Isolated calmness of solution mappings in convex semi-infinite optimization

This paper is concerned with isolated calmness of the solution mapping of a parameterized convex semi-infinite optimization problem subject to canonical perturbations. We provide a sufficient condition for isolated calmness of this mapping. This sufficient condition characterizes the strong uniqueness of minimizers, under the Slater constraint qualification. Moreover, on the assumption that the objective function and the constraints are linear, we show that this condition is also necessary for isolated calmness.

基于LMIs处理方法,研究了一类不确定线性切换系统在任意切换下的鲁棒控制问题.利用矩阵Schur补引理构造线性矩阵不等式,得到该系统的鲁棒稳定性的充要条件,同时也给出了在状态反馈下的鲁棒稳定性充要条件和在输出反馈下的充分条件.最后用数值例子对所得结果加以验证,说明了文中结果的正确性.     

On the Numerical Range of Operator Polynomials

An upper bound for the number of components of the numerical range of matrix polynomials is established. We also establish a necessary condition and a sufficient condition for the connectedness of the numerical range of a quadratic selfadjoint matrix polynomial. The boundary of the numerical range of linear matrix polynomials is also considered.

This paper obtains a necessary and sufficient condition for an irreducible complex matrix whose comparison matrix is a singular M-matrix to be singular. This is used to establish a necessary and sufficient condition for a boundary point of Brualdi‘s inclusion region of the eigenvalues of an irreducible complex matrix to be an eigenvalue.

Projection on Segre varieties and determination of holomorphic mappings between real submanifolds Dedicated to Professor Sheng GONG on the occasion of his 75th birthday

It is shown that a germ of a holomorphic mapping sending a real-analytic generic submanifold of finite type into another is determined by its projection on the Segre variety of the target manifold. A necessary and sufficient condition is given for a germ of a mapping into the Segre variety of the target manifold to be the projection of a holomorphic mapping sending the source manifold into the target. An application to the biholomorphic equivalence problem is also given.

Constrained open mapping theorem with applications

We prove a generalization of Graves? Open Mapping Theorem for a class of mappings which can be approximated at a reference point by a set-valued one having particular properties. The nonlinear mapping is restricted to a closed convex subset of a Banach space. We apply the results to derive necessary and sufficient conditions ensuring the existence of a differentiable selection for the inverse mapping. A slight generalization of a sufficient condition by J. Klamka on so-called constrained exact local controllability of nonlinear and semi-linear dynamic systems is also proved.

Characterizations of local upper Lipschitz property of perturbed solutions to nonlinear second-order cone programs

We characterize the local upper Lipschitz property of the stationary point mapping and the Karush–Kuhn–Tucker (KKT) mapping for a nonlinear second-order cone programming problem using the graphical derivative criterion. We demonstrate that the second-order sufficient condition and the strict constraint qualification are sufficient for the local upper Lipschitz property of the stationary point mapping and are both sufficient and necessary for the local upper Lipschitz property of the KKT mapping.

A characterization of nonnegative matrices which have a nonnegative Drazin inverse is given. A necessary and sufficient condition for a real matrix to have a nonnegative Drazin inverse is also presented.

A necessary and sufficient condition for the stabilisation of a matrix and its principal submatrices

We present a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a real diagonal matrix such that its product with a given real square matrix is Hurwitz together with all its principal submatrices. We also give an explicit formula for a matrix which, in particular, supplies all the involved matrices with negative distinct eigenvalues.     

On the conditions for a Hamiltonian matrix to have an eigen-value density with some prescribed characteristics

The following problem is considered: “Find the necessary and sufficient conditions to be fulfilled by the components of a hamiltonian operator to have an eigenvalue density with certain prescribed characteristics”. The solution when the hamiltonian operator is a Jacobi matrix and the prescribed characteristic is the unimodality, is shown. A sufficient condition for a real Jacobi matrix to have a prescribed density is also given.     

Extremal inverse eigenvalue problem for symmetric doubly arrow matrices

In this paper, we consider the following inverse eigenvalue problem: to construct a real symmetric doubly arrow matrix A from the minimal and maximal eigenvalues of all its leading principal submatrices. The necessary and sufficient condition for the solvability of the problem is derived. We also give a necessary and sufficient condition in order that the constructed matrices can be nonnegative. Our results are constructive and they generate algorithmic procedures to construct such matrices.
