We consider a wave equation with semilinear porous acoustic boundary conditions. This is a coupled system of second and first order in time partial differential equations, with possibly semilinear boundary conditions on the interface. The results obtained are (i) strong stability for the linear model, (ii) exponential decay rates for the energy of the linear model, and (iii) local exponential decay rates for the energy of the semilinear model. This work builds on a previous result showing generation of a well-posed dynamical system. The main tools used in the proofs are (i) the Stability Theorem of Arendt-Batty, (ii) energy methods used in the study of a wave equation with boundary damping, and (iii) an abstract result of I. Lasiecka applicable to hyperbolic-like systems with nonlinearly perturbed boundary conditions.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the wave equation on a bounded domain with mixed Dirichlet-impedance type boundary conditions coupled with oscillators on the Neumann boundary. The system has either a delay in the pressure term of the wave component or the velocity of the oscillator component. Using the velocity as a boundary feedback it is shown that if the delay factor is less than that of the damping factor then the energy of the solutions decays to zero exponentially. The results are based on the energy method, a compactness-uniqueness argument and an appropriate weighted trace estimate. In the critical case where the damping and delay factors are equal, it is shown using variational methods that the energy decays to zero asymptotically.  相似文献

In this paper, we analyze from the mathematical point of view a model for small vertical vibrations of an elastic string with weak internal damping and quadratic term, coupled with mixed boundary conditions of Dirichlet type and acoustic type. Our goal is to extend some of the results of Frota‐Goldstein work in the sense of considering a weaker internal damping and one more quadratic nonlinearity in the elastic string equation. We discuss solvability for the semilinear equation of the vibrating string xtt(t,y)−Δx(t,y)+f(t,y,x(t,y))=0 in a bounded domain, and certain type of nonlinearity on the boundary. To this effect we derive a new dual variational method. Next we discuss stability of solutions with respect to initial conditions.  相似文献

We construct a family of absorbing boundary conditions for the semilinear wave equation. Our principal tool is the paradifferential calculus which enables us to deal with nonlinear terms. We show that the corresponding initial boundary value problems are well posed. We finally present numerical experiments illustrating the efficiency of the method.

We prove the existence and uniqueness of solutions to the initial boundary value problem for a one-dimensional wave equation with unilateral boundary conditions and random noise. We also establish the existence of an invariant measure.

In this paper, we consider a variable-coefficient wave equation with memory type acoustic boundary conditions and a constant time delay in the boundary feedback. Using the Riemannian geometry method, we prove the exponential decay of the system with memory type acoustic boundary conditions and a constant time delay under some suitable assumptions.  相似文献

We consider a variable-coefficient wave equation with nonlinear damped acoustic boundary conditions. Well-posedness in the Hadamard sense for strong and weak solutions is proved by using the theory of nonlinear semigroups.  相似文献

We consider a wave equation with nonlinear acoustic boundary conditions. This is a nonlinearly coupled system of hyperbolic equations modeling an acoustic/structure interaction, with an additional boundary damping term to induce both existence of solutions as well as stability. Using the methods of Lasiecka and Tataru for a wave equation with nonlinear boundary damping, we demonstrate well-posedness and uniform decay rates for solutions in the finite energy space, with the results depending on the relationship between (i) the mass of the structure, (ii) the nonlinear coupling term, and (iii) the size of the nonlinear damping. We also show that solutions (in the linear case) depend continuously on the mass of the structure as it tends to zero, which provides rigorous justification for studying the case where the mass is equal to zero.  相似文献

We consider a structural acoustic wave equation with nonlinear acoustic boundary conditions. This is a coupled system of second and first order in time partial differential equations, with boundary conditions on the interface. We prove wellposedness in the Hadamard sense for strong and weak solutions. The main tool used in the proof is the theory of nonlinear semigroups. We present the system of partial differential equations as a suitable Cauchy problem . Though the operator A is not maximally dissipative we are able to show that it is a translate of a maximally dissipative operator. The obtained semigroup solution is shown to satisfy a suitable variational equality, thus giving weak solutions to the system of PDEs. The results obtained (i) dispel the notion that the model does not generate semigroup solutions, (ii) provide treatment of nonlinear models, and (iii) provide existence of a correct state space which is invariant under the flow-thus showing that physical model under consideration is a dynamical system. The latter is obtained by eliminating compatibility conditions which have been assumed in previous work (on the linear case).  相似文献

In this paper we consider a multi-dimensional wave equation with dynamic boundary conditions, related to the Kelvin–Voigt damping. Global existence and asymptotic stability of solutions starting in a stable set are proved. Blow up for solutions of the problem with linear dynamic boundary conditions with initial data in the unstable set is also obtained.  相似文献

We define an abstract setting to treat wave equations equipped with time‐dependent acoustic boundary conditions on bounded domains of R n . We prove a well‐posedness result and develop a spectral theory which also allows to prove a conjecture proposed in [13]. Concrete problems are also discussed. (© 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. The existence of a global compact attractor is proved. The question on the existence of a Lyapunov functional is studied. The existence of a Lyapunov functional leads to a series of important facts on the structure of the attractor. Bibliography:8 titles. In this paper, we prove the well-posedness of a nonlinear wave equation coupled with boundary conditions of Dirichlet and acoustic type imposed on disjoints open boundary subsets. The proposed nonlinear equation models small vertical vibrations of an elastic medium with weak internal damping and a general nonlinear term. We also prove the exponential decay of the energy associated with the problem. Our results extend the ones obtained in previous results to allow weak internal dampings and removing the dimensional restriction 1 n 4 $$ 1\le n\le 4 $$ . The method we use is based on a finite-dimensional approach by combining the Faedo-Galerkin method with suitable energy estimates and multiplier techniques.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a semilinear weakly damped wave equation equipped with an acoustic boundary condition. The problem can be considered as a system consisting of the wave equation describing the evolution of an unknown function u = u(x, t), ${x\in\Omega}$ in the domain coupled with an ordinary differential equation for an unknown function δ = δ(x, t), ${x\in\Gamma:=\partial\Omega}$ on the boundary. A compatibility condition is also added due to physical reasons. This problem is inspired on a model originally proposed by Beale and Rosencrans (Bull Am Math Soc 80:1276–1278, 1974). The goal of the paper is to analyze the global asymptotic behavior of the solutions. We prove the existence of an absorbing set and of the global attractor in the energy phase space. Furthermore, the regularity properties of the global attractor are investigated. This is a difficult issue since standard techniques based on the use of fractional operators cannot be exploited. We finally prove the existence of an exponential attractor. The analysis is carried out in dependence of two damping coefficients.  相似文献

For a semilinear heat equation we consider a nonlocal boundary problem. On the basis of the solution of a Dirichlet problem for a parabolic equation and Volterra integral equation we establish the well-posedness for the nonlocal problem, which generalizes some recent results.  相似文献
