The effect of a constant electric field on plasma waves in a two-dimensional electronic gas in a system with periodic potential is investigated. A dispersion relation ω(k) is obtained using the high temperature approach. The main and resonant modes of plasma waves are investigated numerically. Regions of one-particle and collective excitations are identified. Calculations are performed on the basis of the plasma wave quantum theory in a random-phase approximation with allowance for the Umklapp processes.  相似文献

The variation of the shape of a drop immersed in an immiscible liquid under the action of an electric field is calculated. The charge is transferred both by ohmic current through the interface and by the convective component over the interface. A solution quadratic in the parameter that is the ratio of the electric pressure to the capillary pressure is analyzed. Conditions where the drop transforms into a spheroid that is prolate or oblate along the electric field vector are found. An experimental study of the drop deformation by electric forces is carried out.  相似文献

We extend the analysis of Paper I from two body dilation analytic systems in constant electric field toN-body systems in constant electric field. Particular attention is paid to what happens to isolated eigenvalues of an atomic or molecular system in zero field when the field is turned on. We prove that the corresponding eigenvalue of the complex scaled Hamiltonian is stable and becomes a resonance. The probability of 5s-3d, 5s-3p, 5p-3s, 5d-3s, 4d-3p, and 4f-3p transitions of Ne I in an electric field is calculated. It is shown that the probability of the permitted transitions 5s-3p and 5p-3s is unchanged with increase in the field from 0 to 50 kV/cm, while the probability of the forbidden transitions 5s-3d and 5d-3s is very small. In the given range of field strengths, the probability of permitted 4d-3p transitions markedly falls and intense forbidden 4f-3p transitions appear. The problem of the shift and broadening of the electron energy levels in the field of two 3D short-range potentials (e.g., the model of a negative molecular ion) by a constant electric field F is considered. The interaction of an electron with attraction centers is taken into account in the effective range approximation. We analyze the cases when both centers maintain weakly bound s states and when the electron state in the field of one of the centers is a p state. Exact numerical results for the shift and the width of the energy levels of a quasi-molecule as functions of field F, distance R between atomic centers, and the orientation of the quasi-molecule axis relative to vector F are presented, as well as the results of analytic treatment for a number of limiting cases. The exact values of complex energies of the quasi-molecule are compared with analytic results for a weak field in the case of identical s centers [26], as well as nonequivalent s centers and s-p centers; the applicability boundaries of the weak field approximation are established. It is shown that for large values of R, the position and width of the levels in a strong field are correctly described in perturbation theory in the exchange interaction. We analyze the field-induced quasi-intersection of molecular energy levels of the system with nonequivalent atomic centers and peculiarities in the energy level widths associated with this intersection. The results make it possible to qualitatively interpret the results of numerical calculations of the probability of homo- and heteronuclear molecules being ionized by a low-frequency laser field.  相似文献

The wave functions of stationary states and the spectrum of two-electron system are analytically determined in a symmetric double quantum dot. It is shown that in the ground state when the external electric field is absent, electrons cannot reside in the same quantum dot due to the Coulomb blockade. This situation changes in an external electric field. At a critical field strength, the probability of finding both electrons in the same quantum dot jumpwise increases from zero to unity.  相似文献

The in- and out-regions in the Minkowski space are deter-mined, and the complete sets of in- and out boost modes describing particles and antiparticles are constructed. The effect of a transverse dc electric field on two-wave mutual rectification in a graphene superlattice (GSL) is investigated. Two field orientations are considered: (i) the polarization plane is parallel to the GSL axis and (ii) the polarization plane is perpendicular to the GSL axis. In both cases, the constant field is perpendicular to the polarization plane. The current density is calculated within a one-miniband model using the Boltzmann equation in the approximation of constant relaxation time.  相似文献
