The first non-leading QCD corrections to the coulombic wave function of an S-state in quarkonium have been computed. The result is presented for general principal quantum number n of the decaying state. The corrections increase with n; in most cases, they dominate by far the decay corrections in the simplest example, the leptonic decay of quarkonium.  相似文献

We suggest a new phenomenological potential for heavy quarkonium. The potential has a Lorentz vector term motivated by experimental leptonic widths for vector mesons and perturbative QCD at short distances and a Lorentz scalar term responsible for quark confinement at large distances. Using this potential we calculate the energy levels, leptonic decay widths, radiative transition rates and hadronic decay rates of the \(c\bar c, b\bar b\) and \(t\bar t\) systems. Most results agree well with the experiment.  相似文献

A consistent field theoretic computation of the first-order correction to the total decay of a non-relativistic heavy quarkonium state must consider contributions from the annihilation amplitude, with a typical scale of the order of the quark mass m, and from the bound-state wave function, where the typical scale is of the order of the Bohr momentum αsm. Therefore, not only the latter smaller scale is the one to be taken for the total decay rate, but also a quite specific renormalization, the “bound-state renormalization scheme”, must be used for a computation of the total inclusive decay rate of 0?+→hadrons. Due to important cancellations between large individual contributions, the net result turns out to be small, encouraging the use of pure perturbative QCD in such systems.  相似文献

We analyse inclusive photoproduction of polarized 3P1 quarkonium in the framework of QCD. To separate non-perturbative and perturbative parts in the density matrix of the produced quarkonium we use a method, which is equivalent to the diagrammatic expansion widely used in analyzing deeply inelastic scattering. A systematic expansion in a small velocity v, with which a heavy quark moves inside the quarkonium in its rest frame, is performed for the non-perturbative parts, and they are expressed as matrix elements in non-relativistic QCD. At the leading order of v there are four matrix elements representing non-perturbative physics. The perturbative parts are calculated at the leading order of coupling constants. Some numerical results, especially numerical results for HERA, are given.  相似文献

We derive inequalities between the leptonic decay rates of 1S and 2S states of quarkonium, when the binding potential is an increasing concave (convex) function of the inter-quark distance in a framework where some relativistic corrections have been made to the Van Royen-Weisskopf formula for these rates. Experimental decay rates of the γ and γ′ rule out the convex increasing potential.  相似文献

A comparative study of the spectroscopy and decay properties of the D meson is carried out within the framework of phenomenological quark-antiquark potential (Coulomb plus power) model using hydrogenic and Gaussian wave function. The spin-hyperfine, spin-orbit and tensor interactions are employed to obtain the pseudoscalar and vector meson masses incorporating the effect of mixing. The decay constants (f P/V ) are computed with QCD correction using the wave function at the origin. The leptonic branching fractions and electromagnetic transition rates are also calculated in this scheme. Our predictions at potential index ν=1 are in good agreement with experimental results as well as lattice and other theoretical models.  相似文献

A non-relativistic quark-antiquark system with perturbative gluonic interactions (quarkonium) is considered, which allows a systematic expansion in the strong coupling constant αs. In a non-abelian gauge theory, non-trivial corrections of the wave function already occur to O(αs). We emphasize the existence of a renormalization, which is “natural” for such a system leaving only little freedom in the choice of the renormalization point Λ. The general corrections to O(αs) including coulombic binding are presented. An explicit application to the lowest-order gluonic corrections of the leptonic decay of quarkonium is made. In this process the new term is sometimes much larger than the gluonic correction at the photon vertex and it varies greatly between different coulombic (S-wave) bound states.  相似文献

We modify the mesonic wave function by using a short distance scale r 0 in analogy with hydrogen atom and estimate the values of masses and decay constants of the open flavour charm mesons D, D s and B c within the framework of a QCD potential model. We also calculate leptonic decay widths of these mesons to study branching ratios and lifetime. The results are in good agreement with experimental and other theoretical values.  相似文献

We show that the first order QCD correction to the leptonic decay rate of heavy quark-antiquark3 D 1 bound state is identical to that for a3 S 1 state. Some phenomenological implications of this suppression are also discussed.  相似文献

Treating light as well as heavy pseudoscalar and vector mesons as non-relativistic quarkonia, we calculate various decay modes, including lowest QCD corrections. All decay modes studied are in good agreement with experiment, indicating that the quarkonium treatment is applicable to light mesons η, η′, π, also. Consistency of the quarkonium and current algebra treatments for the process π0 → 2λ leads to fπ = (3)mu {1 ? (0.62/4π)αs(μ)}, where mu is the constituent u-quark mass, and fπ ? 93 MeV.  相似文献

The various properties of quarkonium systems have been studies in the framework of a recently proposed potential model, which combines the asymptotic freedom at the largeQ 2 and the multigluon effect at the lowerQ 2 regions with the confinement at the large distance. Good agreements with experiments are found, including \(c\bar c\) and \(b\bar b\) energy levels, leptonic decay widths, and in particular the fine and hyperfine splittings. We also analyze the Lorentz structure of the confinement potential with reference to the charmonium and bottomium fine and hyperfine splittings. Our analyses conclude that almost pure scalar confinement is favored. The properties of \(t\bar t\) spectroscopies are studied over a wide range of \(M_{t\bar t}\) values (from 80 GeV to 200 GeV).  相似文献

It is shown that a non-relativistic power-law potential model for the heavy quarks in the form V(r)=Ar v+V 0, (A, ν>0) acquires relativistic consistency in generating Dirac bound states of \(Q\bar Q\) -system in agreement with the Schrödinger spectroscopy if the interaction is modelled by equally mixed scalar and vector parts as suggested by the phenomenology of fine-hyperfine splittings of heavy quarkonium systems in a non-relativistic perturbative approach.  相似文献

The level scheme of91Tc has been studied by means of in-beamγ-ray spectroscopy in the irradiations of58Ni and54Fe targets by40Ca beams from the Munich MP tandem and the heavy ion post accelerator. A large number of positive as well as of negative parity yrast-levels with excitation energies up to 8 MeV has been established. The level scheme of91Tc has been compared with shell model claculations and a good agreement for all identified levels has been found. In parallel investigations of the residual activities of the reaction40Ca→54Fe, theβ decay of the (9/2+ ground) state of91Ru has been investigated. Aβ decay scheme of91Ru(9/2+) has been established. The half-life of91Ru(9/2+) has been measured to be 9±1 s.  相似文献

The phenomenological non-relativistic quark model has been employed to obtain the ground state masses of light vector mesons and their radially excited states and their decay widths. The full hamiltonian used in the investigation has kinetic energy, the confinement potential and the one-gluon-exchange potential.A good agreement is obtained with the experimental masses and their leptonic decay widths.  相似文献

We investigate decay properties of the intermediate vector bosons W± and Z0. QED and QCD radiative corrections to leptonic and hadronic decay modes are calculated. Implications of the results for decay widths, branching ratios, determination of the number of neutrino species, e-μ-τ universality and properties of hadronic jets produced in W± and Z0 decays are examined.  相似文献

The decay of85As
The decay of isotope-separated85As has been studied for the first time by means ofγ-ray spectroscopy. A level scheme for85Se has been constructed on the basis ofγγ-coincidence measurements. Spin and parity were then assigned to the lowest excited levels. Two levels, weakly populated in84Se after emission of delayed neutrons, were also identified. The results obtained here differ considerably from previously reported experiments with chemically separated sources.  相似文献

The heavy quarkonium spectrum of Two Color QCD (QC2D) at non-zero quark chemical potential μ and temperature T   with μ/T?1μ/T?1 has been calculated in both S- and P-wave channels using a lattice non-relativistic formulation of QC2D. As μ is varied, the quarkonium spectra reveal three separate regions, corroborating previous findings that there are three distinct physical regimes of QC2D at low temperature and high baryon density: hadronic matter, quark/quarkyonic matter, and deconfined matter. The results are interpreted in terms of the formation of heavy-light Qq states in the two-color baryonic medium.  相似文献

Charmonium \(c\bar c\) and bottomonium \(b\bar b\) are investigated in the framework of a constituent quark model. A scalar confining and a one-gluon exchange (OGE) potential are used in a nonrelativistic reduction to order (p/m)2. Therefore the model includes spin dependent as well as spin independent terms. Their influence on the meson mass spectra and decay widths is analysed. We find that the experimental spectra can be reproduced by using a full model as well as by using a reduced version neglecting the spin independent terms. For both versions we calculate leptonic and radiative decay widths including relativistic corrections for the current operators. We find that for leptonic decays inclusion of all terms of the OGE potential gives better results than the non-relativistic formulas. For radiative transitions relativistic corrections are important.  相似文献

We study the exclusive decay of 1−− heavy quarkonium into one photon and two pions in the kinematic region, where the two-pion system has a invariant mass which is much smaller than the mass of heavy quarkonium. Neglecting effects suppressed by the inverse of the heavy quark mass, the decay amplitude can be factorized, in which the nonperturbative effect related to heavy quarkonium is represented by a non-relativistic QCD matrix element, and that related to the two pions is represented by a distribution amplitude of two gluons in the isoscalar pion pair. By taking the asymptotic form for the distribution amplitude and by using chiral perturbative theory we are able to obtain numerical predictions for the decay. Numerical results show that the decay of J/ψ can be observed at BEPC and at CESR. Experiment observation of this process in this kinematic region at BEPC and CESR can provide information about how gluons are converted into the two pions and may supply a unique approach to study I=0 s-wave ππ scattering.  相似文献

With the help of a relativistic generalization of the formula for the leptonic width of quarkonium in the semiclassical approximation it is shown that for any confinement potential nonsingular at the origin the sum of total cross sections for the production of the heavy quarkonium states \((Q\bar Q)_n\) with masses \(M_n \leqq \sqrt s\) ine + e ?-annihilation is equal to the cross section at givens for the production of the free quark-antiquark pair \(Q\bar Q\) . We obtain also a family of dual sum rules for quarkonium which are in agreement with the available experimental data on charmonium and beautionium within experimental errors.  相似文献
