In this paper, three n-rectangle nonconforming elements are proposed with n ≥ 3. They are the extensions of well-known Morley element, Adini element and Bogner-Fox-Schmit element in two spatial dimensions to any higher dimensions respectively. Under two hypotheses of nonconforming finite elements of fourth order elliptic problems,we present a side-patchwise projection based error analysis method(SPP-BEAM for short).Such a method is able to avoid both the regularity condition of exact solutions in the classical error analysis method and the complicated bubble function technique in the recent medius error analysis method.In addition,it is universal enough to admit generalizations.Then,we propose a sufficient condition for these hypotheses by imposing a set of in some sense necessary degrees of freedom of the shape function spaces.As an application,we use the theory to design a P3 second order triangular H2 non-conforming element by enriching two P4 bubble functions and,another P4 second order triangular H2 nonconforming finite element,and a P3 second order tetrahedral H2 non-conforming element by enriching eight P4 bubble functions,adding some more degrees of freedom. 相似文献

In this paper, the well-known nonconforming Morley element for biharmonic equations in two spatial dimensions is extended
to any higher dimensions in a canonical fashion. The general n-dimensional Morley element consists of all quadratic polynomials defined on each n-simplex with degrees of freedom given by the integral average of the normal derivative on each (n-1)-subsimplex and the integral average of the function value on each (n-2)-subsimplex. Explicit expressions of nodal basis functions are also obtained for this element on general n-simplicial grids. Convergence analysis is given for this element when it is applied as a nonconforming finite element discretization
for the biharmonic equation.

This method is based on the mortar-type Adini nonconforming finite element spaces. The coefficients for a nine–point high–order accuracy discretization scheme for a biharmonic equation ∇ 4u = f(x, y) (∇2 is the two–dimensional Laplacian operator) are derived. The biharmonic problem is defined on a rectangular domain with two types of boundary conditions: (1) u and ∂2u/∂n2 or (2) u and ∂u/part;n (where ∂/part;n is the normal to the boundary derivative) are specified at the boundary. For both considered cases, the truncation error for the suggested scheme is of the sixth-order O(h6) on a square mesh (hx = hy = h) and of the fourth-order O(h4xh2xh2y h4y) on an unequally spaced mesh. The biharmonic equation describes the deflection of loaded plates. The advantage of the suggested scheme is demonstrated for solving problems of the deflection of rectangular plates for cases of different boundary conditions: (1) a simply supported plate and (2) a plate with built-in edges. 在网格随时间变动的有限元空间上研究了不可压缩的两相渗流驱动问题.分别对饱和度方程扩散矩阵正定和半正定的情形,提出了基于网格变动的迎风混合元方法混合元逼进压力方程,饱和度方程的对流项采用迎风格式来处理,扩散项则采用推广的混合元来逼进.在网格任意变动的情形下得到几乎最优的误差估计;对正定问题的格式进行改进,即在两个网格之间投影变化时采取近似解的线性构造,可以得到与固定网格时相同的最优收敛阶. 相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to verify that the computational scheme from [Heid et al., Gradient flow finite element discretizations with energy-based adaptivity for the Gross--Pitaevskii equation, J. Comput. Phys. 436(2021)] for the numerical approximation of the ground state of the Gross--Pitaevskii equation can equally be applied for the effective approximation of excited states of Schrödinger's equation. That procedure employs an adaptive interplay of a Sobolev gradient flow iteration and a novel local mesh refinement strategy, and yields a guaranteed energy decay in each step of the algorithm. The computational tests in the present work highlight that this strategy is indeed able to approximate excited states, with (almost) optimal convergence rate with respect to the number of degrees of freedom. 相似文献

In this paper, we propose adaptive finite element methods with error control for solving elasticity problems with discontinuous coefficients. The meshes in the methods do not need to fit the interfaces. We establish a residual-based a posteriori error estimate which is $λ$-independent multiplicative constants; the Lamé constant $λ$ steers the incompressibility. The error estimators are then implemented and tested with promising numerical results which will show the competitive behavior of the adaptive algorithm. 相似文献

Two-phase miscible flow in porous media is governed by a system of nonlinear partial differential equations. In this paper, the upwind-mixed method on dynamically changing meshes is presented for the problem in two dimensions. The pressure is approximated by a mixed finite element method and the concentration by a method which upwinds the convection and incorporates diffusion using an expanded mixed finite element method. The method developed is shown to obtain almost optimal rate error estimate. When the method is modified we can obtain the optimal rate error estimate that is well known for static meshes. The modification of the scheme is the construction of a linear approximation to the solution, which is used in projecting the solution from one mesh to another. Based on the Uzawa algorithm, we consider an adaptive finite element method for the Stokes system. We prove linear convergence with optimal algebraic rates for the residual estimator (which is equivalent to the total error), if the arising linear systems are solved iteratively, e.g. , by PCG. Our analysis avoids the use of discrete efficiency of the estimator. In this paper, we present a computational method for solving 2D and 3D Poisson equations and biharmonic equations which based on the use of Haar wavelets. The highest derivative appearing in the differential equation is expanded into the Haar series, this approximation is integrated while the boundary conditions are incorporated by using integration constants. In 2D the first transform the spectral coefficients into the nodal variable values and then use Kronecker products to construct the approximations for derivatives over a tensor product grid of the horizontal and vertical blocks.
