This paper investigates the dynamics of dark solitons in a Bose--Einstein condensate with a magnetic trap and an optical lattice (OL) trap, and analyses the effects of the periodic OL potential on the dynamics by applying the variational approach based on the renormalized integrals of motion. The results show that the dark soliton becomes only a standing-wave and free propagation of the dark soliton is not possible when the periodic length of the OL potential is approximately equal to the effective width of the dark soliton. When the periodic length is very small or very large, the effects of the OL potential on the dark soliton will be sharply reduced. Finally, the numerical results confirm these theoretical findings.  相似文献

本文给出了高温等离子体中高频波激发低频磁场和离子声波强湍动过程的重整化理论,以便改善通常的弱非线性处理方法,从Vlasov-Maxwell方程组出发,在Fourier表象中得到了包含“最发散”和“次发散”效应互相耦合的高频和低频传播于重整化方程组,从而获得了高、低频振荡粒子重整化分布函数和场的耦合关系。在“最发散”重整化近似下,我们求解了高低频传播子方程组,得到了展开到v4(高频湍动场能密度与等离子体热能密度之比)一次方的近似解和重整化介电函数等表达式。然后,在Fourier逆变换下导得了我们所要的时空表用中重整化强湍动方程组。最后,作为一个说明重整化作用的例子,在一维稳态下求解了孤立子的形式。 关键词:  相似文献

The stationary states as physical solutions to the describing equation are obtained, and the evolution of the dark soliton is numerically simulated. In this paper,the effects of Raman self-pumping and fiber loss on the transmis-sion of fundamental dark soliton and small-amplitude one are discussed with the perturbationmethod of energy-momentum and inverse scatter theory.It is demonstrated that the amplitudeof fundamental dark soliton will decay exponentially,while that of small amplitude dark soli-ton depends strongly on its propagation direction.  相似文献

由于其在通信领域潜在的应用前景, 非局域空间孤子一直是研究热点. 但空间非局域暗孤子由于其边界的特殊性, 对其特别是稳定性方面研究甚少. 提出了非局域暗孤子稳定性分析理论, 并对热非线性体介质中1+1维基态和二阶暗孤子的稳定性进行了数值分析和研究, 得到了稳定性图. 从稳定性分析图可知: 在热非线性体介质中, 1+1维基态暗孤子在其存在区域总是稳定的, 而1+1维二阶暗孤子是震荡不稳定的, 其不稳定区域的宽度与传播常数以及介质的非局域程度有关. 为了验证非局域暗孤子稳定性分析理论的正确性, 对加噪声初始输入的传输进行数值模拟得到了传输图, 传输图表明稳定性分析理论的正确性. 关键词: 非局域 稳定性 暗孤子  相似文献

The dynamics of a dark soliton has been investigated in a Bose--Einstein condensate with an external magnetic trap, and the effects of localized impurity on the dynamics are discussed by the variational approach based on the renormalized integrals of motion. The reciprocal movement of the dark soliton is discussed by performing a standard linear analysis, and it is found that the effects of the localized impurity depend strictly on the positive or negative value of the impurity strength corresponding to the repulsive or attractive impurity. The numerical results confirm the theoretical analysis, and show that the effects also depend on the effective nonlinear coefficient and the harmonic frequency.  相似文献

A system possessing a global U(1) × U(1) symmetry and consisting of two complex scalar fields and a real scalar field is considered. The renormalized potential of the system is a quartic polynomial in the fields involved. It is shown that nontopological soliton Q-ball-like states exist in such a system. A set of nonlinear differential equations that describes such states is obtained. It is shown that, in the case of the thin-wall regime, the soliton configuration is absolutely stable with respect to a transition to a planewave configuration. A universal dependence of the energy and charges of the soliton configuration on the phase frequencies of rotation is obtained for the thick-wall regime. For a general case, the dependence of the energy and charges of the soliton configuration on the phase frequencies of rotation is constructed by numerical methods.  相似文献

A theory is presented to show that gray and dark solitons can exist in bulk polymers with two-photon isomerization (TPI) nonlinearity. The soliton FWHM, intensity and phase profiles are discussed in detail. In addition, the stability properties of these TPI solitons are also investigated by employing the stability criterion based on the renormalized momentum.  相似文献

A new mechanism is proposed for continuous frequency down-conversion of acoustic waves propagating in a paramagnetic crystal at a low temperature in an applied magnetic field. A transverse hypersonic pulse generating a carrier-free longitudinal strain pulse via nonlinear effects is scattered by the generated pulse. This leads to a Stokes shift in the transverse hypersonic wave proportional to its intensity, and both pulses continue to propagate in the form of a mode-locked soliton. As the transverse-pulse frequency is Stokes shifted, its spectrum becomes narrower. This process can be effectively implemented only if the linear group velocity of the transverse hypersonic pulse equals the phase velocity of the longitudinal strain wave. These velocities are renormalized by spin-phonon coupling and can be made equal by adjusting the magnitude of the applied magnetic field. The transverse structure of the soliton depends on the sign of the group velocity dispersion of the transverse component. When the dispersion is positive, planar solitons can develop whose transverse component has a topological defect of dark vortex type and longitudinal component has a hole. In the opposite case, the formation of two-component acoustic “bullets” or vortices localized in all directions is possible.  相似文献

The propagation characteristic of two identical and parallel dark solitons in a silicon-on-insulator(SOI) waveguide is simulated numerically using the split-step Fourier method. The parallel dark solitons imposed by the initial chirp are investigated mainly by changing their power, their relative time delay. The simulation shows that the time delay deforms the parallel dark soliton pulse, forming a bright-like soliton in the transmission process and making the transmission quality down. By increasing the power of one dark soliton, the energy of the other dark soliton can be increased, and larger increase in a soliton's power leads to larger increase in the energy of the other. When the initial chirp is introduced into one of the dark solitons, higher energy consumption is observed. In particular, positive chirps resulting in pulse broadening width while negative chirps narrowing, with an obvious compression effect on the other dark soliton. Finally, large negative chirps are found to have a profound impact on parallel and nonparallel dark solitons.  相似文献

We theoretically study the formation of multiple dark photovoltaic soliton splitting in the quasi-steady-state and steady-state regimes under open-circuit conditions. We find that the initial width of the dark notch at the entrance face of the crystal is a key parameter for generating an even (or odd) number sequence of dark coherent photovoltaic solitons. If the initial width of the dark notch is small, only a fundamental soliton or Y-junction soliton pair is generated. As the initial width of the dark notch is increased, the dark notch tends to split into an odd (or even) number of multiple dark photovoltaic solitons, which realizes a progressive transition from a low-order soliton to a sequence of higher-order solitons. The soliton pairs far away from the centre have bigger width and less visibility. In addition, when the distance from the centre of the dark notch increases, the separations between adjacent dark stripes become slightly smaller.  相似文献

We study the quantum-statistical mechanics, at low temperatures, of a one-dimensional antiferromagnetic Heisenberg model with two anisotropies. In the weak-coupling limit, the temperature dependences of the soliton energy, and the soliton density are determined. At temperaturesT<m 1 c (wherem 1 c is the energy of the lowest energy magnon) the soliton density agrees with the classical statistical-mechanics results if the soliton energy in the classical theory is replaced by the renormalized one of the present theory.  相似文献

We study the effect of gain saturation on the propagation of fundamental dark soliton in a nonlinear, dispersive and amplifying medium. The Er+ 3-doped, Ga5Ge20Sb10S65 chalcogenide glass is used for dark and erbium doped silicon glass for bright solitons. The numerical simulations show that dark soliton doesn't split to subpulses unlike bright soliton and also the dark soliton is more stable in the presence of gain saturation and gain dispersion effects. So the chalcogenide glasses are suitable for designing all optical devices.  相似文献

We analyze the effects of additional terms in the nonlinear Schr?dinger equation for spatial solitons, directly derived from the Maxwell's equations with the Kerr nonlinearity, on the shapes of bright and dark solitons with a fixed polarization. Combining analytical and numerical methods, we find that the additional terms always render the solitons broader. The most essential result is a fundamental limitation on the width of the subwavelength soliton: The ratio of the FWHM of the bright soliton to the wavelength cannot be smaller than 1/2, and the same ratio for the FWHM of the dark soliton cannot be smaller than 1/4.  相似文献

In this work I generalize and apply an analytical approximation to analyze 1D states of non-equilibrium spinor polariton Bose–Einstein condensates (BEC). Solutions for the condensate wave functions carrying black solitons and half-dark solitons are presented. The derivation is based on the non-conservative Lagrangian formalism for complex Ginzburg–Landau type equations (cGLE), which provides ordinary differential equations for the parameters of the dark soliton solutions in their dynamic environment. Explicit expressions for the stationary dark soliton solution are stated. Subsequently the method is extended to spin sensitive polariton condensates, which yields ordinary differential equations for the parameters of half-dark solitons. Finally a stationary case with explicit expressions for half-dark solitons is presented.  相似文献

We show the existence of new stationary solutions in the form of domain wall soliton in the nonlinear Schrödinger-Poisson equations describing the dynamics of quantum electron plasmas. It is found that the domain wall soliton exists at strong coupling constant regime and shows a different dynamical behavior in comparison with the previously found dark and gray solitons. The robustness and the conservation of the energy of the domain wall solitons is demonstrated by numerical simulations.  相似文献
