The F(2)+CH(3)SCH(3) reaction was studied with crossed molecular beam techniques and high level ab initio calculations. Significant reactivity was observed even at low collision energies, consistent with the negligible barrier height obtained from the ab initio calculations. All experimental findings are consistent with a weakly bound reaction intermediate of F-F-S(CH(3))(2) structure, which possesses a special type of three-center four-electron bonding. Analogous intermediates can also explain the reactions of F(2) with CH(3)SH and CH(3)SSCH(3).  相似文献

An ab initio interpolated potential energy surface (PES) for the F + CH4 reactive system has been constructed using the interpolation method of Collins and co-workers. The ab initio calculations have been performed using second-order M?ller-Plesset (MP2) perturbation theory to build the initial PES. Scaling all correlation (SAC) methodology has been employed to improve the ab initio calculations and to construct a dual-level PES. Using this PES, a detailed quasiclassical trajectory study of integral and differential cross sections, product rovibrational populations and internal energy distributions has been carried out for the F + CH4 and F + CD4 reactions and the theoretical results have been compared with the available experimental data.  相似文献

The production of OH and HO(2) in Cl-initiated oxidation of cyclohexane has been measured using pulsed-laser photolytic initiation and continuous-laser absorption detection. The experimental data are modeled by master equation calculations that employ new G2(MP2)-like ab initio characterizations of important stationary points on the cyclo-C(6)H(11)O(2) surface. These ab initio calculations are a substantial expansion on previously published characterizations, including explicit consideration of conformational changes (chair-boat, axial-equatorial) and torsional potentials. The rate constants for the decomposition and ring-opening of cyclohexyl radical are also computed with ab initio based transition state theory calculations. Comparison of kinetic simulations based on the master equation results with the present experimental data and with literature determinations of branching fractions suggests adjustment of several transition state energies below their ab initio values. Simulations with the adjusted values agree well with the body of experimental data. The results once again emphasize the importance of both direct and indirect components of the kinetics for the production of both HO(2) and OH in radical + O(2) reactions.  相似文献

Bromo- and iodomethanes and the corresponding halogenated methyl radicals have been investigated by ab initio methods. Geometries and vibrational frequencies were derived with quadratic configuration interaction methods at the QCISD/6-311G(d,p) level of theory, and energies via QCISD(T)/6-311+G(3df,2p). Core electrons were represented with relativistic effective potentials. Anharmonicity of the out-of-plane bending modes in the methyl radicals was taken into account by numerical integration of the Schr?dinger equation with potentials derived from relaxed scans of these modes. The results are in good accord with experimental data where available. Thermochemistry derived via isodesmic reactions referenced to CH3, CH4, and monohalomethanes yields excellent accord with new experiments on dihalomethanes and provides recommendations for the more poorly characterized tri- and tetrahalomethanes and halomethyl radicals. For the methanes CH2Br2, CHBr3, CBr4, CH2I2, CHI3, CI4, CH2BrI, CHBr2I, and CHBrI2 we compute DeltafH degrees (298) values of 4.3, 51.6, 110.6, 108.1, 208.5, 321.3, 56.8, 104.8, and 157.1 kJ mol(-1), respectively. For the methyl radicals CH2Br, CHBr2, CBr3, CH2I, CHI2, CI3, CHBrI, CBr2I, and CBrI2 we compute DeltafH degrees (298) values of 166.6, 191.7, 224.0, 217.2, 290.4, 369.1, 241.6, 320.8, and 272.3 kJ mol(-1), respectively. Recommended confidence limits are +/-3 kJ mol(-1) per Br or I atom. Trends in these values and the corresponding C-H bond strengths are discussed and compared with prior experiments, empirical estimation schemes, and ab initio calculations.  相似文献

The rotational spectrum of chlorofluoroiodomethane (CHClFI) has been investigated. Because its rotational spectrum is extremely crowded, extensive ab initio calculations were first performed in order to predict the molecular parameters. The low J transitions were measured using a pulsed-molecular-beam Fourier transform spectrometer, and the millimeter-wave spectrum was measured to determine accurate centrifugal distortion constants. Because of the high resolution of the experimental techniques, the analysis yielded accurate rotational constants, centrifugal distortion corrections, and the complete quadrupole coupling tensors for the iodine and chlorine nuclei, as well as the contribution of iodine to the spin-rotation interaction. These molecular parameters were determined for the two isotopologs CH35ClFI and CH37ClFI. They reproduce the observed transitions within the experimental accuracy. Moreover, the ab initio calculations have provided a precise equilibrium molecular structure. Furthermore, the ab initio molecular parameters are found in good agreement with the corresponding experimental values.  相似文献

In this work we present a study of the F+CH(4)-->HF+CH(3) reaction (DeltaHdegrees(298 K)=-32.0 kcal mol(-1)) using different methods of the chemical reaction theory. The ground potential energy surface (PES) is characterized using several ab initio methods. Full-dimensional rate constants have been calculated employing the variational transition state theory and using directly ab initio data. A triatomic analytical representation of the ground PES was derived from ab initio points calculated at the second- and fourth-order M?ller-Plesset levels with the 6-311+G(2df,2pd) basis set, assuming the CH(3) fragment to be a 15 a.m.u. pseudoatom in the fitting process. This is suggested from experiments that indicate that the methyl group is uncoupled to the reaction coordinate. A dynamics study by means of the quasiclassical trajectory (QCT) method and employing this analytical surface was also carried out. The experimental data available on the HF internal states distributions are reproduced by the QCT results. Very recent experimental information about the reaction stereodynamics is also borne out by our QCT calculations. Comparisons with the benchmark F+H(2) and analogous Cl+CH(4) reactions are established throughout.  相似文献

Computer simulations are used to study solvation free energies and solubilities in supercritical solvents. Solvation free energies are calculated using the particle insertion method. The equilibrium solvent configurations required for these calculations are based on molecular dynamics simulations employing model solvent potentials previously tuned to reproduce liquid-vapor coexistence properties of the fluids Xe, C(2)H(6), CO(2), and CHF(3). Solutes are represented by all-atom potentials based on ab initio calculations and the OPLS-AA parameter set. Without any tuning of the intermolecular potentials, such calculations are found to reproduce the solvation free energies of a variety of typical solid solutes with an average accuracy of +/-2 kJmol. Further calculations on simple model solutes are also used to explore general aspects of solvation free energies in supercritical solvents. Comparisons of solutes in Lennard-Jones and hard-sphere representations of Xe show that solvation free energies and thus solubilities are not significantly influenced by solvent density fluctuations near the critical point. The solvation enthalpy and entropy do couple to these fluctuations and diverge similarly to solute partial molar volumes. Solvation free energies are also found to be little affected by the local density augmentation characteristic of the compressible regime. In contrast to solute-solvent interaction energies, which often provide a direct measure of local solvent densities, solvation free energies are remarkably insensitive to the presence of local density augmentation.  相似文献

The harmonic force field of thioacetamide has been obtained by Hartree-Fock level ab initio calculations using the 4-31G(d) basis set. The force constants have been scaled to reproduce the infrared fundamental bands of argon matrix isolated CH3CSNH2 and CD3CSNH2. Normal coordinate calculations based on the scaled force field suggested the co-presence of cis-CH3CSNHD and trans-CH3CSNHD in the infrared spectrum measured for CH3CSND2. The prediction of the fundamental bands was made for CD3CSND2, cis-CD3CSNHD and trans-CD3CSNHD.  相似文献

Understanding solvation in hydrofluoroalkane (HFA) propellants is of great importance for the development of novel pressurized metered-dose inhaler (pMDI) formulations. HFA-based pMDIs are not only the most widely used inhalation therapy devices for treating lung diseases, but they also hold promise as vehicles for the systemic delivery of biomolecules to and through the lungs. In this work we propose a combined microscopic experimental and computational approach to quantitatively relate the chemistry of moieties to their HFA-philicity. Binding energy calculations are used to determine the degree of interaction between a propellant HFA and candidate fragments. We define a new quantity, the enhancement factor E, which also takes into account fragment-fragment interactions. This quantity is expected to correlate well with the solubility and the ability of the moieties of interest to impart stability to colloidal dispersions in HFAs. We use a methyl-based (CH) segment and its fluorinated analog (CF) to test our approach. CH is an important baseline case since it represents the tails of surfactants in FDA-approved pMDIs. CF was chosen due to the improved solubility and ability of this chemistry to stabilize aqueous dispersions in HFAs. Adhesion force from Chemical Force Microscopy (CFM) is used as an experimental analog to the binding energy calculations. The force of interaction between a chemically modified AFM tip and substrate is measured in a model HFA, which is a liquid at ambient conditions. Silanes with the same chemistry as the fragments used in the ab initio calculations allow for direct comparison between the two techniques. The CFM results provide an absolute scale for HFA-philicity. Single molecule (pair) forces calculated from the CFM experiments are shown to be in very good agreement to the E determined from the ab initio calculations. The ab initio calculations and CFM are corroborated by previous experimental studies where propellants HFAs are seen to better solvate the CF functionality.  相似文献

A vacuum ultraviolet photoionization mass spectrometric study of acetone   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The photoionization and dissociative photoionization of acetone have been studied at the photon energy range of 8-20 eV. Photoionization efficiency spectra for ions CH3COCH3+, CH3+, C2H3+, C3H3+, C3H5+, CH(2-)CO+, CH3CO+, C3H4O+, and CH3COCH2+ have been measured. In addition, the energetics of the dissociative photoionization has been examined by ab initio Gaussian-3 (G3) calculations. The computational results are useful in establishing the dissociation channels near the ionization thresholds. With the help of G3 results, the dissociation channels for the formation of the fragment ions CH3CO+, CH2CO+, CH3+, C3H3+, and CH3COCH2+ have been established. The G3 results are in fair to excellent agreement with the experimental data.  相似文献

The intermolecular potentials for the NO(X 2Pi)-Kr and NO(A 2Sigma+)-Kr systems have been calculated using highly accurate ab initio calculations. The spin-restricted coupled cluster method for the ground 1 2A' state [NO(X 2Pi)-Kr] and the multireference singles and doubles configuration interaction method for the excited 2 2A' state [NO(A 2Sigma+)-Kr], respectively, were used. The potential energy surfaces (PESs) show two linear wells and one that is almost in the perpendicular position. An analytical representation of the PESs has been constructed for the triatomic systems and used to carry out molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of the NO-doped krypton matrix response after excitation of NO. MD results are shown comparatively for three sets of potentials: (1) anisotropic ab initio potentials [NO molecule direction fixed during the dynamics and considered as a point (its center of mass)], (2) isotropic ab initio potentials (isotropic part in a Legendre polynomial expansion of the PESs), and (3) fitted Kr-NO potentials to the spectroscopic data. An important finding of this work is that the anisotropic and isotropic ab initio potentials calculated for the Kr-NO triatomic system are not suitable for describing the dynamics of structural relaxation upon Rydberg excitation of a NO impurity in the crystal. However, the isotropic ab initio potential in the ground state almost overlaps the published experimental potential, being almost independent of the angle asymmetry. This fact is also manifested in the radial distribution function around NO. However, in the case of the excited state the isotropic ab initio potential differs from the fitted potentials, which indicates that the Kr-NO interaction in the matrix is quite different because of the presence of the surrounding Kr atoms acting on the NO molecule. MD simulations for isotropic potentials reasonably reproduce the experimental observables for the femtosecond response and the bubble size but do not match spectroscopic results. A general overall view of the results suggests that, when the Kr-NO interaction takes place inside the matrix, potentials are rather symmetric and less repulsive than those for the triatomic system.  相似文献

Molecular dynamics simulations of aqueous solutions at infinite dilution of the reaction of water with ethene: H2O + CH2CH2 --> CH3CH2OH were performed using Lennard-Jones 12-6-1 potentials to describe the solute-solvent interactions, and TIP3P to describe the water-water interactions. The Morokuma decomposition scheme of ab initio interaction energies at the SCF level and the dispersion component at the MP2 level were used to reproduce the molecular parameters of the solute-water interaction potentials. The results show that the functions that use the EX-PL-DIS-ES interaction model to describe the solvation of the reactant, transition state, and product systems lead to good values of the reaction (Delta G) and acceptable values of the activation (Delta G#) free energy as compared with those from using AMBER-derived parameters, using the available theoretical and experimental data as referents.  相似文献

The splittings of the hydroxyl torsional absorption bands observed in the gas phase IR spectra of 2-haloethanols, XCH2-CH2-OH are reported for X = Cl, Br, I. The satellite absorptions, assigned to excited states of the skeletal torsion, appear on the low-frequency side of the fundamental, possibly because of weakening of the internal hydrogen bond. The torsional potential surface is investigated by calculations using a two-dimensional model based on the known experimental data for the compound with X = Cl, and by ab initio calculations for the haloethanols with X = F and X = Cl. Models based on the assumption of pure torsion and simple dipole-dipole or central force interaction terms failed to reproduce the observed data for 2-chloroethanol, but good agreement was obtained after local modification of the potential surface interpolated from the ab initio calculations. The results may help devise the phenomenological theory of potential energy needed for quantitative study of the internal hydrogen bond.  相似文献

A brief review of popular polarizable potentials for water, including both those parameterized to fit experimental properties, typically of the liquid, or electronic structure calculations on small clusters, is presented. The recently developed POLIR potential, which was parameterized to reproduce both ab initio calculations on clusters and the experimental liquid IR spectrum, is discussed, and some new results for both clusters and the liquid phase are shown, indicating its transferable nature.  相似文献

Time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) calculations of the transition energies and oscillator strengths of fluorinated alkanes have been performed. The TD-DFT method with the non-local B3LYP potential yields transition energies for the methanes, which are smaller by about 10% as compared to the experimental values. An empirical linear correlation was found between the calculated and experimental transition energies both at the B3LYP/DZ+Ryd(C, F) and B3LYP/cc-pVTZ+Ryd(C, F, H) levels for a total of 19 transitions of the fluorinated methanes with linear correlation coefficients of 0.987 for the former and 0.988 for the latter. This empirical correlation for fluorinated methane molecules is found to agree well with the previously obtained empirical correlations between calculated and experimental values for non-fluorinated molecules. The results show that a single empirical-correlation relationship can be used for both non-fluorinated and fluorinated molecules to predict transition energies. This linear relationship is then used to predict the photoabsorption spectra of ethane, propane, butane, and partially and fully fluorinated derivatives. A key result of these calculations is the dominance of Rydberg transitions in the spectral region of interest.  相似文献

Molecular mechanics (MM2) parameters for silanes which have a Si-C-Cl fragment have been developed based on available experimental data and ab initio molecular orbital (MO) calculations. Molecular properties, mainly rotational barriers and geometries, of α-chlorosilanes have been studied using our new MM2 parameter set. Changes in the Si-C bond lengths and several bond angles of α-chlorosilanes due to the additional attachment of polar atom(s) have been investigated utilizing ab initio calculations. An electronegativity correction to both bond lengths and angles helps MM2 to reproduce results from ab initio calculations. The new force field has been applied to the conformational analysis of l-(chloromethyl)-1,2-dimethylsilacyclopentane, a model used in our studies of rearrangements of α-halosilanes.  相似文献

Intermolecular interaction energies of 12 orientations of C(3)F(8) dimers were calculated with electron correlation correction by the second-order M?ller-Plesset perturbation method. The antiparallel C(2h) dimer has the largest interaction energy (-1.45 kcal/mol). Electron correlation correction increases the attraction considerably. Electrostatic energy is not large. Dispersion is mainly responsible for the attraction. Orientation dependence of the interaction energy of the C(3)F(8) dimer is substantially smaller than that of the C(3)H(8) dimer. The calculated interaction energy of the C(3)F(8) dimer at the potential minimum is 78% of that of the C(3)H(8) dimer (-1.85 kcal/mol), whereas the interaction energies of the CF(4) and C(2)F(6) dimers are larger than those of the CH(4) and C(2)H(6) dimers. The intermolecular separation in the C(3)F(8) dimer at the potential minimum is substantially larger than that in the C(3)H(8) dimer. The larger intermolecular separation due to the steric repulsion between fluorine atoms is the cause of the smaller interaction energy of the C(3)F(8) dimer at the potential minimum. The calculated intermolecular interaction energy potentials of the C(3)F(8) dimers using an all atom model OPLS-AA (OPLS all atom model) force field and a united atom model force field were compared with the ab initio calculations. Although the two force fields well reproduces the experimental vapor and liquid properties of perfluoroalkenes, the comparison shows that the united atom model underestimates the potential depth and orientation dependence of the interaction energy. The potentials obtained by the OPLS-AA force field are close to those obtained by the ab initio calculations.  相似文献
