The notion of a factorization of a group is generalized and a method is presented for obtaining new factorizations from old ones. The results are applied to obtain new fillings of the lattice spaces Z, ZZ and the cube.  相似文献

A family ℱ of cuts of an undirected graphG=(V, E) is known to have the weak MFMC-property if (i) ℱ is the set ofT-cuts for someTV with |T| even, or (ii) ℱ is the set of two-commodity cuts ofG, i.e. cuts separating any two distinguished pairs of vertices ofG, or (iii) ℱ is the set of cuts induced (in a sense) by a ring of subsets of a setTV. In the present work we consider a large class of families of cuts of complete graphs and prove that a family from this class has the MFMC-property if and only if it is one of (i), (ii), (iii).  相似文献

Our aim in this work was to examine the model underpinning the spread of the Rubella virus using the novel derivative called beta‐derivative. The study of the equilibrium points together with the analysis of the disease free equilibrium points was presented. Due to the complexity of the modified equation, we introduced a new operator based on the Sumudu transform. The properties of this operator were proposed and proved in detail. We made used of this operator together with the idea of perturbation method to derive a special solution of the extended model. The stability of the method for solving this model was presented. The uniqueness of the special solution was presented, and numerical simulations were done. On a four-dimensional pseudo-Riemannian manifold with the metric of a stationary model of the Universe, we construct a Riemann-Cartan structure with the automorphism group of maximum dimension. The torsion tensor of this structure is the sum of two parts: semisymmetric, aspiring to geometrization of the spin density of matter, and skew-symmetric, determining the torsion of a spatial section. We give a geometric interpretation of the spatial section torsion. We prove that the maximum dimension of the Lie group of automorphisms of a Riemann-Cartan space-time manifold with a semisymmetric or skewsymmetric connection is seven.  相似文献

The short survey of studies of the asymptotic stability with the help of auxiliary functions (positive definite and nonnegative) whose derivatives are nonpositive by virtue of the equations of perturbed motion and the construction of positive definite Lyapunov functions with negative definite derivatives on the basis of these auxiliary functions is given. The existence of a weak solution is proved for a certain Oldroyd model of motion of a viscoelastic medium that allows for the memory of the system. The proof uses the theory of regular Lagrange flows and a topological approximation method that reduces the posed problem to an operator equation, its ε-regularization in smoother spaces, the use of a priori estimates and a topological degree for the proof of the solvability of the ε-regularized equations, and the passage to the limit as ε → 0.  相似文献

Meta-heuristics are a powerful way to approximately solve hard combinatorial optimization problems. However, for a problem, the quality of results can vary considerably from one instance to another. Understanding such a behaviour is important from a theoretical point of view, but also has practical applications such as for the generation of instances during the evaluation stage of a heuristic.In this paper we propose a new complexity measure for the Quadratic Assignment Problem in the context of metaheuristics based on local search, e.g. simulated annealing. We show how the ruggedness coefficient previously introduced by the authors, in conjunction with the well known concept of dominance, provides important features of the search space explored during a local search algorithm, and gives a rather precise idea of the complexity of an instance for these heuristics. We comment previous experimental studies concerning tabu search methods and genetic algorithms with local search in the light of our complexity measure. New computational results with simulated annealing and taboo search are presented.  相似文献

This paper describes a modification of the kriging method for working with the square root transformation of a spatial random process. We have developed this method for the situation where the spatial process observed is not supposed to be stationary but the assumption is that its square root is a second order stationary spatial random process. Consequently this method is developed for estimating the integral of the process observed and finally some application of the method is given to data from an environmental radioactivity survey.  相似文献

We consider a path-valued process which is a generalization of the classical Brownian snake introduced by Le Gall. More precisely we add a drift term b to the lifetime process, which may depends on the spatial process. Consequently, this introduces a coupling between the lifetime process and the spatial motion. This process can be obtained from the standard Brownian snake by Girsanov's theorem or by killing of the spatial motion. It can also be viewed as the limit of discrete snakes or, in some special cases, as conditioned Brownian snakes. The problem of choosing the best argument in the Cauchy problem for a system of ordinary differential equations with retarded argument is studied from the viewpoint of the method of continuation of the solution with respect to a parameter. It is proved that the arc length counted along the integral curve of the problem is the best argument for the system of continuation equations to be well-posed in the best possible way. A transformation of the Cauchy problem to the best argument is obtained.  相似文献

In this paper, we obtain a generalization of the method of regularizing multipliers for the solution of the Hilbert boundary-value problem with finite index in the theory of analytic functions to the case of an infinite power-behaved index. This method is used to obtain a general solution of the homogeneous Hilbert problem for the half-plane, a solution that depends on the existence and the number of entire functions possessing mirror symmetry with respect to the real axis and satisfying some additional constraints related to the singularity characteristic of the index. To solve of the inhomogeneous problem, we essentially use a specially constructed solution of the homogeneous problem whereby we reduce the boundary condition of the Hilbert problem to a Dirichlet problem.  相似文献

We discuss the basic problem of the dynamics of mechanical systems with constraints, namely, the problem of finding accelerations as a function of the phase variables. It is shown that in the case of Coulomb friction, this problem is equivalent to solving a variational inequality. The general conditions for the existence and uniqueness of solutions are obtained. A number of examples are considered. For systems with ideal constraints the problem under discussion was solved by Lagrange in his “Analytical Dynamics” (1788), which became a turning point in the mathematization of mechanics. In 1829, Gauss gave his principle, which allows one to obtain the solution as the minimum of a quadratic function of acceleration, called the constraint. In 1872 Jellett gave examples of non-uniqueness of solutions in systems with static friction, and in 1895 Painlevé showed that in the presence of friction, the absence of solutions is possible along with the nonuniqueness. Such situations were a serious obstacle to the development of theories, mathematical models and the practical use of systems with dry friction. An elegant, and unexpected, advance can be found in the work [1] by Pozharitskii, where the author extended the Gauss principle to the special case where the normal reaction can be determined from the dynamic equations regardless of the values of the coefficients of friction. However, for systems with Coulomb friction, where the normal reaction is a priori unknown, there are still only partial results on the existence and uniqueness of solutions [2–4]. The approach proposed here is based on a combination of the Gauss principle in the form of reactions with the representation of the nonlinear algebraic system of equations for the normal reactions in the form of a variational inequality. The theory of such inequalities [5] includes results on the existence and uniqueness, as well as the developed methods of solution.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce a theory of finite sets FST with a strong negation of the axiom of infinity asserting that every set is provably bijective with a natural number. We study in detail the role of the axioms of Power Set, Choice, Regularity in FST, pointing out the relative dependences or independences among them. FST is shown to be provably equivalent to a fragment of Alternative Set Theory. Furthermore, the introduction of FST is motivated in view of a non-standard development. MSC: 03E30, 03E35.  相似文献
