This is a note on a paper of De Simoi–Kaloshin–Wei. We show that by combining their techniques with the wave trace invariants of Guillemin–Melrose and the heat trace invariants of Zayed for the Laplacian with Robin boundary conditions, one can extend the Dirichlet/Neumann spectral rigidity results of De Simoi–Kaloshin–Wei to the case of Robin boundary conditions. We will consider the same generic subset as did by De Simoi–Kaloshin–Wei of smooth strictly convex ?2-symmetric planar domains sufficiently close to a circle, however we pair them with arbitrary ?2-symmetric smooth Robin functions on the boundary and of course allow deformations of Robin functions as well.  相似文献

The main purpose of this paper is to establish the existence of multiple solutions for quasilinear elliptic equation with Robin boundary condition involving the critical Sobolev–Hardy exponents. It is shown, by means of variational methods, that under certain conditions, the existence of nontrivial solutions are obtained. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We consider a nonlocal problem involving the fractional Laplacian and the Hardy potential in bounded smooth domains. Exploiting the moving plane method and some weak and strong comparison principles, we deduce symmetry and monotonicity properties of positive solutions under zero Dirichlet boundary conditions.  相似文献

We investigate the long term behavior in terms of finite dimensional global and exponential attractors, as time goes to infinity, of solutions to a semilinear reaction–diffusion equation on non-smooth domains subject to nonlocal Robin boundary conditions, characterized by the presence of fractional diffusion on the boundary. Our results are of general character and apply to a large class of irregular domains, including domains whose boundary is Hölder continuous and domains which have fractal-like geometry. In addition to recovering most of the existing results on existence, regularity, uniqueness, stability, attractor existence, and dimension, for the well-known reaction–diffusion equation in smooth domains, the framework we develop also makes possible a number of new results for all diffusion models in other non-smooth settings.  相似文献

We show that usual second order operators in divergence form satisfy coercivity on Lipschitz domains if they are either complemented with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions on a set of non-zero boundary measure or if a suitable Robin boundary condition is posed. Moreover, we prove the positivity of solutions in a general, abstract setting, provided that the right hand side is a positive functional. Finally, positive elements from W −1,2 are identified as positive measures.  相似文献

It is proved that elliptic boundary value problems in divergence form can be written in many equivalent forms. This is used to prove regularity properties and maximum principles for problems with Robin boundary conditions with negative or indefinite boundary coefficient on Lipschitz domains by rewriting them as a problem with positive coefficient. It is also shown that such methods cannot be applied to domains with an outward pointing cusp. Applications to the regularity of the harmonic Steklov eigenfunctions on Lipschitz domains are given. We investigate a class of quasi-linear elliptic and parabolic anisotropic problems with variable exponents over a general class of bounded non-smooth domains, which may include non-Lipschitz domains, such as domains with fractal boundary and rough domains. We obtain solvability and global regularity results for both the elliptic and parabolic Robin problem. Some a priori estimates, as well as fine properties for the corresponding nonlinear semigroups, are established. As a consequence, we generalize the global regularity theory for the Robin problem over non-smooth domains by extending it for the first time to the variable exponent case, and furthermore, to the anisotropic variable exponent case.  相似文献

We classify positive solutions to a class of quasilinear equations with Neumann or Robin boundary conditions in convex domains. Our main tool is an integral formula involving the trace of some relevant quantities for the problem.Under a suitable condition on the nonlinearity, a relevant consequence of our results is that we can extend to weak solutions a celebrated result obtained for stable solutions by Casten and Holland and by Matano.  相似文献

We consider the principal eigenvalue of generalised Robin boundary value problems on non-smooth domains, where the zero order coefficient of the boundary operator is negative or changes sign. We provide conditions so that the related eigenvalue problem has a principal eigenvalue. We work with the framework involving measure data on the boundary due to Arendt and Warma (Potential Anal 19:341–363, 2003). Examples of simple domains with cusps are used to illustrate all possible phenomena.  相似文献

In this paper, we describe a layer potential analysis in order to show an existence result for an interface boundary value problem of Robin‐transmission type for the Stokes and Brinkman systems on Lipschitz domains in Euclidean setting, when the given boundary data belong to some Lp or Sobolev spaces associated to such domains. Applications related to an exterior three‐dimensional Stokes flow past two concentric porous spheres with stress jump conditions on the fluid‐porous interface are also considered. We study Schrödinger operators with Robin boundary conditions on exterior domains in ? d . We prove sharp point-wise estimates for the associated semigroups which show, in particular, how the boundary conditions affect the time decay of the heat kernel in dimensions one and two. Applications to spectral estimates are discussed as well.  相似文献

We consider a magnetic Schrödinger operator in a planar infinite strip with frequently and non-periodically alternating Dirichlet and Robin boundary conditions. Assuming that the homogenized boundary condition is the Dirichlet or the Robin one, we establish the uniform resolvent convergence in various operator norms and we prove the estimates for the rates of convergence. It is shown that these estimates can be improved by using special boundary correctors. In the case of periodic alternation, pure Laplacian, and the homogenized Robin boundary condition, we construct two-terms asymptotics for the first band functions, as well as the complete asymptotics expansion (up to an exponentially small term) for the bottom of the band spectrum.  相似文献

We study the solution to the Robin boundary problem for theLaplacian in a Euclidean domain. We present some families offractal domains where the infimum of the solution to the mixedDirichlet–Robin boundary problem is greater than 0, andsome other families of domains where it is equal to 0. We alsogive a new result on ‘trap domains’ defined in Burdzy,Chen and Marshall (Math. Z.), that is, domains where reflectingBrownian motion takes a long time to reach the center of thedomain.  相似文献

We give a simple proof of the Faber–Krahn inequality for the first eigenvalue of the p-Laplace operator with Robin boundary conditions. The techniques introduced allow to work with much less regular domains by using test function arguments. We substantially simplify earlier proofs, and establish the sharpness of the inequality for a larger class of domains at the same time.  相似文献

The eigenvalue problem for the p-Laplace operator with Robin boundary conditions is considered in this paper.A Faber-Krahn type inequality is proved.More precisely,it is shown that amongst all the domains of fixed volume, the ball has the smallest first eigenvalue.  相似文献

We introduce a notion of weak isospectrality for continuous deformations. Consider the Laplace–Beltrami operator on a compact Riemannian manifold with Robin boundary conditions. Given a Kronecker invariant torus Λ of the billiard ball map with a Diophantine vector of rotation we prove that certain integrals on Λ involving the function in the Robin boundary conditions remain constant under weak isospectral deformations. To this end we construct continuous families of quasimodes associated with Λ. We obtain also isospectral invariants of the Laplacian with a real-valued potential on a compact manifold for continuous deformations of the potential. These invariants are obtained from the first Birkhoff invariant of the microlocal monodromy operator associated to Λ. As an application we prove spectral rigidity of the Robin boundary conditions in the case of Liouville billiard tables of dimension two in the presence of a (?/2?)2 group of symmetries.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the conductivity problem with piecewise‐constant conductivity and Robin‐type boundary condition on the interface of discontinuity. When the quantity of interest is the jump of the conductivity, we perform a local stability estimate for a parameterized non‐monotone family of domains. We give also a quantitative stability result of local optimal solution with respect to a perturbation of the Robin parameter. In order to find an optimal solution, we propose a Kohn–Vogelius‐type cost functional over a class of admissible domains subject to two boundary values problems. The analysis of the stability involves the computation of first‐order and second‐order shape derivative of the proposed cost functional, which is performed rigorously by means of shape‐Lagrangian formulation without using the shape sensitivity of the states variables. © 2016 The Author. We develop a theory of generalised solutions for elliptic boundary value problems subject to Robin boundary conditions on arbitrary domains, which resembles in many ways that of the Dirichlet problem. In particular, we establish --estimates which turn out to be the best possible in that framework. We also discuss consequences to the spectrum of Robin boundary value problems. Finally, we apply the theory to parabolic equations.
