Dirichlet Problem for Degenerate Quasilinear Elliptic Equations Suggested by the Anisotropic Permeation

By Browder's pseudo-monotone operator theory and the techniques belonging to J. Leray and J. Lions, the existence theorem of the generalized solution of the Dirichlet problem for a strongly degenerate quasilincar elliptic equation has been proved in the anisotropic Sobolev space.     

Regularity of the Solution to Nonlinear Anisotropic Elliptic Equations with Variable Exponents and Irregular Data

In this paper, we prove the existence and regularity of weak solutions for a class of nonlinear anisotropic elliptic equations with \(p_i(x)\) growth conditions and \(L^m\) data, with m being small. The functional setting involves Lebesgue–Sobolev spaces with variable exponents. Our results are generalizations of the corresponding results in the constant exponent case and some results given in Bendahmane et al. (Commun Pure Appl Anal 12:1201–1220, 2013).     

Nonlinear Degenerate Anisotropic Elliptic Equations with Variable Exponents and L1 Data

This paper is devoted to the study of a nonlinear anisotropic elliptic equation with degenerate coercivity, lower order term and L¹ datum in appropriate anisotropic variable exponents Sobolev spaces. We obtain the existence of distributional solutions.     

A Problem with Nonlocal Conditions for Partial Differential Equations with Variable Coefficients

We establish conditions for the unique solvability of a problem for partial differential equations with coefficients dependent on variables t and x in a rectangular domain with nonlocal two-point conditions with respect to t and local boundary conditions with respect to x. We prove metric statements related to lower bounds of small denominators appearing in the course of solution of the problem.

Dirichlet Series for Quasilinear Partial Differential Equations

We consider the construction of Dirichlet series for quasilinear partial differential equations. We obtain a remarkable result that for the class of equations under study, the only equations that admit such a series solution are transformable back onto the only known integrable equation within the class.

Multigrid Waveform Relaxation for Anisotropic Partial Differential Equations

Multigrid waveform relaxation provides fast iterative methods for the solution of time-dependent partial differential equations. In this paper we consider anisotropic problems and extend multigrid methods developed for the stationary elliptic case to waveform relaxation methods for the time-dependent parabolic case. We study line-relaxation, semicoarsening and multiple semicoarsening multilevel methods. A two-grid Fourier–Laplace analysis is used to estimate the convergence of these methods for the rotated anisotropic diffusion equation. We treat both continuous time and discrete time algorithms. The results of the analysis are confirmed by numerical experiments.     

A Multiplicity Result for an Elliptic Anisotropic Differential Inclusion Involving Variable Exponents

In this paper we are concerned with the study of a class of quasilinear elliptic differential inclusions involving the anisotropic $\overrightarrow {p}(\cdot)$ -Laplace operator, on a bounded open subset of ${\mathbb R}^n$ which has a smooth boundary. The abstract framework required to study this kind of differential inclusions lies at the interface of three important branches in analysis: nonsmooth analysis, the variable exponent Lebesgue–Sobolev spaces theory and the anisotropic Sobolev spaces theory. Using the concept of nonsmooth critical point we are able to prove that our problem admits at least two non-trivial weak solutions.     

Operator Equations and Duality Mappings in Sobolev Spaces with Variable Exponents

After studying in a previous work the smoothness of the space UΓ0={u∈W1,p(·)(Ω);u=0 on Γ0 Γ=Ω},where dΓ-measΓ0>0,with p(·)∈C(Ω)and p(x)>1 for all x∈Ω,the authors study in this paper the strict and uniform convexity as well as some special properties of duality mappings defined on the same space.The results obtained in this direction are used for proving existence results for operator equations having the form Ju=Nfu,where J is a duality mapping on UΓ0 corresponding to the gauge function,and Nf is the Nemytskij operator generated by a Carath′eodory function f satisfying an appropriate growth condition ensuring that Nf may be viewed as acting from UΓ0 into its dual.

Dirichlet Problem for a Class of Quasilinear Elliptic Equations

In this paper, the Dirichlet problem for quasilinear elliptic equations is studied. New a priori estimates of the solution and its gradient are obtained. These estimates are derived without any assumptions on the smoothness of the coefficients and the right-hand side of the equation. Moreover, an arbitrary growth of the right-hand side with respect to the gradient of the solution is assumed. On the basis of the resulting estimates, existence theorems are proved.     

Multipoint Problem with Multiple Nodes for Partial Differential Equations

We establish conditions for the existence and uniqueness of a solution of a problem with multipoint conditions with respect to a selected variable t (in the case of multiple nodes) and periodic conditions with respect to x ₁,..., x _p for a nonisotropic partial differential equation with constant complex coefficients. We prove metric theorems on lower bounds for small denominators appearing in the course of the solution of this problem.
