In this paper, we explore the question of which non-linear inverse problems, which are solved by a selected regularization method, may have so-called linear a priori accuracy estimates – that is, the accuracy of corresponding approximate solutions linearly depends on the error level of the data. In particular, we prove that if such a linear estimate exists, then the inverse problem under consideration is well posed, according to Tikhonov. For linear inverse problems, we find that the existence of linear estimates lead to, under some assumptions, the well-posedness (according to Tikhonov) on the whole space of solutions. Moreover, we consider a method for solving inverse problems with guaranteed linear estimates, called the residual method on the correctness set (RMCS). The linear a priori estimates of absolute and relative accuracy for the RMCS are presented, as well as analogous a posteriori estimates. A numerical illustration of obtaining linear a priori estimates for appropriate parametric sets of solutions using RMCS is given in comparison with Tikhonov regularization. The a posteriori estimates are calculated on these parametric sets as well.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate a problem of the identification of an unknown source on Poisson equation from some fixed location. A conditional stability estimate for an inverse heat source problem is proved. We show that such a problem is mildly ill‐posed and further present two Tikhonov‐type regularization methods (a generalized Tikhonov regularization method and a simplified generalized Tikhonov regularization method) to deal with this problem. Convergence estimates are presented under the a priori choice of the regularization parameter. Numerical results are presented to illustrate the accuracy and efficiency of our methods. We consider Tikhonov regularization of control-constrained optimal control problems. We present new a-priori estimates for the regularization error assuming measure and source-measure conditions. In the special case of bang–bang solutions, we introduce another assumption to obtain the same convergence rates. This new condition turns out to be useful in the derivation of error estimates for the discretized problem. The necessity of the just mentioned assumptions to obtain certain convergence rates is analyzed. Finally, a numerical example confirms the analytical findings.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider large-scale linear discrete ill-posed problems where the right-hand side contains noise. Regularization techniques such as Tikhonov regularization are needed to control the effect of the noise on the solution. In many applications such as in image restoration the coefficient matrix is given as a Kronecker product of two matrices and then Tikhonov regularization problem leads to the generalized Sylvester matrix equation. For large-scale problems, we use the global-GMRES method which is an orthogonal projection method onto a matrix Krylov subspace. We present some theoretical results and give numerical tests in image restoration.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the inverse problem for identifying the source term and initial value simultaneously in a space-fractional Allen-Cahn equation. This problem is ill-posed, i.e., the solution of this problem does not depend continuously on the data. The fractional Tikhonov method is used to solve this problem. Under the a priori and the a posteriori regularization parameter choice rules, the error estimates between the regularization solutions and the exact solutions are obtained, respectively. Different numerical examples are presented to illustrate the validity and effectiveness of our method.  相似文献

This work is concerned with identifying a space-dependent source function from noisy final time measured data in a time-fractional diffusion wave equation by a variational regularization approach. We provide a regularity of direct problem as well as the existence and uniqueness of adjoint problem. The uniqueness of the inverse source problem is discussed. Using the Tikhonov regularization method, the inverse source problem is formulated into a variational problem and a conjugate gradient algorithm is proposed to solve it. The efficiency and robust of the proposed method are supported by some numerical experiments.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate a Cauchy problem associated with Helmholtz-type equation in an infinite “strip”. This problem is well known to be severely ill-posed. The optimal error bound for the problem with only nonhomogeneous Neumann data is deduced, which is independent of the selected regularization methods. A framework of a modified Tikhonov regularization in conjunction with the Morozov’s discrepancy principle is proposed, it may be useful to the other linear ill-posed problems and helpful for the other regularization methods. Some sharp error estimates between the exact solutions and their regularization approximation are given. Numerical tests are also provided to show that the modified Tikhonov method works well.  相似文献

The computation of an approximate solution of linear discrete ill-posed problems with contaminated data is delicate due to the possibility of severe error propagation. Tikhonov regularization seeks to reduce the sensitivity of the computed solution to errors in the data by replacing the given ill-posed problem by a nearby problem, whose solution is less sensitive to perturbation. This regularization method requires that a suitable value of the regularization parameter be chosen. Recently, Brezinski et al. (Numer Algorithms 49, 2008) described new approaches to estimate the error in approximate solutions of linear systems of equations and applied these estimates to determine a suitable value of the regularization parameter in Tikhonov regularization when the approximate solution is computed with the aid of the singular value decomposition. This paper discusses applications of these and related error estimates to the solution of large-scale ill-posed problems when approximate solutions are computed by Tikhonov regularization based on partial Lanczos bidiagonalization of the matrix. The connection between partial Lanczos bidiagonalization and Gauss quadrature is utilized to determine inexpensive bounds for a family of error estimates. In memory of Gene H. Golub. A common way to handle the Tikhonov regularization method for the first kind Fredholm integral equations, is first to discretize and then to work with the final linear system. This unavoidably inflicts discretization errors which may lead to disastrous results, especially when a quadrature rule is used. We propose to regularize directly the integral equation resulting in a continuous Tikhonov problem. The Tikhonov problem is reduced to a simple least squares problem by applying the Golub-Kahan bidiagonalization (GKB) directly to the integral operator. The regularization parameter and the iteration index are determined by the discrepancy principle approach. Moreover, we study the discrete version of the proposed method resulted from numerical evaluating the needed integrals. Focusing on the nodal values of the solution results in a weighted version of GKB-Tikhonov method for linear systems arisen from the Nyström discretization. Finally, we use numerical experiments on a few test problems to illustrate the performance of our algorithms.  相似文献

We construct with the aid of regularizing filters a new class of improved regularization methods, called modified Tikhonov regularization (MTR), for solving ill-posed linear operator equations. Regularizing properties and asymptotic order of the regularized solutions are analyzed in the presence of noisy data and perturbation error in the operator. With some accurate estimates in the solution errors, optimal convergence order of the regularized solutions is obtained by a priori choice of the regularization parameter. Furthermore, numerical results are given for several ill-posed integral equations, which not only roughly coincide with the theoretical results but also show that MTR can be more accurate than ordinary Tikhonov regularization (OTR).  相似文献

The numerical solution of linear discrete ill-posed problems typically requires regularization, i.e., replacement of the available ill-conditioned problem by a nearby better conditioned one. The most popular regularization methods for problems of small to moderate size, which allow evaluation of the singular value decomposition of the matrix defining the problem, are the truncated singular value decomposition and Tikhonov regularization. The present paper proposes a novel choice of regularization matrix for Tikhonov regularization that bridges the gap between Tikhonov regularization and truncated singular value decomposition. Computed examples illustrate the benefit of the proposed method.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a fractional Tikhonov regularization method (FTRM) for solving a Cauchy problem of Helmholtz equation in the frequency domain. On the one hand, the FTRM retains the advantage of classical Tikhonov method. On the other hand, our method can prevent the effect of oversmoothing of classical Tikhonov method and conveniently control the amount of damping. The convergence error estimates between the exact solution and its regularization approximation are constructed. Several interesting numerical examples are provided, which validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.  相似文献

In this paper, we study an inverse problem of identifying a time-dependent term of an unknown source for a time fractional diffusion equation using nonlocal measurement data. Firstly, we establish the conditional stability for this inverse problem. Then two regularization methods are proposed to for reconstructing the time-dependent source term from noisy measurements. The first method is an integral equation method which formulates the inverse source problem into an integral equation of the second kind; and a prior convergence rate of regularized solutions is derived with a suitable choice strategy of regularization parameters. The second method is a standard Tikhonov regularization method and formulates the inverse source problem as a minimizing problem of the Tikhonov functional. Based on the superposition principle and the technique of finite-element interpolation, a numerical scheme is proposed to implement the second regularization method. One- and two-dimensional examples are carried out to verify efficiency and stability of the second regularization method.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to solve a backward problem for a time-fractional diffusion equation with variable coefficients in a general bounded domain by the Tikhonov regularization method. Based on the eigenfunction expansion of the solution, the backward problem for searching the initial data is changed to solve a Fredholm integral equation of the first kind. The conditional stability for the backward problem is obtained. We use the Tikhonov regularization method to deal with the integral equation and obtain the series expression of solution. Furthermore, the convergence rates for the Tikhonov regularized solution can be proved by using an a priori regularization parameter choice rule and an a posteriori regularization parameter choice rule. Two numerical examples in one-dimensional and two-dimensional cases respectively are investigated. Numerical results show that the proposed method is effective and stable.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss several (old and new) estimates for the norm of the error in the solution of systems of linear equations, and we study their properties. Then, these estimates are used for approximating the optimal value of the regularization parameter in Tikhonov’s method for ill-conditioned systems. They are also used as a stopping criterion in iterative methods, such as the conjugate gradient algorithm, which have a regularizing effect. Several numerical experiments and comparisons with other procedures show the effectiveness of our estimates.  相似文献

We consider numerical methods for solving inverse problems that arise in heart electrophysiology. The first inverse problem is the Cauchy problem for the Laplace equation. Its solution algorithm is based on the Tikhonov regularization method and the method of boundary integral equations. The second inverse problem is the problem of finding the discontinuity surface of the coefficient of conductivity of a medium on the basis of the potential and its normal derivative given on the exterior surface. For its numerical solution, we suggest a method based on the method of boundary integral equations and the assumption on a special representation of the unknown surface.  相似文献

We extend the Tikhonov regularization method widely used in optimization and monotone variational inequality studies to equilibrium problems. It is shown that the convergence results obtained from the monotone variational inequality remain valid for the monotone equilibrium problem. For pseudomonotone equilibrium problems, the Tikhonov regularized subproblems have a unique solution only in the limit, but any Tikhonov trajectory tends to the solution of the original problem, which is the unique solution of the strongly monotone equilibrium problem defined on the basis of the regularization bifunction.  相似文献

Least squares problems arise frequently in many disciplines such as image restorations. In these areas, for the given least squares problem, usually the coefficient matrix is ill-conditioned. Thus if the problem data are available with certain error, then after solving least squares problem with classical approaches we might end up with a meaningless solution. Tikhonov regularization, is one of the most widely used approaches to deal with such situations. In this paper, first we briefly describe these approaches, then the robust optimization framework which includes the errors in problem data is presented. Finally, our computational experiments on several ill-conditioned standard test problems using the regularization tools, a Matlab package for least squares problem, and the robust optimization framework, show that the latter approach may be the right choice.  相似文献
