This paper describes a global optimization design of quasi-optics power combiner of solid-state millimeterwave resonator. It is operated in the frequency range from 50 to 300 GHz using GaAs Gunn diodes. It is shown that sourcearrays containing N2 (N=3,5,...2K+1, where k is positive integer) individual elements. It is very efficient power transfer of energy from the source-array to the fractional power of the fundamental beam mode etc.. The RF output power exceeded the sum of the individual diodes to be threefold to sevenfold. And this data is the global optimization solution.  相似文献

The free running and Q-switched operation of 2 μm Tm:YAG lasers side-pumped by pulse laser diodes were reported. In the free running mode the maximum output energies were 102.5 mJ at 1 Hz and 94.6 mJ at 10 Hz, respectively. With an acousto-optic modulator in the laser resonator, 21 mJ 2 μm Q-switched pulse was obtained, with a pulse width of about 330 ns. The dependences of the output energy and the efficiency on the laser resonator parameters were investigated.  相似文献

抽运光源是光纤拉曼放大器应用于密集波分复用系统的关键技术,设计了一种紧凑型的808nm激光二极管抽运的基于钒酸钇(Nd^3+:YVO4)晶体1342nm固体激光器模块,提出利用上述1342nm固体激光器抽运基于光纤光栅的单级全光纤型拉曼谐振器获得1.4μm激光输出的光纤拉曼激光器,分析了固体激光器的阈值特性、性能优化方法和单级光纤拉曼谐振器的设计方法。上述1342nm固体激光器模块在抽运功率2W时获得了最大655mW的激光输出功率和42.6%的斜率效率,单级拉曼谐振器的1342nm到1.4μm光功率转换斜率效率达75%,在1425nm、1438nm、1455nm和1490nm处的输出功率达到300mW以上。最后给出基于1.4μm光纤拉曼激光器抽运的宽带平坦放大的光纤拉曼放大器的结构参量和性能测试结果。  相似文献

研究了绿光平均功率达84W的高稳定声光调Q全固态激光器。通过理论分析和试验研究,针对KTP热效应以及Nd∶YAG棒的热致双折射效应,设计并优化了谐振腔来压窄脉宽。采用35个20W的高功率LD侧面抽运Nd∶YAG棒和Ⅱ类相位匹配KTP晶体(24℃时相位匹配角为Φ=23.6°,θ=90°,尺寸为7mm×7mm×7mm),采用双声光Q开关,高效平凹结构,实现了高功率内腔倍频激光器的稳定运转;在抽运电流25A时,获得了重复频率为10kHz,脉冲宽度优于45ns,输出功率为84W的高功率、高重频、窄脉宽绿光(532nm)输出,光_光转换效率为14.3%,不稳定度为±3%。  相似文献

It is determined for the structure of the source-array located in inner surface of input quasi-optical resonator operating at frequency 100GHz using Type WT5731 GaAs Gunn diodes made in P.R. A triple-channel bandpass filter with switchable and tunable functions is proposed, which is based on a triple-mode cross resonator. The varactors and switching diodes are loaded at the end of the resonator. Because of the use of switches, resonators have four working states: conventional single-mode, two dual-modes, and one triple-mode. The varactor makes the channel independently adjustable. Finally, a triple-channel bandpass filter with switchable and tunable functions is designed by using two identical triple-mode resonator coupling structures. To solve the problem of whether each channel in the multi-channel filter is independently adjustable, this paper gives a simple and rigorous judgment method, namely rank criterion, which is a necessary and sufficient condition for each channel to be independently adjustable. The method of designing an element variable coupling matrix (EVCM) is adopted, which can not only obtain the desired frequency response through adjustable elements but also help to select resonators and coupling modes in the actual circuit design. The final circuit size of the designed filter is 0.29 λg×0.26 λg. The measured results are in good agreement with the simulation results.  相似文献

EPR spectroscopy has been applied to measure free radicals in vivo; however, respiratory, cardiac, and other movements of living animals are a major source of noise and spectral distortion. Sample motions result in changes in resonator frequency, Q, and coupling. These instabilities limit the applications that can be performed and the quality of data that can be obtained. Therefore, it is of great importance to develop resonators with automatic tuning and automatic coupling capability. We report the development of automatic tuning and automatic coupling provisions for a 750-MHz transversely oriented electric field reentrant resonator using two electronically tunable high Q hyperabrupt varactor diodes and feedback loops. In both moving phantoms and living mice, these automatic coupling control and automatic tuning control provisions resulted in an 8- to 10-fold increase in signal-to-noise ratio.  相似文献

报道了一台高功率内腔倍频全固态Nd∶YAG绿光激光器 ,针对KTP晶体热效应和激光热稳定腔 ,采取了对KTP晶体进行低温冷却的优化措施 ,以便减少KTP晶体的热效应导致的相位失配 ,同时兼顾了Nd∶YAG棒的热致双折射效应和KTP晶体热透镜效应 ,设计了热稳定谐振腔 ;实验中采用 80个 2 0W激光二极管阵列侧面抽运Nd∶YAG棒和Ⅱ类相位匹配KTP晶体 (在 2 7℃时相位匹配角为 =2 3.6° ;θ =90° ,尺寸为 7mm× 7mm× 10mm)内腔倍频技术 ,谐振腔腔长为 5 30mm ,KTP晶体的冷却温度为 4 .3℃ ,抽运电流为 18.3A时 ,实现平均功率达 10 4W、脉冲宽度为 130ns的 5 32nm激光输出 ;其重复频率为 2 0 .7kHz。光光转换效率为 10 .2 %。  相似文献

We propose and demonstrate a simple approach to lower the thermal quenching effect and improve the output power of Cr:LiSAF lasers, which is accomplished by employing two laser rods. The resonator contains two laser rods and is designed by using two ``X' folding cavities in cascade. A tunable laser output of $\sim $ 180\,mW has been achieved with the pump of single-striped laser diodes. Compared with lasers using single gain rod, the laser with dual rods shows less severe thermal effect and increases the output by more than two times.  相似文献

This paper reports on the characterization of a diode-side-pumped CW Nd:YAG laser. A side-pumped configuration with 9 laser diodes is used for the laser. Pump light is directly coupled into the Nd:YAG rod without focusing lenses and the pump light distribution in the Nd:YAG rod was calculated. A maximum output power of 150 W in multimode operation is obtained for a pumping power of 400 W. The optical–optical efficiency is 37%. Output power of the laser under different output couplers, resonator lengths and temperatures of the cooling water have been studied.  相似文献

The automatic frequency control (AFC) circuit in conventional electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectrometers automatically tunes the microwave source to the resonance frequency of the resonator. The circuit works satisfactorily for samples stable enough that the geometric relations in the resonance structure do not change in a significant way. When EPR signals are measured during in vivo experiments with small rodents, however, the distance between the signal source and the surface-coil detector can change rapidly. When a conventional AFC circuit keeps the oscillator tuned to the resonator under those conditions, the resultant frequency change may exceed +/-5 MHz and markedly shift the position of the EPR signal. Such a shift results in unacceptable effects on the spectra, especially when the experimenter is dealing with narrow EPR lines. The animal movement also causes a mismatching of the resonator and the 50-ohm transmission line. Direct results of this mismatching are increased noise; shifts in the position of the baseline; and a high probability of overdriving the signal preamplifier with consequent loss of the EPR signal. We therefore designed, built, and tested a new surface-coil resonator using varactor diodes for tuning the resonance frequency to the fixed frequency oscillator and for capacitive matching of the resonator to the 50-ohm transmission line. The performance of the automatic matching system was tested in vivo by measuring EPR spectra of lithium phthalocyanine implanted in rats. Stability and sensitivity of the spectrometer were evaluated by measuring EPR spectra with and without the use of the automatic matching system. The overall experimental performance of the spectrometer was found to significantly improve during in vivo experiments using the automatic matching system. Excellent matching between the 50-ohm transmission line and the resonator was maintained under all experimental circumstances that were tested. This should allow us now to carry out experiments that previously were not possible.  相似文献

We report the demonstration of electro-optical tunable time delay and advance using a silicon feedback-microring resonator integrated with p-i-n diodes. By controlling the feedback and round-trip phase shifts through the carrier-injection-based free-carrier dispersion effect, we obtain a large dynamic time tuning range (-88 ps to 110 ps) upon dc bias voltage change in the range of few tens of millivolts at a given resonance wavelength. We also demonstrate tunable time delay and advance at different resonance wavelengths within 0.76 nm wavelength range.  相似文献

We study the far-field characteristics of oval-resonator laser diodes made of an GaAs/Al(x)Ga(1-x)As quantum well. The resonator shapes are various oval geometries, thereby probing chaotic and mixed classical dynamics. The far-field pattern shows a pronounced fine structure that strongly depends on the cavity shape. Comparing the experimental data with ray-model simulations for a Fresnel billiard yields convincing agreement for all geometries and reveals the importance of the underlying classical phase space for the lasing characteristics.  相似文献

报道了一种激光二极管(LD)端面泵浦10at%掺杂Yb:YAG激光晶体(4×4×1mm)和Ⅰ类临界相位匹配LBO的腔内倍频全固态绿光激光器.为了克服"绿光问题",采用了两个激光二极管偏振耦合系统.在双路泵浦功率为1.2W时,获得最高功率为40mW525nm的连续基模激光输出.在腔内插入Cr4+:YAG饱和吸收体被动调Q,在泵浦功率为1.2W时,可以获得平均功率为5.2mW,脉冲重复频率为2.44kHz,脉冲宽度为51.5ns,峰值功率为41.7W的515nm脉冲激光输出.输出波长发生变化,而且515nm脉冲激光输出的阈值仅为728mW.  相似文献

We analyze the propagation properties of the beam extracted from a diode pumped ceramic Nd:YAG slab laser adopting a hybrid stable–unstable resonator. Such a resonator produces a beam characterized by an Hermite–Gauss mixture-like distribution in one transverse direction and a hard-edge diffracted distribution on the other transverse direction. The beam propagation parameters Mx2 and My2 are measured for different values of the diodes driving current. We obtain a beam parameter product smaller than 3 mm mrad in both transverse directions and in the whole range of powers, up to an extraction of 220 W in a QCW regime.  相似文献

Unlike usual millimeter-wave(MMW) beam lead mixer, an integrated mixer using packaged diodes with large junction area is designed, and a novel dielectric resonator stabilized microstrip oscillator is given. On these bases, a high performance MMW finline and microstrip hybrid integrated front-end has been developed with minimum double side band noise figure of 4 dB and frequency temperature coefficient of 510 PPm/°C. This paper presents quasi-optics techniques, millimeter techniques and a global optimization method etc techniques. It is a structure of quasi-optics power combiner, that includes a spherical reflection, that the radius of the curvature is R and another one is a hybrid reflector that is called input reflector. The space of the both reflectors is LL. The monolithic source-array is made up of 25 Gunn diodes that are mounted of parallel brass bars that have low thermal resistance. And the bars are fixed on the inner plane surface of the hybrid reflector. The hybrid reflector made up of a plane and a spherical, that the radius of the curvature are R. It is designed that higher fundamental mode power, larger fractional power of fundamental mode power and more combining efficiency of the quasi-optics power combiner.This paper describes an algorithm, which can determine the global optima of the power combiner of solid-state millimeter wave resonator. The global optimization method can determine a neighborhood of the global optima of an objective function and an estimation of the global optima. In the quasi-optical resonator, the objective functions are the fundamental mode power, the fractional power of fundamental mode and the combining efficiency respectively.  相似文献

Sample motion, particularly that of a beating heart, induces baseline noise and spectral distortion on an EPR spectrum. In order to quench motional noise and restore the EPR signal amplitude and line-width, an L-band transverse oriented electric field re-entrant resonator (TERR) was designed and constructed with provisions for automatic tuning control (ATC) and automatic coupling control (ACC) suited for studies of isolated beating rat hearts. Two sets of electronic circuits providing DC biased voltage to two varactor diodes were implemented to electronically adjust coupling and tuning. The resonator has a rectangular cross-sectional sample arm of 25 mm diameter with a Q value of 1100 without sample. Once inserted with lossy aqueous samples of 0.45% NaCl, Q value drops to 400 with a volume of 0.5 ml and 150 with 5 ml. The ATC/ACC functions were tested with a moving phantom and isolated beating rat hearts with the improvement of signal to noise ratio (S/N, peak amplitude of signal over peak amplitude of baseline noise) of 6.7-, and 4 to 6-fold, respectively. With these improvements, EPR imaging could be performed on an isolated beating rat heart. Thus, this TERR resonator with ATC/ACC enables application of EPR spectroscopy and imaging for the measurement and imaging of radical metabolism, redox state, and oxygenation in the isolated beating rat heart.  相似文献

We report a low-threshold continuous-wave Tm:YAG laser that can be excited near 785?nm with low-cost, single-mode AlGaAs laser diodes. Low-threshold operation was achieved using a tightly focused, astigmatically compensated x-cavity containing a 2-mm-thick Tm:YAG crystal with 5?% Tm3+ concentration. Two linearly polarized single-mode diodes operating at 785.8?nm were polarization coupled to end pump the resonator. With a 6?% output coupler, as high as 32?mW of output power could be obtained at 2016?nm with 184?mW of incident pump power. The output could be further tuned in the 1935?C2035?nm range. Slope efficiency measurements indicated that cross-relaxation was very effective at this doping level. With a 2?% output coupler, lasing could be obtained with as low as 32.3?mW of pump power. In the limit of vanishing output coupling, the incident threshold pump power could be reduced to as low as 25?mW. To our knowledge, this is among the lowest lasing thresholds reported to date for continuous-wave, room-temperature thulium lasers.  相似文献
