In this paper, we consider the general reaction–diffusion system proposed in Abdelmalek and Bendoukha (Nonlinear Anal., Real World Appl. 35:397–413, 2017) as a generalization of the original Lengyel–Epstein model developed for the revolutionary Turing-type CIMA reaction. We establish sufficient conditions for the global existence of solutions. We also follow the footsteps of Lisena (Appl. Math. Comput. 249:67–75, 2014) and other similar studies to extend previous results regarding the local and global asymptotic stability of the system. In the local PDE sense, more relaxed conditions are achieved compared to Abdelmalek and Bendoukha (Nonlinear Anal., Real World Appl. 35:397–413, 2017). Also, new extended results are achieved for the global existence, which when applied to the Lengyel–Epstein system, provide weaker conditions than those of Lisena (Appl. Math. Comput. 249:67–75, 2014). Numerical examples are used to affirm the findings and benchmark them against previous results.

Tensor truncation techniques are based on singular value decompositions. Therefore, the direct error control is restricted to $\ell ^{2}$ or $L^{2}$ norms. On the other hand, one wants to approximate multivariate (grid) functions in appropriate tensor formats in order to perform cheap pointwise evaluations, which require $\ell ^{\infty }$ or $L^{\infty }$ error estimates. Due to the huge dimensions of the tensor spaces, a direct estimate of $\left\| \cdot \right\| _{\infty }$ by $\left\| \cdot \right\| _{2}$ is hopeless. In the paper we prove that, nevertheless, in cases where the function to be approximated is smooth, reasonable error estimates with respect to $\left\| \cdot \right\| _{\infty }$ can be derived from the Gagliardo–Nirenberg inequality because of the special nature of the singular value decomposition truncation.  相似文献

On weighted spaces with strictly plurisubharmonic weightfunctions the canonical solution operator of and the ‐Neumann operator are bounded. In this paper we find a class of strictly plurisubharmonic weightfunctions with certain growth conditions, so that they are Hilbert‐Schmidt operators between weighted spaces with different weightfunctions, if they are restricted to forms with holomorphic coefficients. A second order accurate method in the infinity norm is proposed for general three dimensional anisotropic elliptic interface problems in which the solution and its derivatives, the coefficients, and source terms all can have finite jumps across one or several arbitrary smooth interfaces. The method is based on the 2D finite element-finite difference (FE-FD) method but with substantial differences in method derivation, implementation, and convergence analysis. One of challenges is to derive 3D interface relations since there is no invariance anymore under coordinate system transforms for the partial differential equations and the jump conditions. A finite element discretization whose coefficient matrix is a symmetric semi-positive definite is used away from the interface; and the maximum preserving finite difference discretization whose coefficient matrix part is an M-matrix is constructed at irregular elements where the interface cuts through. We aim to get a sharp interface method that can have second order accuracy in the point-wise norm. We show the convergence analysis by splitting errors into several parts. Nontrivial numerical examples are presented to confirm the convergence analysis.  相似文献

Let F:M ×\mathbbR ? M {\mathbf{F}}:M \times \mathbb{R} \to M be a continuous flow on a manifold M, let VM be an open subset, and let x:V ? \mathbbR \xi :V \to \mathbb{R} be a continuous function. We say that ξ is a period function if F(x, ξ(x)) = x for all xV. Recently, for any open connected subset VM; the author has described the structure of the set P(V) of all period functions on V. Assume that F is topologically conjugate to some C1 {\mathcal{C}^1} -flow. It is shown in this paper that, in this case, the period functions of F satisfy some additional conditions that, generally speaking, are not satisfied for general continuous flows.  相似文献

Given a finite subset of an additive group such as or , we are interested in efficient covering of by translates of , and efficient packing of translates of in . A set provides a covering if the translates with cover (i.e., their union is ), and the covering will be efficient if has small density in . On the other hand, a set will provide a packing if the translated sets with are mutually disjoint, and the packing is efficient if has large density. In the present part (I) we will derive some facts on these concepts when , and give estimates for the minimal covering densities and maximal packing densities of finite sets . In this paper we discuss D’Angelo finite type pseudoconvex domains Ω in ${\mathbb C^3}$ . We are interested in complex curves tangent to higher order. Our main result is that there are only finitely many curves of maximal type. Maximal type has to be taken in a micro-local sense since the maximal type can be different in different directions. And of course to get finiteness we have to ignore higher order irrelevant terms which can be added without restriction. In the process of describing such a curve we find a singular change of coordinates which reduces the curve to a complex line.  相似文献
