A new simple and rapid FI method for the accurate and precise spectrophotometric determination of ascorbic acid (AsA) in pharmaceutical formulations is reported. The method is based on the reduction of Fe(III) to Fe(II) by the analyte, and the subsequent reaction of the produced Fe(II) with 2,2'-dipyridyl-2-pyridylhydrazone (DPPH) in acidic medium (pH ca. 2.5) to form a colored complex (lambda(max)=535 nm). An on-line dilution mode using a binary inlet static mixer (BISM) was incorporated in the FI system, allowing the determination of the analyte in a wide concentration range. The calibration graph was linear in the range of 5.7-600.0 mg l(-1) AsA, at a sampling rate of 120 injections h(-1). The method was found to be very precise [s(r)=0.1% at 300 mg l(-1) AsA (n=12)] and the 3delta detection limit (c(L)=1.7 mg l(-1)) was quite satisfactory. The detailed study of various interferences confirmed the high selectivity of the proposed method. Its application to a variety of pharmaceuticals produced excellent results, with a mean relative error of e(r)<1.0%.  相似文献

The H-point standard addition method (HPSAM) was applied to kinetic data for simultaneous determination of Fe(III) and Fe(II) or selective determination of Fe(III) in the presence of Fe(II). The method is based on the difference in the rate of two processes; reduction of Fe(III) with Co(II) and subsequent complex formation of resulted Fe(II) with 1,10-phenanthroline, and direct complex formation between Fe(II) and 1,10-phenanthroline in pH 3 and cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide, CTAB, micellar media. Fe(III) can be determined in the range of 0.75-5.13 mug ml(-1)with satisfactory accuracy and precision in the presence of excess Fe(II) under working conditions. The proposed method was successfully applied to the simultaneous determination of Fe(III) and Fe(II) and also to the selective determination of Fe(III) in the presence of Fe(II) in several synthetic mixtures containing different concentration ratios of Fe(III) to Fe(II).  相似文献

The present work reports a new, simple and rapid reversed flow-injection (r-FI) method for the accurate and precise spectrophotometric determination of captopril (CPL) in pharmaceutical formulations. The method is based on the inhibitory effect of CPL on the complex formation of Co(II) with 2,2'-dipyridyl-2-pyridylhydrazone (DPPH). The chemical and FI variables were studied and optimized. The calibration graph was linear in the range 0-250 mg l(-1) CPL, at a sampling rate of 60 injections per hour. The method was found to be very precise [s(r)=0.8% at 100.0 mg l(-1) CPL (n=12)] and the 3sigma detection limit (c(L)=2.5 mg l(-1)) was quite satisfactory. Its application to commercially available pharmaceuticals produced excellent results, with a mean relative error of e(r)<1.0%.  相似文献

An ITP method for the simultaneous determination of Fe(II) and Fe(III) in waters, based on separation of their EDTA and fluoride complexes, respectively, was developed. The leading electrolyte used consists of chlorides, La(III) as co-counter ion and is buffered with beta-alanine to pH = 3.5. The terminating electrolyte contains caproic acid and L-histidine (pH = 4.5). The method was validated and tested with samples of artificial, ground and treated water with good results, comparable to those obtained by other analytical techniques. Fe(II) and Fe(III) up to 20 mg/L were measured with an RSD = 1.4-1.5% and detection and determination limits of 0.8-0.9 and 3.0-3.5 mg/L, respectively. The ITP method can be recommended for routine utilization in hydroanalytical laboratories.  相似文献

An asynchronous merging zones was proposed with simultaneous introduction of the sample and of the modifier reagent, ascorbic acid in the studied case, for sequential determination of Fe(II) and Fe(III) in pharmaceutical products. The sample and reagent attained a merging point at different times owing to the use of a delay reactor in the reagent channel. By inserting a large sample and controlling the dispersion in the flow system, Fe(II) and Fe(III) were sequentially measured in the front and in the rear of the sample zone, respectively. The results obtained for Fe redox speciation in pharmaceutical products are in agreement at a 95% confidence level with those obtained with a manual spectrophotometric procedure. The analytical frequency with the proposed flow analysis system was 54 samples h(-1), i.e. 108 determinations h(-1).  相似文献

A spectrophotometric method for simultaneous determination of Fe(III), Al(III) and Cu(II) using Alizarin Red S as a chelating agent was developed. The parameters controlling behavior of the system were investigated and optimum conditions were selected. A partial least-squares multivariate calibration method was used for the analysis of ternary mixtures of Fe(III), Al(III) and Cu(II) over the range of 450-6000, 140-4000 and 450-15000 ng ml(-1), respectively. Absorbance data were taken between 400 and 800 nm. Applying this method to simultaneous determination of these metal ions in several synthetic alloy solutions with total relative standard error of less than 5% validated the proposed method.  相似文献

H-point standard addition method, HPSAM, with simultaneous addition of three analytes is proposed for the resolution of ternary mixtures. It is a modification of the previously described H-point standard addition method that permits the resolution of three species from a unique calibration set by making the simultaneous addition of the three analytes. The method calculates the analyte concentration from spectral data at two wavelengths where the two species selected as interferents present the same absorbance relationship. These wavelength pairs are easily found, and can be selected to give the most precise results. Diethyldithiocarbomate (DDC) in a cationic micellar solution of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) was used for determination of Fe(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) at pH 5.50. The results showed that simultaneous determination of Fe(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) could be preformed in the range of 0.0–6.0, 0.0–8.0 and 0.0–12.0 μg ml−1, respectively. The proposed method was successfully applied to the simultaneous determination of Fe(II), Co(II) and Cu(II) in several synthetic mixtures containing different concentration of Fe(II), Co(II) and Cu(II).  相似文献

A method has been developed for the simultaneous determination of traces of Fe(III) and Fe(II) in water by on-line coupling of spectrophotometry with flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). The method involves cloud-point extraction (CPE) of both species with ammonium pyrrolidinecarbodithioate (APDC) under standard conditions, which facilitates the in situ complexation and extraction of both species. Differentiation of the oxidation states of iron is achieved by using mathematical equations to overcome the interference of Fe(III) in the spectrophotometric determination of Fe(II) when they are both present in the same solution. In this manner the time-consuming and labor-intensive steps of preoxidation of Fe(II) or reduction of Fe(III) are eliminated. By preconcentrating a 10-mL sample solution detection limits as low as 7 microg L(-1), were obtained after a single-step extraction procedure. The relative standard deviation (n=4, 30 microg L(-1)) was 2.6 % and 1.8 % for spectrophotometry and FAAS, respectively. Recoveries in the range of 96-105 % were obtained by analysis of spiked real samples. The method was further verified by analyzing a certified reference material (IMEP-9); for this the recovery was 98.5 %.  相似文献

The method is based on spectrophotometric determination of Fe(II) and Fe(III) at a single wavelength (530 nm) with the use of a dedicated reversed-flow injection system. In the system, EDTA solution is injected into a carrier stream (HNO3) and then merged with a sample stream containing a mixture of sulfosalicylic acid and 1,10-phenanthroline as indicators. In an acid environment (pH ≅ 3) the indicators form complexes with both Fe(III) and Fe(II), but EDTA replaces sulfosalicylic acid, forming a more stable colourless complex with Fe(III), whereas Fe(II) remains in a complex with 1,10-phenenthroline. As a result, the area and minimum of the characteristic peak can be exploited as measures corresponding to the Fe(III) and Fe(II) concentrations, respectively. The analytes were not found to affect each other's signals, hence two analytical curves were constructed with the use of a set of standard solutions, each containing Fe(II) and Fe(III). Both analytes were determined in synthetic samples within the concentration ranges of 0.05–4.0 and 0.09–6.0 mg L−1, respectively, with precision less than 1.5 and 2.6% (RSD) and with accuracy less than 4.3 and 5.6% (RE). The method was applied to determination of the analytes in water samples collected from artesian wells and the results of the determination were consistent with those obtained using the ICP-OES technique.  相似文献

A method has been developed for the speciation of trace dissolved Fe(II) and Fe(III) in water by coupling gallic acid (GA) modified nanometer-sized alumina micro-column separation with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The separation of Fe(II) and Fe(III) was achieved based on the obvious difference in reaction kinetics between Fe(II) and Fe(III) with GA. Fe(III) was selectively retained on the micro-column at pH 5.5-6.5, while Fe(II) could not be retained by the micro-column at the whole tested pH range of 1.0-6.5, and passed through the micro-column. The Fe(II) can be determined by ICP-MS directly without preconcentration/separation procedure, while Fe(III) retained on the micro-column was then eluted with 1.0 mL of 1 mol L(-1) HCl and determined by ICP-MS. The parameters affecting the separation of Fe(II) and Fe(III) were investigated systematically and the optimum separation conditions were established. Under the optimized conditions, the detection limits of 0.48 microg L(-1) and 0.24 microg L(-1) with relative standard deviation of 5.6% and 4.3%(C= 5 microg L(-1), n= 7) for Fe(II) and Fe(III) were found, respectively. No obvious effect on the speciation of Fe(II) and Fe(III) was found with the change of the ratio of Fe(II) and Fe(III) from 0 ratio 10 to 10 ratio 0. The proposed method was applied for the determination of trace Fe(II) and Fe(III) in environmental water and the recoveries for spiked samples were found to be in the range of 97-105%.  相似文献

The H-point standard addition method was applied to kinetic data for simultaneous determination of Fe(II) and Fe(III) or selective determination of Fe(II) in the presence of Fe(III). The method is based on the difference in the rate of complex formation between iron in two different oxidation states and methylthymol blue (MTB) at pH 3.5 in mixed cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and Triton X-100 micellar medium. Fe(II) can be determined in the range 0.25-2.5 microg ml(-1) with satisfactory accuracy and precision in the presence of excess Fe(III) and other metal ions that rapidly form complexes with MTB under working condition. The proposed method was successfully applied to the simultaneous determination of Fe(II) and Fe(III) or selective determination of Fe(II) in the presence of Fe(III) in spiked real environmental and synthetic samples with complex composition.  相似文献

The H-point standard addition method (HPSAM) for simultaneous determination of Fe(II) and Fe(III) is described. The method is based on the difference in the rate of complex formation of iron in two different oxidation states with Gallic acid (GA) at pH 5. Fe(II) and Fe(III) can be determined in the range of 0.02–4.50 μg ml−1 and 0.05–5.00 μg ml−1, respectively, with satisfactory accuracy and precision in the presence of other metal ions, which rapidly form complexes with GA under working conditions. The proposed method was successfully applied for simultaneous determination of Fe(II) and Fe(III) in several environmental and synthetic samples with different concentration ratios of Fe(II) and Fe(III).  相似文献

Summary The two-component complexometric potentiometric titration has been applied to the simultaneous determination of Fe(III) and Fe(II), and of Fe(III) and Ni(II) in solution. In each case the two analytes were determined by reading the end-points directly from the titration curve. The end-points are determined in a sense arbitrarily, but they are repeatable and easy to be detected precisely. However, the apparent (found) analytical results are biased. They are effectively corrected with the use of a set of two calibration equations (uncomplete second degree polynomials), which approximate the relationship between found endpoints and true concentrations of analytes in solution. The regression coefficients in the equations are determined on the basis of titration data obtained for standard solutions whose compositions correspond to a 22 factorial. Simultaneous determination of Fe(II) and Fe(III) was studied using partial least squares regression (PLS) and principal component regression (PCR) methods. The models were based on the difference observed in the rates of the complex formation of iron in its two oxidation states with 1,2-naphthaquinone-2-thiosemicarbazone-4-sulphonic acid (NQT4S) at pH 4.0 in cetyltrimethylammoniumbromide (CTAB) as micellar media. The results showed that simultaneous determination of Fe(II) and Fe(III) could be performed in their concentration ranges of 0.10-2.10 and 0.25-2.25 μg/ml, respectively. The models used can proceed the data with low percent relative error of prediction (i.e. <5.5%). The procedure was successfully applied for the simultaneous determination of Fe(II) and Fe(III) in some environmental samples. The method would allow the transformation of the two oxidation states of iron to be monitored overtime in a water sample.  相似文献

The method exploits the possibilities of flow injection gradient titration in a system of reversed flow with spectrophotometric detection. In the developed approach a small amount of titrant (EDTA) is injected into a stream of sample containing a mixture of indicators (sulfosalicylic acid and 1,10-phenanthroline). In acid environment sulfosalicylic acid forms a complex with Fe(III), whereas 1,10-phenanthroline forms a complex with Fe(II). Measurements are performed at wavelength λ = 530 nm when radiation is absorbed by both complexes. After injection EDTA replaces sulfosalicylic acid and forms with Fe(III) more stable colourless complex. As a result, a characteristic “cut off” peak is registered with a width corresponding to the Fe(III) concentration and with a height corresponding to the Fe(II) concentration. Calibration was performed by titration of four two-component standard solutions of the Fe(II)/Fe(III) concentrations established in accordance with 22 factorial plan. The method was tested with the use of synthetic samples and then it was applied to the analysis of water samples taken from artesian wells. Under optimized experimental conditions Fe(II) and Fe(III) were determined with precision less than 0.8 and 2.5% (RSD) and accuracy less than 3.2 and 5.1% (relative error) within the concentration ranges of 0.1-3.0 and 0.9-3.5 mg L−1 of both analytes, respectively.

A mixed-valence complex, [Fe(III)Fe(II)L1(μ-OAc)(2)]BF(4)·H(2)O, where the ligand H(2)L1 = 2-{[[3-[((bis(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)amino)methyl)-2-hydroxy-5-methylbenzyl](pyridin-2-ylmethyl)amino]methyl]phenol}, has been studied with a range of techniques, and, where possible, its properties have been compared to those of the corresponding enzyme system purple acid phosphatase. The Fe(III)Fe(II) and Fe(III)(2) oxidized species were studied spectroelectrochemically. The temperature-dependent population of the S = 3/2 spin states of the heterovalent system, observed using magnetic circular dichroism, confirmed that the dinuclear center is weakly antiferromagnetically coupled (H = -2JS(1)·S(2), where J = -5.6 cm(-1)) in a frozen solution. The ligand-to-metal charge-transfer transitions are correlated with density functional theory calculations. The Fe(III)Fe(II) complex is electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR)-silent, except at very low temperatures (<2 K), because of the broadening caused by the exchange coupling and zero-field-splitting parameters being of comparable magnitude and rapid spin-lattice relaxation. However, a phosphate-bound Fe(III)(2) complex showed an EPR spectrum due to population of the S(tot) = 3 state (J= -3.5 cm(-1)). The phosphatase activity of the Fe(III)Fe(II) complex in hydrolysis of bis(2,4-dinitrophenyl)phosphate (k(cat.) = 1.88 × 10(-3) s(-1); K(m) = 4.63 × 10(-3) mol L(-1)) is similar to that of other bimetallic heterovalent complexes with the same ligand. Analysis of the kinetic data supports a mechanism where the initiating nucleophile in the phosphatase reaction is a hydroxide, terminally bound to Fe(III). It is interesting to note that aqueous solutions of [Fe(III)Fe(II)L1(μ-OAc)(2)](+) are also capable of protein cleavage, at mild temperature and pH conditions, thus further expanding the scope of this complex's catalytic promiscuity.  相似文献

The ion-pair extraction equilibria of the iron(II) and iron(III) chelates of 4-(2-pyridylazo)resorcinol (PAR, H(2)L) are described. The anionic chelates were extracted into chloroform with benzyldimethyltetradecylammonium chloride (QC1) as counter-ion. The extraction constants were estimated to be K(ex1)(Fe(II)) = [Q{Fe(II)(HL)L}](0)/[Q(+)][{Fe(II)(HL)L}(-)] = 10(8.59 +/- 0.11), K(ex2)(Fe(II)) = [Q(2){Fe(II)L(2)}](o)/ [Q(+)](2)[{Fe(II)L(2)}(2-)] = 10(12.17 +/- 0.10) and K(ex1)(Fe(III)) = [Q{Fe((III))L(2)}](o)/(Q(+)][{Fe(III)L(2)}(-)] = 10(6.78 +/- 0.15) at I = 0.10 and 20 degrees , where [ ](o) is concentration in the chloroform phase. Aggregation of Q{Fe(III)L(2)} in chloroform was observed and the dimerization constant (K(d) = [Q(2){Fe(III)L(2)}(2)](o)/[Q{Fe(III)L(2)}](o)(2)) was evaluated as log K(d) = 4.3 +/- 0.3 at 20 degrees . The neutral chelates of {Fe(II)(HL)(2)} and {Fe(III)(HL)L}, and the ion-pair of the cationic chelate, {Fe(III)(HL)(2)}ClO(4), were also extracted into chloroform or nitrobenzene. The relationship between the forms and extraction properties of the iron(II) and iron(III) PAR chelates are discussed in connection with those of the nickel(II) and cobalt(III) complexes. Correlation between the extraction equilibrium data and the elution behaviour of some PAR chelates in ion-pair reversed-phase partition chromatography is also discussed.  相似文献

Novel Fe(III)Fe(III) and Fe(II)Fe(III) complexes [Fe(2)(BBPMP)(&mgr;-OAc)(&mgr;-X)](n)() (1, X = OAc(-), n = 1+; 2, X = OH(-), n = 1+; 3, X = OAc(-), n = 0; 4, X = OH(-), n = 0), where BBPMP(3)(-) is the anion of 2,6-bis[(2-hydroxybenzyl)(2-pyridylmethyl)aminomethyl]-4-methylphenol, and OAc(-) is acetate, were prepared in order to provide models for the active site of purple acid phosphatases (PAPs). Complex 1 was obtained by the reaction of H(3)BBPMP with Fe(ClO(4))(2).6H(2)O in methanol and sodium acetate trihydrate under ambient conditions, while complex 3 was synthesized as described for 1, under an argon atmosphere with low levels of dioxygen. 2 was isolated from 1in acetonitrile by a substitution of the bridging acetate group by hydroxide, while 4 was generated in solution during a spectropotentiostatic experiment on 2, under argon. Complex 1, [Fe(III)(2)(BBPMP)(&mgr;-OAc)(2)]ClO(4).H(2)O, has been characterized by X-ray crystallography. Crystal data: monoclinic, space group P2(1)/n, a = 14.863(5) ?, b = 12.315(3) ?, c = 20.872(8) ?, beta = 90.83(3) degrees, Z = 4. IR, M?ssbauer, magnetic, electronic absorption, and electrochemical properties of 1-3 have been investigated, and some of these properties represent a contribution to the understanding of the dinuclear iron center of PAPs. Complexes 2, [Fe(III)(2)(BBPMP)(&mgr;-OAc)(&mgr;-OH)]ClO(4) (lambda(max) = 568 nm/epsilon = 4760 M(-)(1) cm(-)(1)), and 4 [Fe(II)Fe(III)(BBPMP)(&mgr;-OAc)(&mgr;-OH)] (lambda(max) = 516 nm/epsilon = 4560 M(-)(1) cm(-)(1)), constitute good synthetic analogues for the chromophoric site for the oxidized and reduced forms, respectively, of the enzyme.  相似文献
