In this paper, a delayed neural network model with unidirectional coupling is considered. Zero–Hopf bifurcation is studied by using the center manifold reduction and the normal form method for retarded functional differential equation. We get the versal unfolding of the norm form at the zero–Hopf singularity and show that the model can exhibit pitchfork, Hopf bifurcation, and double Hopf bifurcation is also found to occur in this model. Some numerical simulations are given to support the analytic results.  相似文献

We investigate the effect of delayed feedbacks on the financial model, which describes the time variation of the interest rate, the investment demand, and the price index, for establishing the fiscal policy. By local stability analysis, we theoretically prove the occurrences of Hopf bifurcation. Through numerical bifurcation analysis, we obtain the supercritical and subcritical Hopf bifurcation curves which support the theoretical predictions. Moreover, the fold limit cycle and Neimark–Sacker bifurcation curves are detected. We also confirm that the double Hopf and generalized Hopf codimension-2 bifurcation points exist.  相似文献

The stability and bifurcation of a van der Pol-Duffing oscillator with the delay feedback are investigated, in which the strength of feedback control is a nonlinear function of delay. A geometrical method in conjunction with an analytical method is developed to identify the critical values for stability switches and Hopf bifurcations. The Hopf bifurcation curves and multi-stable regions are obtained as two parameters vary. Some weak resonant and non-resonant double Hopf bifurcation phenomena are observed due to the vanishing of the real parts of two pairs of characteristic roots on the margins of the “death island” regions simultaneously. By applying the center manifold theory, the normal forms near the double Hopf bifurcation points, as well as classifications of local dynamics are analyzed. Furthermore, some quasi-periodic and chaotic motions are verified in both theoretical and numerical ways.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the stability of equilibria, Hopf and double Hopf bifurcation in Liu system with delay feedback. Firstly, we identify the critical values for stability switches and Hopf bifurcationusing the method of bifurcation analysis. When we choose appropriate feedback strength and delay, two symmetrical nontrivial equilibria of Liusystem can be controlled to be stable at the same time, and the stable bifurcating periodic solutions occur in the neighborhood of the two equilibria at the same time. Secondly, by applying the normal form method and center manifold theory, the normal form near the double Hopf bifurcation, as well as classifications of local dynamics are analyzed. Furthermore, we give the bifurcation diagram to illustrate numerically that a family of stable periodic solutions bifurcated from Hopf bifurcation occur in a large region of delay and the Liu system with delay can appear the phenomenon of ``chaos switchover''.  相似文献

A vibratory system having symmetrically placed rigid stops and subjected to periodic excitation is considered. Local codimension two bifurcations of the vibratory system with symmetrical rigid stops, associated with double Hopf bifurcation and interaction of Hopf and pitchfork bifurcation, are analyzed by using the center manifold theorem technique and normal form method of maps. Dynamic behavior of the system, near the points of codimension two bifurcations, is investigated by using qualitative analysis and numerical simulation. Hopf-flip bifurcation of fixed points in the vibratory system with a single stop are briefly analyzed by comparison with unfoldings analyses of Hopf-pitchfork bifurcation of the vibratory system with symmetrical rigid stops. Near the value of double Hopf bifurcation there exist period-one double-impact symmetrical motion and quasi-periodic impact motions. The quasi-periodic impact motions are represented by the closed circle and “tire-like” attractor in projected Poincaré sections. With change of system parameters, the quasi-periodic impact motions usually lead to chaos via “tire-like” torus doubling.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with an autocatalysis model subject to no-flux boundary conditions. The existence of Hopf bifurcation are firstly obtained. Then by the center manifold theory and the normal form method, the direction of Hopf bifurcation and the stability of spatially homogeneous and inhomogeneous periodic solutions are established. On the other hand, the steady-state bifurcations from simple and double eigenvalues are intensively studied. The techniques of space decomposition and implicit function theorem are adopted to deal with the case of double eigenvalues. Finally, some numerical simulations are shown to verify the analytical results.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the dynamical behaviors of a three-node recurrent neural network model with four discrete time delays. We study several types of bifurcation, and use the method of multiple time scales to derive the normal forms associated with Hopf-zero bifurcation, non-resonant and resonant double Hopf bifurcations. Moreover, bifurcations are classified in two-dimensional parameter space near these critical points, and numerical simulations are presented to demonstrate the applicability of the theoretical results.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss the stability and bifurcation of the distributed delays Cohen–Grossberg neural networks with two neurons. By choosing the average delay as a bifurcation parameter, we prove that Hopf bifurcation occurs. The stability of bifurcating periodic solutions and the direction of Hopf bifurcation are determined by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. Finally, numerical simulation results are given to support the theoretical predictions.  相似文献

In this paper, a simplified congestion control model is considered to study the quasiperiodic motion induced by heterogenous time delays. Analysis for the stability of the equilibrium shows that the Hopf bifurcation curves with diverse frequencies may intersect at the so-called non-resonant double Hopf bifurcation point. Choosing the delays as the bifurcation parameters and employing the method of multiple scales, the amplitude–frequency equations or normal form equations are obtained theoretically. Based on these equations, the dynamics near the bifurcation point is classified. The values of the delays for which the quasiperiodic motion exists can be predicted with an acceptable accuracy. This result provides a reference in designing and optimizing the network systems.  相似文献

Sufficient conditions of bifurcation stated in Arutyunov et al. (2009) [5] are investigated in order to reconsider celebrated Hopf bifurcation as the simplest bifurcation of Fredholm operators of zero index. In several examples abstract result is applied to both finite and infinite dynamical systems exhibiting classical Hopf bifurcation as well as double Hopf bifurcation.  相似文献

The normal form of a vector field generated by scalar delay-differential equations at nonresonant double Hopf bifurcation points is investigated. Using the methods developed by Faria and Magalhães (J. Differential Equations 122 (1995) 181) we show that (1) there exists linearly independent unfolding parameters of classes of delay-differential equations for a double Hopf point which generically map to linearly independent unfolding parameters of the normal form equations (ordinary differential equations), (2) there are generically no restrictions on the possible flows near a double Hopf point for both general and -symmetric first-order scalar equations with two delays in the nonlinearity, and (3) there always are restrictions on the possible flows near a double Hopf point for first-order scalar delay-differential equations with one delay in the nonlinearity, and in nth-order scalar delay-differential equations (n?2) with one delay feedback.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigated Hopf bifurcation by analyzing the distributed ranges of eigenvalues of characteristic linearized equation. Using communication delay as the bifurcation parameter, linear stability criteria dependent on communication delay have also been derived, and, furthermore, the direction of Hopf bifurcation as well as stability of periodic solution for the exponential RED algorithm with communication delay is studied. We find that the Hopf bifurcation occurs when the communication delay passes a sequence of critical values. The stability and direction of the Hopf bifurcation are determined by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. Finally, a numerical simulation is presented to verify the theoretical results.  相似文献

A single-species population model is investigated in this paper. Firstly, we study the existence of Hopf bifurcation at the positive equilibrium. Furthermore, an explicit algorithm for determining the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and stability of the bifurcation periodic solutions are derived by using the normal form and the center manifold theory. At last, numerical simulations to support the analytical conclusions are carried out.  相似文献

We consider a delayed predator-prey system. We first consider the existence of local Hopf bifurcations, and then derive explicit formulas which enable us to determine the stability and the direction of periodic solutions bifurcating from Hopf bifurcations, using the normal form theory and center manifold argument. Special attention is paid to the global existence of periodic solutions bifurcating from Hopf bifurcations. By using a global Hopf bifurcation result due to Wu [Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 350 (1998) 4799], we show that the local Hopf bifurcation implies the global Hopf bifurcation after the second critical value of delay. Finally, several numerical simulations supporting the theoretical analysis are also given.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the dynamics of a delayed diffusive predator-prey model with herd behavior and hyperbolic mortality under Neumann boundary conditions. Firstly, by analyzing the characteristic equations in detail and taking the delay as a bifurcation parameter, the stability of the positive equilibria and the existence of Hopf bifurcations induced by delay are investigated. Then, applying the normal form theory and the center manifold argument for partial functional differential equations, the formula determining the properties of the Hopf bifurcation are obtained. Finally, some numerical simulations are also carried out and we obtain the unstable spatial periodic solutions, which are induced by the subcritical Hopf bifurcation.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the stability and Hopf bifurcation of a diffusive predator-prey system with herd behaviour. The model is described by introducing both time delay and nonlocal prey intraspecific competition. Compared to the model without time delay, or without nonlocal competition, thanks to the together action of time delay and nonlocal competition, we prove that the first critical value of Hopf bifurcation may be homogenous or non-homogeneous. We also show that a double-Hopf bifurcation occurs at the intersection point of the homogenous and non-homogeneous Hopf bifurcation curves. Furthermore, by the computation of normal forms for the system near equilibria, we investigate the stability and direction of Hopf bifurcation. Numerical simulations also show that the spatially homogeneous and non-homogeneous periodic patters.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a predator–prey system with Holling II functional response and hunting delay and gestation. By regarding the sum of delays as the bifurcation parameter, the local stability of the positive equilibrium and the existence of Hopf bifurcation are investigated. We obtained explicit formulas to determine the properties of Hopf bifurcation by using the normal form method and center manifold theorem. Special attention is paid to the global continuation of local Hopf bifurcation. Using a global Hopf bifurcation result of Wu [Wu JH. Symmetric functional differential equations and neural networks with memory, Trans Amer Math Soc 1998;350:4799–4838] for functional differential equations, we may show the global existence of the periodic solutions. Finally, several numerical simulations illustrating the theoretical analysis are also given.  相似文献

In this paper, we studied a diffusive predator-prey model with a functional response increasing in both predator and prey densities. The Turing instability and local stability are studied by analyzing the eigenvalue spectrum. Delay induced Hopf bifurcation is investigated by using time delay as bifurcation parameter. Some conditions for determining the property of Hopf bifurcation are obtained by utilizing the normal form method and center manifold reduction for partial functional differential equation.  相似文献
