Bifunctional mesoporous material with an acidic framework and basic pores was synthesized via the co-condensation of TEOS, bistrimethoxysilylated precursors with a disulfide core, and 3-tert-butyloxycarbonyl (aminopropyl)triethoxysilane using P123 as surfactant; the reduction of disulfide units to SH groups followed by their oxidation into SO3H and deprotection of amino groups gave rise to a material containing two antagonist functionalities located at the nanometric scale in a successful cohabitation, avoiding their mutual destruction in the presence of aprotic solvent. This kind of material illustrates the large possibilities offered by mesoporous materials and opens new and unsuspected applications.  相似文献

In the present work, we report on the thermal stability of NH2-MCM-41 hybrid material under different atmospheres (nitrogen and air). The thermal stability of this hybrid material is very important because of its common use in catalysis, adsorption, biomedical and biotechnological applications, based on mesoporous and aminopropyl functionalities. Samples were prepared by one pot co-condensation method with different loadings of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES). The thermal stability of hybrid samples (NH2-MCM-41) heat treated in nitrogen and air at 30–800 °C has been investigated. Samples were synthesized under basic media in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTABr) as structure-directing agent, tetraethyl orthosilicate as silica source, and APTES as functionalizing agent with molar composition of 0.055 CTABr:045 SiO2:0.054 APTES:5.32 NH4OH:14.99 H2O at 50 °C for 24 h at pH 12.4. The obtained hybrid materials have been characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TG), derivative thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray powder diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and surface area determination by the BET method. Based on TG measurements of the treated samples, it was found out that the thermal stability varied greatly in different atmospheres.  相似文献

The modification of silica nanoparticles with hexafluoropropylene oxide (HFPO) oligomers has been investigated. HFPO oligomers with two different average degrees of polymerization (DPn = 8 and 15) were first prepared by anionic ring-opening polymerization, deactivated by methanol, and in some cases postfunctionalized by aminopropyl(tri)ethoxysilane or allylamine. The "grafting onto" reactions of these oligomers were then carried out either on bare silica (reaction between a silanol surface and ethoxy-silanized HFPO) or on silica functionalized by amino groups (in an amidation reaction with methyl ester-ended HFPO) or mercapto groups (via the radical addition of allyl-functionalized HFPO). Hybrid nanoparticles thus obtained were characterized by solid-state (29)Si NMR and FTIR spectroscopies as well as elemental and thermogravimetric analyses. The results assessed a significant yield of covalent grafting of HFPO oligomers when performing the hydrolysis-condensation of ethoxylated HFPO on the bare silica surface, compared to the other two methods that merely led to physically adsorbed HFPO chains. Chemically grafted nanohybrids showed a high thermal stability (up to 400 °C) as well as a very low surface tension (typically 5 mN/m) compared to physisorbed complexes.  相似文献

The distribution of SO(3)H-functional groups attached to the ordered inner pore walls of mesoporous Si-MCM-41 materials based on SiO(2) was investigated by gas adsorption combined with in situ small angle neutron scattering (SANS). The functionalization was performed by two different methods, (i) grafting and (ii) co-condensation. The adsorbates N(2) at 77 K or a H(2)O/D(2)O mixture of 42:58 at 298 K possess neutron scattering length densities (SLD) similar to that of SiO(2) and therefore quench the diffraction signals of the nonmodified silica. SANS measurements show that N(2) matches completely not only with the pristine mesoporous Si-MCM-41 but also with Si-MCM-41-SO(3)H functionalized by grafting. Thus, full access of adsorbate into the entire length of the pores is proven. For the analysis of the distribution of functional groups within the pores in dependence on the used functionalization method, grafting or co-condensation, however, the more specific adsorbate H(2)O/D(2)O (42:58) is necessary, because it reacts more sensitively toward small changes in the SLD of the host material. For grafted Si-MCM-41-SO(3)H materials, an incomplete quenching was observed, indicating that only some regions, probably the pore mouths, have been modified. For a sample functionalized by co-condensation, almost no quenching of the neutron diffraction was found, indicating a very homogeneous distribution of the functional groups along the entire pores.  相似文献

Fullerene/silica hybrid materials were obtained by radiation grafting on silica surface of toluene or decalin solutions of C60. As determined by thermogravimetric analysis, the amount of C60 grafted on silica surface was dependent from the radiation dose administered and independent from the C60 concentration and the nature of the organic solvent. In absence of air, a dose of 48 kGy was sufficient to ensure a grafting level of 30% by weight of C60 in the hybrid material. The fullerene/silica hybrid material shows a remarkable thermal stability, since the early decomposition starts above 300 °C as measured by DTG and DTA. The chemical structure of the fullerene/silica hybrid material was determined by FT-IR spectroscopy and with solid state 13C CP-MAS NMR. The potential application of such materials has been outlined.  相似文献

In these experiments, double-stranded, linear DNA sequences were adsorbed into the pores of spherically shaped acid-prepared mesoporous silica (APMS). The lengths of the sequences were either 760 base pairs or 2000 base pairs. DNA adsorption into the interior of the mesoporous material was confirmed using confocal microscopy of sequences containing fluorescently labeled DNA molecules. Additional characterization with N(2) physisorption and powder X-ray diffraction supported this finding. The extent of adsorption was measured at various concentrations using UV-visible spectrophotometry to establish adsorption isotherms. APMS alone adsorbed a negligible amount of DNA; however, exchanging divalent cations such as Mg(2+) and Ca(2+) into the pores of APMS prior to DNA uptake was found to cause a significant amount of DNA to be adsorbed. Using Na(+) caused a lower amount of DNA to be adsorbed. DNA adsorption was also dependent on the pore diameter of APMS. Adsorption increased upon expansion of the pore size of the metal ion-exchanged material from 34 to 54 A; however, no additional uptake was measured by further increasing the pore size to 100 A. The amount of DNA adsorbed could also be significantly increased by using (aminopropyl)triethoxysilane to covalently link ammonium ions to the surface. Postsynthetic modification of the silica surface with aminopropyl groups increased the maximum DNA adsorption to 15.7 microg/mg silica, for materials with pore diameters of 100 A, which is 2 to 3 times more adsorbed DNA than for metal ion-exchanged material. This indicated that DNA binds more strongly in the presence of the ammonium group compared to the metal counterions. Finally, calculation and comparison of Freundlich and Langmuir constants for these adsorption processes indicate that intermolecular interactions between the DNA molecules within the pores are significant when the effective pore diameter is small, including materials with larger pores that were modified with organosilane.  相似文献

The surface of silica was modified by mercaptopropyl, chloropropyl, aminopropyl, and methacryloxypropyl groups by the treatment of silica with the corresponding silane coupling agents, and the effects of functional groups on the surface on the polymerization of vinyl monomers initiated by benzoyl peroxide or 2,2-azobisisobutyronitrile were investigated. Although the rate of the polymerization of vinyl monomers in the presence of silica was almost equal to that in the absence of silica, a part of polymer formed was grafted onto silica surface. The polymerization was considerably retarded in the presence of these functionalized silicas and the corresponding polymers were effectively grafted onto the surface. The molecular weight of ungrafted polymer formed in the presence of the functionalized silica was lower than that formed in the presence of unmodified silica. This indicates that the chain transfer reaction of growing polymer radical to functionalized silica surface forms radicals on the surface, which then couples with growing polymer radical and/or reinitiates the polymerization to give rise to the grafting of polymers onto the surface. In the case of silica having methacryloxypropyl groups, the grafting based on the copolymerization of vinyl monomer with the surface methacryloxypropyl groups was considered to successfully proceed.

The adsorption of water, n-hexane and nitrogen vapors on the mesoporous silica gel with the grafted aminopropyl, mercaptopropyl and dimercaptodipropyl groups is investigated. It is shown that aminopropyl groups are oriented in parallel, whereas the mercaptopropyl ones are either vertical or tilted to the initial sorbent surface. The surface area of silica gel that is free of modifiers, as well as the number of vicinal and isolated OH groups are estimated. It is established that hydrogen bonds between the NH2 groups of aminopropyl radical and isolated OH groups of silica gel are ruptured after the saturation of sorbent with water vapors at a relative pressure of about 0.5. Based on adsorption data, it is concluded that the most of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane interacts with the isolated OH groups of silica gel with a stoichiometric coefficient equal to unity.  相似文献

The objective of this article is to fabricate poly(lactic acid) (PLA) and nano silica (SiO2) composites and investigate effect of SiO2 on the properties of PLA composites. Surface‐grafting modification was used in this study by grafting 3‐Glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (KH‐560) onto the surface of silica nanoparticles. The surface‐grafting reaction was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis. Then the hydrophilic silica nanoparticles became hydrophobic and dispersed homogeneously in PLA matrix. Scanning electron microscope and Dynamic thermomechanical analysis (DMA) results revealed that the compatibility between PLA and SiO2 was improved. Differential scanning calorimetry and polarized optical microscope tests showed that nano‐silica had a good effect on crystallization of PLA. The transparency analysis showed an increase in transparency of PLA, which had great benefit for the application of PLA. The thermal stability, fire resistance, and mechanical properties were also enhanced because of the addition of nano silica particles. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

SBA-15 mesoporous silica has been functionalized with aminopropyl groups through a simple co-condensation approach of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) and (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (APTES) using amphiphilic block copolymers under acidic conditions. The organic-modified SBA-15 materials have hexagonal crystallographic order, pore diameter up to 60 A, and the content of aminopropyl groups up to 2.3 mmol g(-1). The influences of TEOS prehydrolysis period and APTES concentration on the crystallographic order, pore size, surface area, and pore volume were examined. TEOS prehydrolysis prior to the addition of APTES was found essential to obtain well-ordered mesoporous materials with amino functionality. The amount of APTES incorporated in the silica framework increased with the APTES concentration in the synthesis gel, while the ordering of the mesoporous structure gradually decreased. Analysis with TG, IR, and solid state NMR spectra demonstrated that the aminopropyl groups incorporated in SBA-15 were not decomposed during the preparation procedure and the surfactant P123 was fully removed through ethanol extraction. The modified SBA-15 was an excellent base catalyst in Knoevenagel and Michael addition reactions.  相似文献

Poly(aminopropyl/phenyl)silsesquioxane (PAPSQ) microparticles with approximately 350 nm diameter were conveniently synthesized from the hydrolytic co-condensation of γ-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APS) and phenyltriethoxysilane (PTES) in the presence of ethanol and water (EtOH-H2O) by using tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAOH) catalysts. Hybrid compositions of PAPSQ containing both aminopropyl and phenyl groups were confirmed from FT-IR, 29Si CP-MAS NMR, TGA. XRD patterns indicated that a certain ordered structure existed in PAPSQ molecules. Contents of amino groups of PAPSQ were determined by elemental analysis and back titration. Specific surface areas were evaluated through BET method. PAPSQ offers the potential utility as building blocks for diverse and novel organic/inorganic materials.  相似文献

A novel methyl-rich Ti-containing hexagonal mesoporous silica (Ti-HMS) molecular sieve with high hydrophobicity has been prepared by a two-step method involving co-condensation followed by vapor-phase methyl grafting. The sample was characterized by XRD, N2 adsorption, FTIR, UV-visible and 29Si NMR spectroscopies, TG, ICP-AES, and hydrophilicity measurements, and its catalytic performance was evaluated using the epoxidation of cyclohexene as a probe reaction. The Ti-HMS material retains a typical mesoporous structure and compared with a co-condensed Ti-HMS prepared in a one-step method possesses more methyl groups and higher hydrophobicity, and also exhibits better catalytic activity and selectivity.  相似文献

Homogeneous mesoporous zirconium-containing MCM-41 type silica were prepared by supramolecular templating and their textural and structural properties were studied using powder X-ray diffraction, N2 porosimetry, atomic force microscopy, EXAFS, XPS, and UV-VIS-NIR diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. Their acid properties were also studied by using IR spectroscopy and by the use of catalytic tests such as the decomposition of isopropanol and the isomerization of 1-butene. The materials prepared show a good degree of crystallinity with a regular ordering of the pores into a hexagonal arrangement and high thermal stability. The specific surface area of the prepared materials decreases as the zirconium content rises. Zirconium atoms are in coordination 7 to 8 and located at the surface of the pores such that a high proportion of the oxygen atoms bonded to zirconium corresponds to surface non-condensed oxygen atoms. Both facts are responsible for the acid properties of the solids that show weak Brønsted and medium strong Lewis acidity.  相似文献

This work describes adsorption and wetting characterization of hydrophobic ordered mesoporous silicas (OMSs) with the SBA-15 motif. Three synthetic approaches to prepare hydrophobic SBA-15 silicas were explored: grafting with (1) covalently-attached monolayers (CAMs) of C(n)H(2)(n+1)Si(CH(3))(2)N(CH(3))(2), (2) self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of C(n)H(2)(n+1)Si(OEt)(3), and (3) direct ("one-pot") co-condensation of TEOS with C(n)H(2)(n+1)Si(OEt)(3) in presence of P123 (n=1-18). The materials prepared were characterized by nitrogen adsorption, TEM, and chemical analysis. The surface properties of the materials were assessed by water contact angles (CAs) and by BET C constants. The results showed that, while loadings of the alkyl groups (%C) were comparable, the surface properties and pore ordering of the materials prepared through different methods were quite different. The best quality hydrophobic surfaces were prepared for SBA-15 grafted with CAMs of alkylsilanes. For these materials, the water CAs were above ~120°/100° (adv/rec) and BET C constants were in the range of ~15-25, indicating uniform low-energy surfaces of closely packed alkyl groups on external and internal surfaces of the pores respectively. Moreover, surfaces grafted with the long-chained (C(12)-C(18)) silanes showed super-hydrophobic behavior (CAs~150-180°) and extremely low adhesion for water. The pore uniformity of parental SBA-15 was largely preserved and the pore volume and pore diameter were consistent with the formation of a single layer of alkylsilyl groups inside the pores. Post-synthesis grafting of SBA-15 with SAMs worked not as well as CAMs: the surfaces prepared demonstrated lower water CAs and higher BET C constants, thereby indicating a small amount of accessible polar groups (Si-OH) related to packing constrains for SAMs supported on highly curved surfaces of mesopores. The co-condensation method produced substantially more disordered materials and less hydrophobic surfaces than any of the grafting methods. The surfaces of these materials showed low water CAs and high BET C constants (~100-200) thereby demonstrating a non-uniform surface coverage and presence of unmodified silica. It is concluded that CAMs chemistry is the most efficient approach in preparation of the functionalized OMS materials with uniform surfaces and pores.  相似文献

Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) and Raman spectroscopy were employed to study the hydrothermal stability and the influence of surface functional groups on the surface wettability of methyl-modified silica films. The surface free energy parameters of the silica films were determined using the Lifshitz-van der Waals/acid–base approach. The thermal decomposition mechanisms of the CH3 groups in the methyl-modified silica material are proposed. The results show that with the increase of methyltriethoxysilane (MTES)/tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) ratio, the surface free energy and surface wettability of the silica films decrease greatly. This is mainly because of the contribution of the acid–base term; the intensity of Si–CH3 groups increases at the expense of the intensity of O–H groups in the samples. The surfaces of the methyl-modified silica films exhibited predominantly monopolar electron-donicity. The contact angle on the silica film surface reaches its maximum value when calcination is performed at 350 °C. Thermogravimetric analysis implies that some low molecular weight species, such as H2, CH4, and C, are eliminated upon thermal decomposition of the –CH3 groups. The Si–CH3 and –CH3 vibrational bands diminish in intensity as the calcination temperature is increased, disappearing completely when the calcination temperature is increased to 600 °C. When the calcination temperature is increased to 750 °C, the free carbon and CSi4 species will be formed.  相似文献

Mesoporous silica SBA-15 was modified in a three-step process to obtain a material with poly-N-isopropylacrylamide (PNIPAAM) grafted onto the inner pore surface. Water sorption calorimetry was implemented to characterize the materials obtained after each step regarding the porosity and surface properties. The modification process was carried out by (i) increasing the number of surface silanol groups, (ii) grafting 1-(trichlorosilyl)-2-(m-/p-(chloromethylphenyl) ethane, acting as an anchor for (iii) the polymerization of N-isopropylacrylamide. Water sorption isotherms and the enthalpy of hydration are presented. Pore size distributions were calculated on the basis of the water sorption isotherms by applying the BJH model. Complementary measurements with nitrogen sorption and small-angle X-ray diffraction are presented. The increase in the number of surface silanol groups occurs mainly in the intrawall pores, the anchor is mainly located in the intrawall pores, and the intrawall pore volume is absent after the surface grafting of PNIPAAM. Hence, PNIPAAM seals off the intrawall pores. Water sorption isotherms directly detect the presence of intrawall porosity. Pore size distributions can be calculated from the isotherms. Furthermore, the technique provides information regarding the hydration capability (i.e., wettability of different chemical surfaces) and thermodynamic information.  相似文献

The thermodynamics of a chemical reaction confined at a solid surface was investigated through kinetic measurements of a model unimolecular reaction. The thermal cleavage of ester groups grafted at the surface of solid silica was investigated together with complementary physicochemical characterization of the grafted species. The ester molecules were chemically grafted to the silica surface and subsequently cleaved into the carboxylic acids. A grafting process of a reproducible monolayer was designed using the reaction of monofunctional organosilane from its gas phase. The thermal deprotection step of the ester end-group was investigated. The thermal deprotection reaction behaves in quite a specific manner when it is conducted at a surface in a grafted layer. Different organosilane molecules terminated by methyl, isopropyl and tert-butyl ester groups were grafted to silica surface; such functionalized materials were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and NMR spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis, and the thermodynamic parameters of the thermal elimination reaction at the surface were measured. The limiting factor of such thermal ester cleavage reaction is the thermal stability of grafted ester group according to the temperature order: tert-butyl < i-propyl < methyl. Methyl ester groups were not selectively cleaved by temperature. The thermal deprotection of i-propyl ester groups took place at a temperature close to the thermal degradation of the organofunctional tail of the silane. The low thermolysis temperature of the grafted tert-butyl esters allowed their selective cleavage. There is a definite influence of the surface on the reaction. The enthalpy of activation is lower than in the gas phase because of the polarity of the reaction site. The major contribution is entropic; the negative entropy of activation comes from lateral interactions with the neighbor grafted molecules because of the high grafting density. Such reaction is an original strategy to functionalize the silica surface by carboxylic acid groups by means of a simple, reproducible, and efficient process involving in situ thermolysis of ester groups.  相似文献

Grafted poly(β-glucan) (β-glu) strands on the surface of silica are synthesized with varying degrees of grafting density, and display an amorphous-like environment via (13)C CP/MAS NMR spectroscopy. Thermal gravimetric analysis of these materials under oxidative conditions shows increased β-glu thermal stability with higher degrees of grafting density. The range of temperature stability between the most and least hydrogen-bound grafted β-glu strands spans 321 to 260 °C. This range is bound by the combustion temperature previously measured for crystalline and amorphous cellulose, with the former having greater oxidative stability, and is likely controlled by the extent of hydrogen bonding of a grafted β-glu strand with the underlying silica surface. When using these materials as reactants for glycosidic bond hydrolysis, the total number of reducing ends formed during reaction is quantified using a BCA colorimetric assay. Results demonstrate that the material with greatest interaction with silica surface silanols undergoes hydrolysis at an initial rate that is 6-fold higher than the material with the lowest degree of such interaction. The role of the surface as a reactive interface that can endow oxidative stability and promote hydrolysis activity has broad implications for surface-catalyzed processes dealing with biomass-derived polymers.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of cadmium sulphide (CdS) quantum dots, conjugated in a porous phosphate heterostructure functionalized with aminopropyl groups is described. The resulting material has fluorescence properties with maximum emission intensity at 575 nm. The fluorescent materials are not soluble in water and exhibit high stability in aqueous solution in the pH ranges from 2 to 9. Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy confirmed the qualitative elemental composition of the synthesized materials and X-ray photoelectron spectra showed a surface S/Cd atomic ratio of 1.09. SEM images show that the materials are amorphous, possessing porous with sizes of several tens nanometres, homogeneous and exhibit a layered morphology. The adsorption–desorption analysis by N2 at 77 K showed the accessibility of the CdS quantum dots onto the pores of the structure. The CdS quantum dots were stabilized by mercaptopropionic acid and bounded to the host materials by amine groups.  相似文献
