In this paper, we prove the followingTheorem. Let Cⁿ⁺¹ ( n >5 ) be a conformally flat Riemannian anifola of dimension n + 1 . If Mn is a hypersurface immersed isometrically in Cⁿ⁺¹ over which the second fundamental form is covariant constant, then there are three posible cases only:I . locally Mⁿ= S^p×S^q×S^r, p+q+r=n;Ⅱ . locally Mⁿ=S^p×S^q, p + q = n , where S^k is k- dimensional Riemannian space of constant curvature;III. Mⁿ is umbilical and conformally flat. Moreover, if Mⁿ is connected and complete, then the result holds globally.     

On non-simply connected manifolds with non-trivial parallel spinors

We examine the possibilities of the full holonomy groups of locally irreducible but not necessarily complete Riemannian spin manifolds admitting a non-trivial parallel spinor and discuss some applications of this classification.partially supported by NSERC Grant No. OPG0009421     

Canonical Lorentzian spin structure and twistor spinors on the Fefferman space of a contact Riemannian manifold

The Fefferman space of a contact Riemannian manifold carries a Lorentzian spin structure canonically. On the Lorentzian spin manifold, we investigate the Dirac operator and the twistor operator closely. In particular, we show that, if the contact Riemannian manifold is integrable, then there exist non-zero global solutions of the twistor equation.     

On the second cohomology group of a pinched Riemannian manifold

Summary Let M be a compact orientable Riemannian manifold of dimension even. We assume that the manifold can carry a metric, which is positively k-pinked. In the present paper some properties of the second cohomology group of such a manifold are obtained, when the number k is greater than a number which depends on the dimension of the manifold. On the stability of the center manifold

Gronwall's inequality is used to prove a new lemma in the theory of center manifolds. From it the essential stability properties (asymptotic phase and Pliss reduction principle) can be deduced simply and directly.

Zusammenfassung Mit Hilfe der Gronwallschen Ungleichung beweist man einen neuen Hilfssatz in der Theorie der Zentrumsmannigfaltigkeiten. Davon werden die wesentlichen Stabilitätseigenschaften (asymptotische Phase und Plissscher Reduktionssatz) einfach und direkt abgeleitet.

     

Polypotentials on a Riemannian manifold

Polyharmonic functions are considered on open sets in a Riemannian manifold R and their potential-theoretic properties are studied using the notion of complete m-potentials. Also one obtains here some characterizations of domains in R on which such complete m-potentials exist.     

Landau-Lifshitz-Bloch equation on Riemannian manifold

We bring in Landau-Lifshitz-Bloch equation on m-dimensional closed Riemannian manifold and prove that it admits a unique local solution. When m\ge \mathrm{3} and the initial data in L^{\infty }-norm is suciently small, the solution can be extended globally. Moreover, for m\ge \mathrm{2}, we can prove that the unique solution is global without assuming small initial data.     

A Riemannian manifold with maximal L p spectrum

On a class of Einstein hypersurfaces immersed in a Riemannian manifold

Let x:M→ be an isometric immersion of a hypersurface M into an (n+1)-dimensional Riemannian manifold and let ρ _i  (i∈{1,...,n}) be the principal curvatures of M. We denote by E and P the distinguished vector field and the curvature vector field of M, respectively, in the sense of [8].?If M is structured by a P-parallel connection [7], then it is Einsteinian. In this case, all the curvature 2-forms are exact and other properties induced by E and P are stated.?The principal curvatures ρ _i are isoparametric functions and the set (ρ₁,...,ρ _n ) defines an isoparametric system [10].?In the last section, we assume that, in addition, M is endowed with an almost symplectic structure. Then, the dual 1-form π=P ^♭ of P is symplectic harmonic. If M is compact, then its 2nd Betti number b ₂≥1. Geometric aspects of transversal Killing spinors on Riemannian flows

We study a Killing spinor type equation on spin Riemannian flows. We prove integrability conditions and partially classify those flows carrying non-trivial solutions.
