A method of analyzing experimental creep curves of a nonlinear viscoelastic material to obtain relaxation curves is examined. It is assumed that the family of creep curves in question cannot be represented as a product of the stress function and a function of time. The investigation is carried out using the memory theory. The sum of the exponentials for curves not having a singularity at the start of the process is taken as the creep kernel [1]. A method of approximation by the sum of the exponentials is given. An equation is proposed relating the stress and strain tensors in time for the three-dimensional deformation of linear viscoelastic media whose properties are determined by four parameters. A method is indicated for determining these parameters based on simple creep or relaxation tests. Values of the parameters are given for certain polymer materials. For such materials, there is an upper limit of the stress state below which an equilibrium limit state is possible. A method is proposed for constructing the creep curves of a material whose nonlinear memory properties are described by Rozovskii's nonlinear integral equation [2] (with allowance for the stress dependence of the relaxation time) under given periodic loading from known creep curves recorded at constant stress. In deriving the theoretical relation certain simplifying assumptions are made (the creep strain accumulated in 1–2 cycles is small, no vibration [4–6]). Sufficient conditions are obtained for a Volterra integral equation whose kernel depends on an increasing parameter a to admit an approximation of the identity with respect to a in the form of a resolvent kernel. In this case, the solution of the integral equation tends to zero as a tends to infinity, and we establish estimates of this convergence in L. These results are used for obtaining estimates of the convergence of linear heat-transfer boundary conditions to Dirichlet ones as the heat-transfer coefficient tends to infinity.  相似文献

It is well known in the field of radiative transfer that Sobolev was the first to introduce the resolvent into Milne's integral equation with a displacement kernel. Thereafter it was shown that the resolvent plays an important role in the theory of formation of spectral lines. In the theory of line-transfer problems, the kernel representation in Milne's integral equation has been used to provide an approximate solution in a manner similar to that given by the discrete ordinales method.In this paper, by means of invariant imbedding we show how to determine an exact solution of a Milne-type integral equation with a degenerate kernel, whose form is more general than the Pincherle-Gourast kernel. A Cauchy system for the resolvent is expressed in terms of generalized Sobolev's Φ- and Ψ-functions, which are computed by solving a system of differential equations for auxiliary functions. 利用动态力学分析仪,详细研究了小应力作用下聚氯乙烯(PVC)接近玻璃化转变温度(63℃)时的短期蠕变性能.根据Struik-Kohlrausch (SK)方程及Struik移位方法,分析了物理老化对PVC瞬时蠕变柔量的影响,并提出了基于多松弛机制的新模型定量描述初始蠕变柔量、松弛时间和形状因子.结果表明:SK方程虽可表征不同老化时间下PVC的蠕变性能,但通过Struik移位方法却无法获得理想的主曲线,且初始蠕变柔量、松弛时间、形状因子和蠕变率均受物理老化显著影响,并在双对数坐标下随老化时间呈明显的非线性变化;新模型不仅揭示了物理老化控制参量的演化规律,而且极好地预测了PVC在物理老化进程中的高温蠕变行为.  相似文献

A convergence theorem is established for a method of solving Fredholm integral equations due to Kalabaet al. To do this, an interpolation procedure is developed for obtaining an approximation of the resolvent kernel. The steady-state equation for N-group neutron transport in slab geometry is written as an integral equation. A spectral analysis is made of the integral operator and related to the criticality problem. The method depends on a representation for the resolvent kernel for a subcritical slab and on analytic continuation in a complex parameter to characterize eigenvalues in terms of singularities of the resolvent. The analytic continuation is based on a bifurcation analysis of some nonlinear matrix integral equations whose solutions provide a matrix Wiener-Hopf factorization of the Fourier transform of the kernel of the transport operator.  相似文献

The creep and long-time strength in interlaminar shear and the creep in compression in the direction of the reinforcement have been experimentally investigated for certain types of oriented glass-reinforced plastics. The specimens in the interlaminar creep tests took the form of short beams loaded in bending. The experimental creep data for shear and compression are well described by the hereditary theory with a kernel of the Abel type (shear) or in the form of a Rabotnov function (compression). If the stresses are constant in time, good agreement with experiment is also given by Findley's form of the aging theory. A deformation criterion of interlaminar shear strength is also obtained. The purpose of this paper is to introduce a new system of generalized resolvent equations with corresponding system of variational inclusions in uniformly smooth Banach spaces. We establish an equivalence relation between system of generalized resolvent equations and system of variational inclusions. The iterative algorithms for finding the approximate solutions of system of generalized resolvent equations are proposed. We consider a scalar fractional differential equation, write it as an integral equation, and construct several Lyapunov functionals yielding qualitative results about the solution. It turns out that the kernel is convex with a singularity and it is also completely monotone, as is the resolvent kernel. While the kernel is not integrable, the resolvent kernel is positive and integrable with an integral value of one. These kernels give rise to essentially different types of Lyapunov functionals. It is to be stressed that the Lyapunov functionals are explicitly given in terms of known functions and they are differentiated using Leibniz’s rule. The results are readily accessible to anyone with a background of elementary calculus.  相似文献

This paper studies resolvent convergence and spectral approximations of sequences of self-adjoint subspaces (relations) in complex Hilbert spaces. Concepts of strong resolvent convergence, norm resolvent convergence, spectral inclusion, and spectral exactness are introduced. Fundamental properties of resolvents of subspaces are studied. By applying these properties, several equivalent and sufficient conditions for convergence of sequences of self-adjoint subspaces in the strong and norm resolvent senses are given. It is shown that a sequence of self-adjoint subspaces is spectrally inclusive under the strong resolvent convergence and spectrally exact under the norm resolvent convergence. A sufficient condition is given for spectral exactness of a sequence of self-adjoint subspaces in an open interval lacking essential spectral points. In addition, criteria are established for spectral inclusion and spectral exactness of a sequence of self-adjoint subspaces that are defined on proper closed subspaces.  相似文献

In this paper we study the asymptotic behavior of the resolvent of a Volterra linear integral equation whose difference kernel is nonsummable. For a certain class of such kernels the equation is reducible to an equation whose difference kernel is summable. This enables one to use the well-known results on the structure of resolvents of summable kernels in the case of a nonsummable kernel. The determination of confidence intervals of deformations was studied for an individual measurement and arithmetical mean common for all points of an experimental family of curves. From the experimental data on the creep of polyamide resin and five different analytical equations of physically nonlinear creep, the problems of the computer approximation of families of creep curves and the determination of the material parameters are discussed. The convergence of spectra via two-scale convergence for double-porosity models is well known. A crucial assumption in these works is that the stiff component of the body forms a connected set. We show that under a relaxation of this assumption the (periodic) two-scale limit of the operator is insufficient to capture the full asymptotic spectral properties of high-contrast periodic media. Asymptotically, waves of all periods (or quasi-momenta) are shown to persist and an appropriate extension of the notion of two-scale convergence is introduced. As a result, homogenised limit equations with none trivial quasi-momentum dependence are found as resolvent limits of the original operator family. This results in asymptotic spectral behaviour with a rich dependence on quasimomenta.  相似文献

Summary In a recent paper we derived a stability criterion for a Volterra equation which is based on the contraction mapping principle. It turns out that this criterion has significantly wider application. In particular, when we use Becker’s form of the resolvent it readily establishes critical resolvent properties which have been very illusive when investigated by other techniques. First, it enables us to show that the resolvent is L1. Next, it allows us to show that the resolvent satisfies a uniform bound and that it tends to zero. These properties are then used to prove boundedness of solutions of a nonlinear problem, establish the existence of periodic solutions of a linear problem, and to investigate asymptotic stability properties. We also apply the results to a Liénard equation with distributed delay and possibly negative damping so that relaxation oscillations may occur.  相似文献
