We study Lp-viscosity solutions of fully nonlinear, second-order, uniformly elliptic partial differential equations (PDE) with measurable terms and quadratic nonlinearity. We present a sufficient condition under which the maximum principle holds for Lp-viscosity solution. We also prove stability and existence results for the equations under consideration.  相似文献

We consider semi-stable, radially symmetric, and decreasing solutions of  − Δ p u = g(u) in the unit ball of , where p > 1, Δ p is the p-Laplace operator, and g is a locally Lipschitz function. For this class of radial solutions, which includes local minimizers, we establish pointwise, L q , and W 1,q estimates which are optimal and do not depend on the specific nonlinearity g. Among other results, we prove that every radially decreasing and semi-stable solution u belonging to W 1,p (B 1) is bounded whenever n < p + 4p/(p − 1). Under standard assumptions on the nonlinearity g(u) = λf (u), where λ > 0 is a parameter, it is proved that the corresponding extremal solution u * is semi-stable, and hence, it enjoys the regularity stated in our main result.  相似文献

We introduce the concept of Lp-maximal regularity for second order Cauchy problems. We prove Lp-maximal regularity for an abstract model problem and we apply the abstract results to prove existence, uniqueness and regularity of solutions for nonlinear wave equations. We study the so-called two-phase obstacle-type problem for the p-Laplacian when p is close to 2. We introduce a new method to obtain the optimal growth of the function from branch points, i.e. two-phase points in the free boundary where the gradient vanishes. As a by-product we can locally estimate the (n − 1)-Hausdorff-measure of the free boundary for the special case when p > 2. This research project is a part of the ESF program Global. E. Let p be a prime, a finite p-group, any finite group with order divisible by p, and any action of on . We show that the cardinality of the set of all derivations with respect to this action is a multiple of p. This generalises theorems of Frobenius and Hall. Received: 16 June 2003  相似文献

We prove that the maximal dimension of a p-central subspace of the generic symbol p-algebra of prime degree p is \({p+1}\). We do it by proving the following number theoretic fact: let \({\{s_1,\dots,s_{p+1}\}}\) be \({p+1}\) distinct nonzero elements in the additive group \({G=(\mathbb{Z}/p \mathbb{Z}) \times (\mathbb{Z}/p \mathbb{Z})}\), then every nonzero element \({g \in G}\) can be expressed as \({d_1 s_1+\dots+d_{p+1} s_{p+1}}\) for some non-negative integers \({d_1,\dots,d_{p+1}}\) with \({d_1+\dots+d_{p+1}\leq p-1}\).  相似文献

We investigate R-bounded representations , where X is a Banach space and G is a lca group. Observing that Ψ induces a (strongly continuous) group homomorphism , we are then able to analyze certain classical homomorphisms U (e.g. translations in Lp (G)) from the viewpoint of R-boundedness and the theory of scalar-type spectral operators. Given , a compact abelian group G and a function , we identify the maximal (i.e. optimal) domain of the convolution operator (as an operator from Lp(G) to itself). This is the largest Banach function space (with order continuous norm) into which Lp(G) is embedded and to which has a continuous extension, still with values in Lp(G). Of course, the optimal domain depends on p and g. Whereas is compact, this is not always so for the extension of to its optimal domain. Several characterizations of precisely when this is the case are presented.  相似文献

We prove two results on mod p properties of Siegel modular forms. First, we use theta series in order to construct of a Siegel modular form of weight p−1 which is congruent to 1 mod p. Second, we define a theta operator on q-expansions and show that the algebra of Siegel modular forms mod p is stable under , by exploiting the relation between and generalized Rankin-Cohen brackets.  相似文献

In this paper we construct certain moduli spaces, which we call moduli spaces of (principal) F-bundles, and study their basic properties. These spaces are associated to triples consisting of a smooth projective geometrically connected curve over a finite field, a split reductive group G, and an irreducible algebraic representation .of of Our spaces generalize moduli spaces of F-sheaves, studied by Drinfeld and Lafforgue, which correspond to the case G = GLr and is the tensor product of the standard representation and its dual. The importance of the moduli spaces of F-bundles is due to the belief that Langlands correspondence is realized in their cohomology.  相似文献

Let p be an odd prime number and let n be an arbitrary positive integer. We prove that there exists a p-group whose mod-p cohomology ring has a nilpotent element H2() satisfying n0,n+p–1=0. As a corollary, we exhibit a p-group whose mod-p cohomology ring contains an element of nilpotency degree n+1.Mathematical Subject Classification (2000): 20J06, 20D15, 55R40To Phuong and Nin  相似文献

In this note, we find a monomial basis of the cyclotomic Hecke algebra \({\mathcal{H}_{r,p,n}}\) of G(r,p,n) and show that the Ariki-Koike algebra \({\mathcal{H}_{r,n}}\) is a free module over \({\mathcal{H}_{r,p,n}}\), using the Gröbner-Shirshov basis theory. For each irreducible representation of \({\mathcal{H}_{r,p,n}}\), we give a polynomial basis consisting of linear combinations of the monomials corresponding to cozy tableaux of a given shape.  相似文献

We study sets of range uniqueness (SRU’s) in a complete, ultrametric, algebraically closed fieldK for analytic elements. We find monotonic distances sequences which appear to be SRU’s completely different from those known in ©. On the other hand, most of open closed sets cannot be SRU’s.  相似文献

Starting from the question when all irreducible p-Brauer characters for a symmetric or an alternating group are of p-power degree, we classify the p-modular irreducible representations of p-power dimension in some families of representations for these groups. In particular, this then allows to confirm a conjecture by W. Willems for the alternating groups. Received: 14 June 2006  相似文献

A subgroup H of a finite group G is called c-normal in G if there exists a normal subgroup N of G such that G = HN and $H \cap N \leq H_{G} = {\rm core}_{G}(H)$. In this paper, we investigate the class of groups of which every maximal subgroup of its Sylow p-subgroup is c-normal and the class of groups of which some minimal subgroups of its Sylow p-subgroup is c-normal for some prime number p. Some interesting results are obtained and consequently, many known results related to p-nilpotent groups and p-supersolvable groups are generalized.  相似文献

The rank of a q-ary code C is the dimension of the subspace spanned by C. The kernel of a q-ary code C of length n can be defined as the set of all translations leaving C invariant. Some relations between the rank and the dimension of the kernel of q-ary 1-perfect codes, over as well as over the prime field , are established. Q-ary 1-perfect codes of length n=(qm − 1)/(q − 1) with different kernel dimensions using switching constructions are constructed and some upper and lower bounds for the dimension of the kernel, once the rank is given, are established.Communicated by: I.F. Functions whose translates span L p (R) are called L p-cyclic functions. For a fixed p \memb [1, \infty], we construct Schwartz-class functions which are L r -cyclic for r > p and not L r - cyclic for r \le p. We then construct Schwartz-class functions which are L r -cyclic for r \ge p and not L r -cyclic for r < p. The constructions differ for p \memb (1, 2) and p > 2.  相似文献
