The possibility of using conjugated polymer (3-octylthiophenes, P3OT) as two-dimensional (2D) photonic band gap crystals was investigated. The different aspects were examined of the absolute photonic band gap (PBG) formation for 2D photonic crystals (PCs) consisting of P3OT pillars in air. The formation of PBG was exhibited and confirmed by a calculation of transfer matrix method (TMM). It was found that P3OT triangular structure could be good candidate for absolute inhibition of reflection in ultraviolet frequency region for given orientation.  相似文献

We review the recent theoretical study on the optical properties of one-dimensional soft photonic crystals (1D SPCs) with ferrofluids. The proposed structure is composed of alternating ferrofluid layers and dielectric layers. For the ferrofluid, single domain ferromagnetic nanoparticles can align to a chain under the stimuli of an external magnetic field, thus changing the microstructure of the system. Meanwhile, nonlinear optical responses in ferrofluids are also briefly reviewed.  相似文献

利用传输矩阵法研究了含特异材料的一维超导光子晶体的带隙特性. 研究表明, 这类超导光子晶体同样具有由传统的电介质材料构成的超导光子晶体一样的低频带隙, 且在一定的参数下该低频带隙可以相当宽. 但在一定的结构参数下, 这类超导光子晶体同完全由传统的电介质构成的光子晶体一样不存在低频带隙. 还就超导光子晶体的偏振特性、光子晶体结构参数及环境温度的变化对光子带隙结构的影响进行了研究. 关键词: 超导光子晶体 传输矩阵法 特异材料 光子带隙  相似文献

采用时域有限差分方法(FDTD),结合等离子体计算中的分段线性电流密度卷积技术(PLJERC)对一维等离子体光子晶体(1D-PPC)进行了数值模拟,给出了微分高斯脉冲在一维等离子体光子晶体中的传播过程。计算得到的带隙结构与K-P模型方法的结果一致。计算并分析了等离子体频率、介质介电常数、等离子体-介质层的厚度比以及周期厚度对一维等离子体光子晶体带隙结构的影响。  相似文献

In this paper, the properties of the omnidirectional photonic band gap (OBG) realized by one-dimensional (1D) photonic crystals (PCs) with a staggered structure which is composed of plasma and isotropic dielectric layer have been theoretically studied by the transfer matrix method (TMM). From the numerical results, it has been shown that such OBG is insensitive to the incident angle and the polarization of electromagnetic wave (EM wave), and the frequency range and central frequency of OBG can be effectively controlled by adjusting the plasma frequency, the average thickness of plasma layer, the average thickness of dielectric layer and staggered parameters, respectively. The frequency range of OBG can be notably enlarged with increasing the plasma frequency, average thickness of plasma layer, respectively. Moreover, the bandwidth of OBG can be narrowed with increasing the average thickness of dielectric layer. Changing staggered parameters of dielectric and plasma layer means that the OBG can be tuned. It is shown that 1D plasma dielectric photonic crystals (PPCs) with such staggered structure have a superior feature in the enhancement of frequency range of OBG compared with the conventional 1D binary PPCs. This kind of OBG has potential applications in filters, microcavities, and fibers, etc.  相似文献

Tunable properties of light propagation in photonic crystal fibers filled with liquid crystals, called photonic liquid crystal fibers (PLCFs) are presented. The propagation properties of PLCFs strongly depend on contrast between refractive indices of the solid core (pure silica glass) and liquid crystals (LCs) filing the holes of the fiber. Due to relatively strong thermo-optical effect, we can change the refractive index of the LC by changing its temperature. Numerical analysis of light propagation in PLCF, based on two simulation methods, such as finite difference (FD) and multipole method (MM) is presented. The numerical results obtained are in good agreement with our earlier experimental results presented elsewhere [1].  相似文献

We theoretically investigate the photonic band gap in one-dimensional photonic crystals with a graded multilayer structure. The proposed structure constitutes an alternating composite layer (metallic nanoparticles embedded in TiO2 film) and an air layer. Regarding the multilayer as a series of capacitance, effective optical properties are derived. The dispersion relation is obtained with the solution of the transfer matrix equation. With a graded structure in the composite layer, numerical results show that the position and width of the photonic band gap can be effectively modulated by varying the number of the graded composite layers, the volume fraction of nanoparticles and the external stimuli.  相似文献

采用平面波展开加超元胞方法计算了二维正方格子磁性光子晶体的光子带隙结构,其中散射子的形状分别为长方形,正方形,六角形和圆形.结果表明绝对带隙宽度和其宽高比远大于同种结构的非磁性光子晶体.在此基础上,构成了混合型异质结,并计算了相应的传导模,发现了理想的界面传导模,而且当磁性散射子为长方形、圆形、六角形散射子时产生传导模都不需要晶格畸变,这也是磁性光子晶体异质结所具备的优点. 关键词: 光子晶体 光子带隙结构 传导模  相似文献

应用复平面波展开法对一维光子晶体的光子带隙, 透射特性进行了分析. 通过对色散关系和透射系数的数值计算发现一维光子晶体周期结构个数以及折射率分布对光学晶体透射系数以及光子带隙的影响. 对于含有整数个周期结构的光子晶体有共振点出现在光子帯隙外的频率范围内, 共振点的个数比周期结构个数少1. 带隙倾斜斜率等于折射率的比值. 折射率比值越大, 带隙的范围越大.  相似文献

We consider the oblique propagation of electromagnetic waves in one-dimensional plasma dielectric photonic crystals, the superlattice structure consisting of alternating plasma and dielectric materials using transfer matrix method. Our results show that photonic band gaps for all polarizations can be obtained in one-dimensional plasma dielectric photonic crystals. These structures can exhibit a new type of band or gap, for the incidence angles other than normal incidence, near frequencies where the electric permittivity of the plasma layer changes sign. This new band or gap arises, from the dispersive properties of the plasma layer, only for TM polarized waves and its width increases with the increasing angle of incidence. This differential behaviour under polarization can be utilized in the design of an efficient polarization splitter. The band characteristic is affected by the plasma width, the plasma density, dielectric width, the dielectric constant of the dielectric medium and angle of incidence.  相似文献

 基于传输矩阵法,数值研究了掺杂对一维光子晶体带隙特征的影响。研究表明:掺杂时,禁带中心会出现一导带,导带深度会随着掺杂位置、杂质折射率的变化而发生变化。当晶体结构给定时,总存在一个掺杂位置,使其禁带中心的导带深度达到最深;而对于给定的掺杂位置,当杂质折射率为某特定值时,禁带中心同样也会出现一个深度最深的导带,这种特性可应用于滤波器件和光学谐振腔的设计。  相似文献

利用传输矩阵方法对一维Ag/MgF2光子晶体的带隙特性进行了研究。构建了由Ag和MgF2组成的一维光子晶体结构模型,以此模型为基础详细讨论了填充比、周期层数、入射角等参数对光子晶体带隙结构的影响,并讨论了造成吸收的原因。研究结果表明,与其他金属光子晶体的研究结果相比,该结构的金属光子晶体在紫外线波段具有高反射率的光子带隙,属于不完全带隙的一维光子晶体,适用于制作紫外线波段的光学反射镜。  相似文献

Based on the transfer matrix method (TMM), the interaction of electromagnetic waves with one-dimensional (1D) defective photonic crystal in ultraviolet (UV) frequency region had been studied. With the calculated transmittance characteristics in the wavelength domain, it can be found that the defect mode can be generated within the photonic band gap (PBG) at the central wavelength. Also the effects of many parameters such as the angle of incidence, the state of polarization and the defect layer thickness have been taken in account. A significant effect in generating multiple defect peaks within the PBG has been illustrated.  相似文献

We propose a ring photonic crystal working in the near infrared region, where the air holes in the background material GaAs are arranged to form a series of rings. We find that the band gaps do not depend on the incident direction, and only a small number of rows are needed to create a frequency gap in the transmission spectrum. The transmission spectra of both P and S polarizations show that there is a complete bandgap in the hexagonal ring photonic crystals and the ratio of gap width to mid-gap frequency is as high as 11%.  相似文献

光子晶体是由两种或两种以上不同介电常数材料所构成的周期性光学纳米结构.光子晶体结构可分为一维、二维和三维,其中二维光子晶体已成为研究的热点.可调带隙的二维光子晶体可以设计出新型的光学器件,因此,对它的研究具有重要的理论意义和应用价值.本文提出的二维新型函数光子晶体可以实现光子晶体带隙的可调性.所谓二维函数光子晶体,即组成它的介质柱的介电常数是空间坐标的函数,它不同于介电常数为常数的二维常规光子晶体.二维函数光子晶体是通过光折变非线性光学效应或电光效应使介质柱的介电常数成为空间坐标的函数.运用平面波展开法给出了TE和TM波的本征方程,由傅里叶变换得到二维函数光子晶体介电常数ε(r)的傅里叶变换ε(G),其傅里叶变换比常规二维光子晶体的复杂.计算发现当介质柱介电常数为常数时,其傅里叶变换与常规二维光子晶体的相同,因此二维常规光子晶体是二维函数光子晶体的特例.在此基础上具体研究了二维函数光子晶体TE波和TM波的带隙结构,其介质柱介电常数函数形式取为ε(r)=k·r+b,其中k,b为可调的参数.并与二维常规光子晶体TE波和TM波的带隙结构进行了比较,发现二维函数光子晶体与二维常规光子晶体TE波和TM波的带隙结构有明显的区别,二维函数光子晶体的带隙数目、位置以及宽度随参数k的变化而发生改变.从而实现了二维函数光子晶体带隙结构的可调性,为基于二维光子晶体的光学器件的设计提供了新的设计方法和重要的理论依据.  相似文献

The oblique transmission of light through a layer of a chiral photonic crystal with graded modulated parameters is considered. The problem is solved by the Ambartsumian’s layer addition method. Dependences of amplitude characteristics on the wavelength at different incident angels are presented for two cases: namely, for the case of a chiral photonic crystal with a linearly varied spatial period of modulation and in the case of a chiral photonic crystal with a linearly varied spatial depth of modulation. The case of a minimal influence of dielectric boundaries is considered. It is shown that in both cases a broadening of the photonic forbidden band gap takes place.  相似文献

采用平面波展开的方法计算了正方格子二维磁性光子晶体(MPC)的光子带隙结构.散射子的形状分别为:长方形,正方形,六角形和圆形.通过调节磁导率,填充率和散射子的旋转角度,找到了MPC各种结构的最大的绝对带隙宽高比ωR.研究发现:随着磁导率的增加,MPC绝对带隙中心频率ωg单调减小,绝对带隙宽度Δω和其宽高比ωR可能不同时达到最大值.而随着填充率或者散射子旋转角的增加,基本不改变ωg的大小,各种结构的Δω和ωR同时达到最大值. 关键词: 磁性光子晶体 光子带隙结构  相似文献

采用平面波展开法和时域有限差分法研究了二维色散和各向异性磁化等离子体光子晶体的色散特性.当波矢在周期平面时,由于外加磁场的作用使TE模的色散曲线出现两个不同区域的平带,改变磁场的大小不但可以控制平带的位置,而且可以控制光子带隙的位置和大小.增大背景材料的介电常数,可以形成全方向光子带隙,随着背景材料介电常数的增加,带隙的中心位置降低但带隙宽度增加.当波矢偏离周期平面时,色散曲线不再分为TE和TM模,随着非周期平面波矢的增加,带隙位置上移,带隙宽度先增加随后基本保持不变.  相似文献
