The equations of electrodynamics in a rotating isotropic homogeneous dielectric are obtained in a covariant form in coordinates of a reference frame that accompanies the rotation of the dielectric. It is found from these equations, which have variable coefficients, that the medium of the rotating dielectric is anisotropic and inhomogeneous. To derive tensors of the electromagnetic field in a rotating reference frame (RRF), the fields and inductions of a virtual inertial reference frame (IRF) that instantaneously accompanies the motion of one of the points of the dielectric are used twice. Initially, using instantaneous local relations, they are expressed in terms of real fields and inductions of the rotating medium, and then they are transformed into fields and inductions of a stationary IRF, in which they are used as components of the tensors of the electromagnetic field. Thus, the electromagnetic field tensors in the IRF are determined taking into account a priori unknown real inhomogeneous permittivity \(\bar \varepsilon \) and permeability \(\bar \varepsilon \) of the rotating medium. At the final stage, the tensors in the RRF are obtained by transformation rules for covariant and contravariant tensor components in accordance with known analytical relationships of fixed and rotating coordinates. The properties of modes of a rotating ring resonator in the form of homogeneous TE waves that travel along and against the direction of rotation and, in particular, their normal frequencies are examined. The contribution of inhomogeneous properties of the medium of a rotating dielectric to the difference between the normal frequencies of the counterpropagating waves (to the Sagnac effect) is determined. In a solid material with known elastic and striction characteristics, its density and dielectric permittivity depend on the radial coordinate. These dependences are caused by the action of the centrifugal force and changes in the polarization and magnetization of the medium because of the rotational motion of charged particles. The coordinate dependences of permittivity \(\bar \varepsilon \) and permeability \(\bar \varepsilon \) make additional contributions to the inhomogeneous properties of the medium of the rotating dielectric and to the Sagnac effect.  相似文献

We investigate a hybrid optomechanical system consisting of two coupled cavities, one of them is composed of two-end fixed mirrors(called the traditional cavity), and the other has a one-end oscillating mirror(named as the optomechanical eavity). A Kerr medium is inside the traditional cavity to enhance the nonlinearity due to the fact that it can cause observing of bistable behavior in intracavity intensity for the optomechanical cavity.The Hamiltonian of the system is written in a rotating frame and its dynamics is described by quantum Langevin equations of motion. Our proposed s.ystem exhibits unconventional plots for the mean photon number of the optomechanical cavity which are not observed in previous works. The present results show a deep effect of the Kerr medium on optical bistability of intracavity intensity for the optomechanical cavity. Also, coupling strength of the cavities can effectively change the stability of the system.  相似文献

运用全量子理论并结合数值计算方法,研究了克尔介质腔中处于贝尔态的两个全同二能级纠缠原子与双模纠缠相干光场相互作用系统的光子统计特性。讨论了双原子体系的初态、初始光场的平均光子数、双模纠缠相干光场的纠缠程度以及克尔介质与双模光场的耦合强度对光子统计特性的影响。结果表明:忽略克尔介质的作用时,只有当双原子体系的初态为0β1〉或1β1〉时,在一定的条件下才可出现光子的反聚束效应,而当双原子体系的初态为β00〉、1β0〉时,光场在其演化过程中不出现光子的反聚束效应。而当考虑克尔介质的作用时,四种初态下光场演化过程中均有可能出现光子的反聚束效应。光子的反聚束效应出现的次数、时间和深度极其敏感地依赖于初始光场的平均光子数和克尔介质与双模光场的耦合强度,同时也受到双模纠缠光场的纠缠程度的影响。  相似文献

Modulation of light by ultrasound in turbid media is investigated by modified public domain software based on the Monte Carlo algorithm. Apart from the recognized modulation mechanisms, originating in scatterers' displacements and refractive index modulation, an additional mechanism, evolving from Doppler shift during photon scattering, is considered. Comparison of the relative contributions from all three mechanisms to light modulation by ultrasound is performed for different medium scattering properties and ultrasound frequencies. Refractive index modulation remains the strongest mechanism for light modulation by ultrasound, but for high ultrasound frequencies and for large scattering coefficients the Doppler effect can become dominant.  相似文献

It was shown that if an additional emission of a superradiance pulse by a medium occurs after an initial exciting pulse, two-pulse photon echoes are formed at a different frequencies and at a new time as compared to an ordinary medium. The radiation spectrum of a photon bunch with the energy E = mc 2γ = 4 GeV channeled in the (110) plane of a diamond single crystal is calculated numerically, taking into account the inhomogeneous polarization of the medium. Features of the spectrum in the extreme soft region of frequencies are obtained. Characteristics of the calculated spectrum are in agreement with the experimental data obtained in the hard region of frequencies.  相似文献

We have established the master equation for the micromaser with a Kerr medium,we have studied the photon statics of the micromaser with a Kerr medium field and analysed the influence of the Kerr effect on the photon statistics,The influence of the Kerr effect on the photon statistics is different in two regimes,In the thermal-atom regime,the Kerr effect produces quantum noise,and decreases the mean photon number.In the ultracold-atom regime,with the increase of the nonlinear parameter of the Kerr medium,the stability of the mean photon number and the normalized variance enhances the mean photon number,and the normalized variance exhibits collapse-revival phenomena periodically,their resonance peaks become lower,and the photon statistics of more and more regions are sub-Poissonian.  相似文献

利用全量子理论,在非旋波近似下,对与级联型三能级原子相互作用的二项式光场的光场压缩效应和原子布居几率进行了精确求解.讨论了二项式光场参量η对光场压缩效应的影响,同时也讨论了二项式态光场的最大光子数M对原子布居几率的影响.数值计算结果表明:随着二项式光场参量η的增大,光场压缩效应的持续时间先增大后减小.在非旋波近似下,由于虚光子的影响,光场压缩效应的演化曲线出现了“小锯齿状”的振荡;随着二项式光场的最大光子数M的增大,原子布居几率回复塌缩周期逐渐增大,并且原子布居几率在塌缩区不能完全塌缩,而是出现了“小锯齿状”的振荡.另外文中也讨论了非旋波项对系统量子特性的影响.  相似文献

With the concept of negative photon and the K-photon J C model, we investigate analytically the effect of virtual photon field on the collapse revival effect of atomic inversion and squeezing of atom, we find that there is a significant effect of virtual photon field on atomic inversion and squeezing of atom; with the one-photon model as an example, we find that the squeezing of atom occurs periodically, the time and times of squeezing are only related to the resonance frequency and the amplitude of squeezing related to coupling constant of atom field, mean photon number and resonance frequency; also we show that the effect of squeezing of atom does not exist within rotating wave approximation if K≥3. Taking the approach of nearest-neighboring spectrum in the quantum chaos field, we investigate the properties of energy spectrum in one-photon JC model and show that the integrable region,non-integrable region and transition region of this system can be illustrated by a phase diagram;also we discuss the influence of interaction of atoms on spectrum and Δ3 statistics of adjacent energy levels, we find that the influence of interaction is little obvious in strong field but takes great important role in weak field.  相似文献

Slow light supported by electromagnetically induced transparency effect in dispersive medium is extremely susceptible with respect to Doppler detuning.In this paper,the Doppler effect induced by rotating dispersive medium was considered and the effect of the velocity of rotating dispersive medium on the group velocity was studied.Based on a dispersive slow-light medium,a high sensitive optical rotation sensor for measuring absolute rotation is proposed and analysed.The sensitivity of the rotation sensor is the group delay between the counterpropagationed wave packets in the device,and scales directly with square of the group index which can reach 10 2-10 8 orders of magnitude by selecting a proper dispersive medium.  相似文献

We theoretically and experimentally investigate a switchable spin Hall effect (SHE) of light in reflection near the Brewster angle at an air-uniaxial crystal interface. We find a large transverse spin splitting near the Brewster angle, whose sign can be altered by rotating the optical axis. As an analogy of the SHE in an electronic system, a switchable spin accumulation in the SHE of light is detected. We are able to switch the direction of the spin accumulation by adjusting the optical axis angle of the uniaxial crystal. These findings may give opportunities for photon spin manipulating and developing a new generation of nano-photonic devices.  相似文献

The polarization bremsstrahlung of a fast charged particle in a medium is considered for the case where the conditions for two resonances are satisfied simultaneously: the photon frequency is close to the frequency of one of the transitions of the medium atom, and the permittivity of the medium at this frequency meets the conditions of appearance of Cerenkov radiation. As this takes place, the radiation intensity becomes three or four orders of magnitude higher than that associated with the frequency band within which the bremsstrahlung photon energy exceeds the ionization energy of the atom. Estimates are made for an experiment performed on a gas atomic parahelium at frequencies close to that of the 1s-2p transition.  相似文献

在非旋波近似下,利用相干态正交化展开方法,对相干态光场与Λ型三能级原子相互作用的量子场熵进行了精确求解.利用量子熵理论讨论了耦合强度、平均光子数以及初始时刻原子处于不同的能级对量子纠缠的影响.数值计算的结果表明:当初始时刻原子处于激发态时,量子纠缠在较短的时间内就能演化到最大值,随着平均光子数的增大,纠缠演化的周期性逐渐明显|原子初始时刻处于三个能级的叠加态会使初始阶段量子纠缠显著降低|与旋波近似下的结果不同的是,随着耦合强度以及平均光子数的增加,非旋波项的贡献显著增强,使得量子纠缠演化曲线出现小锯齿状的振荡.  相似文献

We report on a test of Lorentz invariance performed by comparing the resonance frequencies of one stationary optical resonator and one continuously rotating on a precision air bearing turntable. Special attention is paid to the control of rotation induced systematic effects. Within the photon sector of the standard model extension, we obtain improved limits on combinations of 8 parameters at a level of a few parts in 10(-16). For the previously least well known parameter we find [EQUATION: SEE TEXT]. Within the Robertson-Mansouri-Sexl test theory, our measurement restricts the isotropy violation parameter [EQUATION: SEE TEXT]. corresponding to an eightfold improvement with respect to previous nonrotating measurements.  相似文献

If a scalar field incorporating a photon/environment interaction exists in nature, it should be possible to create a photon medium by focusing intense laser beams either in a vacuum or in a plasma. Such a medium should sustain many of the non-linear optical effects observable in material media. Techniques are proposed for verifying the existence of a photon medium via its effect on both the velocity of light and the scattering of light by light in intense laser beams.  相似文献

We investigate mesoscopic transport through a system that consists of a central quantum dot (QD) and two single-wall carbon nanotube (SWCN) leads in the presence of a rotating magnetic field. The spin-flip effect is induced by the rotating magnetic field, and the tunnelling current is sensitively related to the spin-flip effect. We present the calculations of charge and spin current components to show the intimate relations to the SWCN leads. Zeeman effect is important when the applied magnetic field is strong enough. The current characteristics are quite different when the source-drain bias is zero (eV=0) and nonzero (eV≠0). The asymmetric peak and valley of spin current versus gate voltage exhibit Fano resonance. Multi-resonant peaks of spin current versus photon energy ħω reflect the structure of CN quantum wires, as well as the resonant photon absorption and emission effect. The matching-mismatching of channels in the CN leads and QD results in novel spin current structure by tuning the frequency.  相似文献

电路量子电动力学的实验实现了光与人造原子的超强耦合相互作用, 相互作用强度与光场频率在同一个数量级.在超强耦合区域, 著名的旋波近似失效, 因此系统的动力学必须用含有反旋波项的Rabi模型描述.本文研究Rabi模型中的光场压缩.数值模拟结果发现, 光场压缩不是随耦合强度线性增加, 而是在合适的超强区域获得最大值.同时, 我们还发现, 较小的反旋波项有助于提高光场压缩.所得结果有利于实验上在超强区域中制备所需的压缩态. 关键词: Rabi模型 超强耦合 光场压缩  相似文献

A new method of Monte Carlo simulation is developed to simulate the photon migration path in a scattering medium after an ultrashort-pulse laser beam comes into the medium.The most probable trajectory of photons at an instant can be obtained with this method.How the photon migration paths are affected by the optical parameters of the scattering medium is analyzed.It is also concluded that the absorption coefficient has no effect on the most probable trajectory of photons.  相似文献

Recently demonstrated ghost interference using correlated photons of different frequencies, has been theoretically analyzed. The calculation predicts an interesting nonlocal effect: the fringe width of the ghost interference depends not only on the wave-length of the photon involved, but also on the wavelength of the other photon with which it is entangled. This feature, arising because of different frequencies of the entangled photons, was hidden in the original ghost interference experiment. This prediction can be experimentally tested in a slightly modified version of the experiment.  相似文献
