Bifunctional silanes, such as γ‐aminopropyltriethoxysilane (γ‐APS), are able to adsorb to a substrate via both functional groups creating a number of possible orientations for an adsorbed molecule within an organosilane film. The orientation of dip coated γ‐APS films on native zinc oxide surfaces as a function of solution pH has been studied using near edge X‐ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) spectroscopy. The NEXAFS results shed further light on the changes in the orientation that take place during the oscillatory adsorption of these molecules and reveal new insights into the molecular reorganisations that occur with changing solution pH. The composition of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) on graphite anodes is characterized within a comparative surface analytical study varying systematically the electrolyte composition and the cycling conditions. In particular, the conducting salts lithium hexafluorophosphate and lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide as well as vinylene carbonate and 1‐fluoroethylene carbonate as different electrolyte additives are compared regarding the SEI formation under different cycling conditions. A comprehensive study using X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy revealed pronounced differences of the SEI compositions at different aging stages. Both additives significantly influence the SEI composition and are able to prevent from parasitic side reactions as well as from decomposition of the conducting salt lithium hexafluorophosphate. This study suggests a promising approach to improve the SEI properties to enhance long‐term stability of lithium‐ion batteries by changing the electrolyte composition. A rapid and sensitive LC–MS/MS method with good accuracy and precision was developed and validated for the pharmacokinetic study of quercetin‐3‐O‐β‐d ‐glucopyranosyl‐7‐O‐β‐d ‐gentiobioside (QGG) in Sprague–Dawley rats. Plasma samples were simply precipitated by methanol and then analyzed by LC–MS/MS. A Venusil® ASB C18 column (2.1 × 50 mm, i.d. 5 μm) was used for separation, with methanol–water (50:50, v/v) as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 300 μL/min. The optimized mass transition ion‐pairs (m/z) for quantitation were 787.3/301.3 for QGG, and 725.3/293.3 for internal standard. The linear range was 7.32–1830 ng/mL with an average correlation coefficient of 0.9992, and the limit of quantification was 7.32 ng/mL. The intra‐ and inter‐day precision and accuracy were less than ±15%. At low, medium and high quality control concentrations, the recovery and matrix effect of the analyte and IS were in the range of 89.06–92.43 and 88.58–97.62%, respectively. Four β‐nucleated polypropylene samples with increasing die draw ratio (DDR) were prepared to modify lamellae arrangement. The DSC, SEM, and 2D‐XRD results show that all four cast films had similar crystallinity, high contents of β‐crystal but lowering stability of β‐lamellae with ascending DDR. Meanwhile, the anisotropy of β‐lamellae distribution strengthens gently and the stacked lamellae structure perpendicular to the machine direction (MD) predominates dramatically. Tensile testing at 25 °C and 90 °C were conducted along MD and transverse direction (TD), respectively. The markedly expanding difference of deformation indicates the anisotropy highlighted significantly. Additionally, when the samples stretched along MD, a more homogeneous deformation occurs with ascending anisotropy, which is completely opposite to the β‐lamellae stability. But samples deformed more heterogeneous when stretched along TD. The characterization of morphological evolutions during stretching shows that the stacked lamellae debonds uniformly and abundant microvoids formed when the sample stretched along MD with higher anisotropy, resulting in evenly dispersion of stress, consequently making a more uniform distribution of defects and a better isotropic deformation. Moreover, the microfibrils and defects distributed uniformly within higher orientation sample after longitudinal stretching stretched along MD, leading to the dramatic improvement of pore size distribution of the membrane after biaxial stretching. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new type of amphiphilic macromolecule was synthesized through the attachment of a poly(ethylene glycol) chain to a permethyl‐amino‐β‐cyclodextrin ring. The structure of the product was studied with 1D and 2D NMR experiments and with MALDI‐TOF MS. The resulting comet‐shaped molecule showed self‐assembly behavior in polar solvents. The presence of supramolecular structures in aqueous media was detected with dynamic light scattering and proven also by 2D NOESY and DOSY experiments. The supramolecular structures that formed could serve as starting materials for new types of drug delivery bioconjugates containing two independent dopable sites, that is, the cyclodextrin ring and the core of the supramolecular structure. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Graphite micropowder has been modified with 4‐amino‐2,6‐diphenylphenol immobilized onto a basal plane pyrolytic graphite electrode and explored for the indirect electrochemical sensing of Δ9‐tetrahydrocannabinol in artificial saliva. The protocol is based on the electrochemical formation of quinoneimine which specifically reacts with Δ9‐tetrahydrocannabinol resulting in the loss of the quinoneimine which can be monitored via voltammetry. It is demonstrated that Δ9‐tetrahydrocannabinol can be detected in artificial saliva over the micromolar range. Such a protocol may find application in screening for drug abuse.  相似文献

We have examined whether parallel β‐sheet secondary structure becomes more stable as the number of β‐strands increases, via comparisons among peptides designed to adopt two‐ or three‐stranded parallel β‐sheet conformations in aqueous solution. Our three‐strand design is the first experimental model of a triple‐stranded parallel β‐sheet. Analysis of the designed peptides by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy supports the hypothesis that increasing the number of β‐strands, from two to three, increases the stability of the parallel β‐sheet. We present the first experimental evidence for cooperativity in the folding of a triple‐stranded parallel β‐sheet, and we show how minimal model systems may enable experimental documentation of characteristic properties, such as CD spectra, of parallel β‐sheets.  相似文献

Cyclodextrins are used in many drug formulations since their cavities provide microenvironments where drug molecules can enter and form inclusion complexes for controlled drug delivery. Supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2) is an alternative to organic solvents and a very attractive medium for the preparation of these inclusion complexes. The potential ability of triacetyl‐β‐cyclodextrin (TA‐β‐CD) to form inclusion complexes in addition to its high miscibility in liquid and scCO2 could offer a chance for an economical and environmental friendly chemical processing. In this work, high‐pressure NMR studies were performed in order to obtain information on the molecular structure and dynamics of TA‐β‐CD in scCO2 at 313.15 K and 20 MPa and its ability to form inclusion complexes under these conditions was studied. The influence of scCO2 on a number of NMR spectral parameters, such as chemical shifts, spin‐spin coupling constants, nuclear Overhauser effect (NOE) and spin‐lattice relaxation (T1) has been studied. We unequivocally show for the first time structural changes of TA‐β‐CD in scCO2, like acetyl chain orientation and overall shape distortions that can affect its inclusion capability in this medium. The possibility of cavity self‐closure is discussed and the results of two inclusion studies that support cavity self‐closure, with the angiotensin‐converting enzyme inhibitor, captopril, and the nonsteroid anti‐inflammatory drug, flufenamic acid, are presented.
