We have used a laser deposition method to obtain films of the ternary compound CuGa5Se8. We have studied their composition and structure. We have established that both the crystals and the films of the indicated compound crystallize in a defect-containing chalcopyrite structure. We have determined the energy and nature of the optical transitions from the transmission spectra in the region of the intrinsic absorption edge. We have calculated the valence-band crystal-field (ΔCF) and spin–orbit (ΔSO) splitting energies according to Hopfield’s quasicubic model for the ternary compound CuGa5Se8.  相似文献

We present the main aspects of Weber’s electrodynamics and of Maxwell’s equations. We discuss Maxwell’s point of view related to Weber’s electrodynamics. We compare Weber’s force with Lorentz’s force. We analyse the relation between Weber’s law and Maxwell’s equations. We consider a non-universal Z′ that affects primarily the third generation fermions as an example of new physics associated with the top-quark. We first discuss constraints on the mass and coupling strength of such a Z′. We then turn our attention to the flavor changing neutral currents (FCNC) present in the model. We discuss the experimental constraints and their implications. We propose an ansatz to understand the smallness of the FCNC in terms of the CKM matrix.  相似文献

We analyze the cross-correlation matrix C of the index returns of the main financial markets after the 2008 crisis using methods of random matrix theory. We test the eigenvalues of C for universal properties of random matrices and find that the majority of the cross-correlation coefficients arise from randomness. We show that the eigenvector of the largest deviating eigenvalue of C represents a global market itself. We reveal that high volatility of financial markets is observed at the same times with high correlations between them which lowers the risk diversification potential even if one constructs a widely internationally diversified portfolio of stocks. We identify and compare the connection and cluster structure of markets before and after the crisis using minimal spanning and ultrametric hierarchical trees. We find that after the crisis, the co-movement degree of the markets increases. We also highlight the key financial markets of pre and post crisis using main centrality measures and analyze the changes. We repeat the study using rank correlation and compare the differences. Further implications are discussed.  相似文献

We study the notions of conditional probabilities, independence and ε-independence for states on symmetric logics. We prove that a non-atomic state on the logic with the Lyapunov’s property is determined by its specification of independent events. We present the examples of (1) Δ-subadditive but is not subadditive and (2) two-valued non Δ-subadditive states on symmetric logic. We investigate the independence relation transitivity for a Δ-subadditive state. We also study continuity properties of conditional probabilities and ε-independence relation with respect to natural pseudometric for Δ-subadditive state. We consider a model two-mode coupled-photon system and verify that the photon distribution for this system is exactly super-Poissonian. We calculate the Glauber–Sudarshan diagonal P representation for both the individual photon subsystem and the complete photon–photon complex. We present the detailed analysis on the threshold temperature of the nonclassical behavior for the both cases. We discuss the effect of the interaction between two photons on the threshold temperature.  相似文献

We consider quantum plasmas of electrons and motionless ions. We describe separate evolution of spin-up and spin-down electrons. We present corresponding set of quantum hydrodynamic equations. We assume that plasmas are placed in an uniform external magnetic field. We account different occupation of spin-up and spin-down quantum states in equilibrium degenerate plasmas. This effect is included via equations of state for pressure of each species of electrons. We study oblique propagation of longitudinal waves. We show that instead of two well-known waves (the Langmuir wave and the Trivelpiece–Gould wave), plasmas reveal four wave solutions. New solutions exist due to both the separate consideration of spin-up and spin-down electrons and different occupation of spin-up and spin-down quantum states in equilibrium state of degenerate plasmas.  相似文献

We study the finite-size effects associated with the appearance of a light, i.e. Goldstone, particle in the Kogut-Susskind lattice gauge theory. We analytically study the order parameter (XX) and the two-meson propagator in the strong coupling limit on a finite lattice. We give their explicit interpolations between the broken phase of the infinite-volume limit and the symmetric one of the finite system. We argue that the results obtained in the strong coupling limit are more general.  相似文献

We solve the Leggett equations for the BCS-BEC crossover in a three dimensional resonance p-wave superfluid with the symmetry of the A1 phase. We calculate the sound velocity, the normal density, and the specific heat for the BCS domain (μ > 0), for the BEC domain (μ < 0), and close to the important point μ = 0 in the 100% polarized case. We find the indications of a quantum phase transition close to the point μ(T = 0) = 0. Deep in the BCS and BEC domains, the crossover ideas of Leggett, Nozieres, and Schmitt-Rink work quite well. We discuss the spectrum of orbital waves, the paradox of intrinsic angular momentum and the complicated problem of chiral anomaly in the BCS A1 phase at T = 0. We present two different approaches to the chiral anomaly, based on supersymmetric hydrodynamics and on the formal analogy with the Dirac equation in quantum electrodynamics. We evaluate the damping of nodal fermions due to different decay processes in the superclean case at T = 0 and find that a ballistic regime ωτ ≫ 1 occurs. We propose to use aerogel or nonmagnetic impurities to reach the hydrodynamic regime ωτ ≪ 1 at T = 0. We discuss the concept of the spectral flow and exact cancelations between time derivatives of anomalous and quasiparticle currents in the equation for the total linear momentum conservation. We propose to derive and solve the kinetic equation for the nodal quasiparticles in both the hydrodynamic and ballistic regimes to demonstrate this cancelation explicitly. We briefly discuss the role of the other residual interactions different from damping and invite experimentalists to measure the spectrum and damping of orbital waves in the A phase of 3He at low temperatures.  相似文献

We have studied the magnetodielectric response of Y2Cu2O5, the so-called blue phase in the Y2O3-CuO-BaO phase diagram. Based on symmetry principles, we predict and demonstrate magneto-dielectric coupling on a single crystal sample. We report an anomaly in the dielectric constant at the ordering temperature of the Cu spins. We probe the magnetic field-induced phase transitions between four different magnetic phases using magneto-capacitance measurements, demonstrating relatively strong magnetodielectric coupling. We observe an increase in dielectric constant in the spin-flip phase where there exists spontaneous magnetization. We construct a detailed magnetic phase diagram. The magnetodielectric coupling is analyzed in terms of striction induced by symmetric superexchange and optical phonon frequency shifts.  相似文献

We study the one-dimensional ballistic aggregation process in the continuum limit for one-sided Brownian initial velocity (i.e. particles merge when they collide and move freely between collisions, and in the continuum limit the initial velocity on the right side is a Brownian motion that starts from the origin x=0). We consider the cases where the left side is either at rest or empty at t=0. We derive explicit expressions for the velocity distribution and the mean density and current profiles built by this out-of-equilibrium system. We find that on the right side the mean density remains constant whereas the mean current is uniform and grows linearly with time. All quantities show an exponential decay on the far left. We also obtain the properties of the leftmost cluster that travels towards the left. We find that in both cases relevant lengths and masses scale as t2 and the evolution is self-similar.  相似文献

We consider the recently proposed non-relativistic Ho?ava–Lifshitz four-dimensional theory of gravity. We study a particular limit of the theory which admits flat Minkowski vacuum and we discuss thoroughly the quadratic fluctuations around it. We find that there are two propagating polarizations of the metric. We then explicitly construct a spherically symmetric, asymptotically flat, black hole solution that represents the analog of the Schwarzschild solution of GR. We show that this theory has the same Newtonian and post-Newtonian limits as GR and thus, it passes the classical tests. We also consider homogeneous and isotropic cosmological solutions and we show that although the equations are identical with GR cosmology, the couplings are constrained by the observed primordial abundance of 4He.  相似文献

We discuss the zero temperature phase diagram of a dilute gas with three fermionic species. We make use of solvable limits to conjecture the behavior of the system in the “unitary” regions. The physics of the Thomas-Efimov effect plays a role in these considerations. We find a rich phase diagram with superfluid, gapless superfluid and inhomogeneous phases with different symmetry breaking patterns. We then discuss one particular possible experimental implementation in a system of 6Li atoms and the possible phases arising in this system as an external magnetic field is varied across three overlapping Feshbach resonances. We also suggest how to experimentally distinguish the different phases.  相似文献

We study the motion of the Gaussian obstacle potential created by a blue detuned laser beam through a phase-separated binary condensate in the pancake-shaped traps. We show that phase-separated binary condensates like 85Rb–87Rb, with appropriate interaction parameters, can be used experimentally to create obstacle assisted droplet and coreless vortex dipoles. We theoretically analyze the energetic stability of condensates with normal and coreless vortices. We confirm our analytic and semi-analytic results by numerical solutions of coupled Gross–Pitaevskii equations.  相似文献

We simulate SU(2) gauge theory with six massless fundamental Dirac fermions. We measure the running of the coupling and the mass in the Schrödinger Functional scheme. We observe very slow running of the coupling constant. We measure the mass anomalous dimension γ, and find it is between 0.135 and 1.03 in the range of couplings consistent with the existence of an IR fixed point.  相似文献

We study non-associative twisted group algebras over (\mathbbZ2)n{(\mathbb{Z}_2)^n} with cubic twisting functions. We construct a series of algebras that extend the classical algebra of octonions in the same way as the Clifford algebras extend the algebra of quaternions. We study their properties, give several equivalent definitions and prove their uniqueness within some natural assumptions. We then prove a simplicity criterion.  相似文献
