A random, quantum model of interacting spins, where the spin operators are represented by bilinear combinations of fermions, is studied in the Ising limit and in the static approximation. Assuming replica symmetry we recover basically the results of Sherrington and Kirkpatrick. Effects of quantum fluctuations remain in the determination of the static susceptibility χ as an independent order parameter and the breakdown of the Fischer relation.  相似文献

In an attempt to understand Murani's neutron scattering results from the spin glass AuFe, we have calculated the wavevector dependent susceptibility χ(q), using the approach pioneered by Edwards and Anderson. We find that Edwards Anderson type of approach fails to account for the neutron scattering data.  相似文献

Systems driven and characterized by fluctuations in density and magnetization can be realistically modeled using the Blume–Emery–Griffiths model; a spin-1 Ising model with bilinear, biquadratic, and crystal-field interactions. In this study, renormalization-group techniques are used on an exactly solvable system in which frustration is present due to competing ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic interactions. Thus, this calculation models a spin-glass system with annealed vacancies. To determine the effects of these competing bilinear interactions, an exactly solvable frustrated hierarchical model has been constructed, similar to those introduced to study spin glasses [S.R. McKay, A.N. Berker, S. Kirkpatrick, Phys. Rev. Lett. 48 (1982) 767]. Phase diagrams have been calculated for a series of planes of constant biquadratic coupling while varying the temperature and concentration of annealed vacancies in the system. In addition, a phase diagram was produced for constant concentration of annealed vacancies as the biquadratic coupling (i.e. clustering bias) was varied. Each phase diagram reveals three qualitatively unique basins of attraction, each corresponding to a phase distinguished by a unique renormalization-group trajectory. The sink of each trajectory is interpreted to determine the nature of each phase: dense paramagnetic, dilute paramagnetic and spin-glass.  相似文献

We use an effective field method to analyze the thermodynamic behavior of an Ising metamagnet in uniform and random magnetic fields. Depending on the strength of the random fields, we show that the phase diagram displays a tricritical point and reentrant second-order transition lines. This reentrance is due to the competition between uniform and random interactions.  相似文献

We report computations of the short- and long-distance (scaling) contributions to the square-lattice Ising susceptibility. Both computations rely on summation of correlation functions, obtained using nonlinear partial difference equations. In terms of a temperature variable tau, linear in T/Tc-1, the short-distance terms have the form tau(p)(ln/tau/)q with p> or =q2. A high- and low-temperature series of N = 323 terms, generated using an algorithm of complexity O(N6), are analyzed to obtain the scaling part, which when divided by the leading /tau/(-7/4) singularity contains only integer powers of tau. Contributions of distinct irrelevant variables are identified and quantified at leading orders /tau/(9/4) and /tau/(17/4).  相似文献

A suitably modified Wolff single-cluster Monte Carlo simulation has been performed to investigate the critical behavior of a two-dimensional Ising model with temperature-dependent annealed bond dilution, also known as the thermalized bond Ising model, which is intended to simulate the thermal excitations of electronic bond degrees of freedom as in covalently bonded network liquids. A finite-size scaling analysis of the susceptibility and the fourth-order cumulant, results in a reliable estimation of the critical exponents in the thermodynamic limit. The exponents are found to be consistent with those predicted by the Fisher renormalization relations, despite the well known violations of the renormalization relations when approximate methods such as real space renormalization group are employed to investigate two-dimensional Ising model with annealed bond dilution, and the temperature variation of the bond concentration in thermalized bond model system.  相似文献

In this paper we study the critical behavior of a two-sublattice Ising model on an anisotropic square lattice in both uniform longitudinal (H  ) and transverse (ΩΩ) fields by using the effective-field theory. The model consists of ferromagnetic interaction Jx in the x direction and antiferromagnetic interaction Jy in the y direction in the presence of the H   and ΩΩ fields. We obtain the phase diagrams in the H–THT and Ω–TΩT planes changing values of the ΩΩ and H   parameters, respectively for fixed value at λ=Jx/Jy=1λ=Jx/Jy=1. At null temperature, the ground state phase diagram in the Ω–HΩH plane for several values of λλ parameter is analyzed. In the particular case of λ=1λ=1 we compare our results with mean-field theory (MFT) and was not observed reentrant behavior around of the critical field Hc/Jy=2.0Hc/Jy=2.0 for Ω=0Ω=0 by using EFT.  相似文献

In this study, the sound attenuation coefficient of a spin- metamagnetic Ising system is calculated by the method of thermodynamics of irreversible processes. The behavior of sound attenuation near the phase transition temperatures is analyzed according to various values of phenomenological rate coefficients (γij). For all γm and γs values it is found that sound attenuation peaks occur below TN(H) and depend on frequency ω and the value of the off-diagonal rate coefficient γ. On the other hand, the critical behavior of the sound attenuation in the hydrodynamic regime is obtained analytically via the critical exponents. Moreover, the behavior of the sound attenuation as a function of frequency is also investigated and ω2 dependence is observed for the attenuation coefficient. These results are in a good agreement with ultrasonic investigations of magnetic systems.  相似文献

A Mössbauer time window has been positively used for studying the behavior of spins in Fe x Mn1?x TiO3 withx=0.50, 0.60 and 0.65 which are of typical Ising spin-glass systems. Spin dynamics aboveT SG andT N (RSG) (definition is given in the text) are discussed. In the RSG samples, the existence of contributions of the transverse spin component to the hyperfine fields is pointed out.  相似文献
