsed NMRON signals is calculated using a density matrix approach within a pure Zeeman manifold. For single pulse NMRON the turn angle dependences of the signals for uniform and exponential profiles of the resonant nuclei are presented for a typical inhomogeneous broadening applicable to intermediate mass impurities in ferromagnetic hosts. For triple pulse NMRON the baseline and principal spin echo amplitudes for equal resonant rf pulses are presented for the same inhomogeneous broadening. It is found that the skin effect leads to the form of pulsed NMRON signals that are in accord with experiment.  相似文献

Large-area pulsed laser deposition (PLD) producing high-quality YBa2Cu3O7-x (YBCO) thin films on both sides of R-plane sapphire substrates with CeO2 buffer layer is used routinely to optimize planar microwave stripline filters for satellite and mobile communication systems. A relatively simple PLD arrangement with fixed laser plume and rotating substrate, with an offset between the laser plume and the center of the substrate is employed to deposit laterally homogeneous 3-inch-diameter Ag-doped YBCO thin films. The YBCO:Ag films are about 250 nm thick and have laterally homogeneous critical current densities of more than 3.5 MA/cm2 at 77 K and homogeneous maps of microwave surface resistance Rs of about 40 m Q at 145 GHz and 77 K. The Rs at 8.5 GHz and 77 K, determined in the center position of the YBCO:Ag films, remains constant at about 370 7 Q up to a microwave surface magnetic field of about 10 mT. After experience with more than 700 double-sided 3-inch-diameter films, a high degree of homogeneity and reproducibility of jc and Rs is reached. The PLD-YBCO:Ag films are suitable for microwave applications envisaged for future communication systems.  相似文献
