Abstract In this paper, Lefschetz formulae for torus actions on p-adic groups are proven. These are similar to comparable formulae for real Lie groups. Applications lie in the realm of dynamical zeta functions.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss a p-adic analogue of the Picard–Lefschetz formula. For a family with ordinary double points over a complete discrete valuation ring of mixed characteristic (0,p), we construct vanishing cycle modules which measure the difference between the rigid cohomology groups of the special fiber and the de Rham cohomology groups of the generic fiber. Furthermore, the monodromy operators on the de Rham cohomology groups of the generic fiber are described by the canonical generators of the vanishing cycle modules in the same way as in the case of the ℓ-adic (or classical) Picard–Lefschetz formula. For the construction and the proof, we use the logarithmic de Rham–Witt complexes and those weight filtrations investigated by Mokrane (Duke Math. J. 72(2):301–337, 1993).   相似文献

We define a class of simplicial maps — those which are “expanding directions preserving” — from a barycentric subdivision to the original simplicial complex. These maps naturally induce a self map on the links of their fixed points. The local index at a fixed point of such a map turns out to be the Lefschetz number of the induced map on the link of the fixed point in relative homology. We also show that a weakly hyperbolic [4] simplicial map sdnK →K is expanding directions preserving.  相似文献

There exists a (relatively minimal) genus Lefschetz fibration with only one singular fiber over a closed (Riemann) surface of genus iff and . The singular fiber can be chosen to be reducible or irreducible. Other results are that every Dehn twist on a closed surface of genus at least three is a product of two commutators and no Dehn twist on any closed surface is equal to a single commutator.

The goal of this paper is to generalize a theorem of Fujiwara (Deligne’s conjecture) to the situation appearing in a joint work [KV] with David Kazhdan on the global Langlands correspondence over function fields. Moreover, our proof is more elementary than the original one and stays in the realm of ordinary algebraic geometry, that is, does not use rigid geometry. We also give a proof of the Lefschetz–Verdier trace formula and of the additivity of filtered trace maps, thus making the paper essentially self-contained. In this paper, we prove a fixed point formula for flat bundles. To this end, we use cyclic cocycles which are constructed out of closed invariant currents. We show that such cyclic cocycles are equivariant with respect to isometric longitudinal actions of compact Lie groups. This enables us to prove fixed point formulae in the cyclic homology of the smooth convolution algebra of the foliation.

We prove that Lefschetz fibrations admitting a section of square cannot be decomposed as fiber sums. In particular, Lefschetz fibrations on symplectic 4-manifolds found by Donaldson are indecomposable. This observation also shows that symplectic Lefschetz fibrations are not necessarily fiber sums of holomorphic ones.

A theorem of Lambrechts and Stanley is used to find the rational cohomology of the complement of an embedding S~(4n-1)→ S~(2n)× S~m as a module and demonstrate that it is not necessarily determined by the map induced on cohomology by the embedding, nor is it a trivial extension. We address the geography problem of relatively minimal Lefschetz fibrations over surfaces of nonzero genus and prove that if the fiber-genus of the fibration is positive, then (equivalently, ) holds for those symplectic 4-manifolds. A useful characterization of minimality of such symplectic 4-manifolds is also proved.

We introduce a general technique for decomposing monomial algebras which we use to study the Lefschetz properties. In particular, we prove that Gorenstein codimension three algebras arising from numerical semigroups have the strong Lefschetz property, and we give partial results on monomial almost complete intersections. We also study the reverse of the decomposition process – a gluing operation – which gives a way to construct monomial algebras with the Lefschetz properties.  相似文献

We give a leafwise Lefschetz theorem in the localized equivariant K-theory of a compact foliated manifold. The method is a generalization of the one adopted by M.F. Atiyah and G. Segal in the nonfoliated case. The main tool is the equivariant version of the Connes–Skandalis longitudinal index theorem for foliations. As a byproduct, we obtain a generalization of the Heitsch–Lazarov measured Lefschetz formula to arbitrary complexes with the explicit formula for the integrand, when the diffeomorphism belongs to a compact Lie group acting on the compact manifold.  相似文献

Let be a smooth foliation on a closed Riemannian manifold M, and let Λ be a transverse invariant measure of . Suppose that Λ is absolutely continuous with respect to the Lebesgue measure on smooth transversals. Then a topological definition of the Λ-Lefschetz number of any leaf preserving diffeomorphism is given. For this purpose, standard results about smooth approximation and transversality are extended to the case of foliation maps. It is asked whether this topological Λ-Lefschetz number is equal to the analytic Λ-Lefschetz number defined by Heitsch and Lazarov, which would be a version of the Lefschetz trace formula. We construct noncomplex smooth 4-manifolds which admit genus-2 Lefschetz fibrations over . The fibrations are necessarily hyperelliptic, and the resulting 4-manifolds are not even homotopy equivalent to complex surfaces. Furthermore, these examples show that fiber sums of holomorphic Lefschetz fibrations do not necessarily admit complex structures.
