We propose a scheme to prepare many two-mode cavities into one-dimensional cluster states in the context of cavity QED. The left-circularly polarized state and right-circularly polarized state of the cavity are encoded as the logic zero and one of the qubits. In the scheme, the atomic spontaneous emission is suppressed, and the fidelity is unaffected by the cavity decay on the assumption that the detection efficiencies of all the photondetectors are 1.  相似文献

We investigate a scheme of atomic quantum memory to store photonic qubits of polarization in cavity QED. It is observed that the quantum state swapping between a single-photon pulse and a Λ-type atom can be made via scattering in an optical cavity [T. W. Chen, C. K. Law, P. T. Leung, Phys. Rev. A 69 (2004) 063810]. This swapping operates limitedly in the strong coupling regime for Λ-type atoms with equal dipole couplings. We extend this scheme in cavity QED to present a more feasible and efficient method for quantum memory combined with projective measurement. This method works without requiring such a condition on the dipole couplings. The fidelity is significantly higher than that of the swapping, and even in the moderate coupling regime it reaches almost unity by narrowing sufficiently the photon-pulse spectrum. This high performance is rather unaffected by the atomic loss, cavity leakage or detunings, while a trade-off is paid in the success probability for projective measurement.  相似文献

Two schemes are proposed for generating atomic qubits cluster states in cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). In the first scheme, only two-atom-cavity interactions are involved, and cluster states can be directly generated by using constructed two-qubit controlled phase gates. The second scheme needs the assistance of additional single-qubit rotations, but takes less time than the first one for two-atom operations in the cavity. In this scheme, two projective operators are constructed to prepare two-dimension or more complicated configurations of cluster states. Both schemes are insensitive to the cavity decay due to the fact that the cavity is only virtually excited during the interaction between atoms and the cavity. The idea can also be applied to the ion trap system.  相似文献

We present the cluster-type entangled coherent states (CTECS) and discuss their properties. A cavity QED generation scheme using suitable choices of atom-cavity interactions, obtained via detunings adjustments and the application of classical external fields, is also presented. After the realization of simple atomic measurements, CTECS representing nonlocal electromagnetic fields in separate cavities can be generated.  相似文献

A scheme is discussed for probabilistic teleportation of a special type of two-atom pure state - an arbitrary superposition of symmetric two-atom Dicke states. The scheme follows the previous idea [S.B. Zheng, Phys. Rev. A 69 (2004) 064302], which is proposed for approximate and probabilistic teleportation of an atomic state through only a detection on the sender atom. In principle, the present scheme can achieve faithful teleportation by resorting to a very different model, which depicts the resonant interaction of a Λ-type three-level atom with a two-mode cavity field. The scheme can also be used for teleportation of an arbitrary superposition of symmetric multi-atom Dicke states.  相似文献

We investigate effects of a collective disentanglement eraser performed over states of two pairs of pre-entangled cavities tagged independently with two identical three-level atoms. It is shown that the collective disentanglement operation ensures not only the recovery of initial coherence but also its extension from the initial two to four qubits, generating four-qubit field cluster states. We also propose a cavity QED scheme to generate an arbitrary field graph state by means of a collective operation of disentanglement erasers.  相似文献

We propose a method of generating a four-atom entangled cluster state by considering two kinds of the atoms–cavity field interaction in cavity QED. During the preparation the cavity is only virtually excited no quantum information will be transferred from the atoms to the cavity and thus the scheme is insensitive to the cavity field states and cavity decay. The scheme can also be used to generate the cluster state for the trapped ions.  相似文献

We propose a scheme for controllably entangling the ground states of five-state W-type atoms confined in a cavity and realizing swap gate and phase gate operations. In this scheme the cavity is only virtually excited and the atomic excited states are almost not occupied, so the produced entangled states and quantum logic operations are very robust against the cavity decay and atomic spontaneous emission.  相似文献

We implement a two-atom √swap Bate via cavity QED. During the preparation, a cavity-assisted collision betweenatoms is required, and this does not need any auxiliary atom. The cavity is only virtually excited, thus our scheme is insensitive to the cavity field states and to the cavity decay. The scheme can be implemented by the present cavity QED techniques.  相似文献

We propose a cavity-QED scheme to effectively generate Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen polarization-entangled photon pairs. Assisted by a classical π-polarized pump field, a tripod four-level atom successively couples to two high-Q optical cavities possessing polarization degeneracy. Through stimulated Raman adiabatic passage process the polarization-entangled photon pairs can be produced.  相似文献

With the ancillary one-sided cavities each trapping an alkali atom, the schemes for the analyzers of two-photon Bell states and three-photon Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states are proposed, respectively. Moreover, all of two-photon Bell states and three-photon GHZ states can be nondestructively distinguished. The influence of atomic spontaneous emission and output coupling inefficiency are discussed.  相似文献

We report a practical non-postselection entanglement concentration scheme in which a maximally entangled Bell-state photon pair is produced from two pairs of partially (or non-maximally) entangled photons. Since this scheme is built only upon linear optical elements and does not require photon-number resolving detectors, it has immediate applications in experimental implementations of various quantum information protocols which require two-photon Bell-states.  相似文献

We propose a scheme for implementing a measurement of GHZ entanglement for a multipartite system via cavity QED. In the scheme the atoms interact simultaneously with a highly detuned cavity mode with the assistant of a classical field. The scheme is insensitive to the cavity decay and the thermal field. A set of GHZ states can be exactly distinguished via detecting atomic state in a simple way.  相似文献

We present a new scheme for realizing a n-qubit controlled-phase gate with atoms in cavity QED. The present scheme operates essentially by exchanging a single photon between the control atoms and the cavity mode before and after a phase shift performed on the target atom. It is interesting to note that the gate can be implemented in a very simple way and by employing resonant interaction with one cavity only.  相似文献

A solid state quantum circuit where an ensemble of self-assembled quantum dots in a microdisk cavity served as long-lived quantum light memory, is investigated. It is shown that via laser coupling Raman process, the coherent transfer between the light field (qubits) and the ensemble spin states of the quantum dots can be efficient and fast. The coherence properties of the system are analyzed, which enables us to obtain a long coherence time.  相似文献

We investigate the entanglement of an open tripartite system where a cavity field mode in thermal equilibrium is off-resonantly coupled with two atoms that are simultaneously driven by a resonant coherent field. For moderately detuned atom-field coupling and strong atomic driving we show the generation, at given interaction times and for low enough cavity decay rates, of atomic Bell states and of Bell state superpositions relevant for quantum gates implementation. The system can oscillate between bi-separable and fully separable states. Also we describe the distribution of quantum correlations between the atom-atom and the two atom-field subsystems. In the dispersive coupling regime with strongly driven atoms we show the generation of nearly stationary Bell states which remain protected from cavity dissipation.  相似文献

We study the generation of spin squeezing via the hole burning of selected Dicke states out of an atomic coherent state prepared for a collection of N two-level atoms or ions. The atoms or ions of the atomic coherent state are not entangled, but the removal of one or more Dicke states generates entanglement, and spin squeezing occurs for some ranges of the relevant parameters. Spin squeezing in a collection of two-level atoms or ions is of importance for precision spectroscopy.  相似文献

The generation of atomic entanglement is discussed in a system that atoms are trapped in separate cavities which are connected via optical fibres. Two distant atoms can be projected to Bell-state by synchronized turning off of the local laser fields and then performing a single quantum measurement by a distant controller. The distinct advantage of this scheme is that it works in a regime where Δ≈κ〉〉g, which makes the scheme insensitive to cavity strong leakage. Moreover, the fidelity is not affected by atomic spontaneous emission.  相似文献

We report a scalable linear optical scheme for generating entangled states of multiple ququarts in which the individual single-ququart state is prepared with the biphoton polarization state of frequency-nondegenerate spontaneous parametric down-conversion. The output state is calculated with the full consideration of the higher order effect (double-pair events) of spontaneous parametric down-conversion. Scalability to multiple-ququart entanglement is demonstrated with examples: linear optical entanglement of three and four individual biphoton ququarts.  相似文献

We propose a scheme for generating a two-atom entangled state and an N-atom W state using adiabatic evolution of dark eigenstates in cavity QED. The time required to complete the process does not need precise control. Since the cavity modes are never excited during the operations by engineering adiabatic evolution and controlling the atom–cavity couplings, the decoherence of the cavity decay can be suppressed.  相似文献
