The quadridentate N-heterocyclic ligand 6-(5,5,8,8-tetramethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-1,2,4-benzotriazin-3-yl)-2,2'?:?6',2'-terpyridine (CyMe(4)-hemi-BTBP) has been synthesized and its interactions with Am(III), U(VI), Ln(III) and some transition metal cations have been evaluated by X-ray crystallographic analysis, Am(III)/Eu(III) solvent extraction experiments, UV absorption spectrophotometry, NMR studies and ESI-MS. Structures of 1:1 complexes with Eu(III), Ce(III) and the linear uranyl (UO(2)(2+)) ion were obtained by X-ray crystallographic analysis, and they showed similar coordination behavior to related BTBP complexes. In methanol, the stability constants of the Ln(III) complexes are slightly lower than those of the analogous quadridentate bis-triazine BTBP ligands, while the stability constant for the Yb(III) complex is higher. (1)H NMR titrations and ESI-MS with lanthanide nitrates showed that the ligand forms only 1:1 complexes with Eu(III), Ce(III) and Yb(III), while both 1:1 and 1:2 complexes were formed with La(III) and Y(III) in acetonitrile. A mixture of isomeric chiral 2:2 helical complexes was formed with Cu(I), with a slight preference (1.4:1) for a single directional isomer. In contrast, a 1:1 complex was observed with the larger Ag(I) ion. The ligand was unable to extract Am(III) or Eu(III) from nitric acid solutions into 1-octanol, except in the presence of a synergist at low acidity. The results show that the presence of two outer 1,2,4-triazine rings is required for the efficient extraction and separation of An(III) from Ln(III) by quadridentate N-donor ligands.  相似文献

Photophysical properties have been recorded for a ruthenium(II) bis(2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine) complex bearing a single ethynylene substituent. The target compound is weakly emissive in fluid solution at room temperature, but both the emission yield and lifetime increase dramatically as the temperature is lowered. As found for the unsubstituted parent complex, the full temperature dependence indicates that the lowest-energy triplet state couples to two higher-energy triplets and to the ground state. Luminescence occurs only from the lowest-energy triplet state, but the radiative and nonradiative decay rates indicate that electron delocalization occurs at the triplet level. Comparison of the target compound with the parent complex indicates that the ethynylene group reduces the size of the electron-vibrational coupling element for nonradiative decay of the lowest-energy triplet state. Although other factors are affected by substitution, this is by far the most important feature with regard to stabilization of the triplet state.  相似文献

The interactions of polymethacrylopiperidide with Cu2+, Ni2+, Co2+ and Fe3+ ions have been investigated by potentiometric and conductometric titration, ESR and u.v. spectroscopy, viscometry and sedimentation. The average number of ligands coordinating with the central metal ions and the stability constants of polymeric metal complexes were determined. It is assumed that the polymethacrylopiperidide interacts with transition metal ions through the nitrogen atoms. The influence of spatial arrangement of donor atoms on the coordination ability of polyligand is discussed.  相似文献

The interaction of La(III), Gd(III), and Yb(III) with Tris((2,3-dihydroxybenzylamino)ethyl)amine) (TRENCAT) was investigated by means of potentiometric measurements in 0.1 mol dm−3 aqueous solution of sodium perchlorate at 25 °C. The binding of lanthanide cations by 2-pyridylmethoxy derivatives of p-tert-butyldihomooxacalix[4]arene (1b), in the cone conformation, and p-tert-butylhexahomotrioxacalix[3]arene (2b), in both cone and partial cone conformations, was studied. These properties were assessed by extraction studies of the metal picrates from water into dichloromethane and stability constant measurements in methanol and acetonitrile, using spectrophotometric and microcalorimetric techniques. Proton NMR titrations with La3+ and Yb3+ cations were done in order to get information on the binding sites. Computational methods (density functional theory (DFT) calculations) were also used to complement the NMR data. The p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene analogue (3b) was also studied, and the results of the four ligands were compared. Partial cone-2b is the best extractant for lanthanide ions, showing some preference for the heavy lanthanides. In complexation, all four ligands show the same trend and a high selectivity for Yb3+ (ML, log β ≥ 7). Besides the formation of ML complexes, ML2 species were also obtained. In most cases, these species were corroborated by the proton NMR studies. For partial cone-2b with Pr3+ the complexation process is enthalpically driven, whereas for 3b the formation of the ML2 species with this cation is due to a favourable entropy term. DFT studies indicate that ligand 3b forms the most stable complex with La3+, followed by partial cone-2b.  相似文献

The evidences of spontaneous oxidation of Mn(II) by the dissolved oxygen in azide buffer medium, which is dependent on the N (-)(3)HN (3) concentration, suggested a formation of stable Mn(III) complexes due to marked colour changes. Spectrophotometric studies combined with coulometric generation of Mn(III), in presence of large excess of Mn(II), showed a maximum absorbance peak at 432 nm. The molar absorptivity increases with azide concentration (0.44-3.9 mol 1(-1)) from 3100 to 6300 mol(-1) 1 cm(-1), showing a stepwise complex formation. Potential measurements of the Mn(III) Mn(II) system in several azide aqueous buffers solutions: 1.0 x 10(-2) mol 1(-1) HN(3), (0.50-2.0 mol 1(-1)) N(-)(3) and 5.0 x 10(-2) mol 1(-1) Mn(II) and constant ionic strength 2.0 mol 1(-1), kept with sodium perchlorate, leads to the conditional potential, E(0')x, in several azide concentrations at 25.0 +/- 0.1 degrees C. Considering the overall formation constants of Mn(II) N (-)(3), from former studies, and the potential, E(0')s = 1.063 V versus SCE, for Mn(III) Mn(II) system in non-complexing media, it was possible to calculate the Fronaeus function, F(0)(L), and the following overall formation constants: beta(1) = 1.2 x 10(5) M(-1), beta(2) = 6.0 x 10(8) M(-2), beta(3) = (2.4 +/- 0.7) x 10(11) M(-3), beta(4) = (1.5 +/- 0.5) x 10(11) M(-4) and beta(5) = (9.6 +/- 0.8) x 10(11) M(-5) for the Mn(III) N (-)(3) complexes. These data give important support to understand the importance of Mn(II) and Mn(III) synergistic effect on the analytical method of S(IV) determination based on the Co(II) autoxidation.  相似文献

The interaction between sodium octanoate, decanoate, and dodecanoate and aluminum(III) and chromium(III) has been studied in water at natural pH values, starting well below the surfactant critical micelle concentration, using electrical conductivity, turbidity, and potentiometric measurements. With decanoate or dodecanoate, maximum interaction occurs at 3:1 stoichiometry, corresponding to charge neutralization. Although the solutions become turbid with both metal ions, indicating phase separation, differences are observed and attributed to the fact that aluminum(III) is relatively labile to substitution and rapidly replaces its water ligands, whereas chromium(III) is substitution inert. This shows up in well-defined floc formation with Al(3+), whereas Cr(3+) suspensions do not precipitate, probably because that replacement of coordinated water by carboxylate ligands is impeded. This can be overcome by increasing temperature, and differences in the thermal behavior with Al(3+) and Cr(3+) are suggested to be due to increased involvement of substitution reactions in the latter case. The effect of octanoate on the trivalent metal ions is less clear, and with Cr(3+) interaction only occurs when the carboxylate is in excess. Hydrophobic interactions between alkyl chains play a major role in driving phase separation. At high surfactant concentrations, the solid phases do not dissolve, in contrast to what is observed with the corresponding alkylsulfates. This has implications for use of these systems in metal separation through froth flotation. The concentration of metal ions in supernatant solution has been determined for sodium dodecanoate and sodium dodecylsulfate with Al(3+) and Cr(3+) over the whole surfactant concentration range by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). From this, association constants have been determined and are found to be larger for the carboxylate than the alkylsulfate, in agreement with the greater Lewis basicity of the -CO(2)(-) group.  相似文献

The fluorescence of lanthanide ions and of their complexes withEDTA,NTA andAA in aqueous solutions was investigated. It has been shown that the fluorescence band intensities of Sm(III), Eu(III), Gd(III), Tb(III) and Dy(III) complexes depend on thepH and the complexing agent concentration. Fluorescence measurements were used to characterise the lanthanide complexes formed and an attempt was made to interpret the results theoretically.

Zusammenfassung Die Fluoreszenz von wäßrigen Lösungen der Ionen und Komplexe einiger Lanthaniden mit Ethylendiamintetraessigsäure, Nitrilotriessigsäure und Essigsäure wurde untersucht. Der Einfluß vonpH und Konzentration der Komplexbildner auf die Intensität der Fluoreszenzbanden von Sm(III), Eu(III), Gd(III), Tb(III) und Dy(III) wurde bewiesen. Die Fluoreszenzmessungen wurden für die Charakterisierung von Lösungen der Lanthanidenkomplexe genützt und ein Versuch der theoretischen Interpretation der beobachteten Änderungen im Spektrum wurde unternommen.

Reactions of perchlorates of iron(II), nickel(II), and zinc(II) with 2,2':6',2':6',2'"-quaterpyridine (qtpy) gave the first crystallographically established bis-qtpy metal complexes of formula [M(qtpy)(2)][ClO(4)](2) (M = Fe, Ni, Zn). Coordination of two terdentate quaterpyridines to the same center produces a distorted octahedron of six nitrogen atoms around the metal, leaving two pendant pyridyl groups, one for each quaterpyridine. For the diamagnetic zinc system, an NMR investigation has been carried out in order to establish the conditions to obtain the intermediate mono-qtpy complex, of formula [Zn(qtpy)(H(2)O)(2)][ClO(4)](2), which has also been crystallographically established. The corresponding hexafluorophosphate derivatives [M(qtpy)(2)][PF(6)](2) (M = Ni and Zn) were prepared in DMF at room temperature.  相似文献

A new electrochemical detection principle is described for the trace analysis of dissolved species which can be deposited at polycrystalline thin-film metal electrodes and which change the surface resistance of the electrode. Because the latter parameter is measured in dependence on the applied electrode potential this method is called voltohmmetry. The preparation of the required thin-film electrodes and the experimental set-up is introduced and discussed. Typical voltohmmetric experiments are illustrated by measurements of Tl+/Tl at polycrystalline gold electrodes with a thickness of 15 nm. The analytical capabilities of this new approach are discussed. It is already possible to determine heavy metals such as Tl+, Pb2+ or Cd2+ in the range of a few microgram/L by surface resistance-potential measurements at thin-film electrodes with a simple cyclic technique. Further developments of voltohmmetry are envisaged.  相似文献

A new set of ionic radii in aqueous solution has been derived for lanthanoid(III) cations starting from a very accurate experimental determination of the ion-water distances obtained from extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) data. At variance with previous results, a very regular trend has been obtained, as expected for this series of elements. A general procedure to compute ionic radii in solution by combining the EXAFS technique and molecular dynamics (MD) structural data has been developed. This method can be applied to other ions allowing one to determine ionic radii in solution with an accuracy comparable to that of the Shannon crystal ionic radii.  相似文献

A series of new square-planar 4'-(5'-R-pyrimidyl)-2,2':6',2'-terpyridyl platinum(II) phenylacetylide complexes ( 1a- 5a) bearing different substituents (R = H, OEt, Ph, Cl, CN) on the pyrimidyl ring have been synthesized and characterized. The electronic absorption, photoluminescence, and triplet transient difference absorption spectra were investigated. All of the complexes exhibit broad, moderately strong absorption between 400 and 500 nm that can be tentatively assigned to the metal-to-ligand charge transfer ( (1)MLCT) transition, possibly mixed with some ligand-to-ligand charge transfer ( (1)LLCT) character. Photoluminescence arising from the (3)MLCT state was observed both in fluid solutions at room temperature and in a rigid matrix at 77 K. The (1)MLCT/ (1)LLCT absorption bands and the (3)MLCT emission bands for 1a- 5a red-shift in comparison to those of the corresponding 4'-toly-2,2':6',2'-terpyridyl platinum(II) phenylacetylide complex. In addition, the energies of the (1)MLCT/ (1)LLCT absorption and the (3)MLCT emission bands exhibit a linear correlation with the Hammett constant (sigma p) of the 5'-substituent on the pyrimidyl ring. The lifetime of the (3)MLCT emission at room temperature is governed by the energy gap law. The triplet transient difference absorption spectra of 1a- 5a exhibit a broad absorption band from 500 to 800 nm, and a bleaching band between 420 and 500 nm. Complex 5a, which contains the -CN substituent, exhibits a lower-energy triplet absorption band at 785 nm and a shorter lifetime (130 ns) in CH 3CN than 2a, which has the -OEt substituent, does (lambda T1-Tn (max) = 720 nm, tau T = 660 ns). The triplet excited-state absorption coefficients at the band maxima for 1a- 5a vary from 36 600 L.mol (-1).cm (-1) to 115 090 L.mol (-1).cm (-1), and the quantum yields of the triplet excited-state formation range from 0.19 to 0.66. All complexes exhibit a moderate nonlinear transmission for nanosecond laser pulses at 532 nm. Moreover, these complexes can generate singlet oxygen efficiently in air-saturated CH 3CN solutions, with the singlet oxygen generation quantum yield (Phi Delta) varying from 0.24 to 0.46.  相似文献
