The interference between Coulomb excitation and nuclear excitation has been observed for 54, 56Fe, 60Ni, 114Cd, 152Sm, and 192Os by measuring excitation functions of elastic and inelastic deuteron scattering at back angles. The interference is strongly constructive, indicating a predominantly imaginary nuclear form factor. DWBA calculations using the collective model, although predicting constructive interference, are unable to predict the magnitude of the observed effect.  相似文献

Within the impulse approximation, polarization effects in inelastic deuteron scattering on nuclei are investigated in the region around the resonance of mass about 2190 MeV/c 2. It is shown that the spin-dependent part of the NNNN*(2190) amplitude plays a significant role at high momentum transfers. Predictions are obtained for some polarization observables and cross sections for various deuteron-spin-flip processes.  相似文献

In the present lectures we discuss the role of nuclear structure effects in deep inelastic scattering of leptons on the deuteron. The scattering amplitudes on the deuteron at small momentum transfers are described, taking into account the shadow corrections. In the framework of Regge pole theory, the inelastic shadow corrections are expressed in terms of the amplitudes of inelastic processes. The various forms of tensor potentials present in deuteron elastic and inelastic scattering on a deformed target nucleus are derived using a folding model for the deuteron-nucleus interaction. Approximate expressions for the radial dependence of the deformed tensor interactions parametrized with the derivatives of Woods-Saxon potentials are obtained and discussed for the case of a rotational nucleus.  相似文献

We investigated deep inelastic reactions in 238U + 238U collisions at 6.09, 6.49, 6.91, 7.1 and 7.35×A MeV at the VAMOS spectrometer (GANIL). A large transfer of neutrons and protons was observed at all beam energies. For a transfer of more than 10 nucleons the total kinetic energy of the detected fragments becomes independent of the beam energy and reaches values far below the Coulomb barrier for spherical fragments. This points to the formation of a di-nuclear system in the entrance channel which develops an elongated shape and a strong neck. For such reactions we expect an enhanced lifetime of the di-nuclear system which is significantly longer than the time scale for elastic and quasi-elastic reactions. Different theoretical approaches predict delay times of more than 5×10-21 s for a subset of our data.  相似文献

Possible effects of a π′ contribution to lepton deep-inelastic scattering (DIS) are analyzed. The exchange of the first radial excitation of the pion (π′(0?)) has been advocated recently to solve the notorious problem of hard vertex form factors innucleon-nucleon scattering. The π′-meson exchange contribution is calculated in addition to the well known pionic (Sullivan) contribution. Interference between π and π′ contributions and their possible influence on the cut-off mass parameter of the πNN form factor extracted from DIS on the nucleon are examined. It is shown that the orthogonality relation between the π and π′ wave functions, in conjunction with number and momentum sum rules, put strong restrictions on the size of the interference effect. The interference effect between π and π′ is found to be negligible for the nucleon quark distributions and to modify only higher moments of the quark distributions. The interference effects of a pionic contribution with other mesons are discussed.  相似文献

The differential cross sections for the inelastic scattering of 10 MeV, 19.6 MeV, 30.4 MeV, 40 MeV and 49.35 MeV protons to the 2+ state (1.409 MeV) in 54Fe and of 19.6 MeV protons to the 2+ state (0.846 MeV) in 56Fe are analyzed in conjunction with the available data on the asymmetries and spin-flip probability amplitudes. The scattering amplitudes for both one step (valence plus core polarization) and two step (intermediate resonance) processes are evaluated using an antisymmetrized distorted wave approximation. Collective model representations for both the one step (core polarization) and two step (intermediate resonance) processes are used, and included are the effects of deforming the full Thomas spin-orbit potentials. The one step processes are fixed by the analyses of the scattering of 30.4, 40 and 49.35 MeV protons, with the core polarization contributions being constrained by the B(E2) values for the γ-ray deexcitation of the 2+ states. The analyses of the 19.6 MeV data demonstrates the need for an extra (two step) contribution to the reaction process and are consistent with the virtual formation of an L = 3 giant resonance. The 10 MeV data most certainly demonstrate compound nucleus effects but could also have some strength due to the virtual formation of an intermediate L = 2 giant resonance. The resonance parameters are consistent with recent information concerning the mass variation of giant resonances.  相似文献

Mass and energy distributions of 238U fragments following fission induced by inelastic scattering of α-particles were obtained in a triple coincidence experiment. The total kinetic energy (TKE) of the fragments is observed to decrease with excitation energy.  相似文献

The general expressions for parity violation observables in elastic scattering of polarized and/or unpolarized electrons from unpolarized deuterons are given and are numerically evaluated for the kinematics of SAMPLE, PVA4 and G0 experiments. The dominant contribution from the interference of and Z exchange as well as the smaller contributions from strangeness (s components of the nucleon, parity odd admixtures in the deuteron wave function, anapole moments and radiative corrections are included and discussed in the context of parity-violating electron scattering experiments of present interest.  相似文献

The vector and tensor polarization of the deuteron after scattering and the dependence of the cross section on the polarization before scattering are given for elastic electron deuteron scattering treating the deuteron as a spin 1 elementary particle characterized by three electromagnetic formfactors and describing the interaction by the first Born approximation. By using polarization measurements a separation of the charge and quadrupole formfactors may be accomplished, and thus the assumptions may be tested, which are necessary for the extraction of the isoscalar nucleon formfactors from the deuteron formfactors.  相似文献

A simple model for scattering from a deuteron is studied. Within this model exact coupled channel solutions, including all multiple scattering series terms, are obtained for a fixed separation of the two scattering potentials. These solutions are compared with approximations which involve a spherically averaged or non-overlapping potential. Our results indicate that the non-negligible contributions arising from the overlapping potential region can be adequately reproduced by a combination of simple approximations thereby facilitating calculations of scattering from a more physical deuteron model.  相似文献

We calculate the structure functions for deep inelastic electron scattering on baryons in a two-dimensional model which incorporates pionic degrees of freedom explicitly. We analyze the behavior of these structure functions in the Bjorken limit and conclude that scaling and Regge behavior are satisfied. A trivial extension as a parton model can be achieved by just introducing the structure functions for the pion. We next generalize our calculation to nuclear matter and study the behavior of such a system under electron scattering. Scaling but not Regge behavior appears in the Bjorken limit. The diverse behavior in these two situations is carefully analyzed. Most of the results obtained in this paper are qualitatively independent of the dimensions of the model and therefore will hold in its four-dimensional generalization.  相似文献

We include the spin-orbit force in the analysis of inelastic proton-nucleus scattering. In the limit of zero-range nuclear forces, very simple results are obtained. To lowest order in the elementary spin-orbit amplitude, the spin-dependent nuclear amplitudes are proportional to the momentum transfer times the spin-independent nuclear amplitudes. Consequently, in the spin-independent cross section the region of the diffractive minima is not significantly affected by the elementary spinorbit amplitudes, whereas the subsidiary maxima are somewhat enhanced.  相似文献

A superfield action for the relativistic massless superparticle as a spinning particle is presented in the new gauge. The symmetries in the relativistic superparticle theory, that is to say, the invariances under, the reparametrization and the local supersymmetry-transformation in the parameter space, are manifest in this formalism. It is clear how these two kinds of transformations descend from a unified origin to be called “super-reparametrization”, which is a restricted form of the general coordinate transformation in the superspace. The action is manifestly invariant under these transformation by its constructions The minimal coupling with electromagnetic field is also constructed in the superfield formalism, and a manifestly invariant superfield action for the interacting superparticle is presented in our gauge. The formalism is extended to the construction of an action for theN=2 superparticle.  相似文献

The usual approach to second harmonic generation (SHG) is based on low-order pertubation theory and neglects the changes in the electronic states that are induced by the exciting beam. To see whathappens in this approximation fails we propose a new formalism, based on the method of excitation amplitudes, to set up a theory of the SHG response and other inelastic light scattering phenomena. We develop the quantum theory in the dipole approximation and show that the inclusion of electron-photon coupling to all others leads to new features. Strong exciting fields produce a nonnegligible SHG response in highly polarisable centro-symmetric systems, and the emitted spectrum shows a dynamical Stark effect.  相似文献
