We consider an American put option, under the Black–Scholes model. This corresponds to a moving boundary problem for a PDE. We convert the problem to a nonlinear integral equation for the moving boundary, which corresponds to the optimal exercise of the option. We use singular perturbation methods to compute the moving boundary, as well as the full solution to the PDE, in various asymptotic limits. We consider times close to the expiration date, as well as systems where the interest rate is large or small, relative to the volatility of the asset for which the option is sold.  相似文献

In this paper, using the singularly perturbed theory and the boundary layer corrective method, the asymptotic behavior of solution for a class of strongly nonlinear non-autonomous equations and the infection for asymptotic behavior of the solution with regard to the boundary condition are studied. A nonlinear diffusive equation with moving boundaries is analyzed by constructing the corresponding Dirichlet‐to‐Neumann map. In particular, the Dirichlet boundary value and the initial condition are used to derive the unknown Neumann boundary value. Then, a contraction‐mapping technique is used to prove existence and uniqueness of the solution for small times.  相似文献

In this paper we provide sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions to multipoint boundary value problems for nonlinear ordinary differential equations. We consider the case where the solution space of the associated linear homogeneous boundary value problem is less than 2. When this solution space is trivial, we establish existence results via the Schauder Fixed Point Theorem. In the resonance case, we use a projection scheme to provide criteria for the solvability of our nonlinear boundary value problem. We accomplish this by analyzing a link between the behavior of the nonlinearity and the solution set of the associated linear homogeneous boundary value problem.  相似文献

The unsteady flow of viscous incompressible shear-thinning non-Newtonian fluid with mixed boundary is investigated. The boundary condition on the outflow is the modified natural boundary condition, it contains the additional nonlinear term, which enables us to control the kinetic energy of the backward flow. The global existence of weak solution is proved. The fictitious domain method which consists in filling the moving rigid screws with the surrounding fluid and taking into account the boundary conditions on these bodies by introducing a well-chosen distribution of boundary forces is used.  相似文献

The paper deals with a dynamical nonlinear model describing the self-driven delamination of compressed thin films. Some assumptions on the buckled shape allow us to describe the moving boundary of the film by a single Hamilton-Jacobi equation. A rigorous mathematical analysis is given for a boundary layer problem for a third-order nonlinear ordinary differential equation, which arises in gravity-driven laminar film flow of power-law fluids along vertical walls. Firstly, the problem is transformed into a singular nonlinear two-point boundary value problem of second order. Next, the latter is proved to have a unique positive solution, for which some estimates are established. Finally, the result above-mentioned is turned over to the original problem. The conclusion of this paper is that the boundary layer problem has a unique normal solution if the power-law index is less than or equal to one and a generalized normal solution if the power-law index is greater than one. Also the asymptotic behavior of the normal solution at the infinity is displayed.The work was supported by NNSF of China.  相似文献
