Ground state solution on a Kirchhoff type equation involving two potentials

With the help of the Nehari manifold, a Kirchhoff type equation involving two potentials was considered. Under new assumptions, a ground state solution was obtained.

对任意正整数n,我们定义a(n)为n的平方补数,即a(n)表示能够使na(n)为完全平方数的最小正整数.本文的主要目的是利用初等方法研究方程a(n1)+a(n2)+…+a(nk)=m·a(n1+n2+…+nk)的可解性,并证明对某些特殊的正整数m及任意正整数k>1,该方程有无穷多组正整数解(n1,n2,…,nk).     

An indefinite concave-convex equation under a Neumann boundary condition I

We investigate the problem (P _λ) ?Δu = λb(x)|u| ^q?2 u + a(x)|u| ^p?2 u in Ω, ?u/?n = 0 on ?Ω, where Ω is a bounded smooth domain in R ^N (N ≥ 2), 1 < q < 2 < p, λ ∈ R, and a, b ∈ \({C^\alpha }\left( {\overline \Omega } \right)\) with 0 < α < 1. Under certain indefinite type conditions on a and b, we prove the existence of two nontrivial nonnegative solutions for small |λ|. We then characterize the asymptotic profiles of these solutions as λ → 0, which in some cases implies the positivity and ordering of these solutions. In addition, this asymptotic analysis suggests the existence of a loop type component in the non-negative solutions set. We prove the existence of such a component in certain cases, via a bifurcation and a topological analysis of a regularized version of (P _λ).

A strongly degenerate system involving an equation of parabolic type and an equation of elliptic type

Abstract

We show the existence of weak solutions in an elliptic region in the self-similar plane to the two-dimensional Riemann problem for the pressure-gradient system of the compressible Euler system. The two-dimensional Riemann problem we study is the interaction of two forward rarefaction waves, which are adjacent to a common vacuum that occupies a sectorial domain of 90 degrees. We assume the origin is on the boundary of the domain. In addition, the domain is open, bounded, and simply connected with a piecewise C ^2,α boundary. We resolve the difficulty that arises from the fact that the origin is on the boundary of the domain.     

Small perturbations of an indefinite elliptic equation

We investigate a perturbed semilinear indefinite elliptic equation and show that the results known for the unperturbed equation still hold if the perturbation is sufficiently small. To this end, we use a continuity argument that allows us to establish the existence of two positive solutions even in the case where the strong maximum principle does not apply.     

An equation of Lyapunov type

A new method of finding explicit solutions of Lyapunov equations is described based on a lemma on one-dimensional perturbations of invertible operators. If Y satisfies the equation $\text{Y?CYC}{}^1\text{= bb}{}^1$ for an appropriate vector b, then X = Y^-1 satisfies $\text{X? C}{}^1\text{XC = aa}{}^1$ for a given vector a. A concrete example [with a=(1,0,…,0)^T] is given.     

The eikonal equation of an indefinite metric

The concept of a semi-Riemannian map is introduced and it is shown that such maps are solutions of the eikonal equation. Also the existence of solutions to the eikonal equation are discussed and their relation to the Laplace-Beltrami equation is investigated.Supported by the project TBAG-CG2, Tübitak, Turkey.     

An integral equation involving generalized Rice’s polynomials

The solution of an integral equation involving generalized. Rice’s polynomials is obtained by the application of the Rodrigue’s formula.     

An integral equation of convolution type with two kernels and its abstract analog

We consider an integral equation of the convolution type with two kernels, generated by functions from some Banach algebras, and a linear equation with two coefficients in abstract rings with factorial pairs of sub-rings. Theorems and formulas have been proved, characterizing the general relation of the solvability problem of the equations with the factorization properties of elements constructed from the kernels and coefficients.Translated from Ukrainskii Matematicheskii Zhurnal, Vol. 44, No. 8, pp. 1065–1078, August, 1992.
