With the overall critical current density,J c , remaining low for PbMo6S8, the addition of 0.3 at. % Sn noticcably improved the performance. The enhancement occurs despite the presence of excess Pb and a slightly suppressedT c . The increase inJ c can be attributed to a better homogeneity with respect to the chemical composition of the samples, which may be as a consequence of Sn substitution in the lattice. Detailed calorimetric investigation of undoped PbMo6S8 showed aT c distribution down to 9 K evidenced by a smearing ofT c . This may be due to a progressive degradation of the sample quality leading to a plausible off-stoichiometry. High-resolution Auger electron spectroscopic experiments suggest a variation in composition indicating excellent correspondence with the specific heat data. However, no such deviation was detected for the Sn-doped samples and therefore the observed raise inJ c . The results are discussed in conjunction with oxygen, lead and tin incorporated PbMo6S8.  相似文献

A new 1223-type (Tl, V)-based superconducting layered cuprate (Tl1–x V x ) Sr2Ca2Cu3O9 withx=0.25 and 0.50 has been successfully synthesized in the nearly-pure form and identified by powder X-ray diffration analyses. An excessive quantity of Tl is necessary for the preparation of the (Tl, V)-based 1223-type compound. Resistance and ac susceptibility measurements showed that the new (Tl, V)-based 1223 cuprate exhibits Tc above 110 K.  相似文献

Dc resistivity and ac susceptibility have been measured simultaneously on Y–Ba–Cu–O specimens under the effect of a temperature gradient. During cooling process, an intermediate (normal-superconducting) state of samples forms in the vicinity ofT c and an artificial, local, step-like change of temperature induces an oscillatory relaxation of the measured parameter. This phenomenon has been interpreted in the framework of a vortexglass model as a collective relaxation of vortices inside a domain volume defined by vortex-glass correlation length. Close to theT c the domain relaxation time and the correlation length have been determined as 51 s and 2 mm, respectively.  相似文献

We have studied the influence of oxygen on the superconducting properties of thin films of lead, indium and tin deposited on glass or sapphire substrates. In addition, the morphological microstructure was investigated by scanning electron microscopy. The film thickness was 1.0 μm, and the partial pressure of O2 during the film deposition was raised up to 1×10−4 Torr. In all three materials the development of a granular structure and a strong increase in the residual electric resistivity was observed due to the O2-treatment. Whereas in the Pb films no change of the critical temperature was found, the In films deposited on glass substrates showed a slight increase ofT c due to the oxygen. The strongest increase ofT c (up to 8%) was observed in the O2-treated Sn films. These results are discussed in terms of the McMillan theory. From our measurements of the critical current densityj c we conclude that edge pinning is dominant in the undoped films. All three materials showed a strong increase ofj c due to the O2-treatment which must be interpreted in terms of bulk pinning.  相似文献

The optical spectrum of reduced-T c GdBa2Cu3O7– has been measured for polarizations parallel and perpendicular to theab plane. The sample was an oxygen-deficient single crystal with a large face containing thec axis. The polarized reflectance from this face was measured from 20–300 K in the spectral region from 30–3000 cm–1, with 300 K data to 30000 cm–1. Kramers-Kronig analysis was used to determine the spectral dependence of theab and thec components of the dielectric tensor. The optical properties are strongly anisotropic. Theab-plane response resembles that of other reduced-T c materials whereas thec axis, in contrast, shows only the presence of several phonons. There is a complete absence of charge carrier response alongc aboveand belowT c. This observation allows us to set an upper limit to the free-carrier spectral weight for transport perpendicular to the CuO2 planes.Permanent address: Institute of Physics, CSAV, Prague, Czechoslovakia  相似文献

Nonlinear I–V characteristics of YBa2Cu3O y epitaxial film at different temperatures in a magnetic field of up to 5T and angles between the direction of the field and the a–b plane of 0°, 30°, 45°, 60°, and 90° were measured. We find that there are the vortex glass phase and vortex liquid phase in the mixed state. The flux creep exists in the vortex glass phase, and it obviously appears in the area around the boundary between the vortex glass phase and the vortex liquid phase.  相似文献

The electrical resistivity, thermoelectric power and the Nernst effect have been studied as a function of temperature and magnetic field for a typical superconductor DyBa2Cu3O7– magnetically textured in situ at 1035°C. The three transport coefficients show hybrid microscopic features. In particular, we show the anisotropy with respect to the field direction (H//a,H//c) in all transport coefficients. We verify that Tinkham's law is obeyed for the broadening of the resistive transition in a magnetic field. Similarly we obtainanisotropic broadening exponents for each integrated excess property. From Arrhenius plots we obtain orders of magnitude for the activation energies characterizing each property. They are markedly different from each other.  相似文献

The transport critical current properties of Bi(2223) silver-clamped thick films are studied by the measurement of its dependence on magnetic field and temperature close to T c. It is found that the transport critical current follows a power law J c(1–T/T c)3/2 for the sample with J c>2.0×104 A/cm2 (77K, zero field) and that J c(H) is basically reversible for increasing and decreasing magnetic field. After the transport current exceeds the critical current, the voltage-current (V-I) characteristics show a flux-creep-like behaviour until they smoothly join the flux-flow state. From the measurement of V-I curves, the pinning property of the sample may be estimated using the flux-creep mode. The flux-flow resistance is found to have a nonlinear magnetic field dependence.  相似文献

The reaction process and the reaction behavior of each component in the Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O system are presented in this paper. It reveals that the reaction is carried out in three different stages: forming of an insulating interphase at 680°C–790°C, forming of the 2212 superconducting phase at 790°C–860°C and forming often semiconducting phases in the presence of the liquid phase at 860°C–970°C. It is also confirmed that the 2212 superconducting phase (T c=85 K) is formed by the reaction of a trinary interphase together with CuO, SrO and CaO. A new two-step method is presented to prepare the 2212 superconducting phase by a presynthesized interphase.  相似文献

A crystallization study has been carried out for rapidly solidified Bi2Pb0.5Sr2Ca4Cu5Ox glass. Glass transition temperature T g, crystallized superconducting phases and microstructural changes were measured and analysed by differential thermal analysis (DTA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The crystallization mechanism of the three superconducting phases — (2201) 20 K phase, (2212) 80 K phase, and (2223) 110 K phase — has been discussed, and a time-temperature-transformation diagram for the glass has been constructed.  相似文献

Applying the Jing and Gonser model for the high-T c superconductivity based on electron hopping the Stoichiometric connections and appropriate restrictions are given. It is shown that for the compounds of typeA 2–x B xCuO4 andAB 2Cu3O9–x, whereA is a trivalent rare-earth ion andB is a divalent alkali earth ion, the superconductivity is realized only if 0T c superconducting compounds are propounded and considered, too. The optimum compound which contains fluorine atoms should be of the form YBa2Cu3F2O5.875. All the relations presented find confirmation in experiments.  相似文献

Finely ground powders ofRBa2Cu3O7 – (R=Y, Nd, Sm, Eu, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb) have been mixed at dilute 3%-by-volume concentrations into epoxy matrices which were then allowed to harden in applied magnetic fieldsH A=18 kOe. X-ray diffractometry studies and 4.3 K measurements of supercurrent-induced magnetization hysteresisM are interpreted as indicating at least partial alignment of single-crystal-grain c-axes (1) parallel toH A forR=Y, Nd, Sm, Dy, Ho (as earlier found by Farrell et al. forR=Y), and (2) perpendicular toH A forR=Eu, Er, Tm, Yb. With a few exceptions (Y, Sm, Eu) the alignment direction correlates with the sign of the second-order Stevens factor J of the crystalline electric field Hamiltonian in the manner suggested by Livingston et al. For the best aligned specimens (Ho, Dy) critical current densitiesJ c (4.3 K, 5 kOe) for individual grains are estimated fromM and the Bean model to be of order 107 A/cm2 for the measuring fieldH parallel to the original alignment fieldH A, and of order 106 A/cm2 forH perpendicular toH A.  相似文献

The zero-field-cooled magnetization relaxation has been studied over wide temperature and field ranges on iron-doped YBa2Cu3O7–y single crystals. The relationship between the twin boundary density, which depends on the iron composition, and the pinning strength of the flux lines is determined systematically. For magnetic fields up to 1 T the inductive critical current density decreases as the iron composition increases. The Bean critical state model and the Anderson-Kim thermally activated flux-creep model are utilized to analyze and interpret the experimental results.  相似文献

We have successfully synthesized a new (Hg, V)-based 1212-type cuprate (Hg1?x V x )Sr2(Y1?y Ca y )Cu2O z . The electrical resistance measurements showed that some of the as-synthesized materials with proper Hg/V and Y/Ca ratios exhibit weak superconductivity. Oxygen-annealing significantly improved their superconducting behavior, andT c(onset) up to 110 K was observed. The lattice parameters of (Hg,V)-1212 were found to be in the order ofa=3.8415(1) Å andc=11.8514(6) Å. Substitu ting mercury atoms by vanadium ones results in an important increase of thea parameter and an important decrease of thec parameter compared to the known Hg-based Sr-bearing compounds. The crystal structure of (Hg, V)-1212 was refined by Rietveld refinement against X-ray powder data using the tetragonal symmetry of space groupP4/mmm. The V and Cu valence states and superconductivity in this new (Hg, V)-1212 cuprate are briefly discussed.  相似文献

The influence of fast neutron irradiation on the superconducting transition temperature,T c , the transition width, upper critical field,B c2 , and critical current density,j c , has been investigated in YBa2Cu3O7 up to a fluence of 1019 cm–2 (E>1 MeV). TheT c degradation with fluence is slightly less than in PbMo6S8, but larger than in A 15 compounds. The irradiation induced increase of the normal state resistivity is accompanied by a remarkable decrease of both the intergrainj c and the superconducting volume fraction.  相似文献

The resistance varies as T2 over the range of T from Tc to nearly 40 K, in sintered, sputtered and evaporated thin film CuxMo6S8, and in sputtered PbMo6S8 films. In sintered PbMo6S8 the resistance varies as T. These results can neither be explained by existing theory for PbMo6S8, nor by a Mo2S3 phase argument.  相似文献

Intercalation of polyatomic molecules into a superconductor can drastically affect the properties of the compound. A mechanism responsible for a large increase in T c for such systems is proposed. It explains the recent remarkable observation of high T c superconductivity in the hole-doped C60/CHX3 (X≡Cl, Br) compounds and the large shift in their T c upon Cl↦Br substitution. The increase in T c is due to contribution to the pairing arising from the interaction of electrons with the vibrational manifold of the molecule. The proposed mechanism opens up the possibility to observe a site-selective isotope effect. We also suggest that intercalating CHI3 would further increase the critical temperature to T c≃ 140 K. Observation of modulated diffuse streaks in electron diffraction patterns of Tl2Ba2CuO6 and YBa2Cu3O7– ceramic superconductors is reported. These streaks are parallel with the c-axis and the intensity modulation has a period in reciprocal space which is larger than the c*-parameter. This behaviour is interpreted in terms of disordered sublattices. It is shown that the fine structure results from short range order in two successive homologous layers forming one bi-layer and that the intensity modulation in the diffuse streaks therefore allows one to determine which of the bi-layers in the material exhibit disorder.Research assistant of the National Fund for Scientific Research, Belgium  相似文献

With the vibrating reed technique we have measured the critical current densityJ c of a Y 123 200 nm thin film as a function of magnetic field perpendicular to the CuO2 planes (O T<B8 T) and temperature (20KT60 K). At fieldsB<0.1 TJ c is magnetic field independent and decreases at higher fields. A comparison with theory indicates that a crossover from a single pinning to a small bundle collective pinning regime may explain the observed behaviour. According to our estimate the main pinning centers are weak point pins due to oxygen vacancies. From the temperature dependence ofJ c atB0 we obtain a temperature dependence of the thermodynamical critical fieldB c (1–T/T c )2 forT20 K which agrees with the anomalous temperature dependence ofB c2 observed recently in highly anisotropic high temperature superconductors.  相似文献

Porous magnesium diboride samples have been prepared by the heat treatment of a pressed mixture of Mg and MgB2 powders. It was found that linked superconducting structure is formed down to the minimum normalized density γc=d/d0≅0.16 (percolation threshold), where d is the density of MgB2 averaged over the sample, d0=2.62 g/cm3 is the X-ray density. Lattice parameters and critical temperature of the porous sample decrease with increasing porosity (decreasing γ) and Tc2≅32 K is minimal at γc. The grain boundaries in the porous samples are transparent for the current and Jc∼3×105 A/cm2 in self field at T=20 K in the samples with γ∼0.24.  相似文献
