Two comments on the theory of Gamow states are presented. First, it is shown that Gamow states may be viewed as two resonating states which correspond to two different eigenproblems for the same real value of energy. Whereas in Dirac quantum mechanics and relativistic quantum field theory one uses Schwartz space distributions, the extensions of the Hilbert space that we propose uses Hardy spaces. The in- and out-Lippmann-Schwinger kets of scattering theory are functionals in two rigged Hilbert space extensions of the same Hilbert space. This hypothesis also allows to introduce generalized vectors corresponding to unstable states, the Gamow kets. Here the relativistic formulation of the theory of unstable states is presented. It is shown that the relativistic Gamow vectors of the unstable states, defined by a resonance pole of the S-matrix, are classified according to the irreducible representations of the semigroup of the Poincaré transformations (into the forward light cone). As an application the problem of the mass definition of the intermediate vector boson Z is discussed and it is argued that only one mass definition leads to the exponential decay law, and that is not the standard definition of the on-the-mass-shell renormalization scheme.  相似文献

This paper deals with the existence of proper conformal Killing vectors(CKVs) in Kantowski-Sachs metric.Subject to some integrability conditions, the general form of vector filed generating CKVs and the conformal factor is presented. The integrability conditions are solved generally as well as in some particular cases to show that the nonconformally flat Kantowski-Sachs metric admits two proper CKVs, while it admits a 15-dimensional Lie algebra of CKVs in the case when it becomes conformally flat. The inheriting conformal Killing vectors(ICKVs), which map fluid lines conformally, are also investigated.  相似文献

Gamow vectors are rigourously derived for a realistic case including an infinite number of resonant poles. This is the case of resonances produced by cut-off potentials. In this note, we investigate conformal Killing vectors (CKVs) of locally rotationally symmetric (LRS) Bianchi type V spacetimes. Subject to some integrability conditions, CKVs up to implicit functions of (t,x) are obtained. Solving these integrability conditions in some particular cases, the CKVs are completely determined, obtaining a classification of LRS Bianchi type V spacetimes. The inheriting conformal Killing vectors of LRS Bianchi type V spacetimes are also discussed.  相似文献

Results from the Lax-Phillips Scattering Theory are used to analyze quantum mechanical scattering systems, in particular to obtain spectral properties of their resonances which are defined to be the poles of the scattering matrix. For this approach the interplay between the positive energy projection and the Hardy-space projections is decisive. Among other things it turns out that the spectral properties of these poles can be described by the (discrete) eigenvalue spectrum of a so-called truncated evolution, whose eigenvectors can be considered as the Gamow vectors corresponding to these poles. Further an expansion theorem of the positive Hardy-space part of vectors Sg (S scattering operator) into a series of Gamow vectors is presented.  相似文献

In this paper, we have developed an algorithm based on singular value decomposition (SVD) for matrix. And the novel SVD algorithm with normalized period of cardiac cycles is presented. The results from real magnetocardiography (MCG) data processing show that the new algorithm is better than the standard one not only in suppressing noises, but also in providing high-fidelity MCG signals.  相似文献

Finding (conformal) Killing vectors of a given metric can be a difficult task. This paper presents an efficient technique for finding Killing, homothetic, or even proper conformal Killing vectors in the Newman-Penrose (NP) formalism. Leaning on, and extending, results previously derived in the GHP formalism we show that the (conformal) Killing equations can be replaced by a set of equations involving the commutators of the Lie derivative with the four NP differential operators, applied to the four coordinates.It is crucial that these operators refer to a preferred tetrad relative to the (conformal) Killing vectors, a notion to be defined. The equations can then be readily solved for the Lie derivative of the coordinates, i.e. for the components of the (conformal) Killing vectors. Some of these equations become trivial if some coordinates are chosen intrinsically (where possible), i.e. if they are somehow tied to the Riemann tensor and its covariant derivatives.If part of the tetrad, i.e. part of null directions and gauge, can be defined intrinsically then that part is generally preferred relative to any Killing vector. This is also true relative to a homothetic vector or a proper conformal Killing vector provided we make a further restriction on that intrinsic part of the tetrad. If because of null isotropy or gauge isotropy, where part of the tetrad cannot even in principle be defined intrinsically, the tetrad is defined only up to (usually) one null rotation parameter and/or a gauge factor, then the NP-Lie equations become slightly more involved and must be solved for the Lie derivative of the null rotation parameter and/or of the gauge factor as well. However, the general method remains the same and is still much more efficient than conventional methods.Several explicit examples are given to illustrate the method.  相似文献

We construct transformation operators for Sturm-Liouville operators with singular potentials from the space W −1 2(0,1) and show that these transformation operators naturally appear during factorisation of Fredholm operators of a special form. Some applications to the spectral analysis of Sturm-Liouville operators with singular potentials under consideration are also given. We completely describe presentations of Lie superalgebras with Cartan matrix if they are simple -graded of polynomial growth. Such matrices can be neither integer nor symmetrizable. There are non-Serre relations encountered. In certain cases there are infinitely many relations. For symmetrizable Cartan matrices similar (but not identical) presentations are obtained by Yamane who also considered q-quantized versions of these relations (q-alg 9603015). Yamane did not try to find out which of the relations he offers constitute a minimal set generating all other relations; contrariwise we give minimal sets of defining relations and in various cases our relations look much simpler than Yamane's (though still very complicated in some cases).  相似文献

The present work is much motivated by finding an explicit way in the construction of the Jack symmetric function, which is the spectrum generating function for the Calogero-Sutherland (CS) model. To accomplish this work, the hidden Virasoro structure in the CS model is much explored. In particular, we found that the Virasoro singular vectors form a skew hierarchy in the CS model. Literally, skew is analogous to coset, but here specifically refer to the operation on the Young tableaux. In fact, based on the construction of the Virasoro singular vectors, this hierarchical structure can be used to give a complete construction of the CS states, i.e. the Jack symmetric functions, recursively. The construction is given both in operator formalism as well as in integral representation. This new integral representation for the Jack symmetric functions may shed some insights on the spectrum constructions for the other integrable systems.  相似文献

Recently models of faceted crystal growth and of grain boundaries were proposed based on the gradient system with nondifferentiable energy. In this article, we study their most basic forms given by the equations u t=(u x/|u x|) x and u t=(1/a)(au x/|u x|) x , where both of the related energies include a |u x| term of power one which is nondifferentiable at u x=0. The first equation is spatially homogeneous, while the second one is spatially inhomogeneous when a depends on x. These equations naturally express nonlocal interactions through their singular diffusivities (infinitely large diffusion constant), which make the profiles of the solutions completely flat. The mathematical basis for justifying and analyzing these equations is explained, and theoretical and numerical approaches show how the solutions of the equations evolve.  相似文献
