Let {X n : n ?? 1} be a strictly stationary sequence of positively associated random variables with mean zero and finite variance. Set $S_n = \sum\limits_{k = 1}^n {X_k }$ , $Mn = \mathop {\max }\limits_{k \leqslant n} \left| {S_k } \right|$ , n ?? 1. We extend classical volume formulas for ellipsoids and zonoids to p-sums of segments $${vol}\left( {\sum\limits_{i=1}^m { \oplus_p } [ -x_i ,x_i ]} \right)^{1/n} \sim_{c_p} n^{ - \frac{1}{{p'}}} \left( {\sum\limits_{card(I) = n} {|\det (x_i)_i |^p}} \right)^{\frac{1}{{pn}}}$$ where x1,...,xm are m vectors in $\mathbb{R}^n ,\frac{1}{p} + \frac{1}{{p\prime }} = 1$ . According to the definition of Firey, the Minkowski p-sum of segments is given by $$\sum\limits_{i = 1}^m { \oplus _p [ - x_{i,} x_i ]} = \left\{ {\sum\limits_{i = 1}^m {\alpha _i } x_i \left| {\left( {\sum\limits_{i = 1}^m {|\alpha _i |^{p^\prime } } } \right)} \right.^{\frac{1}{{p^\prime }}} \leqslant 1} \right\}.$$ We describe related geometric properties of the Lewis maps associated to classical operator norms.  相似文献

In this work, we are mainly concerned with the existence of positive solutions for the fractional boundary-value problem $$ \left\{ {\begin{array}{*{20}{c}} {D_{0+}^{\alpha }D_{0+}^{\alpha }u=f\left( {t,u,{u}^{\prime},-D_{0+}^{\alpha }u} \right),\quad t\in \left[ {0,1} \right],} \hfill \\ {u(0)={u}^{\prime}(0)={u}^{\prime}(1)=D_{0+}^{\alpha }u(0)=D_{0+}^{{\alpha +1}}u(0)=D_{0+}^{{\alpha +1}}u(1)=0.} \hfill \\ \end{array}} \right. $$ Here ?? ?? (2, 3] is a real number, $ D_{0+}^{\alpha } $ is the standard Riemann?CLiouville fractional derivative of order ??. By virtue of some inequalities associated with the fractional Green function for the above problem, without the assumption of the nonnegativity of f, we utilize the Krasnoselskii?CZabreiko fixed-point theorem to establish our main results. The interesting point lies in the fact that the nonlinear term is allowed to depend on u, u??, and $ -D_{0+}^{\alpha } $ .  相似文献

We have found the asymptotic expansions of the series $$ \sum\limits_{k=0}^{\infty } {{{{\left( {-1} \right)}}^{{\beta k}}}Q\left( {\left( {{\delta^{\alpha }}-{{{\left( {ak+b} \right)}}^{\alpha }}} \right)+} \right)/{{{\left( {ak+b} \right)}}^{r+1 }}} $$ in powers of δ as δ → +∞, where β $ \mathbb{Z} $ , α, a, b > 0, r $ \mathbb{C} $ , and Q is an algebraic polynomial satisfying the condition Q(0) = 0. In particular cases, these series arise in the approximation of periodic differentiable functions by the Riesz means and the Cesáro means.  相似文献

This note is a study of approximation of classes of functions and asymptotic simultaneous approximation of functions by theM n -operators of Meyer-König and Zeller which are defined by $$(M_n f)(x) = (1 - x)^{n + 1} \sum\limits_{k = 0}^\infty {f\left( {\frac{k}{{n + k}}} \right)} \left( \begin{array}{l} n + k \\ k \\ \end{array} \right)x^k , n = 1,2,....$$ Among other results it is proved that for 0<α≤1 $$\mathop {\lim }\limits_{n \to \infty } n^{\alpha /2} \mathop {\sup }\limits_{f \in Lip_1 \alpha } \left| {(M_n f)(x) - f(x)} \right| = \frac{{\Gamma \left( {\frac{{\alpha + 1}}{2}} \right)}}{{\pi ^{1/2} }}\left\{ {2x(1 - x)^2 } \right\}^{\alpha /2} $$ and if for a functionf, the derivativeD m+2 f exist at a pointx∈(0, 1), then $$\mathop {\lim }\limits_{n \to \infty } 2n[D^m (M_n f) - D^m f] = \Omega f,$$ where Ω is the linear differential operator given by $$\Omega = x(1 - x)^2 D^{m + 2} + m(3x - 1)(x - 1)D^{m + 1} + m(m - 1)(3x - 2)D^m + m(m - 1)(m - 2)D^{m - 1} .$$   相似文献

Triebel (J Approx Theory 35:275–297, 1982; 52:162–203, 1988) investigated the boundary values of the harmonic functions in spaces of the Triebel–Lizorkin type ${\mathcal F^{\alpha,q}_{p}}$ on ${\mathbb{R}^{n+1}_+}$ by finding an characterization of the homogeneous Triebel–Lizorkin space ${{\bf \dot{F}}^{\alpha,q}_p}$ via its harmonic extension, where ${0 < p < \infty, 0 < q \leq \infty}$ , and ${\alpha < {\rm min}\{-n/p, -n/q\}}$ . In this article, we extend Triebel’s result to α < 0 and ${0 < p, q \leq \infty}$ by using a discrete version of reproducing formula and discretizing the norms in both ${\mathcal{F}^{\alpha,q}_{p}}$ and ${{\bf{\dot{F}}}^{\alpha,q}_p}$ . Furthermore, for α < 0 and ${1 < p,q \leq \infty}$ , the mapping from harmonic functions in ${\mathcal{F}^{\alpha,q}_{p}}$ to their boundary values forms a topological isomorphism between ${\mathcal{F}^{\alpha,q}_{p}}$ and ${{\bf \dot{F}}^{\alpha,q}_p}$ .  相似文献

We prove the spectral instability of the complex cubic oscillator \({-\frac{{\rm d}^{2}}{{\rm d}x^{2}} + ix^{3} + i \alpha x}\) for non-negative values of the parameter α, by getting the exponential growth rate of \({\|\Pi_{n}(\alpha)\|}\) , where \({\Pi_{n}(\alpha)}\) is the spectral projection associated with the nth eigenvalue of the operator. More precisely, we show that for all non-negative α $$\lim\limits_{n \to + \infty} \frac{1}{n} {\rm log}\|\Pi_{n}(\alpha)\| = \frac{\pi}{\sqrt{3}}$$ .  相似文献

LetL(x) denote the number of square full integers ≤x. By a square-full integer, we mean a positive integer all of whose prime factors have multiplicity at least two. It is well known that $$\left. {L(x)} \right| \sim \frac{{\zeta ({3 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {3 2}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} 2})}}{{\zeta (3)}}x^{{1 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {1 2}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} 2}} + \frac{{\zeta ({2 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {2 3}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} 3})}}{{\zeta (2)}}x^{{1 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {1 3}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} 3}} ,$$ where ζ(s) denotes the Riemann Zeta function. Let Δ(x) denote the error function in the asymptotic formula forL(x). On the basis of the Riemann hypothesis (R.H.), it is known that \(\Delta (x) = O(x^{\tfrac{{13}}{{81}} + \varepsilon } )\) for every ε>0. In this paper, we prove the following results on the assumption of R.H.: (1) $$\frac{1}{x}\int\limits_1^x {\Delta (t)dt} = O(x^{\tfrac{1}{{12}} + \varepsilon } ),$$ (2) $$\int\limits_1^x {\frac{{\Delta (t)}}{t}\log } ^{v - 1} \left( {\frac{x}{t}} \right) = O(x^{\tfrac{1}{{12}} + \varepsilon } )$$ for any integer ν≥1. In fact, we prove some general results and deduce the above from them. On the basis of (1) and (2) above, we conjecture that \(\Delta (x) = O(x^{{1 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {1 {12}}} \right. \kern-0em} {12}} + \varepsilon } )\) under the assumption of R.H.  相似文献

Let $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}} $ be the commuting variety of the Lie algebra $ \mathfrak{g} $ of a connected noncommutative reductive algebraic group G over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. Let $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}}^{{{\text{sing}}}} $ be the singular locus of $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}} $ and let $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}}^{{{\text{irr}}}} $ be the locus of points whose G-stabilizers have dimension > rk G. We prove that: (a) $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}}^{{{\text{sing}}}} $ is a nonempty subset of $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}}^{{{\text{irr}}}} $ ; (b) $ {\text{codim}}_{{\user1{\mathcal{C}}}} \,{\user1{\mathcal{C}}}^{{{\text{irr}}}} = 5 - {\text{max}}\,l{\left( \mathfrak{a} \right)} $ where the maximum is taken over all simple ideals $ \mathfrak{a} $ of $ \mathfrak{g} $ and $ l{\left( \mathfrak{a} \right)} $ is the “lacety” of $ \mathfrak{a} $ ; and (c) if $ \mathfrak{t} $ is a Cartan subalgebra of $ \mathfrak{g} $ and $ \alpha \in \mathfrak{t}^{*} $ root of $ \mathfrak{g} $ with respect to $ \mathfrak{t} $ , then $ \overline{{G{\left( {{\text{Ker}}\,\alpha \times {\text{Ker }}\alpha } \right)}}} $ is an irreducible component of $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}}^{{{\text{irr}}}} $ of codimension 4 in $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}} $ . This yields the bound $ {\text{codim}}_{{\user1{\mathcal{C}}}} \,{\user1{\mathcal{C}}}^{{{\text{sing}}}} \geqslant 5 - {\text{max}}\,l{\left( \mathfrak{a} \right)} $ and, in particular, $ {\text{codim}}_{{\user1{\mathcal{C}}}} \,{\user1{\mathcal{C}}}^{{{\text{sing}}}} \geqslant 2 $ . The latter may be regarded as an evidence in favor of the known longstanding conjecture that $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}} $ is always normal. We also prove that the algebraic variety $ {\user1{\mathcal{C}}} $ is rational.  相似文献

The following statement is proved: Theorem.Let f(x), 0≦x≦2π, possess the Fourier expansion $$\mathop \sum \limits_{\kappa = - \infty }^\infty c_\kappa e^{in} \kappa ^x with \bar c_\kappa = c_{ - \kappa } , n_\kappa = - \bar n_{ - \kappa }$$ where {n k } is a Sidon sequence. Then in order to have $$\mathop \sum \limits_{\kappa = - \infty }^\infty |c_\kappa |^p< \infty$$ for a given p, 1 $$\mathop \sum \limits_{k = 1}^\infty \left( {\frac{{\left\| f \right\|L^k (0,2\pi )}}{k}} \right)^p< \infty$$ . An analogous statement holds true for series with respect to the Rademacher system.  相似文献

In this paper we prove a refinement of this result.  相似文献

Recurrence formulas for the calculation of the modified moments $$\int\limits_{ - 1}^{ + 1} {(1 - x)^\alpha (1 + x)^\beta T_n (x)dx} $$ and $$\int\limits_{ - 1}^{ + 1} {(1 - x)^\alpha (1 + x)^\beta \ln \left( {\frac{{1 + x}}{2}} \right)T_n (x)dx} $$ are presented. Some applications of these modified moments are discussed, such as the numerical calculation of integrals of functions having branch points, the computation of Chebyshev series coefficients and the construction of Gaussian quadrature formulas for integrals with logarithmic singularity.

(1) 1 $$\left\| {\left. {\sum\limits_{k = 1}^\infty \Omega (|S_k (x) - f(x)|)} \right\|_C } \right.$$ то 1 $$\omega (f;\delta ) = O\left( {\delta \int\limits_\delta ^1 {\frac{{\bar \Omega (v)}}{{v^2 }}dv} } \right),$$ где ¯Ω(v) —функция, обратная к Ω(и).

Consider the real Clifford algebra ${\mathbb{R}_{0,n}}$ generated by e 1, e 2, . . . , e n satisfying ${e_{i}e_{j} + e_{j}e_{i} = -2\delta_{ij} , i, j = 1, 2, . . . , n, e_{0}}$ is the unit element. Let ${\Omega}$ be an open set in ${\mathbb{R}^{n+1}}$ . u(x) is called an h-regular function in ${\Omega}$ if $$D_{x}u(x) + \widehat{u}(x)h = 0, \quad\quad (0.1)$$ where ${D_x = \sum\limits_{i=0}^{n} e_{i}\partial_{xi}}$ is the Dirac operator in ${\mathbb{R}^{n+1}}$ , and ${\widehat{u}(x) = \sum \limits_{A} (-1)^{\#A}u_{A}(x)e_{A}, \#A}$ denotes the cardinality of A and ${h = \sum\limits_{k=0}^{n} h_{k}e_{k}}$ is a constant paravector. In this paper, we mainly consider the Hilbert boundary value problem (BVP) for h-regular functions in ${\mathbb{R}_{+}^{n+1}}$ .  相似文献

We consider a real reductive dual pair (G′, G) of type I, with rank ${({\rm G}^{\prime}) \leq {\rm rank(G)}}$ . Given a nilpotent coadjoint orbit ${\mathcal{O}^{\prime} \subseteq \mathfrak{g}^{{\prime}{*}}}$ , let ${\mathcal{O}^{\prime}_\mathbb{C} \subseteq \mathfrak{g}^{{\prime}{*}}_\mathbb{C}}$ denote the complex orbit containing ${\mathcal{O}^{\prime}}$ . Under some condition on the partition λ′ parametrizing ${\mathcal{O}^{\prime}}$ , we prove that, if λ is the partition obtained from λ by adding a column on the very left, and ${\mathcal{O}}$ is the nilpotent coadjoint orbit parametrized by λ, then ${\mathcal{O}_\mathbb{C}= \tau (\tau^{\prime -1}(\mathcal{O}_\mathbb{C}^{\prime}))}$ , where ${\tau, \tau^{\prime}}$ are the moment maps. Moreover, if ${chc(\hat\mu_{\mathcal{O}^{\prime}}) \neq 0}$ , where chc is the infinitesimal version of the Cauchy-Harish-Chandra integral, then the Weyl group representation attached by Wallach to ${\mu_{\mathcal{O}^{\prime}}}$ with corresponds to ${\mathcal{O}_\mathbb{C}}$ via the Springer correspondence.  相似文献

By means of Riccati transformation technique, we establish some new oscillation criteria for second-order nonlinear delay difference equation $$\Delta (p_n (\Delta x_n )^\gamma ) + q_n f(x_{n - \sigma } ) = 0,\;\;\;\;n = 0,1,2,...,$$ when $\sum\limits_{n = 0}^\infty {\left( {\frac{1}{{Pn}}} \right)^{\frac{1}{\gamma }} = \infty }$ . When $\sum\limits_{n = 0}^\infty {\left( {\frac{1}{{Pn}}} \right)^{\frac{1}{\gamma }} < \infty }$ we present some sufficient conditions which guarantee that, every solution oscillates or converges to zero. When $\sum\limits_{n = 0}^\infty {\left( {\frac{1}{{Pn}}} \right)^{\frac{1}{\gamma }} = \infty }$ holds, our results do not require the nonlinearity to be nondecreasing and are thus applicable to new classes of equations to which most previously known results are not.  相似文献

We observe that, given a poset ${\left( {E,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}} \right)}$ and a finite covering ${\user1{\mathcal{R}}} = {\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{1} \cup \cdots \cup {\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{n} $ of its ordering, the height of the poset does not exceed the natural product of the heights of the corresponding sub-relations: $$\mathfrak{h}{\left( {E,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}} \right)} \leqslant \mathfrak{h}{\left( {E,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{1} } \right)} \otimes \cdots \otimes \mathfrak{h}{\left( {E,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{n} } \right)}.$$ Conversely for every finite sequence $(\xi_1,\cdots,\xi_n)$ of ordinals, every poset ${\left( {E,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}} \right)}$ of height at most $\xi_1\otimes\cdots\otimes\xi_n$ admits a partition ${\left( {{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{1} , \cdots ,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{n} } \right)}$ of its ordering ${\user1{\mathcal{R}}}$ such that each ${\left( {E,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{k} } \right)}$ has height at most $\xi_k$ . In particular for every finite sequence $(\xi_1,\cdots,\xi_n)$ of ordinals, the ordinal $$\xi _{1} \underline{ \otimes } \cdots \underline{ \otimes } \xi _{n} : = \sup {\left\{ {{\left( {\xi ^{\prime }_{1} \otimes \cdots \otimes \xi ^{\prime }_{n} } \right)} + 1:\xi ^{\prime }_{1} < \xi _{1} , \cdots ,\xi ^{\prime }_{n} < \xi _{n} } \right\}}$$ is the least $\xi$ for which the following partition relation holds $$\mathfrak{H}_{\xi } \to {\left( {\mathfrak{H}_{{\xi _{1} }} , \cdots ,\mathfrak{H}_{{\xi _{n} }} } \right)}^{2} $$ meaning: for every poset ${\left( {A,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}} \right)}$ of height at least $\xi$ and every finite covering ${\left( {{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{1} , \cdots ,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{n} } \right)}$ of its ordering ${\user1{\mathcal{R}}}$ , there is a $k$ for which the relation ${\left( {A,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{k} } \right)}$ has height at least $\xi_k$ . The proof will rely on analogue properties of vertex coverings w.r.t. the natural sum.  相似文献

Let $I^d $ be the d‐dimensional cube, $I^d = [0,1]^d $ , and let $F \ni f \mapsto Sf \in L_\infty (I^d ) $ be a linear operator acting on the Sobolev space F, where Fis either $$$$ or $$$$ where $$\left\| f \right\|_F = \sum\limits_{\left| m \right| = r} {\mathop {{\text{esssup}}}\limits_{x \in I^d } \left| {\frac{{\partial f^{\left| m \right|} }} {{\partial x_1^{m_1 } \partial x_2^{m_2 } \cdot \cdot \cdot \partial x_d^{m_d } }}(x)} \right|.} $$ We assume that the problem elements fsatisfy the condition $\sum\nolimits_{\left| m \right| = r} {{\text{esssup}}} _{x \in I^d } \left| {f^{(m)} (x)} \right| \leqslant 1 $ and that Sis continuous with respect to the supremum norm. We study sensitivity of optimal recovery of Sfrom inexact samples of ftaken at npoints forming a uniform grid on $I^d $ . We assume that the inaccuracy in reading the sample vector is measured in the pth norm and bounded by a nonnegative number δ. The sensitivity is defined by the difference between the optimal errors corresponding to the exact and perturbed readings, respectively. Our main result is that this difference is bounded by $\mathcal{A}\delta $ , where $\mathcal{A} $ is a positive constant independent of the number of samples. This indicates that the curse of dimension, which badly affects the optimal errors, does not extend to sensitivity.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to the study of the weak norms of the classical operators in the vector-valued setting.
  1. Let S, H denote the singular integral involution operator and the Hilbert transform on $L^p \left( {\mathbb{T}, \ell _\mathbb{C}^2 } \right)$ , respectively. Then for 1 ≤ p ≤ 2 and any f, $$\left\| {\mathcal{S}f} \right\|_{p,\infty } \leqslant \left( {\frac{1} {\pi }\int_{ - \infty }^\infty {\frac{{\left| {\tfrac{2} {\pi }\log \left| t \right|} \right|^p }} {{t^2 + 1}}dt} } \right)^{ - 1/p} \left\| f \right\|p,$$ $$\left\| {\mathcal{H}f} \right\|_{p,\infty } \leqslant \left( {\frac{1} {\pi }\int_{ - \infty }^\infty {\frac{{\left| {\tfrac{2} {\pi }\log \left| t \right|} \right|^p }} {{t^2 + 1}}dt} } \right)^{ - 1/p} \left\| f \right\|p.$$ Both inequalities are sharp.
  2. Let P + and P ? stand for the Riesz projection and the co-analytic projection on $L^p \left( {\mathbb{T}, \ell _\mathbb{C}^2 } \right)$ , respectively. Then for 1 ≤ p ≤ 2 and any f, $$\left\| {P + f} \right\|_{p,\infty } \leqslant \left\| f \right\|_p ,$$ $$\left\| {P - f} \right\|_{p,\infty } \leqslant \left\| f \right\|_p .$$ Both inequalities are sharp.
  3. We establish the sharp versions of the estimates above in the nonperiodic case.
The results are new even if the operators act on complex-valued functions. The proof rests on the construction of an appropriate plurisubharmonic function and probabilistic techniques.  相似文献
