We introduce several associative algebras and families of vector spaces associated to these algebras. Using lattice vertex operators, we obtain dimension and character formulae for these spaces. In particular, we define a family of representations of symmetric groups which turn out to be isomorphic to parking function modules. We also construct families of vector spaces whose dimensions are Catalan numbers and Fuss–Catalan numbers respectively. Conjecturally, these spaces are related to spaces of global sections of vector bundles on (zero fibres of) Hilbert schemes and representations of rational Cherednik algebras.   相似文献

Stochastic arithmetic involving addition and multiplication by scalars is studied with an emphasis on the abstract structure of the set of stochastic numbers. New properties of stochastic numbers are obtained such as a special distributivity relation corresponding to the second distributivity law in a vector space. This allows us to introduce algebraic systems abstracting properties of stochastic numbers, with respect to addition and multiplication by scalars. We define axiomatically such systems with group structure and give them a complete characterization in the finite dimensional case. This permits to reduce computation with stochastic numbers to computation in familiar vector spaces.  相似文献

In this study, the estimates of approximation numbers of embedding operators in weighted spaces have been analyzed. These estimates depend on orders of differential operators, dimensions of function spaces and weighted functions. This fact implies that the associated embedding operators belong to Schatten class of compact operators. By using these estimates, the discreetness of spectrum and completion of root elements relating to principal nonselfedjoint degenerate differential operators is obtained.  相似文献

We develop a theory of symplectic cobordism and a Duistermaat-Heckman principle for Hamiltonian loop group actions. As an application, we construct a symplectic cobordism between moduli spaces of flat connections on the three holed sphere and disjoint unions of toric varieties. This cobordism yields formulas for the mixed Pontrjagin numbers of the moduli spaces, equivalent to Witten's formulas in the case of symplectic volumes. Received June 15, 1998  相似文献

A functor is constructed from the category of graphs and graph homomorphisms to the category of spaces with involutions and equivariant homotopy classes of maps. This can sometimes be used to prove lower bounds on chromatic numbers, and was inspired by Lovász's proof of Kneser's conjecture. Ortholattices occur as an intermediate step between graphs and spaces, and the correspondence between graphs and ortholattices is analyzed.  相似文献

In this paper we study the role of cleavability and divisibility in the topology of generalized ordered (GO-)spaces. We characterize cleavability of a GO-space over the class of metrizable spaces, and over the spaces of irrational and rational numbers. In this paper, the author establishes the embedding theorems for different metrics of inhomoge-neous Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces on spaces of homogeneous type. As an application, the author obtains some estimates for the entropy numbers of the embeddings in the limiting cases between some Besov spaces and some logarithmic Lebesgue spaces.  相似文献

Furthermore we derive inequalities between eigenvalues and entropy numbers for operators acting on a Banach space. We show that the asymptotic behavior of the partial sums of a sequence of positive numbers determine the local behavior of the Hilbert space of Dirichlet series defined using these as weights. This extends results recently obtained describing the local behavior of Dirichlet series with square summable coefficients in terms of local integrability, boundary behavior, Carleson measures and interpolating sequences. As these spaces can be identified with functions spaces on the infinite-dimensional polydisk, this gives new results on the Dirichlet and Bergman spaces on the infinite-dimensional polydisk, as well as the scale of Besov-Sobolev spaces containing the Drury-Arveson space on the infinite-dimensional unit ball. We use both techniques from the theory of sampling in Paley-Wiener spaces, and classical results from analytic number theory.  相似文献

In the rational plane there exist bounded segmentally closed convex bodies with no support lines. This and other examples exhibited in this paper show that in vector spaces over non-complete ordered fields support hyperplanes of convex sets behave in a way very different from the way they behave in vector spaces over the field of real numbers.This paper was written during 1987 while the author, on leave from the University of Zagreb, was visiting the University of Washington in Seattle.  相似文献

We consider the Hamming space of periodic (0, 1)-sequences and a continual family of its subspaces defined as direct limits of finite Hamming spaces. These subspaces form a complete lattice under inclusion which is isomorphic to the lattice of supernatural numbers. We explicitly describe the isometry groups of these spaces. This involves certain constructions similar to the hyperoctahedral groups but accounting for additional structures on the underlying sets.  相似文献
