We report the analysis status of single π0electroproduction in the resonance region to study the electromagnetic excitation of the nucleon resonances. The study is aimed at understanding of the internal structure and dynamics of the nucleon. The experiment was performed using an unpolarized cryogenic hydrogen target and 2.0 and 5.8 GeV polarized electron beam during the ele and e1-6 run periods with CLAS at Jefferson Lab. The new measurements will produce a data base with high statistics and large kinematic coverage for the hadronic invariant mass (W) up to 2.0 CeV in the momentum transfer (Q2) range of 0.3--6.0 GeV2. Preliminary results will be presented and compared with the various model calculations.  相似文献

Recent results on nucleon resonance studies in π~+π~-p electro- production off protons with the CLAS detector are presented. The analysis of CLAS data allowed us to determine all essential contributing mechanisms, providing a credible separation between resonant and non-resonant parts of the cross sections in a wide kinematical area of invariant masses of the final hadronic system 1.3 < W < 1.8 GeV and photon virtualities 0.2 < Q~2 < 1.5 GeV~2. Electrocouplings of several excited proton states with masses less than 1.8 GeV were obtained for the first time from the analysis of π~+π~-p exclusive electroproduction channel.  相似文献

The reactionepenπ + has been studied in the invariant mass range of 1.44≦W≦1.83 GeV. The outgoing pion was detected in the backward direction (cosλ π * ≦-0.94) with respect to the virtual photon at four-momentum transfers of 0.4≦q 2≦0.7 (GeV/c)2. The values of the helicity-1/2-partial wave amplitudesA 2?(D 13(1520)) andA 3?(F 15(1688)) were determined by a phenomenological analysis and compared with single quark transition models (S.Q.T.M.).  相似文献

The quantum fluctuations of the two-phase Skyrme soliton model of the nucleon is formulated. The p-wave πN phase shift and the Roper to πN decay width are calculated as a function of the equlibrium defect radius R0. It is found that there is a preferred region of R0 between 0.4 and 0.5 fm where the experimental width can be fitted. It is also found that the region of R0 between 0.1 and 0.36 fm should be excluded in the model due to its instability against small oscillations.  相似文献

The parity-violating (PV) asymmetry of inclusive π- production in electron scattering from a liquid deuterium target was measured at backward angles. The measurement was conducted as a part of the G0 experiment, at a beam energy of 360 MeV. The physics process dominating pion production for these kinematics is quasifree photoproduction off the neutron via the Δ0 resonance. In the context of heavy-baryon chiral perturbation theory, this asymmetry is related to a low-energy constant d(Δ)- that characterizes the parity-violating γNΔ coupling. Zhu et al. calculated d(Δ)- in a model benchmarked by the large asymmetries seen in hyperon weak radiative decays, and predicted potentially large asymmetries for this process, ranging from A(γ)-=-5.2 to +5.2 ppm. The measurement performed in this work leads to A(γ)-=-0.36±1.06±0.37±0.03 ppm (where sources of statistical, systematic and theoretical uncertainties are included), which would disfavor enchancements considered by Zhu et al. proportional to V(ud)/V(us). The measurement is part of a program of inelastic scattering measurements that were conducted by the G0 experiment, seeking to determine the N-Δ axial transition form factors using PV electron scattering.  相似文献

For a polarized target, π3He interaction is studied in the fixed-center approximation with all rescatterings included. Only the P 33 wave is taken for the πN interaction. The nuclear wave function is taken either as a sum of Gaussian functions or as a Faddeev wave function in the s-wave approximation. The differential cross sections and asymmetries for elastic π+3He scattering at the laboratory energies of T π, 180, and 256 MeV are calculated. The reaction γp 0γ′ has been measured with the Crystal Ball/TAPS detectors using the energy-tagged photon beam at the electron accelerator facility MAMI-B. Energy and angular differential cross-sections for the emitted photon γ′ and angular differential cross-sections for the π0 have been determined with high statistics in the energy range of the Δ+ (1232)-resonance. Cross-sections and the ratio of the cross-section to the nonradiative process γp 0 are compared to theoretical reaction models, having the anomalous magnetic moment κ Δ as free parameter. As the shape of the experimental distributions is not reproduced in detail by the model calculations, currently no extraction of κ Δ is feasible.  相似文献

The ω resonance production and its π0γ decay in pA reactions close to threshold is considered within the Intranuclear Cascade (INC) model. The π0γ invariant-mass distribution shows two components which correspond to the ω decay “inside” and “outside” the nucleus, respectively. The “inside” component is distorted by medium effects, which introduce a mass shift as well as collisional broadening for the ω-meson and its decaying pion. The relative contribution of the “inside” component is analyzed in detail for different kinematical conditions and nuclear targets. It is demonstrated that a measurement of the correlation in azimuthal angle between the π0 and γ momenta allows to separate events related to the “inside”ω decay from different sources of background when uncorrelated π0's and γ's are produced. This article presents measurements of the asymmetry of formation of + mesons on a proton by linearly polarized photons in the energy region from 220 to 320 MeV and for pion emission angles 90–135° in the c.m.s. Aphenomenological analysis is carried out on the basis of 25 measured values of the asymmetry and the data of other laboratories. Photoproduction of neutral pions from the deuteron has been studied for incident photon energies from 200 MeV to 792 MeV with the TAPS detector at the Mainz MAMI accelerator. Total and differential cross sections covering the full angular range have been obtained for coherent and incoherent single πo-photoproduction. Good agreement between model predictions and the data was found for the coherent process. The incoherent cross section in the energy region of the Δ(1232)-resonance is overestimated by existing models. A comparison to model predictions indicates that final state interaction effects are much more important than for the coherent reaction. However, the angular dependence of the data in the Δ-peak region follows the pattern expected from the dominant excitation of the M1+-multipole on the free nucleon. The energy and angular dependence of single πo-photoproduction in the second resonance region is remarkably different from the reaction on the free proton, indicating a strong nuclear effect. Finally the total cross section for double πo-photoproduction from the deuteron has been measured for the first time and was used to estimate the cross section for double πo-photoproduction from the neutron. Cross-sections for the π+-induced fission of 209Bi and 235U have been measured in small steps across the 3-3 resonance to search for any mechanisms that might signal a change in the reaction mechanism across a region where strong coupling of available energy into nuclear excitation can be expected. The process e + e ? ?? ??0??0 is described in the framework of the expanded NJL model in the energy region from 0.9 to 1.5 GeV. The contribution of intermediate state with vector mesons ??(782), ??(1020), and ???(1420), where ??? is the first radial excitation of ?? meson, was taken into account. A model is explored in which the fragmentation region is populated by the hadronization of a string which stretches from a fast forward quark to a quark in the backward hemisphere of the p collision. This model is a part of more complicated models which have been studied elsewhere. It successfully fits observed inclusive production of 0-mesons, 0-mesons and -mesons, and agrees with the result that their production in p collisions is harder than in electron-position annihilation if: (a) the forward quark has an initial momentum which is at least 0·9 of that of the 0-mesons (b) gluon radiation is weaker than in electron-positron annihilation.  相似文献

In this article, we take the point of view that the light scalar meson a0(980) is a conventional qqstate, and calculate the coupling constants ga0ηπ0 and ga0ηπ0 with the light-cone QCD sum rules. The central value of the coupling constant ga0ηπ0 is consistent with that extracted from the radiative decay φ(1020) → a0(980)γ→ηπ0γ. The central value and lower bound of the decay width Γa0→ηπ0 =127+8448 MeV are compatible with the experimental data of the total decay width Γa0(980) = (50-100) MeV from the Particl...  相似文献

In the framework of the topcolor-assisted technicolor (TC2) model, we study the production of the neutral top-pion πt0 in association with a high-pT jet al the LHC, which proceeds via the partonic processes gg→πt0g, gq→πt0q, qq→πt0g, gb(b)→πt0b(b), and bb→πt0g. We find that it is very challenging to detect the neutral top-pion πt0 via the process pp→πt0 +jet-t-X→tt +jet + X, while the possible signatures of πt0 might be detected via the process pp→πt0 +jet+X→(tc+tc)+jet+X at the LHC.  相似文献

The strong sensitivity of coherent π0 photoproduction to the choice of the reaction energy ω in the elementary tπγ (ω)-matrix is demonstrated. The best agreement of the DWIA results with the experimental data is achieved when ω is chosen as an eigenvalue of the free relativistic hamiltonian of the πN system. This is in agreement with the consequences of the relativistic potential theory.  相似文献

Coherent pion electroproduction on the deuteron is studied in the ((1232) resonance region in the impulse approximation, i.e., neglecting pion rescattering and two-body effects. The elementary reaction on the nucleon is described in the framework of an effective Lagrangian approach including the dominant P33(1232) resonance and the usual background terms of the Born contributions for ?0 production. We have studied the influence of these different contributions on the various structure functions which determine the unpolarized exclusive differential cross section in a variety of kinematic regions.  相似文献
