Neutron stars with isovector scalar correlations
Neutron stars with the isovector scalar δ-field are studied in the framework of the relativistic mean-field (RMF) approach in a pure-nucleon-plus-lepton scheme. The δ-field leads to a larger repulsion in dense neutron-rich matter and to a definite splitting of proton and neutron effective masses. Both features are influencing the stability conditions of the neutron stars. Two parametrizations for the effective nonlinear Lagrangian density are used to calculate the nuclear equation of state (EOS) and the neutron star properties, and compared to correlated Dirac-Brueckner results. We conclude that in order to reproduce reasonable nuclear structure and neutron star properties within a RMF approach, a density dependence of the coupling constants is required.

Density-dependent parametrization models of the nucleon-meson coupfing constants, including the isovector scalar δ-field, are applied to asymmetric nuclear matter. The nuclear equation of state (EOS) and the neutron star properties are studied in a relativistic Lagrangian density, using the relativistic mean field (RMF) hadron theory. It is known that the δ-field in the constant coupling scheme leads to a larger repulsion in dense neutron-rich matter and to a definite splitting of proton and neutron effective masses, finally influences the stability of the neutron stars. We use density-dependent models of the nucleon-meson couplings to study the properties of neutron star matter and to reexamine the (~-field effects in asymmetric nuclear matter. Our calculation shows that the stability conditions of the neutron star matter can be improved in presence of the δ-meson in the density-dependent models of the coupling constants. The EOS of nuclear matter strongly depends on the density dependence of the interactions.

We have studied the important astrophysical S-factor for 36 known p-nuclei with (p, γ) reactions at low energy in the mass region A\(\approx \) 74–196. This is done by folding the density-dependent M3Y (DDM3Y) interaction with spherical relativistic mean field (RMF) densities. The densities are obtained from different parameter sets such as G1, G2, NL1, NL2, NL3*, NL-SH, DD-ME1, DD-ME2 and DD-PC1. The independence of the S-factor on different densities is discussed and compared with experimental data and with NON-SMOKER calculations whenever available.

Ne and Mg isotope chains are investigated based on constrained calculations in the framework of a deformed relativistic mean-field (RMF) model with the NL075 parameter set. The calculated quadrupole deformation and binding energy are compared with other theoretical results as well as the available experimental data. It shows that the calculated deformations of Ne and Mg with the NL075 are more accurate than those obtained with the NL-SH. It is predicted that ^19,29,32Ne and ^20,31Mg maybe have a triaxial deformation and ^25-28Ne and ^27-30Mg exhibit a shape coexistence probably. The closure effect of neutron number N=8 for ^20Mg is predicted to be very weak.

We study the properties of unstable nuclei and the equations of state of nuclear matter in the framework of the relativistic many body theory. We take the relativistic mean field (RMF) theory as a phenomenological theory with several parameters, whose form is constrained by the successful microscopic theory (RBHF), and whose values are extracted by using the experimental values of unstable nuclei. We find the outcome with the newly obtained parameter set (TMA) is promising in comparison with various experimental data. We study also the neutron star profiles with the equation of state of nuclear matter with the use of TMA.

We construct the equation of state (EOS) of nuclear matter using the relativistic mean field (RMF) theory in the wide density, temperature range with various proton fractions for the use of supernova simulation and the neutron star calculations. We first construct the EOS of homogeneous nuclear matter. We use then the Thomas-Fermi approximation to describe inhomogeneous matter, where heavy nuclei are formed together with free nucleon gas. We discuss the results on free energy, pressure and entropy in the wide range of astrophysical interest. As an example, we apply the resulting EOS on the neutron star properties by using the Oppenheimer-Volkoff equation.

The properties of hadronic matter at β equilibrium in a wide range of densities are described by appropriate equations of state in the framework of the relativistic mean field model. Strange meson fields, namely the scalar meson field σ*(975) and the vector meson field φ(1020), are included in the present work. We discuss and compare the results of the equation of state, nucleon effective mass, and strangeness fraction obtained by adopting the TM1, TMA, and GL parameter sets for nuclear sector and three different choices for the hypcron couplings. We find that the parameter set TM1 favours the onset of hyperons most, while at high densities the GL parameter set leads to the most hyperon-rich matter. For a certain parameter set (e.g. TM1), the most hyperon-rich matter is obtained for the hyperon potential model. The influence of the hyperon couplings on the effective mass of nucleon, is much weaker than that on the nucleon parameter set. The nonstrange mesons dominate essentially the global properties of dense hyperon matter. The hyperon potential model predicts the lowest value of the neutron star maximum mass of about 1.45 Msun to be 0.4--0.5 Msun lower than the prediction by using the other choices for hyperon couplings.[第一段]  相似文献

We study the nuclear properties far from the stability line in the relativistic mean field theory. We find that the parameter set NL 1 provides very good results on binding energies of unstable nuclei, while NL2 results are not good, although both parameter sets give equally good results on nuclear properties for stable nuclei. We discuss the neutron number dependence of the proton and the neutron root mean square radii of proton magic nuclei.

We have studied the structural properties of even-even, neutron deficient, Z = 114–126, superheavy nuclei in the mass region A ∼ 270–320, using an axially deformed relativistic mean field model. The calculations are performed with three parameter sets (NL1, TM1 and NL-SH), in order to see the dependence of the structural properties on the force used. The calculated ground state shapes are found to be parameter dependent. For some parameter sets, many of the nuclei are degenerate in their ground state configuration. Special attention is given to the investigation of the magic structures (spherical shell closures) in the superheavy region. We find that some known magic numbers are absent and new closed shells are predicted. Large shell gaps appear at Z = 80, 92, (114), 120 and 138, N = 138, (164), (172), 184, (198), (228) and 258, irrespective of the parameter sets used. The numbers in parenthesis are those which correspond to relatively smaller gaps. The existence of new magic numbers in the valley of superheavy elements is discussed. It is suggested that nuclei around Z = 114 and N = 164 ∼ 172 could be considered as candidates for the next search of superheavy nuclei. The existence of superheavy islands around Z = 120 and N = 172 or N = 184 double shell closure is also discussed.

Neutron star properties are computed in relativistic models that contain both hadron and quark degrees of freedom. Neutron matter is assumed to have a low-density phase described by quantum hadrodynamics (QHD) and a high-density phase described by quantum chromodynamics (QCD). Several different QHD models and approximations are employed; all use parameters that reproduce the binding energy and density of equilibrium nuclear matter. Calculated neutron star properties depend primarily on the high-density equation of state and cannot be inferred from the symmetry energy or compressibility of equilibrium nuclear matter. If interactions are neglected in the QCD phase, the density of the hadron-quark phase transition is determined by one free parameters, which is the energy/volume needed to create a “bubble” that confines the quarks and gluons. Observed neutron star masses do not constrain this parameter, but stable neutron stars with quark cores can exist only for a limited range of parameter values. When second-order gluon-exchange corrections are included in the QCD phase, these conclusions are unchanged, and the parameter values that lead to stable hadronquark stars are restricted even further.

Isoscalar and isovector nuclear matter properties are investigated in the Skyrme Hartree-Fock (SHF) and the relativistic mean field (RMF) models. The Skyrme parameters are related analytically to the isoscalar and the isovector nuclear matter properties of the Hamiltonian density. Linear correlations are found among the isovector nuclear matter properties of the Hamiltonian density in both the SHF and the RMF models. We also discovered that the correlations between the isovector properties and the incompressibility K show a singularity at the critical incompressibility Kc=306 MeV. It is shown that the neutron skin thickness gives crucial information about not only for the neutron EOS but also about the isovector nuclear matter properties and about the parameterization of Skyrme interaction. Charge exchange spin-dipole (SD) excitations are proposed to determine the neutron skin thickness model independently.

Using the RMF theory to describe the neutron liquid region in the neutron star and the Fermi gas model or FMT, BPS,and BBP model to describe the crust of the neutron star (referred as Fermi gas+RMF and RMF* respectively),the properties of the neutron star are calculated and compared with those from the RMF theory. Although the EOS at low density has negligible influence on the maximum mass of the neutron star, and its corresponding central density, energy density, and pressure, it changes the mass-radius relationship of neutron stars considerably. The differences of the neutron star radius corresponding to maximum mass between the RMF theory and RMF* calculations are 0.23-0.33 km.

The relativistic mean field(RMF) FSUGold model extended to include hyperons is employed to study the properties of neutron stars with strong magnetic fields. The chaotic magnetic field approximation is utilized. The effect of anomalous magnetic moments(AMMs) is also investigated. It is shown that the equation of state(EOS)of neutron star matter is stiffened by the presence of the magnetic field, which increases the maximum mass of a neutron star by around 6%.The AMMs only have a small influence on the EOS of neutron star matter, and increase the maximum mass of a neutron star by 0.02M_(sun).Neutral particles are spin polarized due to the presence of the AMMs.
