Summary We present a detailed study of XUV and soft X-ray emission from Cu plasma produced by an excimer laser at intensitiesI L≦8·1011 W/cm2. The XeCl excimer laser (ψ≈308 nm) delivers pulses with energyE L≈2.3 J, temporal durationt L≈100 ns and brightnessB≧1014 W/cm2 sr. We recorded a spectral conversion efficiency η=0.5% eV−1 forI L=4·1011W/cm2 in the aluminium window at 73eV with a harder X-ray tail around ≈400eV. We also measured the dependence of X-ray signal on laser intensity and viewing angle. Experimental results have been compared with some analytical laser-plasma interaction models.  相似文献

The effect of a short prepulse (0.5 ps) on soft X-ray spectra from a plasma generated by a high intensity KrF* laser pulse (main pulse: 0.5 ps, intensity I main=5.3×1015 W/cm2) on flat targets of Al and Cu has been studied in detail. The spectra have been measured as a function of the pulse separation t between the two pulses and the prepulse intensity I pre. It was found that both the overall emission and the line emission increased with t (at constant I pre) and with I pre (at constant t). In particular, lines in the shorter wavelength region had higher intensity. The influence of the prepulse on the line emission of specific transitions in the Al spectra was investigated systematicly. An explanation for the observed effects is given.  相似文献

The interaction of ultrashort laser pulses with solid state targets is studied concerning the production of short X-ray pulses with photon energies up to about 10 keV. The influence of various parameters such as pulse energy, repetition rate of the laser system, focusing conditions, the application of prepulses, and the chirp of the laser pulses on the efficiency of this highly nonlinear process is examined. In order to increase the X-ray flux, the laser pulse energy is increased by a 2nd multipass amplifier from 750 μJ to 5 mJ. By applying up to 4 mJ of the pulse energy a X-ray flux of 4×1010 Fe K α photons/s or 2.75×1010 Cu K α photons/s are generated. The energy conversion efficiency is therefore calculated to η Fe≈1.4×10−5 and η Cu≈1.0×10−5. The X-ray source size is determined to 15×25 μm2. By focusing the produced X-rays using a toroidally bent crystal a quasi-monochromatic X-ray point source with a diameter of 56 μm×70μm is produced containing ≈104 Fe K α1 photons/s which permits the investigation of lattice dynamics on a picosecond or even sub-picosecond time scale. The lattice movement of a GaAs(111) crystal is shown as a typical application.  相似文献

We extend some recent results of Lubinsky, Levin, Simon, and Totik from measures with compact support to spectral measures of Schrödinger operators on the half-line. In particular, we define a reproducing kernel S L for Schrödinger operators and we use it to study the fine spacing of eigenvalues in a box of the half-line Schrödinger operator with perturbed periodic potential. 32ωL emission from various plane targets irradiated by a 20 J, 5 ns neodymium laser pulse has been investigated. The onset of 32ωL emission and an increase in intensity by five orders of magnitude is observed at a laser intensity of ≌2×1013W cm-2, the threshold intensity predicted for excitation of the 2ωpe instability.  相似文献

We adopt a multiwalled carbon nanotube target to increase the efficiency of water-window and []K X-ray pulse conversion from femtosecond-laser-produced plasma. The diameter of the carbon nanotubes is around 30 nm and the length is about 12-m. The X-ray fluence enhancement in the water-window region is sevenfold compared with a conventional carbon plate target. Further enhancement can be expected by optimizing the size of the carbon nanotubes. Soft X-ray pulse duration is 26 ps. It is also found that the []K X-ray line emission from the Si substrate of the carbon nanotube target was enhanced. This result indicates that by covering various solid materials with carbon nanotubes, enhanced short []K X-ray pulses with the corresponding wavelength can be obtained. These results show that carbon nanotubes are very attractive as a target for femtosecond laser-produced-plasma X-ray sources in single-shot X-ray microscopy and time-resolved X-ray diffraction. The effective resistance or two-point resistance between two nodes of a resistor network is the potential difference that appears across them when a unit current source is applied between the nodes as terminals. This concept arises in problems which deal with graphs as electrical networks including random walks, distributed detection and estimation, sensor networks, distributed clock synchronization, collaborative filtering, clustering algorithms and etc. In the previous paper (Jafarizadeh et al. in J. Math. Phys. 50:023302, 2009) a recursive formula for evaluation of effective resistances on the so-called distance-regular networks was given based on the Christoffel-Darboux identity. In this paper, we consider more general networks called pseudo-distance-regular networks or QD type networks, where we use the stratification of these networks and show that the effective resistances between a given node, say α, and all of the nodes β belonging to the same stratum with respect to α, are the same. Then, based on the spectral techniques, for those α,β’s which satisfy L-1aa=L-1bbL^{-1}_{\alpha\alpha}=L^{-1}_{\beta\beta} (L −1 is the pseudo-inverse of the Laplacian of the network), an analytical formula for effective resistances Rab(m)R_{\alpha\beta^{(m)}} (the equivalent resistance between terminals α and β, so that β belongs to the m-th stratum with respect to α) is given in terms of the first and second orthogonal polynomials associated with the network. From the fact that in distance-regular networks, L-1aa=L-1bbL^{-1}_{\alpha\alpha}=L^{-1}_{\beta\beta} is satisfied for all nodes α,β of the network, the effective resistances Rab(m)R_{\alpha\beta^{(m)}} for m=1,2,…,d (d is diameter of the network which is the same as the number of strata) are calculated directly, by using the given formula.  相似文献

报告由不同脉冲宽度(半高宽,FWHM)和不同载波-包络相位(CEP,Φ)的激光产生的高次谐波辐射能量输出时间特性即发射特性的研究结果. 计算表明,由宽度为几个周期的激光产生的高次谐波辐射的截止能量明显低于由无限长脉冲宽度激光产生的截止能量ωmax=3.17Up+Ip(其中ωmax为光子角频率,UpIp分别为激光有质动力势和原子的电离能). 例如,由两周期(FWHM),Φ=15°的激光产生的高次谐波辐射的截止能量为ωmax=2.90Up+Ip,此时发射特性单脉冲(即分布单脉冲)具有最大的能量带宽0.86Up. 脉冲中心位置的载波相位和时间宽度分别为0.94rad(弧度)和1.29rad. 而该激光脉冲在Φ=-75°时能产生截止能量为ωmax=2.70Up+Ip,最大能量带宽为0.70Up的双分布脉冲,其中心位置分别为-0.58rad和2.43rad,宽度分别为1.22rad和1.33rad. 随着激光脉冲宽度的增加,分布单脉冲的能量带宽比时间宽度下降得更快. 对于一定宽度的激光脉冲,所产生的分布单脉冲的能量带宽和时间宽度的CEP依赖性显示出180°的周期结构. 利用这个有趣的特点,在实验上可以通过调节CEP来选择分布脉冲的能量参数,也可用来定位和控制阿秒脉冲的时间参数. 理论分析指出,只要选择合适的阿秒X射线能量带宽,CEP不稳定性对于光电子谱和测量结果的影响将大为降低,甚至在最大程度上消除这种影响. 这些研究结果不仅有助于在物理上深入了解高次谐波辐射的动力学过程,而且对于进一步在实验上优化和选择阿秒单脉冲和双脉冲具有重要的参考和指导意义. 关键词: 高次谐波产生 鞍点方法 谐波发射特性 分布脉冲  相似文献

X-ray spectra from Teflon targets irradiated by laser pulses with a duration of 60 fs to 1 ps have been investigated experimentally. It is shown that, when the contrast of the laser pulse is sufficiently low, the effect of self-focusing of the main laser pulse in the plasma produced by the prepulse can significantly enhance the generation efficiency of fast particles. In this case, ions with energies as high as ~1 MeV are observed at relatively low laser intensities, q las ≈ (4–6) × 1016 W/cm2.  相似文献

We report here an experimental study of the ionic keV X-ray line emission from magnesium plasma produced by laser pulses of three widely different pulse durations (FWHM) of 45 fs, 25 ps and 3 ns, at a constant laser fluence of ∼1.5 × 104 J cm − 2. It is observed that the X-ray yield of the resonance lines from the higher ionization states such as H- and He-like ions decreases on decreasing the laser pulse duration, even though the peak laser intensities of 3.5 × 1017 W cm − 2 for the 45 fs pulses and 6.2 × 1014 W cm − 2 for the 25 ps pulses are much higher than 5 × 1012 W cm − 2 for the 3 ns laser pulse. The results were explained in terms of the ionization equilibrium time for different ionization states in the heated plasma. The study can be useful to make optimum choice of the laser pulse duration to produce short pulse intense X-ray line emission from the plasma and to get the knowledge of the degree of ionization in the plasma.  相似文献

A capillary discharge soft X-ray laser operating at 46.9 nm on the transition 3p-3s (J = 0-1) of the Ne-like Ar has been realized by exciting the active medium with a long half-cycle duration current pulse of 140 ns. The current is produced by discharging a 10 nF water dielectric capacitor, initially charged to voltages lower than 200 kV by a six stage Marx generator, through a 15-cm long capillary channels. The laser amplification has been obtained by properly adjusting all the other experimental parameters. Utilizing a 3-mm in diameter Al2O3 capillary channel initially filled with 0.3 torr of Ar pressure, a laser beam, which has a 4-mrad divergence and a time duration of 1.3 ns, is characterized by a gain of 0.6±0.1 cm-1. In this article, we assume that there exist scalar D*[`(D)]*{D}^{\ast}{\bar {D}}^{\ast}, Ds*[`(D)]s*{D}_{s}^{\ast}{\bar{D}}_{s}^{\ast}, B*[`(B)]*{B}^{\ast}{\bar {B}}^{\ast} and Bs*[`(B)]s*{B}_{s}^{\ast}{\bar{B}}_{s}^{\ast} molecular states, and study their masses using the QCD sum rules. The numerical results indicate that the masses are about (250–500) MeV above the corresponding D *–[`(D)]*{\bar{D}}^{\ast}, D s *–[`(D)]s*{\bar {D}}_{s}^{\ast}, B *–[`(B)]*{\bar{B}}^{\ast} and B s *–[`(B)]s*{\bar {B}}_{s}^{\ast} thresholds, the Y(4140) is unlikely a scalar Ds*[`(D)]s*{D}_{s}^{\ast}{\bar{D}}_{s}^{\ast} molecular state. The scalar D*[`(D)]*D^{\ast}{\bar{D}}^{\ast}, Ds*[`(D)]s*D_{s}^{\ast}{\bar{D}}_{s}^{\ast}, B*[`(B)]*B^{\ast}{\bar{B}}^{\ast} and Bs*[`(B)]s*B_{s}^{\ast}{\bar{B}}_{s}^{\ast} molecular states maybe not exist, while the scalar D*[`(D)]¢*{D'}^{\ast}{\bar{D}}^{\prime\ast}, Ds¢*[`(D)]s¢*{D}_{s}^{\prime\ast}{\bar{D}}_{s}^{\prime\ast}, B¢*[`(B)]¢*{B}^{\prime\ast}{\bar{B}}^{\prime\ast} and Bs¢*[`(B)]s¢*{B}_{s}^{\prime\ast}{\bar{B}}_{s}^{\prime\ast} molecular states maybe exist.  相似文献

The advantages of inductive energy storage (IES) generators for increasing the pulse energy, power, and duration for nitrogen laser pumped by self-sustained transverse discharge have been experimentally demonstrated. A theoretical model is developed and the operation of IES-pumped laser on nitrogen-electronegative gas mixtures is numerically simulated. It is shown experimentally and theoretically that, adding electronegative gases, one can control the pulse shape of lasing on the C3II u -B3II g transition in nitrogen. The increase in the electric field strength in the laser gap in N2-NF3 and N2-SF6 mixtures produced 337.1-nm laser pulses consisting of two spaced peaks and 40–50-ns pulses close to rectangular. The increase in the laser active volume to 6 l (discharge cross section to 6×10 cm2) in N2–SF6 mixtures made it possible to obtain the maximum output energy (Q=110 mJ) and UV power (P las =6 MW). In N2-NF3 mixtures, the laser pulse duration was up to ∼100 ns with an energy up to Q=30 mJ.  相似文献

An experimental investigation into emission by plasmas from Cd and crystalline CdAl2Se4 targets irradiated with a pulse-periodic YAG: Nd3+ laser is presented. The laser operates at a pulse width of 20 ns and provides 1−2×109 W/cm2 at the focus. The spectral and time characteristics of the emission are examined. The main findings are as follows: (1) The strongest lines correspond to the transitions from the 63 S 1 and 53 D 2 levels of Cd I. (2) With the Cd target, the recombination bottlenecks are 52 D 5/2 of Cd II (E up=20.11 eV) and 83 D 1, 3 of Cd I (E up=8.60–8.65 eV). (3) The average electron temperature outside the core of the plume is 0.64 eV. (4) For the 508.6-nm line of Cd I, the high filling rate of the 63 S 1 upper energy level may be related to the rapid recombination of cadmium ions with electrons via the intermediate levels of Cd at 6.82 and 7.24 eV.  相似文献

The same bound holds when the boundary conditions are all +  on three sides and all − on the remaining one. The result, although still very far from the expected Lifshitz behavior T mix = O(L 2), considerably improves upon the previous known estimates of the form Tmix £ exp(c L\frac 12 + e){T_{\rm mix}\le {\rm exp}({c L^{\frac 12 + \varepsilon}})}. The techniques are based on induction over length scales, combined with a judicious use of the so-called “censoring inequality” of Y. Peres and P. The photoreduction processes stimulated either the cw (power density 105–106 W/cm2) or pulsed (pulse energy 3–4 J, pulse duration 200 ns, effective laser spot diameter 1 mm) radiation of a CO2 laser on the surfaces of fused and crystalline quartz, as well as of natural silicates (nepheline KNa3[AlSiO4]4, rhodonite CaMn4[Si5O15], and zircon ZrSiO4), are studied. The X-ray emission analysis of irradiated surfaces showed that the laser irradiation of these materials leads to the sublimation of silicon oxides and the enrichment of surfaces with constituent metal elements. Laser radiation also stimulates the formation of silicon and metal nanoclusters on irradiated surfaces. The appearance of these nanoclusters is confirmed by both photoluminescence and X-ray emission studies of irradiated surfaces.  相似文献

利用非线性汤姆孙散射的理论,从理论和数值模拟上研究了单电子在横向穿越高斯激光束束 腰时所辐射的x射线阿秒脉冲列的性质. 主要分析了电子以初始能量γ0=1M eV—100M eV横向穿越激光振幅参数为a0=1—10的高斯光束束腰获得的阿秒辐射脉冲的 时间 和空间性质. 计算表明,辐射呈现脉冲列的形式. 脉冲列的包络宽度取决于激光强度、束腰 的宽度以及入射电子能量. 电子的初始能量比激光强度对电子辐射脉冲的影响更大. 辐射脉 宽、脉冲间隔和脉冲包络宽度都正比于1/γ20,辐射功率正比于 γ60,辐射能 量正比于γ40. 当改变激光振幅a0时,辐射功率正比 于a20、辐射包络中单 个脉冲脉宽正比于1/a0、脉冲之间的间隔正比于a0. 当保持激光强 度不变,而改变光束 束腰半径w0时,辐射的脉冲数量、包络和辐射能量正比于w0. 当 激光功率保 持不变时而改变激光强度和束腰半径时,脉冲包络宽度和最大辐射能量都基本不变. 当激光 振幅参数a0=1,电子初始能量为10MeV时,激光束腰为两个激光波长时,电子 辐 射脉冲包络宽度只有14×10-3τ0(τ0为入 射激光周期),达到几个阿秒的量级. 关键词: 阿秒脉冲 非线性汤姆孙散射 高斯激光光束  相似文献

We consider a Gaussian diffusion X t (Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process) with drift coefficient γ and diffusion coefficient σ 2, and an approximating process YetY^{\varepsilon}_{t} converging to X t in L 2 as ε→0. We study estimators [^(g)]e\hat{\gamma}_{\varepsilon}, [^(s)]2e\hat{\sigma}^{2}_{\varepsilon} which are asymptotically equivalent to the Maximum likelihood estimators of γ and σ 2, respectively. We assume that the estimators are based on the available N=N(ε) observations extracted by sub-sampling only from the approximating process YetY^{\varepsilon}_{t} with time step Δ=Δ(ε). We characterize all such adaptive sub-sampling schemes for which [^(g)]e\hat{\gamma}_{\varepsilon}, [^(s)]2e\hat{\sigma}^{2}_{\varepsilon} are consistent and asymptotically efficient estimators of γ and σ 2 as ε→0. The favorable adaptive sub-sampling schemes are identified by the conditions ε→0, Δ→0, (Δ/ε)→∞, and NΔ→∞, which implies that we sample from the process YetY^{\varepsilon}_{t} with a vanishing but coarse time step Δ(ε)≫ε. This study highlights the necessity to sub-sample at adequate rates when the observations are not generated by the underlying stochastic model whose parameters are being estimated. The adequate sub-sampling rates we identify seem to retain their validity in much wider contexts such as the additive triad application we briefly outline.  相似文献

The spatial dependence of K α emission generated from laser-produced hot electrons is investigated experimentally and theoretically. In addition, the conversion efficiency of K α production as a function of laser intensity is measured and compared with modeling results. We use the terawatt Ti:sapphire laser at MPQ and vary the peak intensity from 1015 to 1018 W/cm2 with a pulse duration of 200 fs. A solid Cu target is placed at various positions in the laser focus, which allows one to vary the intensity but keep the total energy on the target constant. When the target is near best focus, the FWHM of the K α emission, measured using a knife-edge, is considerably larger than the FWHM of the laser intensity. In measuring the efficiency of K α production using the fundamental wavelength of the laser, a clear maximum of K α emission is observed at a position away from best focus, where the peak intensity is down by more than an order of magnitude from the value at best focus. When the second harmonic of the laser is used, the K α emission is peaked near best focus. The K α emission from layer targets is used to obtain an estimate of the temperature of the hot electrons. Modeling of K α production, using a Monte Carlo electron/photon transport code, shows the relationship between incident electron energy and the emitted K α emission. Efficient K α generation from the low-intensity wings of the laser pulse contributes to the large spot size of the K α emission. The lower electron temperatures that are expected for the second harmonic explain the differences in the location of maximum K α emission for the two wavelengths. We discuss the use of K α emission in photoionizing inner-shell electrons with the goal of achieving X-ray lasing at short wavelengths. We report on the spectroscopy and, for the first time to our knowledge, continuous-wave and Q-switched diode-pumped laser operation of Er,Yb:YVO4 crystal. Absorption and emission spectra of the crystal were determined. Lifetimes of Er3+ 4 I 13/2 and 4 I 11/2 levels that define laser performance of the crystal were measured and parameters of energy transfer between Yb3+ and Er3+ ions were estimated. cw output power of 115 mW with slope efficiency of 5.4% was achieved at 1604 nm. In the Q-switched mode an average output power of 81 mW with slope efficiency of 3.5% and pulse duration of 150 ns was obtained. In quasi-cw regime maximal peak power of 610 mW with slope efficiency of 6.7% was demonstrated. PACS 42.55.Xi; 42.60.Gd; 42.70.Hj  相似文献
