A general diffusive predator–prey model is investigated in this paper. We prove the global attractivity of constant equilibria when the conversion rate is small, and the non-existence of non-constant positive steady states when the conversion rate is large. The results are applied to several predator–prey models and give some ranges of parameters where complex pattern formation cannot occur.  相似文献

In this paper, by linking Fokker–Planck equations with stochastic coupled systems, a new method is provided to investigate the existence of a stationary distribution of stochastic coupled systems. Based on the graph theory and the Lyapunov method, an appropriate Lyapunov function associated with stationary Fokker–Planck equations is constructed. Moreover, a Lyapunov-type theorem and a coefficients-type criterion are obtained to guarantee the existence of a stationary distribution. Furthermore, theoretical results are applied to explore the existence of a stationary distribution of stochastic predator–prey models with dispersal and a sufficient criterion is presented correspondingly. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of our results.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the construction and to the identification of a probabilistic model of random fields in the presence of modeling errors, in high stochastic dimension and presented in the context of computational structural dynamics. Due to the high stochastic dimension of the random quantities which have to be identified using statistical inverse methods (challenging problem), a complete methodology is proposed and validated. The parametric–nonparametric (generalized) probabilistic approach of uncertainties is used to perform the prior stochastic models: (1) system-parameters uncertainties induced by the variabilities of the material properties are described by random fields for which their statistical reductions are still in high stochastic dimension and (2) model uncertainties induced by the modeling errors are taken into account with the nonparametric probabilistic approach in high stochastic dimension. For these two sources of uncertainties, the methodology consists in introducing prior stochastic models described with a small number of parameters which are simultaneously identified using the maximum likelihood method and experimental responses. The steps of the methodology are explained and illustrated through an application.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a methodology to pursue the uncertainty quantification of the stochastic process that represents the crack growth problem. The main idea of this methodology is to discretize the crack growth process in a sequence of random variables and then, approximate each of them using a stochastic polynomial approach. This methodology is non-intrusive, i.e. it is based on the representation of random variables using stochastic polynomials, whose coefficients are evaluated using a least squares method and only a few realizations of the stochastic process. The Paris–Erdogan law was used as crack growth model in order to focus the reader's attention on the uncertainty quantification methodology. We modeled the parameters of the Paris–Erdogan law as random variables, i.e. the initial crack length and the coefficients of the Paris–Erdogan model are treated as random variables. Two numerical examples are presented in order to shown the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed methodology. From the results of these examples, it is shown that the proposed methodology is able to successfully approximate the stochastic process that represents the crack growth for the Paris–Erdogan model, with a much lower computational cost than the MCS. The main limitation of the proposed approach is that, in the form it was presented, it is not able to handle random processes as input parameters.  相似文献

We investigate the effects of diffusion on the spatial dynamics of a predator–prey model with hyperbolic mortality in predator population. More precisely, we aim to study the formation of some elementary two-dimensional patterns such as hexagonal spots and stripe patterns. Based on the linear stability analysis, we first identify the region of parameters in which Turing instability occurs. When control parameter is in the Turing space, we analyse the existence of stable patterns for the excited model by the amplitude equations. Then, for control parameter away from the Turing space, we numerically investigate the initial value-controlled patterns. Our results will enrich the pattern dynamics in predator–prey models and provide a deep insight into the dynamics of predator–prey interactions.  相似文献

In this paper, a predator–prey model with disease in the prey is considered. Assume that the predator eats only the infected prey, and the incidence rate is nonlinear. We study the dynamics of the model in terms of local analysis of equilibria and bifurcation analysis of a boundary equilibrium and a positive equilibrium. We discuss the Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation near the boundary equilibrium and the Hopf bifurcation near the positive equilibrium; numerical simulation results are given to support the theoretical predictions.  相似文献

In this paper, a stochastic avian–human influenza epidemic model with logistic growth for avian population is investigated. This model describes the transmission of avian influenza among avian population and human population in random environments. The dynamical behavior of this model is discussed. Firstly, the existence and uniqueness of the global positive solution are obtained. Then persistence in the mean and extinction of the infected avian population is studied. Furthermore, sufficient conditions for the existence of an ergodic stationary distribution of stochastic avian–human influenza model are obtained. We find a threshold of this stochastic model which determines the outcome of the disease in case the white noises are small. Results show that environmental white noise is helpful for disease control. Finally, numerical simulations validate the analytical results.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate a free boundary problem for the classical Lotka–Volterra type predator–prey model with double free boundaries in one space dimension. This system models the expanding of an invasive or new predator species in which the free boundaries represent expanding fronts of the predator species and are described by Stefan-like condition. We prove a spreading–vanishing dichotomy for this model, namely the predator species either successfully spreads to infinity as \(t\rightarrow \infty \) at both fronts and survives in the new environment, or it spreads within a bounded area and dies out in the long run while the prey species stabilizes at a positive equilibrium state. The long time behavior of solution and criteria for spreading and vanishing are also obtained.  相似文献

In this paper, the aeroelastic problems of slender vehicles under the influence of random factors and thrust are studied. An aeroelastic dynamic model of a free-free Euler–Bernoulli beam considering thrust and aerodynamic forces is established based on Hamilton’s principle of nonconservative systems. On this basis, considering the influence of random factors, the elastic modulus and viscous drag are regarded as one-dimensional continuous stationary random fields and discretized. The stochastic finite element method is used to solve the dynamic model, and the results are compared with the Monte Carlo simulation results. Then, the influence of the correlation of the random field on the elastic displacement is further analyzed. The following simulation results are obtained: (1) the stochastic factor analysis model established in this paper can reflect the statistical characteristics of aeroelastic response well; (2) the stronger the correlation of the random field is, the greater the expectation of elastic displacement, but as the correlation increases, the expectation tends to be constant; and (3) it is necessary to choose the discrete length of the random field reasonably, and the discrete length depends on the correlation characteristics of the random field studied.  相似文献

The interaction of a tire with a soft terrain has multiple sources of uncertainties such as the mechanical properties of the terrain, and the interfacial properties between the tire and the terrain. These uncertainties are best characterized using statistical methods such as the development of stochastic models of tire–soil interaction. The quality of the models can be assessed via statistical validation measures or metrics. Although validation of stochastic tire–soil interaction models has recently been reported with good results, it involves longitudinal slip only without considering lateral slip which can occur simultaneously with longitudinal motion. This paper presents results of the validation of a simple stochastic tire–soil interaction model for the more complicated case of combined slip. The statistical methods used for validation include the development of a Gaussian process metamodel, the calibration of model parameters using the approach of the maximum likelihood estimate in conjunction with new test data. The validation of the calibrated model, when compared with test data, is obtained using four validation metrics with good results.  相似文献

The predator–prey system has received much attention in the field of ecology and evolution. The interaction and competition between populations in nature can be described by the predator–prey system. Under large-amplitude fluctuations caused by harsh environmental conditions, the dormant progeny has been found as an effective strategy to prevent extinction. In this review paper, recent developments of dormancy in predator–prey systems are reviewed. The significant impacts of dormancy on the competition and evolution in predator–prey systems are then discussed through different models. The connections between dormancy in predator–prey systems and the game-theoretic Parrondo’s paradox are also discussed: the dormitive predator with inferior traits can outcompete the perennially active predator by switching between two losing strategies. Future outlook about the dormancy research in predator–prey systems is also discussed.

Many engineering materials exhibit fluctuations and uncertainties on their macroscopic mechanical properties. This randomness results from random fluctuations observed at a lower scale, especially at the meso-scale where microstructural uncertainties generally occur. In the present paper, we first propose a complete theoretical stochastic framework (that is, a relevant probabilistic model as well as a non-intrusive stochastic solver) in which the volume fraction at the microscale is modelled as a random field whose statistical reduction is performed using a Karhunen–Loeve expansion. Then, an experimental procedure dedicated to the identification of the parameters involved in the probabilistic model is presented and relies on a non-destructive ultrasonic method. The combination of the experimental results with a micromechanical analysis provides realizations of the volume fraction random field. In particular, it is shown that the volume fraction can be modelled by a homogeneous random field whose spatial correlation lengths are determined and may provide conditions on the size of the meso-volumes to be considered.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate nonlinear dynamical responses of two-degree-of-freedom airfoil (TDOFA) models driven by harmonic excitation under uncertain disturbance. Firstly, based on the deterministic airfoil models under the harmonic excitation, we introduce stochastic TDOFA models with the uncertain disturbance as Gaussian white noise. Subsequently, we consider the amplitude–frequency characteristic of deterministic airfoil models by the averaging method, and also the stochastic averaging method is applied to obtain the mean-square response of given stochastic TDOFA systems analytically. Then, we carry out numerical simulations to verify the effectiveness of the obtained analytic solution and the influence of harmonic force on the system response is studied. Finally, stochastic jump and bifurcation can be found through the random responses of system, and probability density function and time history diagrams can be obtained via Monte Carlo simulations directly to observe the stochastic jump and bifurcation. The results show that noise can induce the occurrence of stochastic jump and bifurcation, which will have a significant impact on the safety of aircraft.  相似文献

This paper aims to investigate dynamic responses of stochastic Duffing oscillator with fractional-order damping term, where random excitation is modeled as a harmonic function with random phase. Combining with Lindstedt–Poincaré (L–P) method and the multiple-scale approach, we propose a new technique to theoretically derive the second-order approximate solution of the stochastic fractional Duffing oscillator. Later, the frequency–amplitude response equation in deterministic case and the first- and second-order steady-state moments for the steady state in stochastic case are presented analytically. We also carry out numerical simulations to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method with good agreement. Stochastic jump and bifurcation can be found in the figures of random responses, and then we apply Monte Carlo simulations directly to obtain the probability density functions and time response diagrams to find the stochastic jump and bifurcation. The results intuitively show that the intensity of the noise can lead to stochastic jump and bifurcation.  相似文献

A computationally efficient approach that solves for the spatial covariance matrix along the dense particle ensemble-averaged trajectory has been successfully applied to describe turbulent dispersion in swirling flows. The procedure to solve for the spatial covariance matrix is based on turbulence isotropy assumption, and it is analogous to Taylor's approach for turbulent dispersion. Unlike stochastic dispersion models, this approach does not involve computing a large number of individual particle trajectories in order to adequately represent the particle phase; a few representative particle ensembles are sufficient to describe turbulent dispersion. The particle Lagrangian properties required in this method are based on a previous study (Shirolkar and McQuay, 1998). The fluid phase information available from practical turbulence models is sufficient to estimate the time and length scales in the model. In this study, two different turbulence models are used to solve for the fluid phase – the standard kε model, and a multiple-time-scale (MTS) model. The models developed here are evaluated with the experiments of Sommerfeld and Qiu (1991). A direct comparison between the dispersion model developed in this study and a stochastic dispersion model based on the eddy lifetime concept is also provided. Estimates for the Reynolds stresses required in the stochastic model are obtained from a set of second-order algebraic relations. The results presented in the study demonstrate the computational efficiency of the present dispersion modeling approach. The results also show that the MTS model provides improved single-phase results in comparison to the kε model. The particle statistics, which are computed based on the fundamentals of the present approach, compare favorably with the experimental data. Furthermore, these statistics closely compare to those obtained using a stochastic dispersion model. Finally, the results indicate that the particle predictions are relatively unaffected by whether the Reynolds stresses are based on algebraic relations or on the turbulence isotropy assumption.  相似文献

The dispersion of solid particles in a turbulent liquid flow impinging on a centrebody through an axisymmetric sudden expansion was investigated numerically using a Eulerian–Lagrangian model. Detailed experimental measurements at the inlet were used to specify the inlet conditions for two-phase flow computations. The anisotropy of liquid turbulence was accounted for using a second-moment Reynold stress transport model. A recently developed stochastic–probabilistic model was used to enhance the computational efficiency of Lagrangian trajectory computations. Numerical results of the stochastic–probabilistic model using 650 particle trajectories were compared with those of the conventional stochastic discrete-delta-function model using 18 000 particle trajectories. In addition, results of the two models were compared with experimental measurements. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This paper describes a rigorous a posteriori error analysis for the stochastic solution of non-linear uncertain chemical models. The dual-based a posteriori stochastic error analysis extends the methodology developed in the deterministic finite elements context to stochastic discretization frameworks. It requires the resolution of two additional (dual) problems to yield the local error estimate. The stochastic error estimate can then be used to adapt the stochastic discretization. Different anisotropic refinement strategies are proposed, leading to a cost-efficient tool suitable for multi-dimensional problems of moderate stochastic dimension. The adaptive strategies allow both for refinement and coarsening of the stochastic discretization, as needed to satisfy a prescribed error tolerance. The adaptive strategies were successfully tested on a model for the hydrogen oxidation in supercritical conditions having 8 random parameters. The proposed methodologies are however general enough to be also applicable for a wide class of models such as uncertain fluid flows.  相似文献

In this paper, a class of random vibro-impact systems is studied. For this class of random systems, the general discrete-time model of systems described by mean of impact Poincarè map have been derived. Two engineering examples: a marine engine resiliently mounted under shock excitation and a stochastic rattling system have been investigated. The calculated results show that those models can reveal complex nonlinear behaviors. The bifurcation diagrams exhibit the routes to random chaos.  相似文献

In the analysis of materials with random heterogeneous microstructure the assumption is often made that material behavior can be represented by homogenized or effective properties. While this assumption yields accurate results for the bulk behavior of composite materials, it ignores the effects of the random microstructure. The spatial variations in these microstructures can focus, initiate and propagate localized non-linear behavior, subsequent damage and failure. In previous work a computational method, moving window micromechanics (MW), was used to capture microstructural detail and characterize the variability of the local and global elastic response. Digital images of material microstructure described the microstructure and a local micromechanical analysis was used to generate spatially varying material property fields. The strengths of this approach are that the material property fields can be consistently developed from digital images of real microstructures, they are easy to import into finite element models (FE) using regular grids, and their statistical characterizations can provide the basis for simulations further characterizing stochastic response. In this work, the moving window micromechanics technique was used to generate material property fields characterizing the non-linear behavior of random materials under plastic yielding; specifically yield stress and hardening slope, post yield. The complete set of material property fields were input into FE models of uniaxial loading. Global stress strain curves from the FE–MW model were compared to a more traditional micromechanics model, the generalized method of cells. Local plastic strain and local stress fields were produced which correlate well to the microstructure. The FE–MW method qualitatively captures the inelastic behavior, based on a non-linear flow rule, of the sample continuous fiber composites in transverse uniaxial loading.  相似文献
