作为Bernstein多项式的推广,本文定义单纯形上的多元Stancu多项式.以最佳多项式逼近为度量,建立Stancu多项式对连续函数的逼近定理与逼近阶估计,给出Stancu多项式的一个逼近逆定理,从而用最佳多项式逼近刻划Stancu多项式的逼近特征.  相似文献

研究了球面带型平移网络逼近阶用球面调和多项式的最佳逼近及光滑模的刻画问题.借助于球调和多项式的最佳逼近多项式和Riesz平均构造出了单位球面Sq上的带形平移网络,并建立了球面带形平移网络对Lp(Sq)中函数一致逼近的Jackson型定理.所得结果表明球面带形平移网络可以达到球调和多项式的逼近阶.  相似文献

In this paper, we prove some basic results concerning the best approximation of vector-valued functions by algebraic and trigonometric polynomials with coefficients in normed spaces, called generalized polynomials. Thus we obtain direct and inverse theorems for the best approximation by generalized polynomials and results concerning the existence (and uniqueness) of best approximation generalized polynomials. This paper was written during the 2005 Spring Semester when the second author (S.G. Gal) was a Visiting Professor at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, The University of Memphis, TN, USA. After proving a generalized version of Garkavi's theorem, we give as applications proofs of existence results on best approximation by polynomials, and fractional linear and holomorphic operators between Banach spaces. We also obtain theorems on best approximation by some types of rational functions defined in open subsets of Banach spaces. By considering a natural non-normable distance we prove that every mapping bounded on the bounded subsets of a Banach space has best approximation by polynomials of degree less than or equal to a fixed natural number n.  相似文献

An asymptotics of the error of interpolation of real constants at Chebyshev nodes is obtained. Some well-known estimates of the best approximation by simple partial fractions (logarithmic derivatives of algebraic polynomials) of real constants in the closed interval [?1, 1] and complex constants in the unit disk are refined. As a consequence, new estimates of the best approximation of real polynomials on closed intervals of the real axis and of complex polynomials on arbitrary compact sets are obtained.

We consider inequalities of the Jackson type in the case of approximation of periodic functions by linear means of their Fourier series in the space L 2. In solving this problem, we choose the integral of the square of the modulus of continuity as a majorant of the square of the deviation. We establish that the constants for the Fejér and Rogosinski polynomials coincide with the constant of the best approximation, whereas the constant for the Korovkin polynomials is greater than the constant of the best approximation.  相似文献

In the paper, problems of approximation of functions indicated in the title are studied in the case when a majorant of their mixed modulus of continuity is given. Two forms of approximation (linear and nonlinear) are considered: the classical linear approximation by polynomials with respect to the Haar system when the indices lie in hyperbolic crosses; and the best M-term approximation by polynomials also with respect to the Haar system. The rate of best polynomial approximation of an analytic function on a compact Faber set K is characterized in terms of the rate of growth of its Faber coefficients and compared with the rate of approximation by the partial sums of the Faber series. Also the convergence of sequences of interpolating polynomials constructed for various systems of nodes is studied by considering the growth of the interpolated function. Under appropriate assumptions on K the approximation by interpolating polynomials can be incorporated in the characterization theorem. A new modulus of smoothness based on the Euler angles is introduced on the unit sphere and is shown to satisfy all the usual characteristic properties of moduli of smoothness, including direct and inverse theorem for the best approximation by polynomials and its equivalence to a K-functional, defined via partial derivatives in Euler angles. The set of results on the moduli on the sphere serves as a basis for defining new moduli of smoothness and their corresponding K-functionals on the unit ball, which are used to characterize the best approximation by polynomials on the ball.  相似文献

This paper gives a general characterization theorem of a best uniform approximation of generalized polynomial having multiple restricted ranges of its derivatives. This theorem is widely applicable. In this paper, we obtain an extension of the Pólya inequality for univariate real polynomials in L p spaces and new estimates for certain class of measurable sets.
