The first N‐allenyl derivative of trifluoromethanesulfonamide, N‐benzyl‐N‐(allenyl)trifluoromethanesulfonamide ( 1 ), was studied experimentally by the FT‐IR spectroscopy and theoretically at the DFT and MP2 levels of theory. The intramolecular interaction of the nitrogen atom with the triflyl and the allenyl group was studied in comparison with the analogously substituted vinyl derivatives. Compound 1 in heptane solution at 295–183 K exists as an equilibrium mixture of conformational isomers. Protonation at different basic sites in a series of reference molecules is studied theoretically. The central C2 atom of the allenyl group in 1 has the highest proton affinity, which is 16 kcal/mol higher than in the N‐vinyl analogues. The relative ability of the allenyl and vinyl groups to conjugation with an electron‐rich and electron‐deficient nitrogen atom lone electron pair is discussed. From the NBO analysis, the conjugation of the nitrogen lone electron pair with the allenyl group is much stronger than with the vinyl group. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The effect of the electron–acceptor substituent CF3SO2 at the imine nitrogen atom on the basicity and the electron distribution in N,N‐alkylformamidines ( 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 ) was studied experimentally by the FTIR spectroscopy and theoretically at the DFT (B3LYP/6‐311+G(d,p)) level of theory, including the natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis. The calculated proton affinities of the imine nitrogen atom and the sulfonyl oxygen (PAN′ and PAO) depend on the atomic charges, the C?N′ and N′―S bond polarity and on the energy of interaction of the amine nitrogen and the oxygen lone pairs with antibonding π* and σ*‐orbitals. The basicity of the imine nitrogen atom is increased with the increase of the electron‐donating power of the substituent at the amine nitrogen atom due to stronger interaction nN → π*C?N′, but is decreased for the electron‐withdrawing groups MeSO2 and CF3SO2 at the imine nitrogen atom in spite of the increase of this conjugation. Protonation of ( 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 ) in CH2Cl2 solution in the presence of CF3SO3H occurs at the imine nitrogen atom, while the formation of hydrogen bonds with 4‐fluorophenol takes place at the sulfonyl oxygen atom, whose basicity is lower than that of N,N′‐dimethylmethanesulfonamide but higher than of N,N′‐dimethyltrifluoromethanesulfonamide. FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of 4‐chloro‐2‐(4‐bromophenylcarbamoyl)phenyl acetate were recorded and analyzed. The vibrational wavenumbers and corresponding vibrational assignments were examined theoretically using the Gaussian03 set of quantum chemistry codes. The red shift of the NH stretching wavenumber in the infrared (IR) spectrum from the computed wavenumber indicates the weakening of the NH bond resulting in proton transfer to the neighbouring oxygen atom. The simultaneous IR and Raman activations of the CO stretching mode give the charge transfer interaction through a π‐conjugated path. Optimized geometrical parameters of the title compound are in agreement with similar reported structures. From the optimized structure, it is clear that the hydrogen bonding decreases the double bond character of CO bond and increases the double bond character of the C N bonds. The first hyperpolarizability, predicted infrared intensities and Raman activities are reported. The calculated first hyperpolarizability is comparable with the reported values of similar derivatives and is an attractive object for future studies of non‐linear optics. The assignments of the normal modes are done by potential energy distribution (PED) calculations. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The Fourier transform infrared (FT‐IR) spectrum of N‐hydroxyphthalimide has been recorded in the range of 4000–400 cm−1, and the Fourier transform Raman (FT‐Raman) spectrum of N‐hydroxyphthalimide has been recorded in the range of 4000–50 cm−1. With the hope of providing more and effective information on the fundamental vibrations, the Density Functional Theory (DFT)‐Becke3‐Lee‐Yang‐Parr (B3LYP) level with 6‐31G* basis set has been employed in quantum chemical analysis, and normal coordinate analysis has been performed on N‐hydroxyphthalimide by assuming Cs symmetry. The computational wavenumbers are in good agreement with the observed results. The theoretical spectra obtained along with intensity data agree well with the observed spectra. The FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of anilinium sulfate were recorded and analyzed. The surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) was recorded from a silver electrode. The vibrational wavenumbers of the compound have been computed using the Hartree‐Fock/6‐31G* basis and compared with the experimental values. The molecule is adsorbed on the silver surface with the benzene ring in a tilted orientation. The presence of amino and sulfate group vibrations in the SERS spectrum reveal the interaction between amino and sulfate groups with the silver surface. The direction of the charge transfer contribution to SERS has been discussed from the frontier orbital theory. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of 4‐chloro‐2‐(3‐chlorophenylcarbamoyl) phenyl acetate were studied. Vibrational wavenumbers and corresponding vibrational assignments were examined theoretically using the Gaussian03 set of quantum chemistry codes and the normal modes are assigned by potential energy distribution (PED) calculations. Simultaneous IR and Raman activation of the CO stretching mode shows the charge transfer interaction through a π‐conjugated path. Optimized geometrical parameters of the title compound are in agreement with the reported values. Analysis of the phenyl ring modes shows that C C stretching mode is equally active as strong bands in both IR and Raman, which can be interpreted as the evidence of intramolecular charge transfer via conjugated ring path and is responsible for hyperpolarizability enhancement leading to nonlinear optical activity. The red‐shift of the NH‐stretching wavenumber in the infrared spectrum from the computed wavenumber indicates the weakening of the NH bond resulting in proton transfer to the neighboring oxygen atom. Fourier transform infrared (FT‐IR) and FT‐Raman spectra of 4‐ethyl‐N‐(2′‐hydroxy‐5′‐nitrophenyl)benzamide were recorded and analyzed. A surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectrum was recorded in silver colloid. The vibrational wavenumbers and corresponding vibrational assignments were examined theoretically using the Gaussian03 set of quantum chemistry codes. The red shift of the NH stretching wavenumber in the infrared spectrum from the computational wavenumber indicates the weakening of the NH bond resulting in proton transfer to the neighboring oxygen atom. The simultaneous IR and Raman activation of the CO stretching mode gives the charge transfer interaction through a π‐conjugated path. The presence of methyl modes in the SERS spectrum indicates the nearness of the methyl group to the metal surface, which affects the orientation and metal molecule interaction. The first hyperpolarizability and predicted infrared intensities are reported. The calculated first hyperpolarizability is comparable with the reported values of similar derivatives and is an attractive subject for future studies of nonlinear optics. As an important chemosensing material involving hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP) for detecting nerve agents, para‐HFIP aniline (p‐HFIPA) has been firstly synthesized through a new reaction approach and then characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrometry experiments. Fourier transform infrared absorption spectroscopy (FT‐IR) and FT‐Raman spectra of p‐HFIPA have been obtained in the regions of 4000–500 and 4000–200 cm−1, respectively. Detailed identifications of its fundamental vibrational bands have been given for the first time. Moreover, p‐HFIPA has been optimized and vibrational wavenumber analysis can be subsequently performed via density functional theory (DFT) approach in order to assist these identifications in the experimental FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra. The present experimental FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of p‐HFIPA are in good agreement with theoretical FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Four L ‐valine (L ‐Val) phosphonate dipeptides that are potent inhibitors of zinc metalloproteases, namely, L ‐Val‐C(Me)2‐PO3H2 (V1), L ‐Val‐CH(iP)‐PO3H2 (V2), L ‐Val‐CH(iB)‐PO3H2 (V3), and L ‐Val‐C(Me)(iP)‐PO3H2 (V4), are studied by Fourier‐transform infrared (FT‐IR) spectroscopy, Fourier‐transform Raman spectroscopy (FT‐RS), and surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). The band assignment (wavenumbers and intensities) is made based on (B3LYP/6‐311 + + G**) calculations. Comparison of theoretical FT‐IR and FT‐RS spectra with those of SERS allows to obtain information on the orientation of these dipeptides as well as specific‐competitive interactions of their functionalities with the silver substrate. More specifically, V1 and V4 appear to interact with the silver substrate mainly via a  CsgCH3 moiety localized at the  NamideCsg(CH3)P molecular fragment. In addition, the  POH and isopropyl units of V4 assist in the adsorption process of this molecule. In contrast, the  CαNH2 and  PO3H groups of V2 and V3 interact with the silver nanoparticles, whereas their isopropyl and isobutyl fragments seem to be repelled by the silver substrate (except for the  CH2  of V3), similar to the  Cβ(CH3)2 fragment of L ‐Val for all L ‐Val phosphonate dipeptides investigated in this work. The adsorption mechanism of these molecules onto the colloidal silver surface is also affected by amide bond behavior. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The experimental and theoretical vibrational spectra of 2‐fluorophenylboronic acid (2fpba) were studied. The Fourier transform Raman and Fourier transform infrared spectra of the 2fpba molecule were recorded in the solid phase. The structural and spectroscopic analysis of the molecule was carried out by using Hartree‐Fock and density functional harmonic calculations. For the title molecule, only one form was found to be the most stable structure, by using B3LYP level with the 6‐31++G(d,p) basis set. Selected experimental bands were assigned and characterized on the basis of the scaled theoretical wavenumbers by their total energy distribution (TED). The 1H and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) chemical shifts of the 2fpba molecule were calculated using the Gauge‐Invariant‐ atomic orbital (GIAO) method in DMSO solution using IEF‐PCM model and compared with the experimental data. Finally, geometric parameters, vibrational wavenumbers and chemical shifts were compared with available experimental data of the molecule. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The Fourier transform Raman and IR spectra of betulin (lup‐20(29)‐ene‐3β,28‐diol) crystalline powder were recorded and analyzed. The vibrational wavenumbers and the corresponding vibrational assignments were theoretically studied using the Gaussian 03 package. The calculated vibrational wavenumbers with the B3LYP density functionals are generally consistent with the observed spectra. A complete vibrational characterization of betulin modes has been proposed here for the first time. Based on the vibrational analysis, two direct applications of the results have been described. It was shown that the outer bark of Betula Pendula Roth (the birch tree) contains betulin as a major component along with minor amounts of betulinic acid (BA), lupeol and other pentacyclic triterpenes derivatives. Since the major disadvantage of betulin is its low solubility, giving rise to serious problems in making pharmaceutical formulations, several guest–host type of complexes of betulin–cyclodextrins have been prepared and analyzed using FT‐Raman spectroscopy. Based on the vibrational analysis, it was concluded that the OH and CH2OH functional groups are free from chemical interactions with the cyclodextrin cavity. Amaranth (E123, Food Red 9, FD & C Red 2) is a sulfonated azo dye used as a color additive in foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of amaranth were recorded and analyzed. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were performed to derive the equilibrium geometry, vibrational wavenumbers, intensities and first hyperpolarizability. The results of the optimized molecular structure gave clear evidence for the intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) and intramolecular hydrogen bonding in the molecule. Azo stretching wavenumbers are lowered owing to conjugation and π‐electron delocalization. Time‐dependent density functional theory (TD‐DFT) calculations of the electronic spectra were performed on the optimized structure and compared with the experimental UV‐visible spectrum. Vibrational spectra, natural bonding orbitals (NBO) analysis and optimized geometry indicate C H·N hydrogen bonding in the molecule. The first hyperpolarizability of the molecule was calculated. The optical nonlinearity of the dye is due to the donation of the electron density from the hydroxyl group of the conjugated system via naphthalene ( 2 ) ring into π*‐orbital of the azo moiety. In this work, the experimental and theoretical vibrational spectra of N1‐methyl‐2‐chloroaniline (C7H8NCl) were studied. FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra of the title molecule in the liquid phase were recorded in the region 4000–400 cm?1 and 3500–50 cm?1, respectively. The structural and spectroscopic data of the molecule in the ground state were calculated by using density functional method (B3LYP) with the 6‐311++G(d,p) basis set. The vibrational frequencies were calculated and scaled values were compared with experimental FT‐IR and FT‐Raman spectra. The observed and calculated frequencies are found to be in good agreement. The complete assignments were performed on the basis of the total energy distribution (TED) of the vibrational modes, calculated with scaled quantum mechanics (SQM) method. 13C and 1H NMR chemical shifts results were compared with the experimental values. The optimized geometric parameters (bond lengths and bond angles) were given and are in agreement with the corresponding experimental values of aniline and p‐methyl aniline. The results of the first structural studies (with the use of both experimental and theoretical methods) on pyrazine‐2‐amidoxime (PAOX) were shown and discussed. FT‐IR spectra were recorded in different concentrations of the PAOX in apolar solvent to check the possibility of the inter‐ or intramolecular hydrogen‐bond formation. All possible tautomers–rotamers of PAOX were then theoretically considered at the DFT(B3LYP)/6‐311+G** level in vacuo. For selected isomers, calculations were also performed at higher levels of theory {B3LYP/6‐311+G(3df,2p) and G3B3}. Based on the results of DFT calculations, the most stable isomers were found, and their total free energies and infrared spectra were calculated. The energy variation plots for the N8?C7?N9?O10 and N1?C2?C7?N9 dihedral angles were also computed to find two energy barriers, one for E/Z isomerization around the C7?N9 double bond and the other one for rotation of the pyrazinyl ring around the C2?C7 single bond. The results show that the stability of the PAOX isomers strongly depend on their configuration and orientation of the substituents. The possibilities of inter‐ and intramolecular hydrogen bonds were also experimentally and theoretically checked. Finally, a potential of mean force was determined in CHCl3 for a dimer of PAOX with hexamethylphosphoramide. Both, experimental and theoretical results are in agreement. IR and Raman spectra (RS) of polycrystalline 3‐(or 4 or 6)‐methyl‐5‐nitro‐2‐pyridinethione have been measured and analyzed by means of density functional theory (DFT) quantum chemical calculations. The B3LYP/6‐311G(2d,2p) approach has been applied for both the thiol and thione tautomers due to the possibility of the formation of these two thiole forms. Molecular structures of these compounds have been optimized starting from different molecular geometries of the thiol group and thione group. Two conformations of the 2‐mercaptopyridine, trans and cis, have been taken into account. It was shown that the studied compounds appear in the solid state in the thione form. The effect of the hydrogen‐bond formation in the studied compounds has been considered. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Infrared spectra at 300 and 77 K and Raman spectra at 300 K of the valpromide (Vpd), N‐substituted derivatives, N‐ethylvalpromide (Etvpd), N‐isopropylvalpromide (Ipvpd) and the N,N‐disubstituted derivative, N,N‐dimethylvalpromide (Dmvpd) with antiepileptic activity, have been measured and analyzed with results derived from computational chemistry calculation. In agreement with theoretical predictions, experimental data indicate that while in Etvpd, Dmvpd and Ipvpd there are four different conformational co‐existing components (Etvpd: TTCG+, TCCG, TTTC, G+G+C G+; Dmvpd: TTCC, GTTA+, G+ATC, G+AC A+; Ipvpd: TTCT, TCCT, TCCC, G TTT) in the Vpd there are only three distinct stable conformations of C1 symmetry group: TTC, TCT, G+G+T. Based on the accuracy of the B3LYP calculation, with the 6‐31 + G** basis set estimated by comparison between the predicted values of the vibrational modes and the available experimental data, we performed a structural and vibrational study of the amide group in the Vpd and their derivatives. We found that small nonplanarity deviations of C(O)N backbone induce significant changes on the structural and spectroscopic properties. These are not compatible with the decreasing of the resonance effect as it is produced when the twisting around the C(O) N increases. From the Natural Bond Orbital (NBO) analysis the existence of stabilizing electrostatic interactions of type C H···O/N and C H···H N/C, which induce significant structural changes and a complex electronic redistribution of charge on the π‐system in those structures becomes evident. We view this as a consequence of the filled electron density change Lewis‐type NBOs type lpO1, 2, lpN1, σ(C H)N acyl and empty non‐Lewis NBOs type σ*(C H)N acyl, σ*N H. The B3LYP/6‐31G* method was used to investigate the configurational properties of allene (1,2‐propadiene) ( 1 ), 1,2,3‐butatriene ( 2 ), 1,2,3,4‐pentateriene ( 3 ), 1,2,3,4,5‐hexapentaene ( 4 ), 1,2,3,4,5,6‐heptahexaene ( 5 ), 1,2,3,4,5,6,7‐octaheptaene ( 6 ), 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8‐nonaoctaene ( 7 ), and 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9‐decanonaene ( 9 ). The calculations at the B3LYP/6‐31G* level of theory showed that the mutual interconversion energy barrier in compounds 1 – 8 are: 209.73, 131.77, 120.34, 85.00, 80.91, 62.19, 55.56, and 46.83 kJ mol?1, respectively. The results showed that the difference between the average C?C double bond lengths ( ) values in cumulene compounds 1 and 2 , is larger than those between 7 and 8 , which suggest that with large n (number of carbon atoms in cumulene chain), the values approach a limiting value. Accordingly, based on the plotted data, the extrapolation to n = ∞, gives nearly the same limiting (i. e., ). Also, NBO results revealed that the sum of π‐bond occupancies, , decrease from 1 to 8 , and inversely, the sum of π‐antibonding orbital occupancies, , increase from compound 1 to compound 8 . The decrease of values for compounds 1 – 8 , is found to follow the same trend as the barrier heights of mutual interconversion in compounds 1 – 8 , while the decrease of the barrier height of mutual interconversion in compounds 1 – 8 is found to follow the opposite trend as the increase in the number of carbon atom. Accordingly, besides the previously reported allylic resonant stabilization effect in the transition state structures, the results reveal that the values, , Δ(EHOMO ? ELUMO), and the C atom number could be considered as significant criteria for the mutual interconversion in cumulene compounds 1 – 8 . This work reports also useful predictive linear relationships between mutual interconversion energy barriers ( ) in cumulene compounds and the following four parameters: , , Δ(EHOMO ? ELUMO), and CNumber. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The experimental and theoretical study on the structures and vibrations of 5‐fluoro‐salicylic acid and 5‐chloro‐salicylic acid (5‐FSA and 5‐ClSA, C7H5FO3 and C7H5ClO3) is presented. The Fourier transform infrared spectra (4000–400 cm−1) and the Fourier transform Raman spectra (4000–50 cm−1) of the title molecules in the solid phase were recorded. The molecular structures, vibrational wavenumbers, infrared intensities, Raman intensities and Raman scattering activities were calculated for a pair of molecules linked by the intermolecular O H···O hydrogen bond. The geometrical parameters and energies of 5‐FSA and 5ClSA were obtained for all eight conformers/isomers from density functional theory (DFT) (B3LYP) with 6‐311++G(d,p) basis set calculations. The computational results identified the most stable conformer of 5‐FSA and 5‐ClSA as the C1 form. The complete assignments were performed on the basis of the total energy distribution (TED) of the vibrational modes, calculated with scaled quantum mechanics (SQM) method. The spectroscopic and theoretical results were compared with the corresponding properties for 5‐FSA and 5‐ClSA monomers and dimer of C1 conformer. The optimized bond lengths, bond angles and calculated wavenumbers showed the best agreement with the experimental results. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This work deals with the vibrational spectroscopy of 2‐amino‐4,6‐dihydroxy pyrimidine (ADHP) by means of quantum chemical calculations. The mid‐ and far FTIR and FT‐Raman spectra were measured in the condensed state. The fundamental vibrational wavenumbers and intensity of vibrational bands were evaluated using density functional theory (DFT) with the standard B3LYP/6‐311 + G** methods and basis set combinations, and were scaled using various scale factors, which yielded good agreement between the observed and calculated wavenumbers. The vibrational spectra were interpreted with the aid of normal coordinate analysis based on the scaled density functional force field. The results of the calculations were applied to simulate the infrared and Raman spectra of the title compound, which showed excellent agreement with the observed spectra.
